It goes by so quickly, much faster that any other day of the year.

Today I walked at the park again. It is getting easier and easier and I have very little pain in my foot now. Occasionally I will get a twinge but nothing like I experienced in the past. I can do three laps easily now and some days the only that stops me is the glare of the sun and the heat.

I have been losing again too, which makes me very ha... Tue, 23 Aug 2016 18:49:46 EST Day off from packing (finally) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6220487 Did three full laps again today and then later DD and I headed over to the mall in Ann Arbor to walk around and window shop. So far I am up to over 20,000 steps! Haven't seen numbers like that in months.

Window shopping. I used to love window shopping but since adopting a more frugal lifestyle and deciding that doing that was a recipe for disaster I just don't shop much. Today we were actually looking for silicone cooking mats so we were doing a bit more than window shopping. ... Thu, 18 Aug 2016 18:45:04 EST Where Did That Come From? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6219650 More boxing and hauling yesterday and not enough steps to talk about but I was still moving so it is all good. Today, while quite humid, is cool enough and I headed over to the park early today to get some steps in. Did three (!) big laps and it felt wonderful. I could have walked longer but choose to stop at my car and eat my morning 70 calories of cheese instead and guzzle down some water. After doing my stretches I was off for home again and my cluttered house.

DH keeps brin... Wed, 17 Aug 2016 10:56:44 EST Future exercise class http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6217934 The house is slowly emptying. There are few pieces of large furniture that we can't move on our own, just too heavy. Our china cabinet and the fold-out couch in the basement. DH 'thinks' he can move that couch by himself but I really don't want him getting a hernia even trying. I think the rest of the stuff will be going in the apartment, though the dining area is small here so we will be using only 3 chairs but storing the 4th in DD's bedroom for when older DD comes over for Sunday dinne... Sun, 14 Aug 2016 18:09:06 EST More moving tales http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6217371 So we finally have a closing date on the house and the farmland. Still over a week away but DH has been busy digging out all sorts of stuff from the vast cavern that is our basement. He brought up three (3!) Barbie cars yesterday. They were filthy since they have been parked under some shelving for years and years. He took them outside for the rain to clean off but so far no rain has come.

Then he brought up the tub of Barbie dolls themselves. Holey cow did my daughters own a ... Sat, 13 Aug 2016 16:43:46 EST Nice Long Walk http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6213907 After resting my feet for a couple days I was back at it again. I am trying very hard to not go overboard. Did two long laps and a short foray into the neighboring neighborhood to check out a house I saw in the newspaper that was having an open house today. Not sure why I went but it didn't matter since I never did find it.

Left later than I ever had before - 9AM. I am usually done with my morning walk way before 9AM so just starting out was weird. But my friend Sharon was the... Sun, 7 Aug 2016 19:50:34 EST Box Tales http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6213409 Turns out those $1.14 boxes were too big. Hernia big is what DH called them. So we returned them today and got the next smaller size and finished boxing up all my books. DH is not happy with all my books. Granted a good deal of them are from when the girls were little. I hate to get rid of all those kid books because a lot of care was taken in choosing them and some of them are from an old friend who is no longer with us. We also own a complete set of childrens science books that older ... Sat, 6 Aug 2016 20:13:11 EST Boxing Up Life http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6212922 Started boxing stuff today and hauling to the storage facility. I did books from the den until we ran out of cardboard boxes. DH is pretty fussy about the size of the boxes we use. I mentioned that we could get some boxes from the grocery store that did not have food in them but he is pretty adamant on the size. I even talked with the grocery guy and he said to come before 9AM since they are pretty picked over after 9. I may still do it anyway but I did stop at Home Depot today and bough... Fri, 5 Aug 2016 20:28:43 EST Starting the move http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6212292 Our house sold. And the farmland too. Got offers on both within the same week. We were actually offered more than the asking price which was pretty amazing. According to our realtor it is common if the buyer is wanting you to kick in part of the closing costs. Not really sure how it is helpful to them since the money we are kicking in is actually from them. Closing is in a couple of weeks on both properties.

But we have been looking for somewhere to live after all the paperwo... Thu, 4 Aug 2016 16:54:06 EST Catching Up http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6211698 Well older DD and I have been back for 2 weeks now. The trip itself was wonderful. I had always wanted to visit Seattle and Portland and now I have. Not sure if I would return to either town but that is okay. We did a day trip over to Bainbridge Island and after being teased about my desire to go there it turned out to be the best part of the trip. We walked most of the island and put in a lot of steps that day. I would love to go back one day and spend a couple of days just exploring ... Wed, 3 Aug 2016 16:57:04 EST Trip is Fast Approaching! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6196409 Back resting my foot again. It is very hot and humid lately so it is a good time to do it. DD and I leave next Tuesday for our big hiking trip out west. Gotta be ready and able to walk all day or she will be a mighty disappointed young woman.

I'm getting excited about the trip now. Printed out all our travel documents yesterday but was unable to do the boarding pass for our flight out. Can't do until the day before. We are taking the train back again after 2 weeks and that in... Thu, 7 Jul 2016 10:37:24 EST Day 3 and Feeling Great http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6189021 Walking is still a little slow but once my foot gets warmed up I am a walking maniac! Today I did 2 large laps with DH since he had the day off. It was a bit warmer than it has been. After our walk he headed over to older DD's house to install a new screen door for her. She has had it for 3 years now waiting for him to get the time. I added it to his "honey-do" list last week and today it finally happened. She is pretty excited.

While he was doing that she and I went over to ... Fri, 24 Jun 2016 19:15:02 EST Day 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6188298 Walked again today. 3 full laps. It is cooler today, slightly overcast. Made walking much more comfortable. I'm still going pretty slowly. Takes at least a full lap for my foot to relax, still have pain but I march on. Usually by the time I have finished two laps it feels pretty good. No leg cramping today either and that is wonderful. I'm kinda having fun with those push-ups, who knew they could be a fun addition.

Getting my hair cut this afternoon. I've been growing it s... Thu, 23 Jun 2016 14:22:15 EST Foot Pain and the Road to Recovery http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6187731 Injured my right foot about a week before school let out. Thought I over-stretched it after a workout. But the pain remained for a long while. Especially painful when I wore my newest pair of walking shoes (same brand as always - Brooks). Then last Monday while I was walking, and over a mile from my car, the pain was just too much. I had to stop. Jumped a little, tried to shake it out. Rested on a bench too. Nope nothing worked. I spent a long, long time hobbling back to my car. I j... Wed, 22 Jun 2016 16:05:38 EST Motivation (or lack thereof) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6173885 I haven't been on in a while. I've been having trouble with being motivated. I noticed it during the winter and it has clung on during the spring. My step counts are down and I don't even bat an eye now when I don't even make 10,000 a day. What has happened to me?

I put on a some weight over the winter. I attribute it to not being able to walk home every day like I was used to. DD and I had to share a car, and by sharing I mean I would have to drop her off at campus in the ea... Tue, 31 May 2016 16:52:24 EST Back walking again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6164370 After a 3 days "rest" I finally got to go for a walk in the park again today. I call it "rest" because it was a forced rest for me. Snow, hail, freezing temps in the middle of May just did me in. I packed away all the winter gear so I had nothing to brave the elements in and I was absolutely not going to unpack anything with the knowledge that I would have to wash and put it away again.

Then yesterday I decided that I needed to walk and was willing to wear 2 fleece jackets over ... So far no rain, but the sky looks like it could open up at any moment. While I'm sitting here I can hear the tree frogs singing. They are especially loud today. Singing for rain maybe? Younger DD absolutely hates tree frogs. They hide on our back porch, they hide on our front porch, they climb the house and attach themselves to her window. When she was younger I sent her to get the mail out of the box for me. Unknown to me there was one inside ... Thu, 12 May 2016 16:41:37 EST Mother's Day, Part II http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6158977 Today was a wonderful Mother's Day. DH and I went for a long walk early in the morning. Then a stop at Meijer to get some annual flower seeds for a flowerbed, a couple of plants for some pots on our back porch, and some meat that he wanted to grill later in the day for dinner.

Younger DD got up and told me that she would be making lemon pudding for me for Mother's Day. I am a sucker for lemon pudding. Absolutely love the stuff and she knows it. Especially warm. Gave me someth... Sun, 8 May 2016 20:56:19 EST Mother's Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6158350 Tomorrow is Mother's Day. The last day in the gift trifecta for me (birthday, anniversary, Mother's day). This is the first giftable day that I have actually asked for something. Something that I have wanted for a couple of years--an Aria scale by FitBit.

Seems a weird gift I know but it will all link up to my account. It is much smaller than my current ancient scale. And I am hoping that it will really help keep me motivated too since it will be linking up. DH found a really... Sat, 7 May 2016 18:02:25 EST Being a Mom http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6156345 Yesterday older DD was sick and I stayed home to take care of her. You wouldn't think a 26-year old would still need mom to come over but she did. Gave herself food poisoning and she was one sick young woman. Turns out she slept on the bathroom floor which gave her a back ache. Throwing up so much also gave her a hunched over appearance since her tummy hurt too. And she was ghostly pale from being sick. Not a good day for her but I haven't heard from her today so I imagine she is gettin... Wed, 4 May 2016 15:41:13 EST Prunes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6151642 I love prunes and I eat them almost every day. Seven delicious little prunes keep me happy and my fiber intake in good measure.

In the past I have shared my prune stash with students always calling them "dried plums" since so many judge them harshly by the prune name. Never have I had a student say they did not like them. Never! Usually they ask for another, or will pop in months later and ask if I still keep them in my desk and can they have one. Quite funny.

Yeste... Wed, 27 Apr 2016 18:24:39 EST Solution for My Tiredness http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6150948 I'm pretty sure this going in early and having the life sucked out of me by those awful 7th graders is what is making me so tired every day. I get home a bit after 2PM, eat my lunch and then just want to go to bed I am so tired. I have zero energy and have fallen asleep early more times than I care to admit to.

But today I wouldn't let sleep overtake me. I ate a bowl of vegetable noodle soup and even though I was yawning so much I could barely keep my eyes open I decided that ... Tue, 26 Apr 2016 19:27:09 EST Loss of an icon http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6147390 Prince Rogers Nelson died today. My older DD texted me at school and dropped that bomb on me. I have been a huge fan of his since my younger days. His music is always played very loud in my car. My kids hate it but tolerate it too. If you ride with momma you listen to Prince (or the BeeGee's another fave).

It left me pretty speechless. And when a student asked what happened I said that Prince had died. No one in the room knew who he was! I mentioned Purple Rain and that bro... Thu, 21 Apr 2016 16:53:49 EST It's been a long school year.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6146645 I work in a middle school with 6th, 7th and 8th graders. This year we have been having a really difficult time with the 7th grade. Difficult as in the principal had to sit in a classroom two days in a row to make them behave. Since then she has had me come in an hour earlier to keep them in line (did I mention that I fill in in the ISS (in school suspension) room for lunch detention each day? I also do the secretary position during her lunch so I'm all over that school and come in contac... Wed, 20 Apr 2016 16:51:59 EST Rough Walk Today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6144290 78 degrees today. Went for a walk in the park around noon after cooking all morning for the rest of the week. It started out at 43 degrees when I woke up which is why I choose to cook first, walk later. I think I made a mistake.

By the time I was leaving for the park it was already 68. I had on a tee shirt and a pair of capris that I like to walk in because they have lots of pockets. I was doing quite well initially but about halfway thru the long loop it became pretty obvious... Sun, 17 Apr 2016 15:20:17 EST Rice as a Protein http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6142442 Yesterday in math class our book used the amount of protein in rice as an example for the students to figure out. "There's protein in rice?" I was thinking. So today I looked it up on the computer - yes there is. Normally I skip the rice when we have it thinking it is just a starch, well not anymore - there's protein in those little kernels! Thu, 14 Apr 2016 20:05:17 EST Shopping with DH http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6138721 Awoke to five more inches of snow. Very beautiful but it really is not what I wanted to see in April. Wonder how my daffodils are doing buried under all that stuff?

Went dress shoe shopping with DH today. Men's shoes are so ugly. He is very partial to loafers, which, of course, we had a great deal of difficulty locating today. I did an Amazon search before we went out so we would have a price point to shoot for. Since we didn't find what he wanted locally I think we are going to ... Sat, 9 Apr 2016 20:23:44 EST Barkley Marathon http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6138068 Watched a movie today about the Barkley Marathon which is run in Tennessee. Never heard of it before but the movie was fascinating. It was from a couple years ago when it was the first time they had had 3 people actually finish. That "race" is actually over 100 miles long and is run in 60 hours or less! Amazing.

I am working hard to catch up on my step count. 20,000 yesterday, 23,000 so far today. Fri, 8 Apr 2016 19:40:25 EST My trip to the south http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6137129 Got back from my southern trek to Virginia. What a trip we had!

First off I need to mention that I am deathly afraid of heights. Almost panic attack afraid. That being said did I mention that I had to drive thru the mountains of West Virginia to even get to Virginia? Well I did and hated every second of it. I thought driving thru Charleston was going to kill me panic wise. I don't know if my daughter realized how awful it was for me until later when I kept insisting that I wa... Thu, 7 Apr 2016 12:43:51 EST April Goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6132355 Today I will be doing my annual Spring garage cleaning. Some years it takes me the better part of spring break to get it done. This year, since older DD and I are heading to Virginia tomorrow (hurray!), I have to get it done in one day. No dilly-dallying. Right now I am just waiting for younger DD to leave with the car so I can get to it.

Older DD and I have decided to leave a day earlier than originally planned. We will take our time driving down. More relaxing that way. I ... Fri, 1 Apr 2016 09:00:54 EST Sick Again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6129609 Last friday I had an awful sore throat. The school nurse looked at it and told me to go to my doctor by Monday. Well saturday I was down for the count! Sick, sick, sick. Don't really remember much about that day at all. Then yesterday I attempted to take a walk in the park but just couldn't get very far. I was wasted. But we had the mandatory Easter dinner at my younger sister's so I had to go.

Sister had her house open to the breezes. I had to wear my coat the whole time I... Mon, 28 Mar 2016 19:35:19 EST Purging Stuff http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6128166 Today DD and I cleaned out our freezer compartment in the fridge. We are both pretty tidy people and it was not so tidy in there which was bugging both of us. Her a lot more since she is the one who suggested we do it.

DH was gone to older DD house to patch the roof of her shed which had a tree limb fall thru it earlier in the week. So DD and I set to work on purging all the old frozen sausage patties that he has been saving up. Yes, you read that right - he has been saving sau... Sat, 26 Mar 2016 17:53:29 EST Pandora Radio http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6126883 Pandora internet radio has been around for a long time. Older DD used to talk about it when she was still in college many yeas back. Never gave it much thought myself until lately. In my computer lab I allow 8th graders to listen to music when they are doing their online thing. 8th grade only since it is allowed in high school. If, however, we are learning a new concept then all ears have to be listening to me and only me.

But earlier this week I decided to try Pandora playin... Thu, 24 Mar 2016 18:21:42 EST St Jospeh http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6124599 Yesterday DD and I went to our local Catholic shop and purchased a St Joseph statue to help in the sale of our house. We have had numerous people come in and look but no serious offers yet. Last year we listed the house and 10 acres with additional available. We really don't want to be left hanging with acreage that doesn't sell if we are moving away and won't be able to keep an eye on the land so we have changed the listing to the house and all 40 acres. I realize that not many people ar... Mon, 21 Mar 2016 18:46:25 EST Truly Nice Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6123814 Today was a chilly one when I first woke up. 25 degrees on the way to a daily expected high of 35. Wasn't feeling the need to walk this morning but DH obviously was since he pestered me and pestered me until I got my walking gear on and we took off. Well it turned out to be a wonderfully sunny day. Much warmer than 35 even (42). We both worked up a sweat while out walking and I felt like a million bucks by the time we got done. At one point we came upon a broken bottle with shards of gl... Sun, 20 Mar 2016 19:47:54 EST Pie Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6119279 Today was overcast and 57. Should have been a nice day but it was cool instead.

I have been wearing my sweaters one last time and washing and putting them away. This morning I put on one of my Irish sweaters, which I love, but as soon as I had it on I was too hot. So I took it back off and just wore a long sleeved tee. Should have stayed with the sweater since inside the school it was downright cold. All day long I was chilled. My hands were cold, my arms were cold, while I w... Mon, 14 Mar 2016 19:19:38 EST Major Cooking Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6118413 Rainy day today so DH, DD and I spent the day in the kitchen cooking up a storm for the upcoming week. Had a wonderful dinner with all the misc stuff we cooked and then divided it all up into single serve size portions. This is really helpful, not only in watching our portions sizes but in just having the food ready for meals.

DD is still in college and is starving when she gets out in the afternoon. I work until 2PM each day and don't get a break for lunch so I'm really hungry ... Sun, 13 Mar 2016 19:43:49 EST March 11 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6117072 Made my final arrangements for my summer trip to Seattle/Portland. I will be flying out, hiking for a couple of weeks and then taking the train back home.

I love train travel and even though it is more expensive than flying (slower too), I still prefer taking the train. To me it is part of the trip. After hiking for such a long time it will be a nice way to unwind and take in some scenery that I would probably never get to see unless I did it.

Last year when I went ... Fri, 11 Mar 2016 21:13:30 EST Afraid? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6115455 Yesterday and today one of my old high school friends joined me with my afternoon walk. I don't see her very much as she is retired and pretty involved with her grandkids. But what surprises me when I do see her is how she is always talking about how she can't or won't do stuff because she is afraid. Afraid to go bike-riding because someone might attack her. Afraid to ride on a train because it might get in an accident. Afraid to go to the park alone because (again) someone might attack ... Wed, 9 Mar 2016 19:52:05 EST March 8 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6114649 March 8 and it was 74 today. 74! What a glorious day. Voted right after work and then went home to change my clothes - short sleeves and capri pants - and headed over to the park for a long walk. When I got there I was lucky to get a spot to park there were so many people doing exactly what I was doing - enjoying the wonderful weather.

Tomorrow promises to be even warmer with a bit of rain added in. Still happy to see all the snow gone though. Tue, 8 Mar 2016 20:48:34 EST March 7 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6113717 The last trimester started today. New batch of kids and they are wonderful. Not a troublemaker in the lot. I felt like kicking up my heels when class was over for the day. The next 12 weeks are going to be fun, fun, fun I can feel it in my bones.

And the big warm-up has started. 63 degrees today! I actually had to put my car window down a bit as it was too hot (!) in my car when I was leaving. I also opened the hatch on the roof of the car and I need to remember to close it ... Mon, 7 Mar 2016 18:54:16 EST March 6 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6112773 It has been snowing a lot lately. Too much for my taste but it looks like that is almost over. We are expecting warmer temps for the next 15 days, according to Weather.com anyway. The big warm up starts tomorrow and I'm ready for it that's for sure. Swapped out a couple of my tops for long sleeved tees and sweater vests instead of heavy sweaters. I even put away my down jacket today. No that is wishful thinking!

Did our long Sunday walk with DH this morning. It was slippery ... Sun, 6 Mar 2016 17:27:25 EST March 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6109582 Today was a snow day off from school. I was pretty pleased. It is the last week of the trimester and those 7th graders just wear me out. We are only keeping a few of them for the last tri and releasing the 3 boys who give us the most trouble. It is hard to help someone learn who doesn't want to. They are excellent at causing trouble in the classroom and we have to spend so much time dealing with their shenanigans. Not a good fit for our program at all.

But I still got up earl... Wed, 2 Mar 2016 15:13:06 EST March 1 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6108716 I was very lax last month in updating my step spreadsheet. Because of this I missed my goal by 1900 steps. 198 1900! I could have done that pretty quickly too. I kicked myself mentally all the way in to work today over those lousy 1900 steps. But I can't change it now. February is over and done. March is here now and I vow to not get lazy again in posting my step count. I need to get a better handle on where I stand to keep myself motivated. I've been slacking for a coupl... Tue, 1 Mar 2016 16:22:14 EST Women's Clothing Troubles http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6107847 I have a very simple wardrobe. I've been practicing Project 33 for some time now. That is where you have 33 pieces and rotate them out every quarter. Actually I have less than 33 pieces and this weekend I was filled with a need for something new. A sweater preferably, that would go with other things in my limited wardrobe.

But what I have discovered about tops for women who wear a L or XL is this - stores carry either long sleeves or 3/4 sleeves. Nothing, and I mean truly - no... Mon, 29 Feb 2016 17:50:13 EST February 20 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6100708 Last night we had incredible winds. I thought walking home was windy - didn't even compare to what went thru during the night. It was rough sleeping that's for sure.

But went for a walk early this morning once the sun came up. Still pretty windy so walking uphill into the wind was a real struggle. But the devastation at the park was not what I was expecting. Trash cans all over the place, most no where near where they would normally be. A huge tree was uprooted and blocking p... Sat, 20 Feb 2016 17:39:40 EST February 19 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6100032 So today I switched my nutrition tracker to take into account the amount of exercise I do daily. Since I use my FitBit and sync with my account I thought this would be a good thing. Well it upped my calorie range! By a lot too. I have a hard time getting in my calories every day as it is but there is no way I can add an additional 700. Pretty sure I'll be switching back.

Today was a fabulous day. 61 degrees. A bit overcast and super windy but my how wonderful to be out walki... Fri, 19 Feb 2016 18:36:49 EST February 18 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6099228 Turns out split-peas (not my favorite) and lentils are really high on the fiber chart. So are berries, which are out of season and pretty pricey right now. But I do enjoy lentils on occasion so I will work them into my menu next week. Today I added extra beans cause, really, who doesn't like beans. I've been putting a 1/2 cup cannellini into my salad all week and today I also added a 1/2 cup black. Now that was an awesome salad! Some fresh grated pepper and Wowza - I was in heaven.
... Thu, 18 Feb 2016 18:13:29 EST February 17 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6098287 This month I've been doing a fiber challenge. You know the one - eat more fiber, etc. 25-50 mg a day. I've been pretty creative so far getting in those minimum 25. Lots of beans and muesli for me. Prunes too. But it does make one wonder what 50 mg would do? How could I achieve 50? Today I'm going to look around on SP and see what I can come up with to increase my fiber even more.
