So happy for her, she has been alone a long time raising her daughter. She and Daniel met while she was in college and now have been dating steadily a little over 2 years. They became engaged in January, and then, the plan was to be married in the Spring of 2015. While they were old hands and familiar with things in that area, everything was new to DH and I who had never been there! 2

On a desolate stretch of about 80 miles of HWY 281 around the Alice, TX area, all that was there for miles around was dead grass, mequite bushes, and cactus! I thought "OH MY GOSH!" What has Eileen gotten me into? DH and I were praying duri... Fri, 27 Jan 2012 23:34:27 EST Practical applications of Eating right! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4664915 I have to say that this year, I made a real commitment to lose some weight and keep it off, by changing my lifestyle, and the way I eat.

I am striving to increase my activity, get my body moving, and be positive about it! I haven't been riding Lexi lately because her stablemate has a contagious illness, and I don't want my trainer's horses getting it, so have stayed at home. That makes it difficult because that was the bulk of my exercise, I love it and it burns a LOT of cal... Sat, 7 Jan 2012 21:06:52 EST Doing better.........so far, LOL! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4652052 Here it is the 2nd day of 2012, and I have done well, both days. One of my goals was to increase the amount of fruits and vegetables I eat in a day and decrease fat and sodium. I have done that, with a large tossed salad with tomatoes, broccoli, and onions for supper each night and 6 oz orange juice with breakfast yesterday and an orange today for breakfast.

A huge goal of mine is to get more exercise in, because lets face it ladies, we HAVE to do that to lose the weight and fir... Mon, 2 Jan 2012 18:31:59 EST Fun Day....... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4582689 Just wanted to write a short blog about our attempt to sell off some of our accumulated "stuff"! We (along with our horse trainer, Steve and his Dad, Steve senior) pooled our castoffs and loaded up our flatbed trailer Friday night, ready to head to the Flea Market in downtown Cleburne on Saturday.

Saturday morning, Matt and I got up at 5:30 Am and got ready for our day. Matt left the house about 7 AM and arrived at the Flea Market and set up shop.......I went over to our train... Sun, 13 Nov 2011 19:55:35 EST Mystic & the Supreme Extreme Mustang Challenge (with pictures!) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4491002 This past week, from Wednesday on, was the Supreme Extreme Mustang Challenge in Fort Worth, TX. The mustangs were adopted this past April, to be gentled and exhibited here for a piece of the prize money, totalling $200,000. This is double the amount rewarded last year, it is becoming a very popular event. Many prospective and practicing horse trainers attempt to compete at their level to get themselves known.

Our trainer, Steve, adopted a brown Appaloosa Mustang that he named... That is Sugar in the front and Connie in the back.

They will be going off to the trainer's this fall to learn how to be saddle horses! That will be a definite change in THEIR lifestyles! It will be good for them, though, to be challenged and used for this. ... Tue, 30 Aug 2011 23:43:43 EST Letter Received after our gift of TWO SPECIAL MARES!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4452804 "Hi Chris and Matt

Just a quick note to let you both know that Sugar and Connie made it through their first night at Valentine Ranch with flying colors, not a nick on either of them, hungry this morning. Loved their Purina Wellsolve L/S (and Horseshoers Secret, too) already grazing, paying very little attention to the "boys" (geldings) who are hanging around the divider fence looking at them! I stayed to watch them eat, and despite eating out of the same long trough, they did no... Sun, 28 Aug 2011 13:16:11 EST Our two special horses on to greener pastures http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4451856 Today was the day that the people from East TX came to look at and take our APHA/PtHA (that's Paint and Pinto registered) mares, Connie and Sugar back with them to their new homes.
Janet and Marshall drove 4 hours this morning to get here, driving a Ford dually pickup and hauling a 2 horse trailer. (I think they were pretty sure they were going to like the mares!) Right away, it was as if we had known these people all our lives. We sat at the table and talked horses for at leas... Sat, 27 Aug 2011 21:14:51 EST Taking three of our horses to Denver (with pictures) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4410845 As many of my friends know, Matt and I have decided to downsize our horse herd so that we can travel and uncomplicate our horse care that must be done, to the point where anyone (even someone who doesn't know about horses) can do it. That necessitates us getting rid of 6 horses quickly. This is hard, because we have raised each and every one of them from babies. They are just like our kids.

We are keeping the stallion, Casper, and my old mare, Sugar, along with Fancy (the m... Sat, 6 Aug 2011 14:26:47 EST No lesson tonight! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4400642 Well, today we had an excessive heat warning. Basically that means you should stay in and stay cool. Our temp today (actual temp, mind you) hit 106 or 107! It was about 5 degrees hotter than that with the humidity added in. WOW! It is so hot out there I can hardly breathe!

Our trainer just called and suggested we call off my lesson tonight with Lexi, and I agreed. I was wondering if it was going to cool off enough, and Steve thought it wouldn't.... He left it up t... Mon, 1 Aug 2011 18:58:54 EST
