The good news, however, is that I was actually disappointed when things came up and derailed my exercise plans. That's certainly a good sign.

I just have to figure a way to fit in exercise regardless of how busy life gets. I can't wait for things in my life to calm down so it will be easier to work out. This IS life.

I know that people who exercise in the AM have more success in sticking with their... Fri, 15 Mar 2013 22:42:11 EST mixed results today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5285864 Did pretty well today. Calories 1226 & 8 waters. I hadn't planned any exercise today, since I'm easing myself into it. I figured I'd give myself a midweek day off.

But I did plan to have 2 F&V, and never worked the 2nd one in. I didn't plan for it specifically and just thought I'd work it in somewhere, but I got busy and.....
Lesson learned. PLAN the specifics of my F&V.

So tomorrow's goals:
1600 calories (I know I've been staying well under my max, but I'm s... Wed, 13 Mar 2013 22:28:09 EST following through again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5284551 Made it through a second day of sticking with my goals. My calories were 1255, had my 8 waters (water is always pretty easy for me), and had my 2 F&V (not so easy). Even did the 5 dreaded ST exercises. 362

I appreciate those of you who've taken the time to post a comment - it does help a lot. You never know when someone will say the one thing that sticks with you, that makes a difference.
But even if nobody comments, just knowing that I stated things publicly is h... Tue, 12 Mar 2013 22:29:37 EST I Followed Through http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5283167 Well, I did what I said I'd do today:
calories below my max of 1650: 1429
8 waters
2 F&V
20 min. walk

I reminded myself every once in a while throughout the day that I was going for a walk after work. Knowing that I put it in a blog put pressure on me to follow through.

Tomorrow's goals:
calorie max 1650
8 waters 2 F&V
5 ST exercises

This will be tougher, since I hate ST. Again, public pressure should help. Mon, 11 Mar 2013 22:15:22 EST Stating my Goals Publicly http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5281713 I'm really having trouble sticking to what I say I'll do. So I'm hoping that if I put it out there and say what my goals are for tomorrow, I'll feel more committed to following through.

So, tomorrow:
Calorie limit 1650
waters 8
F&V 2
cardio 20 min.

I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's better than I've been doing lately. Even baby steps are still progress, right? 30 Sun, 10 Mar 2013 21:30:37 EST So Easily Turned http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5015234 Wow, have I fallen off the wagon. I had been journaling, at least 3 or 4 times a week, since I started this process in April. I haven’t journaled in about 3 weeks. And, interestingly, in the last 2 weeks, I’ve gotten way off track: stopped exercising; not always tracking my food; not getting my minimum F&V; eating a lot of things that aren’t good for me, in quantities that shouldn’t be.

Wow. That’s sad.
After all the progress I made, after the 11# I lost, after all the posti... Wed, 27 Jun 2012 15:22:57 EST UNTIL... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4930211 I was looking through some old articles about weight loss and I found something interesting. It was from the first of the year, a time when most of America starts a new fitness program, complete with a laundry list of resolutions for change.

How many New Years (or Mondays, even?) have you thought about all the things you're going to do differently in order to lose weight? Only to have things implode after a short time.
This article said that, in order to create realistic goa... Sun, 17 Jun 2012 14:31:52 EST My First Blog - Some Thoughts http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4923429 Okay, so the One Day Challenge team challenged us to blog yesterday. I know I’m a day late, but I journal a lot and didn’t feel the need to blog. But a challenge is a challenge......

Where to begin? I’ve been down this weight loss road more times than I can count. In the past 30 years, my weight has yoyo-ed between 125 and 175. Somehow, I knew that if I went above 175, there’d be no going back. Anything over that number would personally seem too overwhelming to lose, and I knew I’d... Tue, 12 Jun 2012 14:13:13 EST
