What a wonderful time we all had. My son traveled with me to my brother's wedding. We stayed with cousins, visited the mountains, went to Edmonton etc. Fantastic time!
I was in cycle 2 during my time away. I think I did pretty well to make good choices, but we did drink alcohol pretty much daily - but not heavily, more socially. When I weighed myself this morning I was 204.8, up from 201. I'm home from work today because my son had a fever (thankfully improving).
I've been thinking about what is challenging me and what I need to do to challenge myself to acheive my goals.
I got an e-mail feed from simplemom.net with a list of interesting questions to help us set goals for 2010. I copied & pasted some of them and answered them:

PERSONAL GROWTH

1... Wed, 6 Jan 2010 10:07:22 EST January 3rd. I feel pretty good. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2687956 Today is January 3rd. We have just had 2 days of snow and were pretty much house-bound.
I didn't exercise as I intended but I did accomplish a lot:
-I took down all my Christmas decor, put back my regular decor and cleaned the house. That took most of Friday.

-Saturday I packed the Christmas decor away (it's a lot!! )
- I cleaned up my workout room.
-I watched Monsters vrs Aliens with my family. It was really cute!
-I made a big pot of heathy soup.
... Sun, 3 Jan 2010 20:12:11 EST Dec 29th - tired. but that's okay. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2670037 Part of changing my focus is listening to my body.
I'm heading to bed in a few minutes. It's 10:23pm in Nova Scotia. I'm often up until 11:30 or midnight.
I finally made it to the treadmill a little after 10:00PM. I accomplished 15 minutes. Hey - It's better than none right?
I worked all day, picked up groceries on the way home, supper, dishes, laundry, 4 year old who refuses to go to sleep - typical day in the life right? I'm proud of myself for fitting in even a little fitnes... Wed, 30 Dec 2009 21:26:38 EST Dec 29th - I'm focused - and terribly out of shape! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2666668 I'm feeling good about starting 2010. I feel focused. Ready to commit to myself for a change. Ready to make myself a priority. The picture I've attached is from Christmas Day. I felt good. I was joking about how quickly everyone ate the smoked salmon & cream cheese ring. Man is my gut big! Nothing like a picture to tell the truth.

Tonight I finally got to my workout room at 9:30pm. I started out with trying Jackie Warner's new DVD. I think it's going to be awesome - when I'm fitter... Tue, 29 Dec 2009 21:52:06 EST Forward thinking part 2. My marathon is completed! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2449851

September 27th was an amazing day! I woke up at 5:40am and was on my way to the start line at 6:30am. I've spent the last 7 months fundraising for The Arthritis Society and Joints In Motion to participate in The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront 1/2 Marathon. I originally wanted to run the 1/2 but I had a lot of life changes this year that didn't allow me the time I really needed to train to run. I tried, I really did but... Sat, 3 Oct 2009 20:43:10 EST Forward Thinking... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2339856 Where I work we focus on competencies. One of the competencies is "Forward Thinking" ie: being able to see the big picture or the outcome of situations. It is looking for progress and who to make things happen. So I'm here to focus on Forward Thinking and how I'm going to change my frame of mind.
I have just completed my fundraising goal of $2600 for The Arthritis Society and will be completing the Toronto Waterfront 1/2 marathon next month in support of Joints in Motion.
I have be... Sun, 23 Aug 2009 20:04:55 EST Feb 24th - Change is coming http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1827221 I've slacked a lot this last few weeks. Winter blahs and some unexpected stress didn't help. I gained 3 pounds. Since last May, I've gained 19 pounds back - I refuse to see 200 again. I'm not going to allow it to happen.

Yesterday I got serious again - thanks to Runningwild & IAMAVICTOR. Together, we're pushing each other. They are wonderful friends.
I completed a Turbo Jam workout yesterday, and today I did ran 3.2K on the treadmill. Tomorrow is Turbo Sculpt for strength/car... Tue, 24 Feb 2009 21:33:13 EST New Year - New focus http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1627103 One of my other teams posed the question:

Where do you want to be health, weight and fitness wise next year at this time?

My answer was:

This time next year I want to be a lot leaner & healthier with more energy. I want to be eating healthier & exercising as a natural daily activity.

I am looking towards a more clean eating diet. More raw foods and nuts. Stepping away from pasta and baked goods. More whole grains and definitely more water each d... This is an event to help fund raise for a new hospital wing that will help treat breast cancer and do research. This was a huge commitment in that we had to raise a minimum of $2000 each and walk 60KM. One of my co-workers, approached me early in the year and asked me to participate with her. There were many many times I wanted to back out. The fundraising goal felt overwhelming at times, but we kept focuse... Mon, 18 Aug 2008 14:51:29 EST My workout room http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1329647 I finally finished my workout room (for the most part). It looks great!

I tore out the carpet, installed laminate flooring and painted the room. New window blind and cool lighting. The only things left to do is to hang a mirror on one wall and add some baseboard trim. I'd also like to add some artwork to the walls.

I have a Nordic Track Treadmill and a stationary bike, a stability ball, hand weights and resistance bands. I also have several workout DVDs.
The room... Sat, 12 Jul 2008 19:46:31 EST May 27th. Its a tough workout.
I did really well the whole day. I ate very well. I drank so much water that I think I had 10 bathroom breaks during my shift. (okay I'm exagerati...
