SUSIESLIM62's SparkPeople Blog SUSIESLIM62's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Another NSV I'm on the last notch to tighten my belt! And my pants are still a little loose! 244 No matter what the scale says, I have to be losing something, right? 30 Sat, 2 Feb 2013 19:10:50 EST Down a pant size? Well , went to a local thrift store with a friend today. 346 and found a couple cute tops 30 and a Snoopy figurine 338 . I also found a pair of nice jeans-size 16 39 and I wear a size 18...or do I? I decided, "What the heck. Let's see if the new diet is working." so I tried them on. They fit!! they fit perfectly except being a tad long( but that is true of any pants since I'm short.) 104 I fully realize that there is a lack of conse... Wed, 16 Jan 2013 20:15:44 EST Success!! Well, Today was weigh in day. I was a little apprehensive about getting on the scale(even though my pants are a little loose)but as you can guess from the title, it went well. 224 I lost....6lbs!! Woot woot! 104 I know actually weigh 5 lbs less than when I got married almost 20 years ago! 345 My husband lost 12 lbs! He gets a little more exercise than I do. He is the Schwan's guy for our area and walks about 25 miles a week! 57 I plan to ramp u... Sun, 13 Jan 2013 18:05:14 EST An oops and a new start.
Well, this low-carb thing has been going pretty well. 30 Though I miss my Orville Redenbacher Smartpop(24 carbs) and last night I had a little oops. We can eat veggies all we want so I'm always looking for good ways to prepare them. I had some butter nut squash so I looked online for ways to prepare it and found a wonderful recipe with brown sugar 4 Big mistake as you may have guessed since brown sugar(alone!) has like 54 carbs 198 it was delicious, bu... Thu, 10 Jan 2013 14:21:18 EST Hubby's a SparkMember!! Well, my husband has joined sparkpeople! 224 His username is chubbytony1(isn't that cute!), but he doesn't really have time for a lot of bloging or posting or things like that. He mainly wants the tracking tools, recipes and nutrition and excercise tips. His company (Schwan's- a food company 246 )has signed up the employees for a radio station weight loss challenge.
We are starting a low a low carb diet today that we will try for 6 weeks. I really hope it can jum... Mon, 7 Jan 2013 13:51:03 EST Reflections, resolutions, and a new year Well, it is the first day of the new year and time to take stock of the past and plan for the future.
I have been on SparkPeople almost a year now ( in February).Though I haven't lost as much weight as I would like, I have made some healthy changes and some awesome friends which is worth a lot. I really appreciate the love and support of everyone and want you to know I support you too! 306
I'm resolved to do better myself in the coming year. 104 It doesn't ma... Tue, 1 Jan 2013 20:16:34 EST Happy New Year! Well. another year is coming to an end. A time to refect on the past and make resolutions for the future, and I will be doing that but right now I just want to share the picture below and wish everyone a very Happy New Year! 30 Mon, 31 Dec 2012 08:40:46 EST Winter Walk Well, I took some inspiration and encouragement from a fellow Sparker and went on a wintry walk today! 444 I bundled up like Nanook of the North( seriously, with long john's, long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, jeans, coat, hat, boots and gloves!) and took my dog, Shadow (a black lab mix) for a mile walk 311 It was cold, but the lightly falling snow was actually peaceful and we got a really nice surprise and reward. At one point we walked along a street that parallels the ... Wed, 26 Dec 2012 17:01:11 EST The Greatest Gift
The greatest gift
didn't come from a store.
It didn't come wrapped
in string or with ribbons
or bows.
No, the greatest gift
was born in a stable
so very long ago.
This year amid
the lights and glitter,
and the craziness
of the mall,
stop and consider
that baby boy.
He is the greatest gift of all.

Merry Christmas! Tue, 25 Dec 2012 21:30:47 EST Non scale victories and kindness! Well, my weekly weigh in was today and I haven't lost( or gained) a lb! 24 That really isn't a bad thing I guess. It is a lot better than gaining! 224
But the nice thing happened at church. I gave a dear older lady a hug and we exchanged greetings and then she says" How much weight Have you lost?" she said it in a way that sounded like she thought I'd lost quite a bit. I thanked her and told her that according to my scale I hadn't lost any. She insisted that I look... Sun, 23 Dec 2012 18:36:59 EST Gratitude I'm so thankful for all the support and encouragement I received in the responses I got to my blog,"confused and frustrated" 304 That's one thing I really love about this community, the love and support we give each other. I'm going to encourage one of my nieces to join. She has had medical issues and is overweight. She just had an appointment with a specialist who actually told her she is not trying hard enough (to lose weight) 28 in spite of the fact that she has ho... Sat, 8 Dec 2012 23:33:30 EST Confused and frustrated!
Ok folks, I'm a little confused and frustrated( hence the title of this blog. lol. at least I still have a sense of humor!) 334 Anyway, I weighed myself on my bathroom scale this morning and it said I've lost a few lbs since last Sunday 224 , But I just did a body test(weigh in) on my wiifit and it says I've gained 1.3 lbs since last Friday! 24 What the heck? One says I'm losing and the other says I'm gaining. I don't know which to believe(I know whi... Fri, 7 Dec 2012 20:16:19 EST Tracking True confession time, I sometimes (not very often) skip a day of tracking my food. 40 Shocking I know. I still watch what I eat, it's just that sometimes I don't feel like taking the time to get on SparkPeople and enter everything on the tracker. And there are days when I wonder about the tracker itself. Like the other day I had 1/2 a turkey sandwich(turkey, lettuce, onions, mayo on wheat bread) at a local coffee shop. I later entered it into my nutrition tracker and it said it was... Wed, 28 Nov 2012 12:30:45 EST Healthy choices Well, it really is possible to make healthy choices at fast food places. I knew that, but I admit I haven't done it much( ok fairly rarely). I go out with a group of friends after church every week and due to time and cost considerations we usually end up at a fast food place. I really have the best of intentions going in( and it helps that they are all offering more healthy alternatives) but I usually end up giving in to the fatter, greasier alternatives(what can I say I love McDonald's fren... Sun, 18 Nov 2012 16:02:59 EST Success!
244 I made my goal! 2lbs down. 224 It really is nice to meet a goal even if it is fairly small. It gives your confidence a nice boost so you can set a new goal. It also makes the hard work worth it.Thanks for the support and encouragement. 334 381 Fri, 16 Nov 2012 20:49:29 EST Weigh in 40 I'm a little nervous because today is weigh in time on my wii fit and not only that it is the deadline to see if I've meet my current goal(2lbs.) I've been woking hard tracking my food and excercise, but I may still not make it, I know, I know, think positive! 30 I also won't get a lot of excercise today(see status update) so we'll see.
Whether I do or don't I have to remember I can set a new goal and tomorrow is another day! 211 Fri, 16 Nov 2012 10:46:46 EST Discouragement, frustration, and pushing through Well, today started on a discouraging note. 24 I decided to weigh myself because I have been doing really good on tracking my food and exercise. The scale hadn't budged! 40 I am grateful that I didn't gain( that would have probably sent me over the edge. lol ), but a little result to show for my efforts would have been nice. I've only lost 5 lbs since last February. I realize that is better than gaining , but it is just frustrating tracking every thing you put in your ... Thu, 8 Nov 2012 10:16:36 EST Back on track two! Well, went out of town for the weekend ate too much! 2 4 and didn't get any set exercise. I had a great visit with family and friends, but was dreading the scale this morning. 40 I actually lost a lb! 104 . How does that work? I'm even below the barrier weight that I've been fighting for so long. I have been losing and gaining the same weight for what seems forever! I vacillate between 160 and 165 and it has been very frustrating! This morning I ... Mon, 29 Oct 2012 18:16:23 EST Back on track! Went on a fantastic vacation Oct. 3-8 to WI to see my brother's kids and to meet my 2 yr old great niece then down to Albuquerque,NM to meet up with my brother and his fiancé to go to the hot air balloon festival an awesome time! Sadly though, we didn't eat as healthy as we should, we ate mostly festival food; brats, corn dogs and the like. 39 ,but since I've been home I've gotten back on track with Slim Fast, fruits and veggies, and of course exercise. I weighed this morning and I... Mon, 15 Oct 2012 10:48:55 EST Sticking to the plan!

Well,I've started a Slim Fast plan because I wanted to kick start some weight loss. I have been on this plateau so long I could sream so I figured I'd jump off! lol. Anyway,Yesterday my husband had a Schwan's bbq pork sandwich,( He's the Schwan's man for our area but that is another blog) and it smelled so good! I took a tiny(really!) bite and it WAS good, but I knew I had to stick to my plan because I need to fit in a dress for an Eastern Star convention next week just a litt... Sun, 12 Aug 2012 17:26:35 EST Figuring things out
Well, I'm slowly(oh, so slowly) learning how this all works. I now have a Sparks page, Yay! Soon I will figure out how to track my fitness and my nutrition. I really need to get serious about this. I need to keep reading other's blogs because they are so inspiring! I see what I need to do I just need to kick my self in the butt and do it! I will, because I see how much others are going through and if they can do it, so can I. I really have no excuse not to. Ok, so I have a few excuses,... Tue, 7 Aug 2012 13:59:59 EST
