Tue, 22 Oct 2013 00:39:30 EST My new 50 States Map http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5518972 Some know that I am a 50 Stater. Meaning I am pursuing the goal of running at least one Hafl Marathon or greater in each of the 50 states. I am now at 19+/50+. The + means I have done Washington DC because just like in the realm of taxation, DC has no representation in the 50 States Half Marathon Club.

50 States also has another challenge of running 100 Half Marathons. Greater distances don't count here. So the two full marathons and two 20-milers don't count. Even so I am at 31/10... Mon, 21 Oct 2013 00:32:25 EST About my Jury Duty: I should play the Power Ball http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5518190 I have been called to jury duty many times. Sometimes it entails sitting around waiting for my number to not get called until they dismiss us. For most people that is the norm. For me, my number does get called and when that happens it is a lead pipe cinch that I will get picked.

I am now 5-0 entering the courtroom. Come on people. Ther are people who have never served before. Give them a chance.

Just lucky I guess.

And what are the chances that I should drop ... Sun, 20 Oct 2013 01:16:45 EST Run report from Baltimore Half Marathon http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5517273 It's been more than a week since I last posted. I do have numerous things to post about, but maybe first ought to be what I talked about last: the Half Marathon in Baltimore last Saturday.

Howard Street Bridge, why do you hate me so much?

The Marathon was won this year not by a Kenyan, but by a local man. It was a surprise to see a white man in the lead. At first I asked if maybe he was a Ukrainian.... Fri, 11 Oct 2013 02:16:45 EST Medical Humor http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5509452 Margaret took her pet duck to the veterinarian.

"Doctor, I don't know what's wrong with my duck, Cuddles. He used to be so active, so playful, so full of life. Now he just lies around all day. It's like he just doesn't care."

The doctor looked at Cuddles and felt more sorry for his client than for his patient.

"Margaret, I am sorry to have to tell you this, but Cuddles is dead." <BR... Tue, 8 Oct 2013 21:21:50 EST Taking 110 volts (Surprise!) and getting Herself to apologize (Kind of) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5507541 I have worked with electricity since I was about 16. I have taken my fair share of jolts. Even recently, last week in fact, I was working on a circuit and I had switched off the wrong breaker. But that time I only got a mild buzz, just enough to be aware that it was a hot circuit.

Yesterday, same room, but I definitely had the right breaker off. I left it off when I cleaned up last night and this morning when I went back to work I was stripping the black (hot) wire with a metal box... Tue, 8 Oct 2013 00:31:39 EST Mmmm -- Indian food http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5505608 Posting just a shorty tonight.

Basically because I got nuthin'. I suppose I cannot be witty and erudite every evening. And really some of the best stuff pops into my head through one ear and out the other when I have nothing to write one. Paper and pencil in my pocket might work, but then there is no guarantee it would be legible even to me.

We tried Indian cuisine this weekend. By "we" I mean that I finally prevailed upon She(WMBO) to venture into an Indian restaurant f... Sat, 5 Oct 2013 23:30:00 EST
