After counting carbs, calories, fat grams and going on weight watchers its really happening. My doctor said i want you to try something. I believe I am finally getting this right. I figured out the world isn't going to change for me so I have to adapt to the world. Eating more protein than carbs and that is keeping the blood sugar down. I have found out also that even in an atmosphere where I am eating out I can make the right choices. I woke up andf ate my breakfast of whole grain toat with crunchy peanut butter and strawberry jam. Then I took my meds including the prednisone. Had a hard time breathing even though we have AC Even thought I might be having a heart attack. Finally just went in and laid down. Slept a lot today. Watched what I ate today but not as rigid as usual. had crackers and yogurt dip for breakfast. Roast beef and mashed potatoes at lunch. Cooked the beef in a crockpot. Last night a thunderstorm came through and knocked out the electricity so we were without any electric until this morning. At midnight we were on our way to Meadville to get gas for the generator. Our son and his family live next door. They are on REA and we are on enelec. Trees were down all over the road and one fell on the telephone line. Electric was out clear into Meadville. Thank Go... Wed, 4 Jul 2012 19:38:04 EST July 3, 2012 7/3/12 <BR> <BR> Yesterday I was so cold even though it was in the 80’s in the morning. Then in the afternoon the feet, hands, wrists and ankles swelled up. Feet were so bad I could not walk. It was so painful and I was afraid I’d break a bone if I walked on them. So I relied on the power chair all day. I took 2 prednisone in the morning but swelling did not go down so I took two more in the evening then swelling went down and pain eased. However the prednisone kept me awake until 3 ... There I saw a man 89 exercising and was told he has as much energy as a man 1/2 his age. Now back to the title of my blog. That is what I call aging gracefully.
