And in between those things, changing address arranging cut offs and hook ups, gathering people to help with the moving day, AND showing people things that have been listed for sale...well, I am finding the hours in the day are not enough!

I fall into bed around 12:30 or 1 am and I am up again by 3 and doing some more. Thankfully I am coming to the end...maybe get one day to rest before actually mo... Sun, 17 Aug 2014 13:42:40 EST Club chat, cancelled until moved and computer hooked up again There will not be much of a meeting today, probably just weigh in and go. Boxes are all over the house, under the table and around it so barely any room for anyone to sit down.

I had tried to cancel meetings for today and next week, as I figured it would get like this. Maybe now they will understand and forgo meeting next week and week after... here s hoping anyways

I will probably off line in a few days and likely be until the end of the month. Meanwhile, take care a... Wed, 13 Aug 2014 11:32:28 EST crazy time! my goodness but life is a crazy mix of business right now! I am surrounded by boxes full and empty. Life is getting difficult to move around in this small place, and will be worse once I get moved cause it is a smaller space!

I have sold a couple things, but mostly I am putting stuff at the road curbside, stuff I could have got money for, but I dont have the time to mess around with a garage sale. Obviously my stuff is in good shape as it is gone from the curb within an hour...a... Sat, 9 Aug 2014 09:46:46 EST A home! for those that have followed the continuing saga of my home situation...I have found a home!

And it is the perfect one for me.

A fully newly renovated space, 1 bedroom, bathroom, and combined living area of kitchen, living room, dining room. Clean and modern basement suite. A few well placed windows giving bright daylight through the day, and a fantastic ocean view from the dominating window in the living area ( just one house blocks a small portion of the view) I will s... Wed, 6 Aug 2014 10:20:36 EST Club chat, end of july The heat has come back! Yay!

So this morning, I cut it pretty close. I cleaned windows, had to be done before the sun cleared the trees, which would have been during the meeting. I just got the cleaning stuff all put away when members started walking up the driveway, great timing!

Full house today! And we could tell it was Sea fair days this past weekend! People were cruising the beach, buying hot dogs , hamburgers, french fries, cotton candy and lord knows what else! An... Wed, 30 Jul 2014 19:49:53 EST yesterday's blog I had a pretty tough time yesterday after writing that blog. I do know though, that it has to be talked about on occcasion, or I will never get to the root of my issues and free myself from this cage of fat that I live in. Truth of the matters are that you have to face your devil's or dragons as I prefer to call them, before you can move to self healing.

And because it is still on my mind today, I am going to write about what I think the other part of my issue is.... the death... The sun finally came back to the BC coast , not as warm as it was but still, it is warm.

I read something this morning that really struck me. Though it is something one of my cousins posted for the NA and AA members, I found in my mind that it also suits some of us with weight problems After all, Drugs and Alcohol are addictions, as well as food is for some., though not all of us.

I have asked permission to copy and it was given, so see what you think..

"Havin... Mon, 28 Jul 2014 14:35:16 EST summer over already? I am beginning to think summer is over already. The summer heat came in the beginning of July... then in a blink of an eye, just as some of the locals were starting to complain( darn them) mother nature seemed to listen to them... the clouds rolled in, days cooled off and the rains started to fall....and fall

The sun has tried hard to break through on three days of the last 9 days, but it is not making it.

This morning, it has become cool enough that I have had to turn o... Thu, 24 Jul 2014 11:14:21 EST club chat, july 23 Not much to report today, as there were not many members in attendance. It was election/ installation of officers day, so rather than get nailed into a position, most of them stay away on this day. It is expected, as it happens every year, so the same few of us, do the same jobs.

I, personally, lost 8 lbs, which negates the water gain of last week. So I am ok with that. the rest of those that came, showed little losses and even smaller gains.

So we installed the officer... Wed, 23 Jul 2014 17:35:56 EST Tea sandwiches 101, part 2 ok, here are some more tea sandwich recipe ideas, a little more involved than yesterdays blog about the same. I do not always go with the standard or traditional tea sandwiches, as you may find out on this page (if you did not really notice on the previous page)

For one thing, when you cater events, you need items that will make people remember you, in this case, non traditional but tasty fare, if you want to cultivate more people to your customer base. I do not cater very oft... Tue, 22 Jul 2014 14:32:44 EST Tea sandwiches 101 (lol) As I have had a few people ask me, I will give a page on the making of tea sandwiches.

These fancy little sandwiches are quite easy to make, even though they look finicky to make, the fancy part comes more in the presentation of them, more so, than the types they are. Presentation comes in types of cuts, for lack of a better way to say it in short.

Pinwheel sandwiches are the only ones that you have to think ahead for, as you have to ask the bakery to slice the loaf of... Sun, 20 Jul 2014 16:21:37 EST club chat, july 16 Not a good day in house today! All of us gained today, unfortunately. But I suspect it is water weight for most of us. It has been so hot and after listening to the chatter while waiting for everyone to finish up with weighing in, no one was over eating....if anything were undereating, as it is just to hot to eat.

But we can say anything we want, the only proof of water weight is when suddenly it flushes off by the following week to show maintains or lower.

We finishe... Wed, 16 Jul 2014 17:45:01 EST club chat Not too much to say about today. I did lose a little, but most of the club has gained this week. Something I am finding quite normal with the gang after a holiday weekend!

I lost the most this past week to be named the weekly best loser and that is sad because it was not a big amount I lost. Can't remember exactly how much but it did not hit the one pound mark!

We did not continue our paper we started last week, as we had a fair amount to cover that came in from our hi... Wed, 9 Jul 2014 18:45:13 EST club chat, July 2 whew! It is hot out this morning! 30 I like it!

Course because my home is cement floors and in the shade all morning, it is wonderfully cool in here. I had several members ask if they could move in for the summer, as their homes are so warm already. It also meant everyone was comfortable for the meeting.

Weigh in went very well! Only one gain of very feeling guilty June (Graeme's mother). I do not think she did anything wrong, it is what it is, but ... Wed, 2 Jul 2014 14:30:30 EST Trying times I have not been home much.

home hunting is not a chore that I am enjoying. Nor is dealing with my broken wrist.

Getting in and out of cars is quite a production right now. Doing dishes is even worse...i still wish for an automatic dishwasher and am really hoping God leads me to a place with one.

Sometimes I feel like I am the kid that I was , that thought God was not listening to me. As a kid I did not understand the finalty of death, and could not figure out... Mon, 30 Jun 2014 13:41:09 EST last night The verdict finally arrived.

T\Last night I was told the property will be sold. Guess it means a definite move in my future.'

I know God will provide me with a place to go to, I just hope it will be affordable and better than this place...though that might be too much to ask for.

Trying not to be worried or upset
Wed, 25 Jun 2014 16:54:59 EST Club chat - end of June Every one was quite happy this morning! The sun is shining brightly, the day is warm already...and we had a no gain meeting!

I was even surprised at myself because I certainly was not eating in my usual style (because of not being able to cut things up) I was down 1.1 pounds, very happy with that.

Today we talked about artifical sweetners. I know a lot of people are swearing by them these days, proclaiming them to be their life savers. Funny thing though, quite a few of... Wed, 25 Jun 2014 16:51:31 EST update ", did anyone else see the new dangerous things people are doing... they put drano and water in a water/pop bottle and wrap it in tinfoil and leave it around in the sun. If you pick it up, and shake it at all, it will EXPLODE in your face... Pass on that warning..... I just did to a couple that walk and do pick up bottles..." copied from my friend Lila's blog

I know there are lots of walkers that pick up recyclables while they walk so this is a good heads up to be careful!
<B... Tue, 24 Jun 2014 13:55:52 EST learning curves Yesterday I spent from 9 am until 6:15 pm at the get a cast that took 10 minutes to put on. What a royal waste of time!

The cast...You may remember last week I told you I fell, at least, I think I said so somewhere in all the posts I made whether in reply to responses or in an actual post. Anyways, at that time I had cracked a bone in my wrist. I was to take it easy with that wrist, wearing a tensor bandage to help support it while it healed.

My body had ot... Tue, 17 Jun 2014 10:10:34 EST If you had to re live your whole life all over again, what would you change about it? If you had to re live your whole life all over again, what would you change about it?

This was a very thought provoking question, that was given on a site I am a member of. I really, seriously, gave this question thought. Thoughts as to whom I might have became
instead of whom I am today. My short answer was...

"If I had to relive my life...unlike everyone else, I wouldnt change a thing. I would take all the bad stuff , and there has been a lot of bad stuff, but I ... Sun, 15 Jun 2014 09:46:38 EST Club chat, June 11 Another quick day.

Weigh in went off without a hitch. Lots of good losses today. While my loss was not big, just a pound, I am happy with it as it is a consistent low loss. Far better than the up 2 down 3 up 1 down .5 etc, that I see others doing. I will take the small losses as they will add up.

I did not put all this weight on in a couple weeks, so I am realistic enough to know that I will not take it off in a couple months either.

That is one thing I do... Wed, 11 Jun 2014 14:43:36 EST bits and pieces I am not sure how I am doing this week..., but I will find out tomorrow anyways, so too late to worry about it!

I have not been off track, all has been accounted for, and measured before eating.

I just feel like a chunky monkey. if you know what I mean. My fingers are feeling like fat sausages, which usually is a sign that my kidneys are acting up and making me take on water weight. Perhaps it will slough off over night, if not....well I do know why I am up on the scal... Tue, 10 Jun 2014 14:10:47 EST prepared for jump starting myself In my efforts to still have a few favorite dishes that I make, I have tried to skinny them up. This is not always as easy to do as some people think. In some cases, you really do have to sacrifice some of the original flavours, that you perhaps really like the dish for.

One example is my own personal recipe for chicken chow mein. I do not make it the way the restaurants do, nor do I make it the one some of the deli's around here make it. And not even the way it says to make it on ... Thu, 5 Jun 2014 17:01:28 EST Club chat June 4 here we are at wed morning weigh in once again. Though it is a bright sunshiney day, the wind is blowing bitter cold! No one walked over this morning

Weigh in went by quickly! Quicker than usual, and the meeting as well! I was really surprised, it was like everyone's pants were on fire or something! Discussion were quick, to the point and mostly club business today.

Weigh ins were a little tough today. Several members had a few days of party time, birthdays and annive... I wanted to blog, wanted to answer some of your blogs and mail, but I have had a big problem until now.....the batteries died in my mouse. Running short of batteries, was not my idea of fun, I usually have several in reserve but guess I did not notice I had used my reserves.

So I had to share a battery back and forth from keyboard and mouse, one would work while the other wouldn't. At first I would go back and forth at will bu... Wed, 28 May 2014 19:55:10 EST Club chat I will start with the club chat as that was this morning meeting,...

It all went very well. a few dared to walk over for the meeting this morning, it was pretty chilly out first thing. So chilly there was condensation on my windows this morning! Very unusual for this time of year...

Once again we had a very small overall loss for the group Graeme had another whopper of a gain, so it wiped everyone elses losses out. Seven weeks in a row now, I have had losses and one ... Wed, 28 May 2014 18:39:11 EST The comfort battle

I have been fighting what I am calling the comfort battle. It has been rainy and cooler for the last 6 or 7 days now, than it was before that. I went from wearing shorts and tank tops working in the gardens to winter slacks and sweaters again...I am not impressed with Mother Nature right now.

Usually once I get into my shorts and tanks...slacks and sweaters are all put away until October ....sigh sure isnt going the way it should..

So this weather is so unp... Mon, 26 May 2014 14:10:14 EST Club chat, may 21 A cooler morning today but by the time everyone was leaving the sun was starting to break through the clouds...not sure if it will stay though . The forecast has been calling for rain every day for the last week, and this morning was the closest to looking like it would rain, so maybe this afternoon it will , just because I have a hired lawn cutter to come in and clean up around the yard ( I can not walk or see good enough to cut the lawn)

So weigh in commenced on time, with a ... Wed, 21 May 2014 13:35:01 EST club chat, may 15 A day late for our meeting but no one minded. We were all just glad to get our numbers for the week, which is basically all we did. Sort of an informal weigh in.

Didn't turn out that way intentionally. While we were weighing in my cousin susan and her hubby showed up. Just got off the ferry from Vancouver Island, on their way out the north highway to the dry dock where their sailboat is. They stopped by to pick up an air mattress as they are varnishing in the boat tonight and wil... Thu, 15 May 2014 16:57:17 EST club meeting/chat thursday Several people had phoned yesterday with appointments and not being able to come to the meeting, so I phoned everyone and asked if they would rather meet on thursday instead of today. Everyone agreed, as they really didn't want to miss weighing in... throws some of us off when we don't weigh in every week. So all is good.

The saga of my life is continuing. A couple of gentlemen from my church have been concerned about my living conditions which I had mentioned in another blog.... Wed, 14 May 2014 19:28:25 EST updates I have managed to get myself in control once again...I don't think I did too much damage to myself and my aspirations to losing weight. Because I knew I was emotional eating, I would use that as a meal rather than have the proper meal as well as the junk I was eating. That was my behavior in the past, so I am trying this out. I am sure it should work...but I will know in a couple days, now won't I?

Graeme has said he was doing ok on the food end of it all., but not too sure about... Mon, 12 May 2014 14:00:35 EST In the throes of emotional eating I had a terrible day today.

The day started off with a series of blood tests I had to have done. The sent my day awry right off the bat, as I had to fast, which meant, no breakfast at 4 -4:30 am as my usual routine goes. A bad start to this day.

I was at the Lab by 8 am...and had to wait until just after 9 for my turn.

Theres been a standing order to have all blood tests done from the back of my hand for the last 2 years. Thu, 8 May 2014 18:55:09 EST food brain It is only 10 am, but I am having a bit of a struggle today. Probably because I have been awake most of the night.

I ended up having breakfast at around 3:15 this morning as for some strange reason, my blood sugars were heading for a crash, so I chose to eat a little earlier than usual.
And that was fine, an on track breakfast for me, just a little early as I usually have a light breakfast between 4 and 4:30 am.

I also usually have a piece of fruit around 9 am. That was really nice to see.

Weigh in went smoothly with quite a few member coming in with a loss on the scales. Graeme and his mother were not here this morning.

Update: Graeme had to go to Vancouver to see a specialist about his problem with the fluid build up in his cheeks. Wed, 30 Apr 2014 14:36:13 EST decisions about cheese I am making another decision.

I admittedly am a cheesaholic! I LOVE cheese....ANY kind of cheese. I even started eating light cheese just to keep it in my diet but you know what? I think the light cheeses may have more salt in I have not looked on the labels to be sure. This thought works better for me with out checking...because then I will stop eating it. Mon, 28 Apr 2014 17:45:23 EST idly thinking I have been idly thinking... of the blogs I wrote the first time I was on SP. I wrote everyday that time, about all subjects to do with weight loss that I have learned over my 30 some years as a a participant in TOPS, whether as a weight recorder or a leader.

After a year and a half at it, I was getting kind of burned out about the blogging all the time. Sat, 26 Apr 2014 17:51:06 EST club chat, apr 23 there was a lot of groaning, moaning and blaming it on Easter Ham today...very few mentioned chocolates but I know we have a few chocoholics in the group as well.

The weigh in numbers were not positive today...Graeme was the biggest gainer....10 lbs. He blamed Ham, chocolate and love. Both his mother and his wife, who both know better, bought 2 lb chocolate bunnies and he admitted that he gorged on ham and all the fixings for Easter dinner.

One lady put on 5 lbs, ever... Wed, 23 Apr 2014 22:56:39 EST Easter Happy Easter to you all. I hope you are getting through this holiday without going too far off track.

It is a stressful holiday for some people. Everyone cheered for Spark team member Ima! Nice big fat 5 lbs down! yay!

Today We talked about Hormones, Menopause and body changes that can cause weight gains. It is funny how the weather can set the tone for meetings/events and what not, isn't it?

This morning everyone was chatting away, while waiting their turn to weigh in. Most of the winter, the people might make the odd comment but would mostly just stand and wait their turn. So it was lovely to hear the happy chatter once again, as they waited. Fri, 21 Mar 2014 14:13:58 EST Club chat Another not so good week for this club....the members weigh in netted 7.5 lbs gain overall.
I was responsible for 2 lbs of that gain and I blame it on the travelling last week. Graeme, also, had a gain

I always seem to gain when I go to the city docs and have to stay for more than a day.
It means restaurant foods, in most cases.
