When I am under stress I have no energy, all I want to do is sleep. Then when I am not sleeping all I want to do is eat carbs! So of course with the lack of exercise and "carb loading" on top of it all, I have put on 7lbs 39 ! And I Can Tell!
When I am stressed I have a very dim outlook on life, so of course the 7lbs might as well be 100lbs. I don't have the umph to get them off.
In the glimmer of hope tha... Sat, 23 Apr 2011 20:31:13 EST Where have I been? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3844125 I certainly haven't been dedicating myself to my weight loss journey! I don't have any good reasons for this, my reasons would all be excuses. The only legitimate explanation is I have been very lazy when it comes to taking myself seriously. Serious as in getting healthy, living healthy and staying healthy. I know it is about ME if I really do want a healthy lifestyle. I am the one who needs to put exercise, and diet on top of the todo list.
It shouldn't be that hard.
Somehow I... Tue, 14 Dec 2010 18:34:05 EST Just like to look ;) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3705913 I know I haven't lost a lot of weight since being on SP. But, I love just looking at my little weight tracker. It says I have lost 11 lbs. In actuality I have lost 14lbs. I joined SP back in May, but didn't really get active until Aug. Between the time I joined and Aug I gained 3 lbs.
To some 14lbs. isn't much, but for me, I haven't lost that much weight in at least 2 or more years.
I take my measurement tomorrow, I am so excited I can hardly wait! I actually have struggled ... Sun, 10 Oct 2010 17:54:29 EST 45 Minutes on the treadmill http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3675716 Finally got up to 45 minutes at 3mph on the treadmill! I felt great the whole time. 3mph for most people doesn't sound like alot, but for these short 23 inch legs it is like a jog. I NEVER thought I would even consider jogging! Now, that I can endure 45 minutes, I am increasing my speed. So maybe there is a jogger in me? 312 Tue, 28 Sep 2010 00:21:06 EST A WOO HOO Moment http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3672754 Finally I have had a woo hoo moment. I went shopping with my daughter yesterday, we had some really awesome coupons for Kohls, and they always have super clearance sales! So off I went with my most favorite person to shop with my daughter. We had a great lunch, (indulged a little) and then hit the mall. Like I said Kohls has the best clearance sales. So, armed with my $15.00 worth of coupons I decided I needed some workout pants and maybe I could find a cute top. My daughter hands me th... Sun, 26 Sep 2010 23:04:53 EST Took the day off http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3653586 My daughter called today and we decided to spend the day together. I love spending time with my daughter. One of my most favorite things to do. We usually shop and just hang out and get silly. Today we shopped, hung out and got silly. We also both had cravings for Mexican food. I think mine came from the party down the street that was so loud I thought we had a Mexican restaurant move in on our street. Complete with Mariachi music! Anyway we had mexican for dinner. It was yummy. I tr... Sun, 19 Sep 2010 23:40:00 EST Success http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3650536 I got back on that horse that threw me! Don't let it be said that I let any treadmill get me down.
I managed 35 minutes at a slower pace on the treadmill today. Some pain but I am not going to push it. I also did some strength training. Not at full tilt yet, but I am not giving in or giving up. No little fall is going to stop this ole girl. As they say dynamite 283 comes in small packages and this time that would be me. I am so determined to not let this get me down, I jo... Sat, 18 Sep 2010 21:14:03 EST Now I know! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3647758 So, this past Wednesday I went to the Y to do my usual workout. The treadmill for 45 minutes then hit the weight machines. Well...... didn't quite make the weight machines, I sort of crashed on the treadmill! 46 I am ok, hurt my hip a little so I need to take a couple of days off and skinned my knee. Boy how to ruin a good workout! I was more upset I didn't get my 45 minutes in and came short on calories burned. But I learned some good lessons.
334

1... Fri, 17 Sep 2010 17:23:16 EST Kitsap Ladies Spark Rally, where was everyone??????? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3629110 I went to the Waterfront Park in Silverdale today for a Spark rally, and I guess it was a rally of one. So where was everyone. If you were there then we should have had signs or something to let other team members know. Anyway, I enjoyed the park, the weather was beautiful and I got in some cardio.
I am hoping the Kitsap Ladies Spark team has another rally. But, next time how about a planned meeting place or sign or something???? 334 Sat, 11 Sep 2010 22:10:22 EST Yes!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3628158 I have been waiting for this day for a month now. Measurement day. So far I have lost 5 lbs. Which is great, but.... it just seems I have been working a lot harder than just 5 lbs. So measuring was that more important to me. The proof I need. Drum roll please.... I have lost as much as 1.5 inches in some areas, and at least .5 inches in other areas. I am so pleased with those results. Now I know that all that hard work is paying off. Apparently it is true what they say about building musc... Sat, 11 Sep 2010 14:47:13 EST So how am I doing????? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3615043 I had a great week last week. Most days I kept within my calorie range and the day I didn't I didn't go to pieces and declare myself a total failure, so let's bing! I actually enjoyed my splurge. Boy was it a splurge. But, got up the next day and got back on track. I got my 3 days a week in at the Y. I feel really good about that. I think I am finally feeling the effects of the workouts, not only physically, but mentally. I have been in a great mood. I have been sleeping really well. Th... Tue, 7 Sep 2010 12:55:59 EST I'm Still Here http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3613531 I haven't blogged much lately. I have been so busy setting and achieving goals, I haven't been able to get on here until evenings. By then I am so pooped from all my accomplishments I put in the basics and hit the hay. I guess we can say joining the Sleep Team has really helped with my insomnia! Getting some good zzzzzzzz's. Hopefully I will get on here earlier tomorrow and fill everyone in on what I have been up to. Wed, 1 Sep 2010 20:27:32 EST Half way to my mini goal! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3582010 whoohoo! I went to the Y today and that makes 3 days this week, halfway to my mini goal of 3 days for 2 weeks working out. And to think I wasn't going to go today. I figured after spending half of the day running around with my daughter and 2 year old grandson I would be to tired. Well, I got home, talked to my sister for a few minutes and then sat there, all by my lonesome and really not much to do around the house (I can clean later 334 . I thought well this is silly. I'm not... Sat, 28 Aug 2010 00:29:40 EST Yes I went to the Y today. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3575316 Today has been a great day. I made it to the Y for the second time this week. (My mini goal is to go to the Y 3 days a week for 2 weeks.) A third of the way to my goal. I weighed in today and have lost 2 lbs! Finally some progress. Two pounds isn't much, but the way things have been going for me it's like loosing 50lbs! So, very encouraging and a reason to continue on my trek to a healthy lifestyle. The best part of the day was probably spending it with my husband. That always makes for... Wed, 25 Aug 2010 23:47:52 EST Today I feel accomplished http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3567750 Yay day 12 of logging into SP, my longest streak yet! My goal for this week and next is go to the Y 3 days a week. Or at least work out 3 days a week. I am starting off right I went to the Y and it felt great. I went full of energy and finished full of energy. It is amazing what 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep can do for you. I have been staying on track with my food, and entering everything I eat into SP, even if it isn't exactly healthy.
Here's to a good start to the week 250<... Mon, 23 Aug 2010 22:02:10 EST Pat on the back, kick in the pants. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3561411 Yahoo today is the 10th day in a row that I have logged into SP! A real Spark streak for me :) Almost a habit. All in all things have been going pretty well, but I can do better. Food wise I have most days stayed on track. Not today though! I needed pizza so I had the pizza then I had the Ice cream, then I had the fish crackers on top of the normal healthy stuff I had planned for the day :( Kind of got off track and binged. I feel like I have a big lump of yuck in my stomach! And what ... Sun, 22 Aug 2010 00:35:15 EST A better day and what day 5 of Signing into SP! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3544639 Today was a better day for keeping on track with the food. Yay! Not so great for exercise, although I did do a lot of walking (in the heat!) No time to go workout and it was sooooo hot! We Washingtonians are such weather wimps! I'm not really complaining about the weather just not use to it. Today I am really exhausted after so much running around yesterday and today. But, my husband only has today off and there is still lots to do to get the business up and running. I hope I will get... Mon, 16 Aug 2010 22:42:08 EST Went overboard http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3540709 So, today the eating didn't go so well :( I took my daughter out for her birthday and kind of went overboard. But, I started the day knowing this would probably happen, so I am not going to beat myself up over it.
The most important thing is my daughter had a good time and was happy. So was I. And I will get back on track tomorrow.
At least we walked enough today to help out some. My feet are killing me.
All in all it was a good day. It always is when I get to spend time w... Sun, 15 Aug 2010 22:51:11 EST I might be starting a Spark streak! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3537917 Day 3 of logging in! So far my longest streak. One day at a time. Today was a good day, although I am exhausted! Still need to get the sleep thing under control. I did make it to the Y today. Not only did I do 40 minutes of cardio, I also did some strength training. I hope I feel it tomorrow, seems like I never do after I work out, so I'm not sure it is doing any good. I stayed on track with my food journaling. Kept within my daily calories and other areas. Got some things done aroun... Sat, 14 Aug 2010 23:27:41 EST Maybe I can do this? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3534594 I feel accomplished today. Two days in a row and I have logged into SP. Actually have logged in 4 times this week. Has got to be a record for me. Really am trying out the consistency thing.
I decided I needed to put my FarmVille farmer on a vacation, I just have so much to do that doesn't include sitting on my hinny farming.
1. I need to work on my SP CONSTANTLY to be successful.
2. I need to go to the Y at least 3 days a week.
3. My husband and I are starting a business... Fri, 13 Aug 2010 18:41:13 EST Consistency http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3530949 I visited another Spark Members page and was totally inspired by her success. But what really stuck in my mind was she said for any program to work you have to be CONSISTENT. How true is that! I'm not claiming to know it all, but I know how to eat to loose, how to exercise to loose, what frame of mind I need to loose. But, even armed with that knowledge I haven't lost. And the big bonk on the head is CONSISTENCY. I can't e... Thu, 12 Aug 2010 18:26:44 EST When will I get it together???? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3503325 So here I go again. I get started really well then..... I know we all have busy lives, but I also know I need to make time for me to get healthy and in shape. I get side tracked so easily. And admittedly I can also be very lazy and a procrastinator! I wonder where my son gets that?
I just need to get off of my lazy behind and get busy. I went to the Y today after about 3 weeks, it felt great! I always feel great after I workout, it's just a matter of getting motivated. I thank my ... Wed, 4 Aug 2010 16:07:52 EST Well that's not good http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3417340 A few months ago I got a Wii for my birthday and Wii fit plus. Exactly what I wanted (really). I haven't been real consistent in using it. Like not used it in 2 months. But, I do use it as my scale. So, today I weighed myself after 2 weeks. I am UP 2.6 lbs!!!!!!!!!! Not the direction I was looking for. Yes I know muscle weighs more than fat and I have been working out. But, I tried on some summer cloths I haven't had a chance to wear this summer. I live in Washington and this is the f... Sat, 10 Jul 2010 11:38:30 EST The beginning http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3415670 I have never blogged in my life. I have kept many journals but those are private for me. I guess blogging is the same thing as journaling except other people get to see what I am thinking, and feeling.
So, here I go...
Right now the biggest thing on my mind is ME! And I have gotten big. Way to big. I am in my early 50's, 4'6" tall and weigh 185lbs. I measured my hips the other day. They are 50". So when I say I am about as wide as I am tall I'm not kidding. My height in inch... Fri, 9 Jul 2010 19:20:52 EST
