They have told me I would benefit more of having a private coach because all I need to work on is the techniques of swimming! I was so excited! I guess I put more pressure on myself. They told me my freestyle was perfect, just want me to work on speed. Wed, 1 Aug 2012 11:13:55 EST Yea swimming! Well today was my 1st swimming lesson! It went actually very well. I was truely surprised when my coach said I was a good swimmer! I put a lot of pressure on myself when it comes to working out. I am very competitive & always want to be the best I can be. I am so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. I was very apprehensive about today. But it was ok! I am healing a sore knee & getting a brand new workout to boot! I really want to do a Triathalon one of these days so that is another reason ... Those of you who have read my blogs before know about my knee problems. I know swimming is great excercise but I am scared. I think I could save myself if I really had to. I know my knees really need a break. I just hope I am getting a good enough workout compared to my running. I don't want to gain any of weight back that I have tried so hard to get off. I have been putting everything into me losing weight. Working out really hard, taking my vitamins, totally changed my diet, trying to get more rest. My knees are starting to give me problems. They are very very sore. I have laid off running for about 3 days. That is my excercise of choice. Tried running yesterday on the treadmill & about 10 minutes into the run my left knee was killing me... Not what I really wanted but a least it's heading in the right direction. My workout yesterday was a long run. Almost 7 miles! It was very nice outside not as hot. Knees very sore today thou. Looks like swimming for me today. Need to give my knees a break. I am so very thankful everyday that the Lord has given me a healthy body that I can workout & enjoy it as much as I do. I tried running yesterday & Monday. The pain was to much so I resorted back to the precor machine. Aggravated & didn't want to. I am so proud of me & my husband for staying on our diet plan & eating healthy for our whole trip! We brought our lunches fixed in our hotel room, ate healthy breakfast at hotel & ate our dinners out, but choose healthy options. This is the 1st time we have ever gone on vacation & stuck to our plan the whole time! You can do this when you travel just plan ahead what you are going to eat & pack your coolers. We had our ... I was so lucky where we are staying we are right beside Charleston Southern University. It has paved roads all around the school & no traffic & even some shade areas to run around. It was perfect! Well doing squats last week in my boot camp class (thinking that I am 20 again) holding to much weight & squatting down way to far I pulled a muscle or a tendon in my groin area. Ouch! I tried running for the next couple of days after that class & oh my very painful. So then not wanting to choose another form of cardio that would give me the same workout that running gives me. I don't really go by the scales I go more how my clothes fit me. I have hit a plateau. I have been reading lately on plant based diets. I'm not much of a meat eater so I think it would be ok for me. Starving took my shower proceed to start fixing dinner & a terrible storm blows thru & we lost power! Ugh! Ok this doesn't help that I could eat everything in my kitchen cabinet right now. Wow was it hot! 93 degrees & the humidity was in the 100's! Not use to running in the heat yet. It has been pretty mild here in North Carolina. I drink lots & lots of water! Yea for my water points. Felt so good when I was done. Ran for 50 minutes. Yippie! Getting ready for today. It's still going to be hot but I am determined to stay fit! Opened up the office this am & having to close late this afternoon. Long days are really hard to get up the energy to go workout. But I do because afterwards it will feel great! It has been a while since I tried brown rice. When I did try it I hated it! It was hard very bland taste didn't like it at all. As that was not enough I took a power cut class for a HOUR! Body is so exhausted but in a good way! It is amazing what your body can actually do when you have the drive! So tired didn't feel like working out at all. I was very proud of myself ran 50 minutes on the treadmill & did 15 minutes of core training.
