Sat, 20 Feb 2016 09:31:08 EST Escape from the Craziness http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6100396 Getting to be that time of year when it gets even crazier at work than the normal. So the weekend is my escape until spring break in 2 weeks. It was too windy and foggy for a bike ride this morning, so I am at the gym for a couple of hour. I have my audiobook on and escaping to a galaxy far, far away. Later a movie and dinner with my wonderful husband. Sat, 20 Feb 2016 08:57:32 EST 30 Day Reset Challenge - Day 6 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5940849 Daily challenge: How you spend your time can say a lot about what you prioritize in your life. Today, take stock of how much time you waste on social media and other websites. Could that time be better spent in a more productive way to get you closer to your goals?

Let's see.......I spend a lot of time playing games on my phone. It is the one mindless way I have to relax. The rest of my time was with work and taking care of my family. I am a teacher and during school I do not ha... Sat, 6 Jun 2015 18:44:12 EST 30 Day Healthy Habits Reset Challenge - Day 5 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5940847 Ok so it has taken me two months to get to day 5 uggghhh. The perils of being a teacher in a state tested subject. By the time I work out in the morning, work all day, get home and prep for the next day, it is bedtime. 46

I am going to FINISH this challenge 521

I have told my husband (and now telling you) about my goal of working out an hour a day. I have met it most days. The days I haven't is when I have only had time to work out one time a... Sat, 6 Jun 2015 18:38:30 EST 30 Day Healthy Habits Reset Challenge - Day 4 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5898408 Well this is going to be a hard one.....having an accountability buddy. My family is supportive but I know they get very tired of hearing out healthy things and trying to help Mom keep up with her goals. My husband is also supportive but I am trying to help him to get onto the healthy track. I will have to do what I can on this one without driving my family more crazy than they already are considering Mom has taken all of the junk food out of the house and we only have healthy things. I know... Mon, 23 Mar 2015 20:50:48 EST 30 Day Reset Challenge - Day 3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5897261 Well here I am ten days later after starting this challenge and just up to day 3. I ahve only been working out 30 minutes a day, rather than the hour like I want.

The specificity for my goal that this day requires is that I want to get down to 125 lbs and stay there. I want to ride a century on my bicycle and run a half marathon with my husband and son.

I want to be able to ride the century by the end of the summer. The half marathon will be ran in December - the Rockn... Sat, 21 Mar 2015 23:09:27 EST 30 Day Healthy Habits Reset Challenge http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5891457 I just saw this challenge and thought it was a great idea. I have gotten into a rut like I usually do this time of year because we are on the downhill slide to the end of the school year.

I tried to think what I needed to work on more and the one thing I thought of was to make sure I work out at least and hour a day.

3 reasons I want to reach this goal:
1. This goal will help me to stay healthy
2. This goal will help me to reach my goal of running the Rock Rol... Thu, 12 Mar 2015 00:18:01 EST 50 Miler http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5226353 Did a 52 miler on Saturday. It felt really good. My time wasn't too bad..4 hours but I still need to work on speeding it up. I need to knock down the time for when I ride a century. I ended up with 121.4 for last week. I just need to keep it up and not fall into that take a break for a day that ends up being week(s) trap. I am doing elliptical and strength videos on days that I can get on the bike. I have also been working on the trainer with some terrain videos to try and help increase my sp... Sun, 27 Jan 2013 23:01:17 EST Productive Weekend & Some Advice for the Struggling http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5217758 I ended up with a total of 89.5 miles for the three day weekend. My husband rode two of the rides with me. He usually rides behind me since I am a slower rider and he will stay in a higher gear even on the hills so that he still gets a good workout. After our ride this afternoon, he told me that he noticed that I was starting to get cyclist legs. That's definitely not a bad thing 224 The cycling is helping me to keep my weight off. I have not reached my ultimate goal but I believe... Mon, 21 Jan 2013 22:14:59 EST Getting Back Into It http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5215556 Up until mid December I had been a little lax with my fitness. Excuse after excuse. Getting home late from work, having to get up early for work, papers to grade, my schoolwork, housework...on and on. I was overwhelmed with my new teaching position and that didn't help either. Even with the lack of exercise I was diligent in watching my calories so I maintained within a five pound range.

Hubby and I got an elliptical for Christmas and I have been doing a lot better. I do a half ho... Sun, 20 Jan 2013 12:31:18 EST Nutty http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5202934 Thank God, I was called for a full time teaching position the end of August 2012, but it was a bittersweet victory. The school I am teaching at does not get out until 415. I usually cannot get out of the door until 500. It is a 40 minute drive home. So by the time I get home it is dark and I can't ride. At first I was just getting to ride on the weekends. Then after the Cancer Ride in October, I got in a 40 mile ride on Thanksgiving day and then today I was finally able to get a 16 mile ride ... Fri, 11 Jan 2013 23:25:40 EST End of Week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5010346 Made it through the week. Lost 2 pounds, which is really good considering I am on the lower end of my journey. I know the closer I get the harder it is going to be and the slower it will go. I just can't give up and have to ensure that I at least maintain. I know it is a lifestyle change, which is why I have totally changed how my family eats whether they wanted to or not. It is no longer me cooking my food separate from the family. Now, everyone eats the same thing. I just eat smaller portio... Fri, 10 Aug 2012 23:03:32 EST Tired and Toning http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5007499 Trying to keep going. I have been really tired today. Did strength training and walked for 2.3 miles. I am still on my 3 pound plateau. I figured I would try to tone some up while in this plateau. I need to tone bad. I have been working so much on cardio with the cycling that I have lots of flabby areas that are not filled with the 100 lbs of fat anymore. It is hard and I am hurting bad but I keep trying.

I got both my DS's to go walking with me tonight. My youngest DS helped me w... Wed, 8 Aug 2012 23:13:00 EST Not a bad day today and Did something drastic two Fridays ago http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5005945 It wasn't a bad day today. It started out with me weighing and putting on .9 lbs. I am still a plateau of a 3 pound range. Tried to get DH to work out with me tonight since he was home but it did not work. He wants to lose weight but with his long days he is so tired that it is hard to motivate him. I am still working on it. The same thing with my oldest DH. He is more of a home-body, like I used to be. I am trying to get him to work out with me some as well. He has been doing pretty good wit... Tue, 7 Aug 2012 23:28:31 EST End of Hiatus http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5004411 It has been awhile since my last post. Life has taken its toll once again, Mom and wife duties, going to school and everything else. About a month ago, our niece finally got to go home to her parents. It was a hard 9 ½ months but we got through it. We miss her but she is with her mom and dad, which is as it should be. God willing the parents will keep their act together so all of the issues will stay resolved and the baby can remain in the home.

I have hit a plateau over the last ... Tue, 7 Aug 2012 00:41:07 EST Definitely Stopping the Weighing Once a Week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4802009 It has been a week since my last update. It has been a crazy week since going back to work from Spring Break.

Put on another pound this week with the weighing once a week thing. So out the window it goes. When I am trying to loose, I guess I need more reinforcement to ensure I am staying on track. I also know that with the weighing everyday that I was getting almost obsessive, so I am going to try a happy medium, weighing every other day then depending on how well that goes even ev... Fri, 23 Mar 2012 22:50:55 EST Don't Know About This Weighing Once a Week Thing http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4791512 Ok. I have given this weighing once a week thing a try. I weighed today and I put on 0.7 pounds. I know there are daily fluccuations and time of day affects things too. I slept in today and weighed a little later than what I normally do. Yes, I know, it could have been a lot worse. I also know that I have been riding a lot the last couple of weeks so my muscle mass is building up. All of this added together could add up to the weight gain.

I am going to give it a try for one more ... Sat, 17 Mar 2012 00:40:30 EST A pretty uneventful day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4789880 Had a nice ride this evening. Almost thought I was not going to get a ride in today. Tomorrow is going to be break day. I know I will be riding Saturday and Sunday so I need to take a break tomorrow.

This is my first week in a long, long time of weighing once a week. Usually when I am actively working on losing weight and not just maintaining, I weigh every morning. This is the first week I have ever went one whole week without weighing. I will see tomorrow how well I have done th... Thu, 15 Mar 2012 23:30:02 EST Looks Like It's the Small Route http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4788249 Drove the Fiesta Wildflower 40 mile route today. It looks like it is going to be the shorter 23 mile route. With the rolling hills, I don't think I would be up for the 40 mile. I do not think it would be a matter of completing it but completing it in a decent amount of time. I think it would take me way too long to complete the 40 mile ride.

So now it's work to improve hill skills which will decrease my time.

24 Wed, 14 Mar 2012 23:29:53 EST 2012.03.13 A Good Ride http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4786576 I have never blogged before but I am trying all of the SparkPeople activities this time to try and help me get my weight back down and once there to maintain.

I had a really good day today. My DH, DS and I rode 28.36 miles. It wasn't the fastest ride in the world but I am steady. The hills really get to me but I am getting better. I have only really been cycling for the last two weeks. I started out with a 1.5 mile first ride then went up to 7 then a few 10's. Saturday I did a 25 ... Wed, 14 Mar 2012 00:27:15 EST
