I doubled my riding time on my trainer today. It even felt good. I could have gone longer but wanted to save time for another jog.

Now that I am able to workout longer, I'm finding myself much hungrier. Always on my mind is, "What can I snack on now?" I had to make a doable plan to help me overcome these ragin' cravin's.

1. I take 20 minutes to decide if I am truly hungry or if I am simply just craving. It is not fair to myself, because I haven't gotten home in time for a regular workout in the last three consecutive days. Thank goodness I have a walking buddy for 10-20 minutes of motivation during lunch and for another 20-45 minutes after work each day.

I am going to practice paying more attention to me and my fitness plan. I ate only what was suggested on the menu and liked most of it, and I did six workouts; three lifting and three aerobic. Some days it got late and I really, really didn't want to workout, but I never doubted that I'd do it.

In the beginning I had completely made up my mind just to follow my plan and that there were no other options, so that is it. It was easy and empowering to make the right choices and to fight off the cravings and temptations. Fri, 11 Jan 2013 23:36:10 EST Tomorrow is the Official Starting Date http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5200970 This morning when I was getting ready for work, I had a few reservations about my ability to succeed on my new mission of health and fitness. I start the 12-week commitment tomorrow-Jan 11-and am both excited and reserved. On the first I thought I was fully ready. Now that I'm looking the commitment in the face, I question my confidence.

At lunch today friends kindly listened to my doubts and encouraged me fully. Now, once again, I feel like I can do it. Wed, 20 Jun 2012 16:40:19 EST Happy to be Back http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4438604 As much as I enjoyed teaching graduate education classes last year, I am thrilled to be back in my K - 12 visual arts room. I missed all of my students and the challenge of making learning about art fun for everybody.

All of the great things I learned from the students in my grad. classes had been sitting in my files waiting to be edited for my visual arts classroom, and they can now be applied to my arts units and lessons. Tue, 16 Aug 2011 23:38:55 EST Back to School Tomorrow http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4429498 Summer break comes to an end today. Work starts tomorrow. Additionally, lifting will once again be part of the routine. Been pretty anxious to start lifting but decided to start when the school year starts.
