I felt like a chicken running around with my head cut off. We spent the day getting prepared for our upcoming cruise.

First things first, a trip to Wal-Mart! We stocked up on toiletries and then I had to go find panty hose. While I was off trying to decide Alan had gone to the other end of the store and got a garment bag for our formal wear. We also picked up a few t-shirts for him (gotta love the clearance rack) and socks.

We got home and I realized "Crud! I forgot s... Thu, 2 Oct 2014 16:40:18 EST Weight Loss from October 2011 - Last Week (9/24/14) I have a rough idea that sometime this summer my weight starting going up. Although I couldn't pinpoint exactly when it was. Then I read one of the popular blogs here on Spark and the poster talked about looking at her weight loss charts over the course of a time frame. So I decided to do the same thing. Wow! talk about eye opening!

That graph starts on October 23, 2011 and goes through my last weigh in... Sun, 28 Sep 2014 23:22:39 EST New Dress in an ASTOUNDING size! Alan and I had talked for the last few weeks about taking a trip sometime in October. We don't live far from the cruise terminal here in FL. Its been 4 years since we've been on one and we thoroughly enjoy them. We're big kids at heart and LOVE the Disney cruise line even though we don't have children. We've cruised years ago with a different company and hated the experience. Then we went on a Disney cruise and now that's the only one we'll go on!

So all of this talk got me to some... Mon, 22 Sep 2014 22:19:46 EST BLC 26 Expectations I'm not one to make expectations during BLC. Some rounds I do really well, while others I fail miserably at. This summer proved to be rough emotionally & mentally. I'm taking this round slow and whatever victories I have I will celebrate. I feel like I'm back at the starting gate and still trying to get my footing so I can successfully get out of the gate. Right now my main focus is to get thru this round of BLC. Honestly, the only time he's ever on a leash is if he's going from the car into the vet's office and vice versa. We live on over a third of an acre fenced in so he has plenty of room to run. He loves to chase squirrels along the fence line. Alan and I both get a free comedy show every time he goes after one. Luckily, he's never caught one & quiet honestly he'd probably have n... Tue, 16 Sep 2014 21:09:41 EST A DIFFERENT APPROACH -- 1st Two Weeks of September Results For those of you who don't regularly follow my blog a short backstory:

*** I started my weight loss journey in October of 2011 at 224. At my heaviest I was 233 pounds. For only being 4'11 that is a lot of weight on a very short frame. From October of 2011 - October of 2012 I lost well over 20 pounds. In the summer of 2012 I finally got a diagnosis I had struggled for years to get while still living in TX. I was diagnosed with PCOS and put on Glumetza. Even with the not so fun side ... Tue, 16 Sep 2014 01:12:44 EST 7 DAYS BEFORE BLC 26 STARTS & MY PROGRESS BLC 26 officially kicks off September 17

I became part of the "pre BLC" team and was getting to know some of the members. Part of joining this team is to get yourself familiar with members and learn basics such as tracking your weight, completing small challenges, etc. This gives you a rough idea of what you have to look forward to during the actual round.

I spent these last few weeks talking with people, tracking my weight, and trying to get back on track.

I... Wed, 10 Sep 2014 16:45:01 EST Emotional Last Few Days Around Labor Day I start to feel really down. I honestly thought I was going to be okay this year. Well, I started seeing all the posts from friends on Facebook about their kids going back to school. It sent me into a really bad talespin. I was angry, depressed, sad, etc. I was up until 5am Wednesday morning after having gotten up around 10am Tuesday morning. So you do the math, I was up almost 24 hours.

My daughter would have been in 3rd grade this year. I'm angry. Why am I angry... Thu, 4 Sep 2014 00:07:52 EST Things That Lead To My Summer Weight Gain, What I learned, & How To Get Back on Track Stress, inactivity, not following my routine, bad food choices, and WAY to much eating out were all contributing factors to my weight gain. In May I was 176ish pounds. As of Sept 1st I'm 186.8! Yeah, NO BUENO!

Another huge factor was I wasn't weighing myself once a week like I normally do. I was luckily if I remembered to weigh in bi weekly at some times.

Now, I realize everyone is different with their relationship with the scale. Some tuck it away and don't use it. Som... That would put me at 1... Wed, 27 Aug 2014 14:54:29 EST Making BLC 26 Work For Me -- Goals for BLC During my break from BLC over the summer I learned a few things about myself. I had started an exercise streak last August and up until May it was still going. However, it was during the last few weeks of that streak I started realizing something.

I was doing everything right. I was eating healthy, tracking, drinking water, exercising, etc. Yet, the scale wouldn't move. Its then I realized that I needed to stop the exercise streak. It wasn't helping me. So I continued all my other... Sun, 24 Aug 2014 14:15:51 EST A Few More Days in IL & Then Getting Busy My grandma and uncle Darian should be here soon. We'll spend the day together catching up & making memories. Then Sunday is our last full day in IL. We're heading out early Monday morning. I reserved our hotel in TN. Its only 16 hours from here to our house but I loved the hotel we stayed at. So we'll consider it a mini vacay within our vacay. We'll be home late Tuesday night. Typically I weigh in on Wednesday but I think I'm going to wait and put it off on Thursday.

Thursday I al... Sat, 23 Aug 2014 11:18:53 EST BLC 26 starts in September & I can't wait! This summer has been an emotional, mental, physical, and financial rollercoaster. Needless to say instead of losing weight, I gained considerably. I'm back in the 180s and am hoping to be back in the 170s by the start of BLC.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't bummed about how this summer went. I had high hopes to be in the 160s by start of this coming round. Well, life got crazy chaotic and I'm not ashamed to admit my weight loss and healthy habits got put on the back burner. I'm a ... Wed, 20 Aug 2014 20:36:04 EST Enjoying Time With My Uncle My uncle lives in a very small town in IL, roughly an hour from Chicago. According to the last population census report there aren't even 1,000 people in this small town. He's lived in the same house since before I was born. He moved into it right after it was built in 1977.

My uncle lives half a mile from "Main Street" where the post office is. Growing up "Main Street" had a bank, the post office, a grocery store, and a bar. Well over the last 5 or so years the store is gone, the... Tue, 19 Aug 2014 18:55:13 EST NSV: Furthest Biked Distance to Date! (8/15/14) Tonight I biked 16 miles in 80 minutes & burned over 400 calories on my recumbent bike! Needless to say the shower afterwards felt awesome! We're leaving at 3am to head out of town. I'm going to swim some laps while I'm at the hotel tomorrow afternoon. Sunday will be a much needed rest day. We should be to my uncle's early afternoon that day. Monday, I'm going to walk a mile around his neighborhood & revisit places from my childhood.

Edited to add: August 8 - 14th I biked a total o... Fri, 15 Aug 2014 23:19:54 EST I'm Proud of my Baby Steps I know the last several blogs in this week have sounded repetitive in nature but I can't help but be proud of the small steps I'm taking. This week I didn't focus so much on what I was eating but that I was drinking water & getting back into exercising. I've drank 64 oz of water the last 3 days in a row. WOOHOO for a water streak! Including tonight's mileage, since the 8th, I've biked 59 miles. We ate tacos tonight that I made. Tomorrow night I'm making beef & broccoli.

I've come ... Thu, 14 Aug 2014 23:58:04 EST ROAD TRIP! We're leaving bright & early Saturday morning for IL. We'll stop for the night in TN. Then continue onto my uncle's house Sunday. If weather stays nice & we don't have traffic issues we should be there early afternoon.

I've sat here the last few hours trying to come up with a plan as far as food & exercise are concerned. When I was at the store earlier I bought two 4 packs of my favorite muffins & some granola bars. I'll eat 3 of the 8 muffins before we leave town. I'm going to br... Thu, 14 Aug 2014 00:13:28 EST SLOW & STEADY WINS THE RACE I can actually say I'm proud of what I accomplished today.

We went to lunch before heading to Wal-Mart. I had a club sandwich & side salad with a sweet tea. My go to healthy meal at our favorite restaurant. It may not seem healthy but considering all of the other things on the menu (wings, burgers, quesdillas, etc) its pretty good.

Then we went to Wal-Mart and got a few groceries for the next week before we leave for IL.

I've got bagels & eggs for breakfast. I... Mon, 11 Aug 2014 21:07:16 EST Frustrated & Ready For Stress to Go Away I'm tired of bending over backwards to help adult children, especially when they aren't even mine. That's what I get for thinking that "Oh well his son will act differently from his daughter. They do have two seperate mothers." HA! His son is nothing but lazy and wants everything handed to him. I'll be glad come the middle of the week when the kid is gone.

It just goes to show how some people just aren't raised with an ounce of responsibility or respect for others. Heck, at the ag... Mon, 11 Aug 2014 16:53:03 EST DOWN DAY Today was a painful day between lower back pain & Mother Nature giving me issues. I have a fairly high tolerance for pain but when laying in my recliner almost brings me to tears, its time to take some action. Alan went to Walgreens (after we ate some lunch) and got me a heating pad. Heating pad + comfy bed + pain meds = glorious 4 hour nap.

Needless to say day 2 of Mother Nature is always bad. On top of back pain I just felt run down, tired, and overall just blah. Although I know... Sat, 9 Aug 2014 22:12:27 EST RESTARTING WITH BABY STEPS Life isn't perfect. We always try to make plans with the best intentions. "This month I'm going to eat healthier, exercise more, drink water, etc". We mean well and most of the time start out with a BANG but then BAM life happens. Before we know it days, weeks, months, or even years have gone by before we realize "Crud! What have I done?"

Well, that's how I've felt the last few months. Finally after getting internet back up and running here at home I've been able to get some of my ... Fri, 8 Aug 2014 23:29:25 EST I NEED TO MAKE A PLAN The last several months have been crazy. I'm up over 10 pounds that I know of, but am not even really sure exactly how bad the damage is. I know I could simply figure it out by going and looking at my previous weigh ins from months back. Although, I don't think I REALLY want to know just exactly how bad it is.

I'm not in denial about it. I know what caused it. The main 2 culprits: Eating Out & No Exercise = SCALE GOING UP & UP!

The house is still in disarray from every... Fri, 8 Aug 2014 14:48:02 EST To Join BLC 26 or not, that is the question I know my fellow Geckos wanna see me back after taking BLC 25 off. Right now I don't know if it'll be doable. After getting bad attitude from a former team leader I have a really bad taste in mouth about joining another organized team that has objectives to it. I have way to much on my plate right now with trying to get my house in order, traveling to IL next week for a few weeks to help a family member, etc. I'd love to join but I honestly don't think its a good idea right now.

O... Thu, 7 Aug 2014 17:37:57 EST TOOK A SPARK BREAK & LEFT A TOXIC TEAM Its been rough this summer

June 1st my great grandma passed away. Rough Week On Saturday afternoon I got a text from my grandma (dad's mom) that my great grandma was not doing well. My great grandma has been in hospice for the last year. When I went to see her last June she didn't recognize me. I walked out of the nursing home in tears. I knew that day that that would be the last time I'd ever see her alive.

My dad had sent me a message on Facebook around 530pm on Sunday afternoon saying that things weren't looking good and she was in her final stages of li... Sat, 7 Jun 2014 01:50:34 EST I'm Still Here I'm still here. I haven't wrote a blog since Sunday afternoon. Well for good reason, I've not been feeling all that great.

Sunday night I went to bed and tossed & turned. Then I abruptly woke up at 4am and got sick. I had taken my Glumetza around 10pm but forgot to have some toast beforehand. I'm thinking that's what caused the stomach issue. When I finally woke up Monday morning (TMI) Mother Nature decided to pay me a visit. So needless to say I was completely wiped out all day Mo... Wed, 28 May 2014 23:16:18 EST Rainy & Tired I'm so tired today. I had another restless night where I think it was close to sunrise before I fell asleep. Then it start storming around 3pm this afternoon. Looks like we have rain in the forecast all week this week. Alan just came home from picking up a few things at the store. We're going to do a simple dinner of just hot dogs. I think I'll head to bed early tonight and hopes that I'll get some sleep.

I know what's causing these sleepless nights. Fri, 16 May 2014 22:59:57 EST May 15 Sorry I didn't get a blog in yesterday. Nothing much to report other then it was really raining and I did some basic ST. I had an awesome breakfast of eggs over easy, toast, and bacon. It filled me up pretty well to the point I wasn't hungry for lunch. Dinner we had tacos with a homemade seasoning I made, refried beans, and spanish rice.
