Tue, 15 Apr 2014 21:17:13 EST Daffodils and Evergreens http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5672321 Yesterday, when I walked the dogs, I saw a kingfisher- and boy did he protest us being at "his" pond! That evening my husband and I went for a two mile walk along the road, and when we came back we had one daffodil open for the first time this year. Today we had several. :) So cheerful.
You can see our basset hound's tail and lead in the picture too...haha.
Hubby and I planted some blue spruce today, from the Arbor ... Mon, 14 Apr 2014 20:30:01 EST Spark Tracker survives http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5669331 Can you believe my Spark Tracker went through the wash, on regular cycle, with a full load of laundry, and through the dryer, and is doing fine? Crazy Thu, 10 Apr 2014 20:53:16 EST Spark Tracker http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5647143 I wear it regularly, and it's kind of neat to see how many steps I've taken, but it is awfully annoying that you can't write down what exercise you did when you do a work out. It will record that amount of time for you, saying how many calories you burned, when it doesn't even know what you did. So if you don't mind having it do that (for instance, it may say I burned 94 calories when I did high intensity aerobics for 32 minutes), then no big deal. I'm trying not to let it matter to me. But I... Thu, 13 Mar 2014 17:39:39 EST Flat on my back yesterday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5589295 So my husband and I went to walk the dogs yesterday, and we are walking through the six inches of new snow when I suddenly encounter pure ice under that snow. Both feet went out from under me and down I went on my back. I remember hitting at the part that is just under your neck, second, where your spine kinda "sticks out" in that area, and then my head, but my head is fine. I've been sore in spots. Definitely out of alignment in spots. I have had things moving here and there and I think I'm ... Fri, 10 Jan 2014 14:00:04 EST My experience with the Spark Activity Tracker so far http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5585596 I started wearing the Spark Activity Tracker night before last. That night and the next day I'm thinking...hm, it just seems to track how many steps I take- it's just a pedometer after all that? But today I was able to do some low impact aerobics (My back was bad before that, and I went to the chiropractor yesterday), and when I went to input my exercise on the website, the spark activity tracker said that it had tracked a certain amount of minutes of some kind of activity, and was asking if ... Tue, 7 Jan 2014 12:15:58 EST Exercised this morning http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5571555 We walked the dogs before sunrise, and I did some more Christmas prep and then did some walk away the pounds with stretch bands before my shower.
I didn't FEEL like exercising, but felt good about having done so afterward.
My son isn't home for Christmas -first time ever- and his package from us didn't get there before Christmas- sure hope it will tomorrow (I have a friend who hasn't gotten TWO packages and the post office can't find them)... but I hope he has a good day somehow. He... Wed, 25 Dec 2013 09:58:19 EST The changes since losing half the goal weight http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5564680 Since losing half my weight, I'm of course wearing smaller clothes, and feeling better about how I look in clothes. Just the other day my husband looked at me while I was finishing getting ready for work (curling hair), and said, "Wow, you really HAVE gotten thinner!" THAT felt good. :) It does feel pretty good to look at my whole profile in a mirror now. Exercise has helped with that too- not just the food plan.
When I take a shower I don't have those pads of fat any longer under my arm... Sun, 15 Dec 2013 07:37:45 EST Past my halfway mark goal for weight loss! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5564022 This last week, adding in almond milk really helped with the protein shakes I take to work with me. They tasted so much better. Getting my at least two cups of veggies per meal (like I'm supposed to) did too, though I admit I didn't do that always for breakfast.
But Classic carb-cycling week one after a slingshot week- went well- 2.6 lbs down! Just under my halfway point for weight loss. Woohoo! Sat, 14 Dec 2013 07:08:41 EST Nope, not getting another kitty http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5563727 I could tell the gal was in love with the kitty and vice versa so I suggested she ask her landlord if she might let her keep the kitty. The landlord said yes.
The kitty looks to be well enamored of their place already and our weather is atrocious for travel so it all works out for the best. Fri, 13 Dec 2013 16:49:26 EST Might be getting another pet http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5562392 There is a stray kitty that had a friend (who is a distance away) take pity on it -even got a checkup and shots today. The friend can't keep the kitty due to renting and it being against the lease, so put out a plea for the kitty to get a good home. Hubby and I would like it, so if the storms subside long enough, hopefully, Saturday we will meet about half way there and we will have the four month old kitty. I hope she and our older cat and our two dogs get along well right from the start. :) Wed, 11 Dec 2013 20:31:39 EST Veggie shake success http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5560640 Today is low carb day so I decided to try making veggie shakes again. This time it tasted pretty good, with that addition of non-dairy milk, rather than using water. It cut down on the sweetness of the protein powder I'm able to use. Though I did find another flavor of theirs that I can use, and ordered it today, yay.
Today's first shake was made with my protein powder, two cups of spinach (which I'm testing again to see if I break out from), coconut milk, and a half of an avocado for t... Mon, 9 Dec 2013 15:41:50 EST Dentist and Veggies http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5559040 Yesterday I went to the dentist. I broke a tooth mid-September and hubby has been wanting to know how much to put in for FSA so I got my appointment over with and know how much we'll need for my teeth. They WANT to build up two teeth, and crown one. However, they gave me an alternative -to "fill" both. I can have two surface filling for one and three surface filling for the other (the broken one)- and that was WAY cheaper so I'm going with that. It's not 'til February though. The second tooth... Sat, 7 Dec 2013 12:02:23 EST Hunter on our land again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5553572 Hubby helped walk the dogs today and he was determined we do go out back. Someone did shoot while we were out there, but guess it wasn't real close by.
It was looking like no one had been on any of our trails since the snowfall between Wednesday and Thursday, until we got to one part of a trail and then there it was. They stayed on that trail and went to the pond and went around and onto another trail and we didn't keep following it then and headed home. I told my husband he should go pu... Sat, 30 Nov 2013 16:53:42 EST Two point Six pounds down this week! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5553260 That's exciting- to get on the scale and see 2.6 pounds down! I knew my jeans were feeling loose on me yesterday- I've definitely been releasing fat, woohoo!
I had switched from turbo cycle to classic cycle last week and this week (turbo is supposed to be faster weight loss, I'm sure you can tell by its name), and my body definitely seems to release fat better following that (Classic). It's just alternating a low carb day with a high carb day (plus you get a reward day of up to 1000 extr... Sat, 30 Nov 2013 08:40:05 EST Today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5552840 This morning I went right out to shovel when I saw we did not get the one inch of snow we were told we were going to get, but more like 7-8 inches.
It took me 74 minutes to shovel. My lower back got a good workout. :)
After a bit I took the dogs individually for a trudge...errrr hike, and the total walk time was 45 minutes. We did not go out back- thanks to hunters I'm afraid to now...
Everything's really pretty outside. I even saw one branch draped with snow in one spot that l... Fri, 29 Nov 2013 14:25:28 EST My Thanksgiving day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5552356 It went great getting the food ready for Thanksgiving dinner today. I only brought crockpot sweet potatoes and apples (spark recipe), whole cranberry sauce (spark recipe-no sugar in it), a veggie tray with dips, broccoli slaw (my sister loves it), green bean casserole (my mom's request) and tea.
We walked the dogs after letting the cranberry sauce cool. The snow was crunchy so the sound of it must have really scared some turkeys that weren't too far from us- we saw them fly away. It's am... Thu, 28 Nov 2013 17:43:14 EST Pity party blog http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5551629 Ever get so frustrated that all you want to do is complain? I'm pretty much there today.
It started with a couple cousins commenting on facebook that it's so sad that a cousin of theirs has very little family that will have anything to do with him.
I know this family that they're talking about -wonderful people. Wonderful! What they know is only what he has told them. They don't know the others' side(s) of the story. What he has done/said to the family -it's mighty awful. I've seen... Wed, 27 Nov 2013 15:41:28 EST A good day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5549187 I'm feeling so much better today. It's great to not have head pain anymore. The chiropractor took care of that, and boy did I hear it when my foot was put back into alignment,by him Friday, from when I twisted it two and a half weeks ago.
My lower back was still mighty sore (yes, from being put back in alignment) even this morning, but I decided to try low impact aerobics (4 miles with Leslie Sansone) and I'm glad I did. I'm feeling much more normal now.
Still have a goose egg from ... Sun, 24 Nov 2013 15:26:46 EST And it happened again... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5548036 Yeah, I threw up way worse today. At least it was AFTER work this time.
So time to get down to the figuring out of it all. What was in common two days ago (when I first threw up) that wasn't in common yesterday but was today....zucchini and celery. This is a curious thing. I looked up zucchini and interestingly found that many people have had such a reaction as I have to raw zucchini. Nausea, bloating and oftentimes the people also have vomiting. Okay then. So what is IN zucchini that co... Fri, 22 Nov 2013 22:00:02 EST If you vomit, does prior food and drink still count? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5546227 Yeah, great topic, huh?
So here's the story, in case you're still with me on reading it.
I bent over to plug in my curling iron. When I did, the larger curling iron came flying down and hit my head behind my ear. What a sound that made inside my head. Okay, I've had concussions before. Was trying to figure out if I had one again. My pupils looked okay. I was a little shook up... maybe slightly achey in my head. Maybe a little bit queasy. I'd eaten about an hour and a half previously... Wed, 20 Nov 2013 15:15:23 EST Time to step it up http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5543004 I've let "twisting my ankle" (a week and a half ago) and having a sore neck make me too lazy this last week (I was even able to run, while carrying my heavy work bag yesterday- no pain). So today I decided to catch up on what fitness minutes I had planned for my week. I did it. :) Mainly leg workouts though- and boy am I glad for Epsom salt! I had a nice bath with that stuff in it.
I think it really is best if I exercise before work each day, so that will be my goal. I've slacked off on ... Sat, 16 Nov 2013 21:32:26 EST A different computer and staying on track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5537683 Yesterday I was cold so much of the time, for some reason. Working on my frustrating computer probably had to do with it (somewhat stressful!). Then I had to go into town and get some things done with my son in law and my daughter. That took some time. We got his computer over here and found out that my monitor doesn't work with it. Okay... I was soooo hungry by then (had not thought I'd be out so long so was well past when I should have ate)- which made me super duper tired. Anyway, hubby an... Sun, 10 Nov 2013 21:37:35 EST Interferences http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5536364 Yep, that's what it is, interference. A computer that wants to shut down a LOT, with seemingly no rhyme or reason (I've taken it back to factory specs, keep doing updates, etc.), and then the other day I stretched (just out of the blue) upward and put something in my back out of place (affected the under side of my shoulder blade area). I was just "sore" so didn't realize it was from that stretch until I thought back on it. Then I was walking across a parking lot to get to a work meeting, wea... Sat, 9 Nov 2013 07:48:04 EST Aw man http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5533180 I have been having major computer problems. I finally got this computer working well (looks like), and I come to spark people and find out I forgot to log in when I used hubby's computer to come to spark people yesterday! So much for that spark streak. Ah well. Tue, 5 Nov 2013 18:24:04 EST Tomorrow begins my second slingshot week for carb cycling http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5530890 Tomorrow begins week 8 on the carb cycling plan for me, which means I eat high carb (it's still hard for me to even get to 1500 calories for such as suggested for women) every day (It's called a slingshot week, and comes after three weeks of carb cycling low and high carb combo days), with a reward day, like today, at the end of that week. It's to rev the metabolism for the next few weeks of weight loss on whichever plan I do. I want to stick with turbo, but do classic (alternates low carb/hi... Sun, 3 Nov 2013 11:36:26 EST red palm oil http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5529857 Red palm oil likely helped me lose weight this week too.
I just started using raw red palm oil this last week (don't used processed). It's fascinating. It looks a bit like baked sweet potato (the inside part), but melts in your hand when you touch it. It's orange. The taste is light. Lots of A in it. :) It revs the metabolism right away, unlike other fats. It has antioxidants/omega 3- it lowers cholesterol, helps fight heart disease- it can remove placque build up in arteries! It's an an... Sat, 2 Nov 2013 08:27:32 EST Carb Cycling Chris Powell's way works http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5529848 Yep, even with eating crazily everything I wanted on reward day, which was last Sunday for me, (well, you get to have up to 1000 calories more than you normally eat in a day, on your reward/cheat day- the goal being to surprise your metabolism, throwing it into high gear), I made sure I did the shapers (nine minutes on weekdays of doing three exercises that strengthen things you already need those muscles to do- like squatting toward the floor and back up, etc), and an hour of aerobics (thoug... Sat, 2 Nov 2013 08:08:27 EST This week so far http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5528632 I tried to get an updated pic the other day, but discovered I'd lost the uploading cord to the camera, so am waiting for one to come by mail. Oh well! I'm looking forward to my weigh in this week- maybe I'll have the cord and be able to give an even more current picture after that!
I've been exercising before going to work this week. Yay- I found I can do some right after drinking my breakfast.
My student was sick today so I got to do more exercise when I came home.
I had somet... Thu, 31 Oct 2013 20:07:47 EST Different food http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5524937 I made myself some hash browns this morning. I just grated some potato, added some sea salt, pepper and onion powder and fried it in red palm oil. It was good. :)
I found a recipe for mayonnaise that doesn't have eggs (allergies) and that I will probably do well with for the nickel allergy. Have yet to make and use it though. It was just nice to find one.
I used my oven to cook some meat and some root veggies today. It is nice to have that ready ahead of time for upcoming meals. <B... Sun, 27 Oct 2013 20:43:50 EST An encouraging day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5524242 I just got home from a double birthday party. I ate only what I was supposed to for this high carb day. It was nice to visit with so much family.
I gave away my bigger sized pants to family tonight (3 different females). Some other things too- a dress, a sweater, etcetera. They are glad for them, and I am glad to not keep them around for "just in case". I had actually wanted to "swim" in my clothes to a degree, but fought the urge, saying they could use them more than I could, and I put ... Sat, 26 Oct 2013 22:38:03 EST 1.4 lbs this week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5523785 I think that's pretty good, considering I only did half the exercise I normally do. It was just a crazy busy week.
So I'm just over 15 pounds down from when I started losing weight early last month! Yay:)
Here's to a great next week for all of us! Sat, 26 Oct 2013 10:09:56 EST Nickel Allergy Support Team started today! :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5518877 The highlight of the day for me was having a new team started for those with a nickel allergy. There wasn't one before. I'm one of the team leaders. Although... I can't seem to locate OURS when I try to find one now...but here is a link to it, in case you know of anyone who could use some support with that allergy.
http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/group
s_individual.asp?gid=61461 Sun, 20 Oct 2013 21:59:18 EST One Fourth of the Way There! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5517868 It's been about five weeks since I got determined that I would lose the weight and keep it off this time.
I've lost just over 1/4 of the weight I need to make my doctor happy already.
I've found a food and exercise plan that works well for me.
I've discovered what has been causing the skin problems I've had over a year, and they're bettering as I deduct what I can eat and can't. I break out again when I eat something to test it, so far, but I'll get there.
I'm actually ki... Sat, 19 Oct 2013 15:55:36 EST Hiking, hiking, and more hiking (and a couple pics) :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5512645 Wow, what a full day! I made some banana bread and some zucchini bread this morning (wearing gloves so the wheat wouldn't touch my skin), and my daughter and her husband were thrilled to have some (and get sent home with some later). The one loves the one kind and the other loves the other kind. I still have plenty for my hubby's lunches too. :)
Then said daughter and SIL came and took me for a hike. My sweet daughter gave me her camera, saying she is fine with just using her cell phone.... Sun, 13 Oct 2013 21:11:03 EST All in a day/weekend http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5511950 I had planned to work on paring down things in the house today but my parents decided we needed to go shopping with them. On the way there hubby got himself some food at Burger King. I had eaten on my three hour schedule already, and can't eat much of anything there anyway due to gluten and nickel and other allergies. I told myself I can remember the flavors and enjoy it that way-just the memory, being grateful for that.
We ended up getting Christmas gifts (Yeah, can you beleive it?) f... Sat, 12 Oct 2013 23:31:30 EST Well that's encouraging http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5505991 I tried on my next size down stretch jeans, and they fit well! I tried on the same size in regular jeans, and it's a no go- in the belly- probably because today is reward day, but still, I think I'll give it another week or two before I try those on again. :)
I'm just thrilled the stretch jeans feel and look good! Sun, 6 Oct 2013 12:36:43 EST Boxing day(s) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5503914 I got stuff done in the house today (plus my exercising of course). I have a box of books and a box of clothes ready to go to the rescue mission store.
Hubby got some big things out of the house for me today. Things we never use. So that was great as well.
I found out that I'm not going to work tomorrow either, but they're hoping I'll be back to work regularly next week, just one of the students and I are to be in a whole new place.
Hubby and I went out for dinner. That was t... Thu, 3 Oct 2013 22:38:14 EST It's been a good day all in all http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5502927 My second new student I met today. She is a very good worker.
I have no idea if my time sheet was received, since the secretary didn't see it and said she would call if she did, and didn't call. heh
Got my exercising in this afternoon.
Went out for dinner with a friend to celebrate her birthday.
Came home to some frustration but it's a long story, so suffice it to say, it's not exactly my problem, hubby is taking care of it, so I should try not to dwell on it any further.... Wed, 2 Oct 2013 21:49:57 EST First day back to work worked out well with food http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5501626 Since I'm carb cycling, I'm supposed to eat every three hours. I decided to figure out what I could do to make that work. So I got food ready the night before for breakfast, set my alarm earlier, and when I got up I got eating that breakfast. Then, since I'm up so early, I started preparing my next two meals for while I'd be at work. I used my nutri-bullet to make protein veggie shakes for those, and it worked out well getting them at the three hour intervals I needed to. Yay, success! Tue, 1 Oct 2013 16:58:26 EST a short one http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5500732 I did my 5lb kettlebell workout (47 minutes) today. What a workout. My heart was beating so hard in much of it! Sweaty! Good workout.
I found out today that I'm to start work with a new student tomorrow, and I'll be starting work where my daughter works! So I'm to help a student learn a job where she already has a job. So funny. :) Mon, 30 Sep 2013 21:22:56 EST Today I made wild grape jelly (pics) and skillet granola http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5499750 Hubby helped me get some much higher up wild grapes last evening, so I was busy trying to get all those little grapes plucked.

Then I cooked them, one batch at a time, rigged up a way for them to drip from cheese cloth into a pan and got some jelly made! Only one jar did not seal, and so hubby can start using that one right away in his sandwiches for work. I did taste a little bit and it was quite good. :)
<im... Sun, 29 Sep 2013 22:48:58 EST I got my vitamin D http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5498817 It was 70 today, but the sun was so nice and strong, even though it was a cool wind, I went out there dressed for the coolness and got into my lounge chair and just soaked up the rays. Oh it felt good. After a bit a chipmunk yelled at me too much so I gave it up, but I had thoroughly enjoyed the time I had out there. :)
I did pick maybe a gallon of kiwi and some wild grapes prior to that. The kiwi is in jars in the fridge. I hope to make some jelly with the grapes tomorrow. Sat, 28 Sep 2013 20:37:08 EST Oops http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5497986 I got these pickled veggies yesterday, and remembered Dr. Oz saying pickled (vinegar anyway) veggies help you with losing weight. I ate some and it felt like I'd had too much salt. Sure enough, the sodium is high enough for one serving, and I had two. Should have paid more attention. Ugh! So I'm going to try to add in lemon juice and onion for my last meal of the day, since they are natural dieretics, and hope that this doesn't affect my weigh in. Ah well! Fri, 27 Sep 2013 18:23:30 EST Kayaking today! (Yep, pics) :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5496199 Yay, I finally got to go kayaking again this year! It was a pretty day for it.
This is above, but looking toward the area you put in.

You have to go around this tree almost immediately after putting the kayaks into the water.
Then head on from there.
It was about 75 m... Wed, 25 Sep 2013 19:42:26 EST The weekend was good http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5493248 It's been a pretty good weekend. Today I tried a variety of gluten free foods, since finding I very likely have a problem with gluten. I made some pizza crust for myself last night, because the rest of the fam, for our get together, wanted pizza for lunch before a movie today. I cooked up some lean pork that was rather salty and sliced it well for a pizza topping for myself- it worked well. Then I took some non-dairy non-gluten "shredded cheese", I found at the health food store just in time,... Sun, 22 Sep 2013 22:48:32 EST Five lbs with turbo carb cycling this week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5491757 Pretty nice to have lost five pounds on the turbo cycling this week. That's my first full week of carb cycling, and I started eating better at the beginning of September. I am astounded how Chris Powell has the mechanics worked out so you can eat just about all you want (up to a thousand calories more than the other days) one day a week on the turbo carb cycling plan (there are other plans, but reward meals are a part of each) and don't exercise on the weekends, but normally lose about five p... Sat, 21 Sep 2013 08:40:37 EST Enjoying the last "hot" day of summer :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5491291 Oh yeah, you'd better believe I went out there and enjoyed the sunshine today. Just lying down in a lounge chair, but still...it felt so nice. It's quite breezy so I had leaves falling down on me from time to time, but it's still pretty much green all around out there. It's supposed to be 80.
The temp is to plummet after today, and I'm disappointed I couldn't go kayaking -I've only been able to go twice this year.....but I understand hubby being sore after backpacking (just got home yest... Fri, 20 Sep 2013 16:12:59 EST A nice summer day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5489607 Today I decided mainly to relax and enjoy the day. It's one of the last days of summer. My favorite season, and it was warmer than yesterday. So I went and sat at the pond, went and laid down under some evergreens (I've wanted to do that all summer, and finally did it today), then went and laid down on a picnic bench with the sun shining on me...until a chipmunk saw me and had to complain about it. Then I went back to the pond. I did see a couple kinds of turtles there. It was neat to sit on ... Wed, 18 Sep 2013 20:21:00 EST More food stored better http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5487685 Let's see if I can remember everything I took out of packages and put into smaller ones today. Kale, spinach, mixed greens, romaine, (It is SO strange to see a big package of these four things each shrink way down, in their new packaging of course, and make crinkle sounds as it's doing so with that sealer, lol), leeks, green onions, carrots, radishes, tofu- hm, maybe that's it.
Then the new canning sealers came in. Ooooo, I can't wait to put salad in those, in the fridge- and other thing... Mon, 16 Sep 2013 21:29:06 EST
