My son is in the junior archery league at C&B Archery (and he's doing very well!!). His league meets every Saturday morning and then he and I go for practice on Sundays after church, Tuesday evenings and Thursday evenings. So....going that often, we are pretty well known there.

The owner, Ralph, is a great guy. He is into many things and is always successful in what he ventures into. After many years of training and certifications, he has started a hypnotism seminar series and ... Mon, 6 Feb 2012 11:26:14 EST No, No, No! Today was my "NO" day!!! And that's a GOOD thing!!!

We had a birthday breakfast for one of my coworkers and this means:

Scrambled Eggs
Bacon
Turkey Sausage
Bagels
Donuts
Fruit
Sauteed Mushrooms and Onions

Hmmm, let's see now .... did I leave anything out??

Well, I forgot about the breakfast feast and brought in my own breakfast of 2 egg whites.

I went over to the feast, sang Happy Birthday, and took 2 turke... Tue, 22 Nov 2011 12:54:33 EST I simply cannot believe this good fortune!! My husband, son and I were visiting my aunt's house on Saturday for a family get together and my cousin (her son) was there. He lives directly across the street from her. We hung out together for hours and my son stayed in her built in pool literally for 4 hours. When my cousin was getting ready to go home, someone asked him if he got his "tin" car into the garage without denting it.

My cousin collects antique and unique collectible cars. I asked him what the "tin" car was an... Mon, 23 Aug 2010 16:01:08 EST Hey!!! I went shopping.....for CLOTHES!!!!!! Me!!! Yey!!! I had the most delicious experience on Friday night. One that I haven't had in 5+ years!!!

I haven't bought clothes for myself in 2 years. Before that, it had been 3 years. I only went 2 years ago because the clothes I had been wearing had become too tight. It was the usual terrible experience where I felt I was "in between sizes". And that's because nothing fit right. If the pants fit, the waist band was too large, if the waist fit, the hips didn't, if the whole thing fit ... Sun, 1 Aug 2010 16:51:22 EST The Tee Shirt.....Wow!!! What a surprise! This Sunday is our annual Walk for the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer. The company I work for started the Foundation in honor of our Vice Chairman, Marc Lustgarten, who died from pancreatic cancer. I walk every year with Team Cablevision and raise money for the cure.

Every year we get a Team Cablevision tee shirt. Mine had always been an X-Large. Well, this year I got brave and asked for a Large. Then I asked for a Medium for my 12 year old son who has been doing... Wed, 21 Jul 2010 19:37:50 EST WHAT A CRAZY CRAZY MORNING I'VE HAD!!!! About 2:00 a.m. this morning, my son came in my room and woke me up saying he didn't want to go to camp today. Where that came from, I'll never know, but I told him he was going to camp in the morning and rolled over and somehow fell asleep again. At 5:00 a.m., I woke up to find that I had about an inch of my king size bed to sleep on and my son was fast asleep next to me hogging up the bed, kneeing me in his sleep, etc. I layed there staring at the ceiling not being able to get back to s... Wed, 14 Jul 2010 11:37:50 EST Labels - Beware of the Labels!!! I don't know about you, but I am getting sick and tired of the food industry trying to pull fast ones on us. I can remember when the term "Lite" came into being and was unregulated. It was being used for the most ridiculous of descriptions including an oil that was "Lite" in color! Nothing "Lite" about the calories in oil. Fat is fat, you can't get around that.

Anyhow, what got me thinking about that was that I went to the vending machine at work today and bought a small 2 ounc... Mon, 21 Jun 2010 14:43:11 EST I will NOT be discouraged...I chose to win! I got an email from Katmomma3 last night and it made me do some thinking. After doing some soul searching last night, I realized that no, I'm not lazy, I was just a bit blue due to some circumstances. I like to think positive and I also needed to be strong for my husband who is losing his father to cancer and for my son who will be losing his grandfather. At the same time, I was in the midst of cleaning out my mom's house (she passed away 8 years ago and I was finally able to sell her cond... Sun, 2 May 2010 12:18:21 EST My husband told me I look "Hot"! Wow. Last night I typed an email to my son's teacher and I called my husband in to read it to him before I sent it out. I read the whole thing to him and I asked him "Sound ok? Or do you have any input you'd like me to include?" and he said very matter-of-factly "Yeah, it sounds good. Send it. You look hot. You look like one of those movies where the girl turns to look at you, takes off her glasses, shakes out her hair and looks really hot." And then my son came barreling in the room, hoppe... Fri, 12 Mar 2010 12:51:19 EST It takes 6 weeks to break a habit. Since hurting my back in late December which left me pretty much useless in the exercise department all through January as well, I've been finding it hard to get back into the super exercise regimen that I had adhered to which was instrumental in my weight loss.

Sure, I'm still power walking, but I'm not doing the aerobics and strength training every night like I used ot. It's sporatic. Well, along with that, I've been eating wrong. Not binging, but not careful enough for the last... Wed, 10 Mar 2010 12:50:55 EST Feeling like a fat person in a thin body I have been afraid to go to the store and try on clothes in a new size. Since August, I have lost 35 pounds and haven't needed to buy new clothes because before I had started, I wore a size that I called "a tight 18". So with the first pounds coming off, the 18's started to fit comfortably. Then one day the 18's were so big that I looked atrocious in them. First leap of faith....I reached way to the back of my closet and tried on a former size I've kept, size 16. They fit and I was ecsta... Thu, 28 Jan 2010 09:31:44 EST StevieCat, Forever in my heart..... Just in case anyone is wondering, my name is not Stephanie. That's not what my SparkPeople moniker is short for. Stevie was my precious cat for 23 years. I had her for so long that when I first got her, Stevie Nicks was very popular (she still is, but you know what I mean) and I absolutely LOVED her. She was young and beautiful and so was my kitten, so I called her Stevie after Stevie Nicks.

Everyone thought "she" was a "he" because of the name Stevie. One day I was at the ... Fri, 15 Jan 2010 14:03:56 EST All's Well That Ends Well..... After being off to such a great start with a solid 4 1/2 months of success and feeling quite at ease with my diet, now with only 6 pounds to go, I find myself struggling, I mean reeeealy struggling to complete this journey in my life.

However, yesterday turned out to be good. I struggled all day long trying not to eat wrong and not to eat too much, and while it was "painful", I managed to do it. I plugged away at it and walked away from some food and also took a piece of a past... Tue, 12 Jan 2010 10:57:34 EST I had a VERY cool day yesterday!! (and I don't mean the weather!) Because it was so frigid here yesterday, I went deep into the coat closet and took out my LL Bean thinsulate full length coat. Hadn't worn it since last year and I was so pleased that I was able to zipper it up instead of just snapping the top 3 snaps and holding the rest together like I've had to do in the last several years!! When I got to work, I hung it up in the closet and as I did so, I noticed that the size tag inside the coat said Medium!!! Wow, I haven't been a medium in about ... Fri, 8 Jan 2010 13:56:17 EST Ok, so now I LOVE the Wii, but not for the reason you might think! My aunt gave my 11 year old son a Wii system for Christmas. In the initial set up, you get to design the characters to resemble you if you want. When he was setting up the my character, he chose auburn hair for me (I'm a redhead) and the eyes and the nose, mouth, etc.

Then he got to the page where you choose the body type and he chose a skinny one for me. I hugged him and said "Oh thank you honey! That was so sweet." and he said to me, "Why? That's what you look like, isn't ... Tue, 5 Jan 2010 15:47:43 EST Another Milestone :0) Guess what?? I got into a new size this morning.....a new ring size that is!!

About 18 years ago, my husband bought me a GORGEOUS gold ring with 3 dark marquee shaped rubies and 10 small diamonds. I LOVE THAT RING!!! and, unfortunately, I've been unable to wear it for the past 10 years because of my weight gain.

Well, this morning I got really brave and tried it on AND IT FITS....COMFORTABLY!!!! I'm so psyched!!!

9 239 241</em... Fri, 4 Dec 2009 13:34:28 EST OK, So I Just Plain Got Lucky I don't know what happened to me today. If it weren't for the name of our team, "JUST DO IT", I'd have been in big trouble diet wise. I started out in the wrong direction by lying to myself on Monday. And then I continued to lie to myself for the rest of the week:

This past Monday, we had a birthday breakfast for one of the secretaries. The cafeteria sent up a fruit platter, donuts and bagels, bacon, sausage, turkey sausage, scrambled eggs and scrambled egg whites. Whenever w... Thu, 5 Nov 2009 21:19:39 EST I BROKE THAT NUMBER!!! I DID IT!!!!! 244
After waiting several weeks for it, this morning I got on the scale and it tipped down 1/2 a pound to 169.5 !!!!! I did it, I broke into the 160's!!

THERE'S NO STOPPING ME NOW!! I can almost TASTE the 150's!

Without the encouragement of everyone here at SparkPeople, I don't think I would have had the resolve to keep it going. I've read so many blogs and either recognized myself in them or was reminded that what I was whining about was just that..... Wed, 28 Oct 2009 09:27:59 EST On my way to breaking a number & keeping it that way! I am just a 1/2 pound away from "breaking a number" on the scale & entering the 160's for the first time in years.

Friday night, my husband and I were volunteer chaperones at our son's middle school "REC night" (dance, game room, etc.) along with about 15 other parents. I was situated at the entrance at the table that registers the kids and takes their admission money and my husband was situated all the way down the hallway to make sure the kids don't wander out of the area towa... Mon, 26 Oct 2009 17:37:59 EST My weight loss FINALLY shows, but not how I thought it would! Ok, so initially with 40 pounds to lose, I figured it wouldn't show right away, probably after 10 or 15 pounds. And I was right. When I lost 15 pounds, it really didn't show much. Something "looked different" to others, but nobody was guessing that I lost weight. Then I hit the half way mark (I'm 1/2 pound shy of 20 pounds lost) and still nobody has said a thing.

I jokingly said to my husband "Wow, how bad is it when you lose 20 pounds and it still doesn't show?" I mean it did... Tue, 20 Oct 2009 13:40:45 EST I was able to button my coat today!! I know this sounds silly, but I am flying on a cloud today (and we have tons of rain clouds on Long Island today!) because I got real brave and took my new coat out of the closet and put it on. Holy Cow! The buttons closed!

Last year, I needed a new coat desperately. My sister and I went shopping together and nothing really looked good. The 18's fit but I looked very unattractive in them, they just made me look larger than I already was. The 16's looked better, but if I button... Fri, 16 Oct 2009 10:34:32 EST A half pound weight loss never looked so good!!!! This morning I weighed myself and saw I lost a 1/2 lb. Notice I did not say "ONLY" 1/2 a pound. I saw it go down a solid half pound and I was actually so happy! I worked hard this week, didn't go off my diet program and lost that 1/2 pound and was thrilled. This spoke mountains to me. It tells me that I've changed my entire outlook and therefore am establishing a new way of looking at my weight, at my diet and at my life. With this small event this morning, I know I've made a lifestyle change... Fri, 9 Oct 2009 06:43:37 EST IT FITS, IT FITS, IT FITS!!!!! I have a wedding to go to next month and I have been stressing out the last 2 weeks over having to buy an outfit to wear. It's silly, but I don't feel as awful as I look. LOL. I feel ok but when I happen to see myself in a mirror, I'm appalled at what I actually look like!! So I've been dreading having to face the reality of trying on clothes in the store or shopping at home just to see that I really look "dumpy". I've been starting to lose sleep over it because it's in the back of my min... Sun, 13 Sep 2009 12:51:06 EST
