As a busy, working mom, I am just not finding the time to take care of myself and exercise. (My daughter just turned two, and I am currently above my peak pregnancy weight!) I am starting a meal replacement program (HNT HealthOne) that is fairly low calorie, but allows you to supplement with fruits and vegetables. I don't see her very often. I've probably talked her 4 times since moving to New Jersey (which was in 2006). She was out walking her dog and just happened to be standing next to the marker post that marked my goal, and end of run. So I stopped running and went over and said Hi. At first she probably thought i was any ol' runner on the trail (in this town, its normal to say Hi or Good Morning to people you pass on the trail),... Sat, 5 Sep 2009 09:58:35 EST Back to jogging, finally. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2038532 I finally made it back out onto the trail this morning, for a short walk / jog (25 minutes, 1.5 miles). I haven't been outside yet this spring, and my last time on the treadmill was March. I decided to ease into it, especially since I don't know how the sciatica will react. It was such a beautiful, exhilirating run. Damp trees, empty path, and everything so fresh and green, the leaves almost seemed florescent. I jogged and walked and jogged some more. Its strange. One run and I'm alrea... Tue, 5 May 2009 08:28:08 EST I've been slipping, and I'm declaring war on it! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2004924 Ok, so things have been a bit crazy and I've not been as focussed on the diet and exercise as I once was. I've just been doing induction for the past week, and I'm already down 1.4 pounds. WooHOO! This is a good start :-) I wanna be in the 160s for summer! I have 2 more nights to go, and then I will FINALLY be home for several months. The damage so far has been a few pounds ( I'm at 176 right now). Although I can't say I've been bad per se (except for a few days at Christmas when I did have some carbs I shouldn't have), its just that I haven't been GOOD ENOUGH to keep from gaining. I made it to the gym today and two time last week. I'm just soooo looking forward to getting back ... Sun, 11 Jan 2009 21:17:57 EST I'm on a Spark Streak, and I didn't even know it! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1539131 So I just discovered something and I am WAAYY psyched about it. I've exercised/been active in some way at least once a week for the past 12 weeks. Exercise has become a way of life, and I didn't even realize it! How awesome is that!?!?!?

So, I am declaring an official Spark Streak, and setting a new Spark Streak Goal. I have been active at least once a week for the past 12 weeks. Sun, 13 Jul 2008 19:26:32 EST A day at the gym...in shorts!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1304062 So I went to the (non-airconditioned) gym today, and since it was so hot there, I ditched my usual yoga pants and grabbed a pair of soccer shorts (that I haven't worn in years) instead. I was feeling a little nervous about that for a few reasons. One- I don't really like the look of my legs in shorts. Two- I don't like to watch myself jiggle in the mirrors at the gym. Three- in a word: 'thigh-chafe'.

What a surprise! The jiggle in my legs was suddenly replaced by quad muscles.... Mon, 30 Jun 2008 20:06:53 EST Holy Cow I've lost weight! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1270357 I tried on the bridesmaid dress today. THis is the one that I was really worried about fitting into last August. I can now put it on and take it off without using the zipper. A very very cool moment. Hubby helped me capture it by taking these photos. I clearly have no perspective of how much I've lost because I was thinking that the dress would be 'a little big' on me. lol.

Sat, 14 Jun 2008 20:24:59 EST Groovy new clothes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1262200 Lately, I've been really enjoying shopping for clothes. This is a new phenomenon for me, because usually I would HATE how I looked in everything. Now I want to buy everything because I'm just so giddy that I'm trying on 10s and 12s. This is one of my latest acquisitions, at a recent event! The red cheeks are due to too much red wine! lol

I've also discovered that Goodwill has great clothes since I don't plan to stay this size for long!!!

Tue, 10 Jun 2008 18:39:01 EST One Year Spark Anniversary http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1129935 Well, today was my one year Spark Anniversary, and the whoosh never happened. I don't think I ever really believed I could do it. I'm not sure I really believe that I've done it! pinch me?

I celebrated with a bunless burger and a diet coke!

Just also wanted to recognize so many of my great spark friend... Tue, 8 Apr 2008 22:41:36 EST Coming up on 1 year Spark Anniversary http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1077036 So my spark anniv. is April 8th, and i REALLY want to hit the 50 pound mark by then. I'm down to 175.0 today, so I only have 1.2 pounds to go until I'm in the 173's (I crop the decimal, so I consider myself at 173 regardless if its 173.8 or 173.0). That leaves me 24 days to lose 1.2 pounds. I think that is defintely do-able. SO CLOSE I CAN TASTE IT!

I already have plans to go out that night and celebrate! Probably with a big steak lol!

I did another virtual model to... Thats only 1lb for the ENTIRE month of February. I definitely started to stray from good eating habits. Too many frankenfoods! Too much Dreamfields. After a week of back to basics, I'm down a pound. So easy to stray into that frankenfood territory, but now that I know about my new love for Blue bunny ice cream, Dreamfields and Atkins bars, I know that I have to restrict myself.

Another nice side effect of this past week was a sudden abili... I had to go get 3 people to confirm that it wasn't too tight on me before I bought it. ( i reallly needed a new coat, the one I have been wearing is an 18 and it looks like I can hide children in all of those excess folds of fabric!)

Then i went across the road to the Gap, and bought a pair of size 12 pants (and a size 14 too).

Woooooooooohhhooooooooooo:-) Thu, 27 Dec 2007 09:55:41 EST My low carb birthday cake (lol) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=854403 I have some awsesome coworkers, eh?

They did buy some cake for everyone else, but I didn't eat any. The dress was slightly too big.

Sounds wonderful?! Yes, it is. ... Wanted to be around 180 for the wedding. Probably won't make that goal, but actually realized it was a pretty silly goal anyways.
