SUZIEQUE77's SparkPeople Blog SUZIEQUE77's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Vacation and now back home I spent two weeks in the south, enjoying warm weather. It is sort of painful to return back home to "winter" and as for many, this winter is particularly brutal.

My workload has also increased, due to work that I have somewhat put off while on vacation, and the addition of two new classes to the already existing workload. I don't feel like working! Uggh.

I want to go through my vacation pictures and put a DVD video together. But I don't have time right now because I have... Tue, 3 Mar 2015 09:03:44 EST End of January Okay, I briefly mentioned my son's divorce and the fact that I got a divorce myself back in 1992.

I was looking for some old papers (actually immunization records for myself, but didn't find them). I did find my divorce papers and started reading through them. Wow! Did I never fully read them before or did I forget what they said? There were just some surprising things in there (negative details about my ex) . I recalled some of them, but not others. It was strange reading through... Thu, 29 Jan 2015 12:45:01 EST New Year Blog Here is is January 2, 2015. The years fly by. 2014 was not really a good year for me. I have suffered along with my son as his wife left him this summer. Even though I have been through a divorce myself, in some ways, mine seemed less dramatic and more peaceful.

My daughter in law told me many times over the years that she hated her family's "drama" and was glad to be away from it. Yet this year, she created more drama than I have ever seen before and it has been totally devastatin... Fri, 2 Jan 2015 08:43:26 EST New Year Blog Here is is January 2, 2015. Fri, 2 Jan 2015 08:43:06 EST Get to know your Sparkfriends This is borrowed from another member's blog I saw (Clarire in Paris)

I like these sort of activities so here are some of my answers to posed questions:

1. Sat, 5 Jul 2014 22:02:04 EST Before and After photos I have mentioned this topic before and talked about how I have few "before" photos.
I have no photos of me at my highest non-pregnant weight of over 200 lbs (even higher when pregnant, of course).

Anyway, a topic in the Café about photos reminded me of this. So many don't want their picture taken but I think we are a little selfish to our loved ones with that attitude. Our loved ones probably are not worried about how "fat" we look or the bad expression on our face; they just ... Sat, 5 Jul 2014 08:54:23 EST New car! Here is a picture of me with my new 2014 Chevy Cruze! I've had it only a couple of days but so far, I like it!
Fri, 16 May 2014 10:11:45 EST Venting today about Taxes I really want to let go of this and I'm through complaining to the professional who prepared them. He wins and I score zero because I mailed the rest of the money he says I owe today. I just got the bill yesterday and when I questioned it, he got nasty and said "Pay up by the end of the week or I will turn you into collections."

I don't want to dwell on it and remain angry so hopefully this will be my last rant on the topic!

I had some unusual circumstances with my taxe... Tue, 13 May 2014 11:14:13 EST Tried Almond Milk today I have been curious about this for awhile but I suppose what held me back is the fact I grew up on a dairy farm and all my brothers are still involved in Dairy one way or the other. I don't like feeling I don't support the dairy industry. But the truth is I don't put milk on my cereal and I don't eat butter. I do occasionally buy it for cooking and do use milk in cooking. I also eat lots of dairy products including cheese and yogurt, and will continue to do so.

So I'm not using les... Wed, 23 Apr 2014 18:52:56 EST Still don't feel like a runner... I've been going to my running club meetings and I have tried to increase my endurance a bit between meetings, but I am thinking I need to try harder. I do not find myself liking the running. I have increased my treadmill pace from 3.0 to 3.5 mph. I really don't minding doing the run/walk combo for the 5K run but I don't want to be last! (I know I won't be last but I suppose somebody has to be last though). Tue, 15 Apr 2014 17:58:53 EST Preparing for a 5 K run I am not a runner. I was not going to do this! But some friends joined a women's group for preparing for an upcoming 5 K run. They convinced me to join as well. Last night was my first night. Even though I walk or use my treadmill at a walking pace most every day, this was still exhausting. We went about 3/4 of a mile with alternating between 30 seconds of running, one minute of walking. It sure seemed like the times were reversed for the running and walking! I can feel this in my upper thigh... Fri, 28 Mar 2014 08:15:24 EST I returned from my cruise! We had a wonderful time on the Caribbean 7 Day cruise on the Holland America Ship, ms Eurodam.

I'm attaching a picture here but adding a link so that all my pictures can be viewed (no sign in or sign up should be necessary!)

sid=0Qas2LZwxYsWJc&emid=shareprintview
er&linkid=link5&cid=EM_sharview

Thu, 13 Mar 2014 11:52:16 EST Cruising in March Going on a Caribbean Cruise in a few days!
I need to get as much work done as possible before leaving. Pictures and details to follow...

Tue, 25 Feb 2014 08:13:41 EST My Christmas Present My husband spends too much on me for Christmas and it gets worse every year. This year, in addition to several new Harley Davidson shirts and a pair of HD jeans, he got me a Microsoft Surface Pro 2.

I think of myself as tech savvy, but I am also quite frugal and have not always been the biggest fan of Microsoft products. It is not likely I would have bought this on my own. I have an iPad 1 that he surprised me with 3 years ago. I like it but was considering getting a newer version... Mon, 30 Dec 2013 02:43:01 EST So proud of my daughter in law I posted this in the Cafe when the question was asked what was your proud moment...but I don't feel many people actually read all the thousands of posts in the cafe. Maybe somebody will read it here on my blog.

My daughter-in-law just informed me that she made the Dean's list. It was her first semester of college and she and my son have two children, ages 4 & 5. She is only 23. I could just sit down and bawl with pride over this, and in fact do have tears in my eyes as I write. Wh... Fri, 13 Dec 2013 08:12:01 EST Trip to Hawaii Have not added to my blog in awhile! I recently traveled to Hawaii with my oldest daughter. In this profile picture, the heavier "before" picture is me, taken in Hawaii 7 years ago. It ws nice to go there and not be heavy this time.

I would love to share all my pictures with you so rather than upload them, you can see them at this link, individually or as a slide show.

If you would like to see a 42 minute video of our trip, please send me a Sparkmail message and I'll sha... Thu, 15 Nov 2012 14:18:54 EST I need to scream and vent a little! My daughter got married this past summer. I believe I wrote a blog about how it ticked me off that I sent all those stamped addressed post cards to make it easy to RSVP, but got so few back. And then of those that I got back 20 said they were coming that did not come.

Well, among those that did not return the card was my niece who plans to get married herself in a few short weeks. (She also did not come to the wedding nor offer any reason why not, no card/gift, no acknowledgement ... Sat, 6 Oct 2012 06:42:22 EST I am definitely going to Hawaii! My daughter has booked our trip to Hawaii. In this profile picture you see me in my "before and after." The before picture was taken in Hawaii in 2005. It will be nice to go there again in 2012, at my idea weight. I am so excited! Mon, 1 Oct 2012 20:58:27 EST I can't sleep! So much on my mind, I guess. I may get to go to Hawaii in October/November with my oldest daughter! I am so excited that she asked if I wanted to accompany her (she has to go for her job, but I went to Los Vegas with her in 2009 and we had such a good time! I don't get to see my daughters much. This daughter lives in the Boston area, about a ten hour drive for me.

The other daughter who just got married lives in Seattle, but is currently in Japan and will be for several months. <BR... Tue, 25 Sep 2012 00:07:23 EST Another wedding picture I have tons of pictures from my daughter's wedding but I will share this one for now, me with my daughter.

Tue, 28 Aug 2012 13:50:53 EST Pet Peeve As mentioned before, my daughter got married July 28th in Seattle but we had a reception for her on August 12th, back home. All in all, everything turned out well. I did expect that a large number of people would not bother to RSVP even though they had a stamped post card to mail back, and all they had to do was check the yes or no box, and mention how many were coming (if yes).

There were over 20, though, that RSVP'd they were coming but did not show. We planned dinner (and paid f... Wed, 15 Aug 2012 15:20:31 EST My daughter got married. Here is a picture of her with my new son-in-law!
Tue, 14 Aug 2012 13:09:12 EST Montana We are having a great time in Montana with brother and sister in law!
Thu, 26 Jul 2012 09:10:09 EST I created a monster but it took 17 years I've been reporting sometimes on my husband's recent efforts to lose weight even though he is not a member on this site. He has lived with me for 17 years now and watched how I ate and knows how conscientious I am about maintaining my weight.

Yet through the years, he enjoyed eating what he wanted including too large portions and junk food. Because he was not hugely obese, I did not really bug him about it and just "loved him the way he was."

But then one day this spring... Sun, 15 Jul 2012 10:45:26 EST Vacation starts on Friday I was hoping to be a bit below my goal before we leave on vacation on Friday and I made that goal! 244

We are staying with my brother in law and is wife in Montana for almost a week, and she is notorious for being a good cook! (And I don't think that means she skimps on the rich and fatty ingredients...)

I know she knows "how I am" about my diet but I hope we can all compromise. I do not want to offend her by not eating what she cooks. I am hoping she will all... Sat, 14 Jul 2012 10:21:09 EST Annoying scales lack accuracy I am a Weight Watchers life member and though I have came to truly appreciate the value of Sparkpeople, I like going to a scale that I think will be accurate on a regular basis.

I am somewhat skeptical of my own bathroom scale, but generally I found it weighs me a few ounces higher than the Weight Watcher's scale, which is fine.

However, this morning I weighed on my own scale, very light clothing before eating or drinking, and weighed 118.2. I was unable to attend my reg... Fri, 29 Jun 2012 13:37:03 EST 17th Wedding anniversary Tomorrow is our 17th anniversary. My husband is treating me to a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater tonight. I'm looking forward to it very much.

It has been a mixed bag week but I'm quite happy with one thing in particular that happened. I love my job teaching online but I often feel like such a nobody. I do a good job but I am the type who likes an occasional pat on the head of you know what I mean.

At the same time, other parts of my life are also important so it might be ... Fri, 29 Jun 2012 06:59:38 EST Wedding Song list completed! My daughter is getting married in Seattle, but we are having a reception "back home" a couple of weeks after the actual wedding and I am doing much of the planning for this. I hired a somewhat amateur DJ and I'm a little nervous about that but also excited because he is allowing me to choose ALL the songs to be played! I have a list of 80. I think that will be plenty and it will be mostly songs that everybody there will like. Wed, 27 Jun 2012 10:18:44 EST My daughters and my sister I had a wonderful weekend with my daughters and my sister in Philadelphia. (I don't get to see my daughters very often because they live on both coasts of the country. I'm in the East, but still about 10 hours from the one on the East coast).

Here we are... from left to right...25 yr old DD, me, sister, 32 yr old DD

Wed, 20 Jun 2012 07:41:46 EST I'm at my goal I am officially at my goal weight, even though for the purpose of Spark, I have set it a couple of pounds below. I like being a little under rather than a little over (as I was until my weigh in on Saturday). I have lots of parties and celebrations coming up this summer and it is so much easier to go into these a bit under rather than a bit over.
Mon, 4 Jun 2012 07:39:22 EST Happy Memorial Day I don't have many "fat" pictures of myself because I did not like my picture taken then. But I found this one. I was 28 years old at the time. I am now 53. Mon, 28 May 2012 09:35:07 EST Feel like Suzie Homemaker today! I just patched two pairs of jeans that I really like instead of throwing them out! I vaccummed my living room.

I also made sugar free rice pudding and had some. was so good. My husband is now trying to lose weight and I am enjoying preparing healthier food for both of us!
Thu, 10 May 2012 09:47:20 EST
