Seeing images of people who used to weigh close to what I weigh succeed in getting fitter really inspires me. Before and after pictures are great. I have a hard time visualizing how I'll look at my goal weight, so seeing the changes in people that I can relate to helps a lot. Sat, 7 Apr 2012 00:54:17 EST Anyone want to tell me about their assessment by a personal trainer? I'm a little nervous! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4815158 My mom bought me 6 sessions with a personal trainer! She'll be seeing him herself for 6 sessions, too! I'm excited for us, and grateful that she is helping me in this way. Also--I'm really nervous! Ideally, I'd like to be trained by someone kind of like me, but more fit (for now, anyways :) ). My trainer is a very muscular guy, and I don't know how well we'll relate to each other. I'm really excited--I go for my assessment on Tuesday (let's hope it isn't too invasive!). Anyone been for one o... Sun, 1 Apr 2012 15:03:11 EST Goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4800724 I've been thinking... This weight loss thing goes pretty slowly. I understand. I've gotten into the low 190s a few times over the past 2 years. I'll be happy to get there again as I lose weight, but I'm really looking forward to seeing "18" at the beginning of my weight! That'll feel like a real accomplishment. Patience... Fri, 23 Mar 2012 00:54:16 EST Lovely Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4799010 Today was a beautiful day--sunny and breezy and lovely. And, I managed to fit some fun time in, and not just do work (I did a lot of work, but I went out with my family too)--it was so nice!

I also exercised, which makes me feel great. Went for a walk for an hour and then did a 5-minute core workout (Shape video) and a 12-minute lower body workout (different Shape video). Hurrah!

Now I’m getting ready for bed.

I’m working on staying at 1200 calories/day, and t... Wed, 21 Mar 2012 23:52:33 EST Weigh in--and Cooking! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4794198 Today I weighed in--my first official weigh in since i started Spark. I weighed 205 this morning--down 4 from 209! Yesterday I discussed my starting weight a bit--I'm not sure 209 was correct. No matter--I'm happy to be eating the right amount of calories and losing fat! I'm so looking forward to being healthier and weighing less than 200 pounds.

I've decided to really go for 1200 calories each day. As I mentioned, my doctor recommended it, so I feel that it is safe for me.
... Sun, 18 Mar 2012 23:50:20 EST Unofficial Weigh In: Argh http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4792697 I ate 500 extra calories today. Yesterday I went on a date and managed to stay within my limit (I may have been over a bit). I've been doing so well, and enjoying the process, and then I decided to eat too much. I know why. Will this knowledge help me to succeed?

I ate too much because I lost faith in my plan for just long enough to consume 2000 calories. My starting weight of 209 is a few weeks old, and may not have been accurate. I took it at the end of the day while fully clothe... Sat, 17 Mar 2012 22:35:53 EST Hectic http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4789987 Life has been really hectic lately. I've been doing my best. I am meeting some of my goals. I am eating the right amount of calories. I'm finding it hard to eat all the right things, though. And I don't have time to enter full nutritional info right now, even though I'd like to track it. I'm glad that I'm tracking my food--it helps to see that I'm meeting my caloric goal.

I haven't been getting an hour of exercise in every day. I considered changing my goals, but decided not to--t... Fri, 16 Mar 2012 01:26:59 EST Worked out for an hour at 1:00 a.m.! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4784914 I was away from 8:50 a.m. to 9:20 p.m.. Busy day. Very tired. At the same time, I wanted to work out. I realize I will always have competing priorities. I need to make sure that my actions reflect the high value that I place on my health... I need to work out even when I have other very important things to do. So, at 1:00 a.m., I put on my workout gear and did a belly dance workout video for an hour!! So happy! And, although I'm very tired now (it's late!), it felt great to exercise!
<B... Tue, 13 Mar 2012 03:55:08 EST My calories are okay, but I need more nutrition! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4781457 Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive and helpful already! I appreciate it! I now have a sweet little tracker, too.

I had a feeling I may not be able to work out today, so I made sure to get at least a small walk in. It was actually more of a run-jump-walk, and it was really fun, even if it only lasted about 7 minutes! My free time (and my favourite time to work out) is at night. Clearly, though, I can't always wait until I'm done everything else I need to do in a day befor... Sun, 11 Mar 2012 01:01:48 EST Where I've been and where I'm going. A little introduction. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4780032 I've become more fit and healthy over the past several years. There was a time when I wouldn't even try to run; when I weighted 242 pounds; when my main motivation for eating right and exercising was to lose weight. I know that I've done myself a disservice by being all or nothing in the past--no moderation, no wiggle room. But, for the past few years I've become more active and made an effort to eat well and drink lots of water. I'm a vegetarian and I LOVE cold water and my SIGG. I don't hav...
