Went to the beach had a few beers, skipped lunch and had double cheeseburger and fries from McDonald for dinner. Just a lapse though back to normal today but going to take the day off from walking. Rest Day ! <BR> Sun, 3 Jun 2012 12:47:31 EST Rainy Day It rained almost all day today. I felt lazy and didnt want to do much. Did get out and walk this afternoon with a friend 2 miles however. My husband grilled chicken tonight for dinner instead of having me fry it. He is helping in his own way with my healthier eating habits. I told him many more meals should be cooked by grill considering it is summer time. Hope you all are having a good week. Wed, 30 May 2012 23:19:48 EST Getting better at running ! I've been run/walking for the past month. Today however I made it over a half a mile before walking for a few minutes and then back to running. I am a smoker and its more my breathing that stops me rather than ability to physically run. I know I need to quit but Im just not ready at this time to put them down feel as if I would be stressed and eat more. Hope I can stop by the end of this year. Now thats a goal Im worried about. Tue, 29 May 2012 16:24:10 EST My son said the Sweetest Thing... Today was a beautiful day ! Went walking this afternoon with my son and he said the sweetest thing to me. He said, "Mommy you are always with me, even at school you are in my heart " I was tearing up doing my exercises and to think without me deciding to workout and better myself I might miss out on all these great mother / son moments alone like that, that touch my heart. then to top it off my husband cooked dinner tonight ! After my sisters wedding which was fabulous, I was so tired I completely gave up for two days and did not exercise at all. So now its time to get back on the horse and ride per say. I think I have a friend that is going to join SP as well and we are going to start walking and running together. I think it will help us both having the other for motivation and support. I am so glad that I found SparkPeople. You guys have really changed my life. I love that I'm losing weight and at the same time ... Fri, 25 May 2012 13:53:18 EST My Sister's Wedding !! My baby sis is getting married this weekend. I will be out of town two days for it. We have a rehearsal dinner and reception that I am sure will have all kinds of yummy food I should not eat. I am trying to drop an extra pound by Friday but have failed due to bad weather around here havent done much cardio this week. Should I just let go this weekend and eat what I want they did pay good money for the food, or should I keep on track and watch what I eat? I'm an Irish redhead and burn easy. At least I got the first one out of the way. I skipped out on breakfast , ate a skimpy lunch and dinner, so I need to get in some nutrients today. Went for a 4 mile bike ride this morning bright and early as usual. Need to do my strength training exercises today, I skipped out on them yesterday. Feeling good and looking forward to the results this week !! Hope you all are having a ... Tue, 8 May 2012 09:42:42 EST Busy Bee I took off Sat and Sun to recuperate. So this morning I went for a short bike ride. The rest of day was spent deep cleaning the kitchen and the rest of the house. I'm sure I burnt off quite a few calories all that I did. With cooking and cleaning after the kids this is the first moments of piece I've had all day. I dont mind though been trying to keep my mind busy. Today is my grandmothers birthday. She raised me and passed away two years ago. So its been a rough day glad its over ready for M... Sun, 6 May 2012 22:41:08 EST Day 5 Yesterday I went bike riding for 30 min, met both water and calorie intake. It was a good day. I have felt much more energized, I think mainly because I'm doing my walking or biking in the morning. The calorie counting is still a challenge. I made tacos last night and could have eaten 5 of them easy but only ate two. I did fall victim to late night chips but I'm not going to beat myself up too bad. I got up early this morning and went biking and had carrots for breakfast hopefully that will ... Wed, 2 May 2012 09:19:57 EST Day 4 I went over my calorie count today :-( Dinner did me in steak and cheese and mac and cheese double whammy ! My husband loved it, ate small portions and still went over. I did breakfast this morning which normally I skip. I did drink all my water however went biking and did my exercises. However I did not do the after stretching, I have to work on that. Here's to a better day tomorrow ! Mon, 30 Apr 2012 20:59:02 EST Day 3 Sunday was a pretty lazy day at first. Then I decided to sweep the house instead of using the vacuum. In the afternoon I took a two mile walk with the kids while they rode bikes. It was beautiful outside and I felt really good getting out and exercising a little. Its also nice getting the kids involved. I thought I had went over in my calorie count with snacking last night because around 10:30 the Doritos were calling my name and I had to have a bag. Not to mention the two fig newtons those t... Mon, 30 Apr 2012 07:33:55 EST Day 2 Nothing is going as planned but I figured that would happen. My husband let me sleep in this morning and I'm not much of a breakfast person. I skipped eating had a glass of water and cooked a huge breakfast for lunch for the family around 1:00 , grits, eggs, sausage, bacon and biscuits. I had a BLT. It was soooooo hard not to go to town on that bacon while cooking it. I'm almost scared to eat because I love it so much. I rode bikes with my kids this afternoon for around 30 min or so and skipp... Sat, 28 Apr 2012 22:46:12 EST Day 1 Well I'm starting my first day in pain from trying to exercise too much yesterday. My thighs and shins burn and abs ache. I decided to start walking / running at least 3 days out the week. I figured mornings would be the best right after I put my son on the bus. I wanted to walk for 5 min the jog for 5 min off and on for about 2 miles up the road to the water front and back home. This took me 40 min to do.
