STEFFYBABYSTAR's SparkPeople Blog STEFFYBABYSTAR's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Stretching never felt so good I will keep this short and sweet. I hope this can be encouraging to somebody else out there! About a month ago, I started stretching 2 times a day. It takes 5-10 minutes of my time and let me tell you, it is well worth it. I feel far more limber and way less stiff! I didn't think I would feel such a difference considering my job keeps me relatively active, but I feel amazing for it! It is also so calming to stretch before I go to bed. Like I said, short and sweet. I just wanted to come he... Wed, 29 Jul 2015 07:07:51 EST Using exercise to get out of something?! I am sure everyone has made excuses to get out of exercising at some point (or many points, even!) I mean, I can't be the only one who has mastered the art of rationalizing why I shouldn't work out. But has anyone used exercise as an excuse to get out of something else?
I did, today, for what was probably my first time ever. I started this huge art project a while ago; a sculpture bigger than any I have made, out of a completely new material. I don't know why I started it (it's so hard... Sat, 14 Apr 2012 18:58:33 EST I'm not a quitter if I try again, right? I'm not a quitter if I try again, right?

I know that everyone faces roadblocks at some point or another, but I was on the right track, and for so long! I was working out 5-6 times a week, eating well, and in great shape --just a year ago! Somewhere along the way, everything changed, though, and for the worse. My body is so different-- fatter, slower, achier, and more tired--than its ever been and I don't like it one bit.

This whole time, while I've been gaining weight a... Sun, 2 Oct 2011 13:39:44 EST C25K:W1D1, W1D1 again and again! (And my garden!!) So, I ran a few more times and I still can't complete the first week of the couch to 5k program. The biggest reason was that it was just so hot last week! I was dying of heat so I just couldn't do it. I have been active in other ways the last week. I love my Kinect!! It seems like it will be cooling down the next few days, so I will keep trying!

I planted a garden this year, for my first time ever! Today when I went to see it, I had 3 baby cucumbers (and inch or so long), some ti... Tue, 21 Jun 2011 21:45:15 EST The measurable results are in! I don't really like using the scale. I use it, but I never feel discouraged when the numbers don't go down. (Although, I do feel happy when they do!)

I much prefer to measure myself (hips, waist, thighs, etc) and track my progress that way. I measured myself today and I saw a lot of decreases. It makes me feel good, especially when my thigh measurements go down; I have always been pretty self-conscious about them.

I think I am also going to take a picture of myself in... Fri, 10 Jun 2011 10:41:21 EST First blog post here! And day 1 of the c25k Hello! This is my first blog post here. I am going to try an update this often so that I can have a journal of my progress, including physical and mental hurdles and achievements.

I reached my first hurdle of discouragement today when I did day one of the couch to 5k; I couldn't even finish all the running parts! I got 17 minutes in and I was ready to give up. I kept walking for the rest of the time though, so it wasn't a complete disaster. I guess I have a lot of work to do, espec...
