Sun, 21 Jul 2013 21:48:36 EST Drink Your Water Every Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5427400 I was never a water drinker, but now I drink 4 20 oz. bottles of water every day. I still am able to enjoy decaf unsweetened coffee and green tea, v8 juice and milk as well.

Drinking water not only does all that the coaches tell us it does, it also helps me to flush the excess fluids out of my system that cause me to swell up even though my Dr. has me on fluid pills.

Come on and join me. If I can do it so can all of you!
Sat, 20 Jul 2013 13:40:50 EST Stop the Excuses Not to Exercise http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5416852 I believe that I am probably the professional excuse maker to get out of exercise that I have ever met. But I want to tell you that has not held me back!

I am 69 years old and I am proud to say that I exercise 6 days a week. I take Sunday off, but I still manage to get in 20 min. of walking that day.

I try to switch up my routine to keep it interesting. Most days I use Leslie Sansone walking videos/dvds for my main option along with my Spark People dvds. I just star... It is indeed my rest day from exercises. This challenge has been so good! If you haven't tried it you must get the book and get started!

I try to use condiments with the least calories if any. I love Mrs. Dash Marianades, Mustard, garlic, fresh spices, Splenda, light dressings, etc.

Any time that I see sugar as an ingredient, I try to use either Splenda, or Brown Sugar with Splenda. If it calls for honey,... Sun, 30 Jun 2013 15:57:45 EST My Acheivements http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5399252 1. They were delicious!!! I am loving trying the new recipes on SP.

3. I am so glad that I got the free three months of Spa... Sun, 23 Jun 2013 15:28:57 EST Planning Ahead! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5385891 I make it a habit to plan my meals the night before every day. I find that it really helps to keep me focused the next day. If I eat something not planned or decide not to eat something I can make adjustments in my planned menu so that I do not go over my allowed calories or nutrition.

I have been following the Spark Solution menus lately. However, I usually use the daily menus on the website and then adjust them to reflect the meals that I plan to eat the next day.

I... Tue, 28 May 2013 13:54:33 EST The First Day of the Rest of My Life http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5360102 Today I read a blog that really encouraged me about thinking about the future me and how I will feel when my goals are reached. It will definitely be worth all of the work that I have to put into it.

The future me looked back and saw how I was miserable and in a lot of pain due to my weight that I did not need to be in.

I am rejoicing in the fact that I can do this, with the help of the Lord and Spark People and all of my friends and family's help. We can do this! Sat, 18 May 2013 10:29:45 EST Learning to Stay Positive! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5350842 I have been working on keeping a positive attitude regarding my weight loss and exercise program. I am an extremely slow loser and so it would be very easy to become discouraged and down about it. I have decided to work on loving myself as I am and holding my head up high for what I have accomplished so far. I may take the rest of my life to get there, but with the Lord's help I will make it! Thu, 9 May 2013 10:26:56 EST Let's Move! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5348841 I have been doing pretty much the same exercises since getting back on my program and so far this has worked. I do plan, however to start switching my exercises around and add some new ones for variety.

Right now I mostly use Leslie Sansone's 2 mile walks (I have about 39 of her VHS and DVD's of different distances. Tue, 7 May 2013 16:10:04 EST Moderation, Moderation, Moderation! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5336445 I am what many people call a perfectionist. I used to think that meant that I did everything perfectly, but thanks to a kind professor in Bible College, I learned different. It means that I strive for perfection and when I don't achieve it I become stressed out and upset with myself. Over the years I have learned to handle this situation and the answer is always MODERATION!

In the eating realm, I have found that if I make my menu the night before of what I want to eat the next d... Fri, 26 Apr 2013 13:53:52 EST How I Handle Food Pushers http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5320620 I am one of the blessed ones that has no one trying to sabatauge my diet. On the rare occasion that I do I just tell them no thank you I do not care for any.

If anyone should push me I tell them that due to a mild stroke that I had 5 years ago I do not eat that kind of food anymore, but I am sure that it is wonderful and it really does look good. Then I try to divert the conversation to a better discussion. Fri, 12 Apr 2013 10:04:33 EST Excuses, Excuses http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5307555 I think that I have used every excuse in the book for why I cannot exercise. Probably the one that I use the most is I don't have time! Well, I have found that with the 2 new cd's I got from Spark People that I can make time any day as it only takes 10 minutes. I also use Leslie Sansone's 1 mile workout when I don't have time. They only take 20 minutes. I found them in the back of my closet and so I tried them on, and what do you think? I was able to pull them up without a struggle! I was so excited that I ran out and told my husband. He was excited too.

I hav...
