It was a great holiday... no responsibilities, just relaxation in a very beautiful part of the world (Banff). I ate well. That is to say, I ate in nice restaurants that served healthy food, and I made good choices--without regret! I had a few indulgences, but not too many. I stayed active most of the trip, although the last 2 days in Calgary I did not get many steps in. When I got on the scale this morning, I see that I have not gained anything. Yay!! It... Wed, 14 May 2008 21:07:36 EST The longest plateau ever http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1156875 I am not seeing any losses on the scale, and haven't for a looooong time. Over a month now. It's a little frustrating, and I'm trying to figure out what I can do to move things along. I think that for about 3 weeks I wasn't eating enough calories, so I have increased my food intake. After a week of that, still no loss, only hovering. <BR> <BR> I am thinking that I should get a heartrate monitor that calculates calorie burn, so I can get a better fix on how much I actually burn while I'm wal... Mon, 21 Apr 2008 11:06:28 EST Ups and Downs http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1101802 March has been a very trying month. There have been lots of interruptions to routine that make it hard to track food, as well as a few weeks of feeling very poorly. On top of that, we had record snowfall here and the snowbanks in front of my house are 8 feet tall. Sidewalks were covered in ice after a few mild days, and walking outside has been very treacherous. It has been really hard to stay motivated and feel like I'm making progress. <BR> <BR> Oddly enough, I am feeling highly motivated... Thu, 27 Mar 2008 23:23:45 EST Progress! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1043808 Well after a few weeks of false start, I got myself back on track. Or more correctly, a few SparkPeople HELPED me get myself back on track. The first thing I did to get back on track was to post in the Panic forum. I got some encouraging replies that helped get me kick-started. I posted a blog entry. I made myself add strength training exercises to my routine--just a few, but it's consistency that matters! And I found 2 buddies so we can encourage each other. Finally, after a few months of sn... Fri, 29 Feb 2008 09:45:30 EST Starting Fresh http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1020923 I am doing SP for the second time, and am having trouble getting back into the groove. So, I am going to start a blog to just try to make myself more accountable. Today was great, because I got on the scale and had gained 2 pounds. Why was it great? Because that was just the kick in the pants I needed to get serious! I decided right there that I needed some buddies to help keep me going down the right path. Starting today, no more excuses or rationalizations for eating things I shouldn't be e... Tue, 19 Feb 2008 17:25:42 EST
