I work very hard with my workouts, I eat reasonably well most of the time... but the scale doesn't move and I am just not feeling good about things. The fitness blender eBook I bought does a great job explaining each workout on its own page but one thing it is lacking is it doesnt remind you when to rest. There is a calendar that shows what to do when but I was assuming when I turned the page to the next day it would have said "Rest". I ran 1.25 miles on my treadmill as a warmup, did a 26 minute boot camp workout, 21 minute abs workout, and then stretched it out. I felt very spent by the end of this... and then I remembered the 20 pushups.

I have a streak going - for the last 151 days straight I have done at least 20 pushups each day - without fail. Tonight I almost decided to let that streak die.

I begrudgingly decided to try. My first attempt yielded 6 pushups. UGH.... I came to the realization that I really must favor my right side, and I am probably doubly flexible on my right side as my left. I have occasional left knee problems so I'm not sure if I am subconsciously babying it or what. I do know that my friend told me there is a local sports rehab place that will give a free screen to all runners so I think thats something I may do to see what I am doing wrong.

Anyway, the workout started out with cardio (focu... I have made a decision that after tracking my food religiously for the past 6-8 months and having a stagnant scale, I am going to stop doing it for awhile. Its one thing to spend so much time tracking when it's yielding great results on the scale but this doing it and getting no results is for the birds. So now its time to see if I can do it without the tracker. Mindfulness is where it's at! I went to a summer party yesterday and was the opposite of mind... I have it forever, so I can restart or do it any time I want... but now just isn't the time. Fit Test Results http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5703360 I have completed my first 2 weeks of Insanity and it was time to measure my progress by the fit test. How these work is you take one on day 1 and them every 2 weeks. It is a series of exercises that you do AMRAP (as many reps as possible) in 1 minute. If the program is working as it should be you should improve each time. I am happy to say mine did :)

The first one was my initial fit test and then today's. Every day I aim to increase the good stuff (darn me for doing 14,000 steps on day 1 when I was all gung ho - getting harder to increase each day!) and keep the calories under 1500 each day. So far doing great on everyth... Thu, 11 Jul 2013 13:38:28 EST Ahh Technology http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5416621 There are literally no excuses to not get some fitness in each day. I get bored easily so I like a lot of different sources for workouts. Gone are the days where I do a set of DVD's for a full month. Now at the snap of the finger (or click of the mouse) I can get any and every kind of workout I have ever imagined.

I currently pull workouts from the following sources:
Skimble Phone (Android) App
IPad apps
Youtube
Various free websites (SP, Doyogawithme, etc. etc.... Wed, 10 Jul 2013 10:54:16 EST 10 Days of "Perfection" http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5414098 After a pretty active but also food-centered long weekend, I am finding the need to get back to good, especially with the eating. So I am doing the next 10 days, which leads to our family vacation, eating as close to perfect as I can. I am tracking and will try to stay toward the lower end of my range as often as possible. I will be doing my standard exercise but the focus is on food. The focus is also off the scale... it is tucked away under the bathroom sink until Wed July 17. I have a feel... Mon, 8 Jul 2013 09:27:57 EST Slow and Steady http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5404360 Just a weight update... it has been very slow going but now I am doing about a pound to a pound and a half per week. Sometimes it frustrates me but I have to keep reminding myself that slow and steady is the best way to lose weight. I might not be having big 4 lb weeks, but I am not a contestant on the Biggest Loser... I have all the time I need to get healthy and stay that way. I am now down 33 lbs from the day I gave birth with about 20 left to get to prebaby weight. And 27 to get to ultima... Fri, 28 Jun 2013 08:42:34 EST Chobani Steppin' It Up! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5402257 Just had to say I am really digging the snack choices from Chobani... the "bite" yogurts that are 100 calories and satisfy the sweet tooth, and now the "Flip" portions that come with yogurt and tasty add ins while still being pretty nutritious. YUM! Glad I found these :) Wed, 26 Jun 2013 10:03:54 EST What I am Up To - in Pics http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5392398 I am back to work now so my blogs may become fewer and further between. But I am still keeping the Spark alive. I am doing well on my fitness journey finally. Starting to drop some weight and feeling like I'm doing things right. My plan of action is to get my 20 minutes (or more) first thing in the morning. Emmy normally wakes up around 5 and will eat and then snooze for another hour and a half so that's my window of opportunity. Then I will get ready and help my family get out the door. Firs... Mon, 17 Jun 2013 18:51:34 EST A Radical Change in Focus http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5387943 I have really been thinking about where I am and where I am going on my fitness journey. This week I shifted my focus from exercise to food, in the short term, to see if it would help the scale which has been STUCK in the low 170s for weeks. WEEKS, friends. The weight should have been pouring off me post-baby, right? Getting those pounds off should have been like taking candy from a baby, no pun intended. But it hasn't been, and the pounds have not been. I have been exercising like a FIEND fr... Thu, 13 Jun 2013 11:27:39 EST Christening Weekend - Pics http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5384186 I stayed in range all weekend! It was a great weekend with the exception of the receptionist at the restaurant we had our big family meal at after the church... she asked me if I knew what I was having yet... apparently I still look pregnant enough to ask that. It really ruined my mood for a few hours!

<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeople.com/nw/8... Mon, 10 Jun 2013 08:12:05 EST Food vs. Exercise - Experiment http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5382170 I am struggling with the scale not reflecting the work I feel I am putting in so I am trying something different this weekend. I am going to focus almost solely on what goes into my mouth instead of trying to crank out tons of fitness minutes. Because lets face it, I am putting in the time, working out hard, and according to my heart rate monitor, burning over 400 calories each day. So why am I stuck at the exact same weight for weeks? It has to be the food.

I have been tracking -... Sat, 8 Jun 2013 07:54:58 EST
