Wind chill this time - 20 below is the magic number to get school called off. Personally it doesn't seem that bad to me but I can tolerate cooler weather. Don't really notice wind chill unless it is truly windy (it isn't) but I know kids don't wear coats anymore. I'm not sure when that trend started but it seems so silly to me since we live in Michigan and it gets plenty cold here. I wear a coat. I own quite a few actually depending on what I'm ... Thu, 19 Feb 2015 09:55:26 EST Back Pain, Part 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5874650 The pain has not eased up and yesterday I ended up going to the doctors. My back is killing me and I'm all hunched over. They want to weigh me (okay, but I'm not taking off my shoes), take my BP (here sit on the edge of this chair so I can take it from the arm that is furthest away from the wall-mounted cuff). My BP is high (192) and the Nurse Practioner starts to yell at me. Yes, yell at me! You need to take your readings every day! You should have your own cuff at home! I'm going to ... Thu, 12 Feb 2015 17:06:24 EST iPod Trouble http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5873106 Less than an hour into my walk home yesterday my iPod quit working. Seems I should have plugged it in, and I actually thought about it before leaving for work but didn't. Anyway, as I was walking along it beeped at me and stopped working. My old Shuffle would do that sometimes and I would just turn it off, wait a bit and turn it back on and it would work. But not this time. DH got me a new iPod nano for Christmas and it was having none of it. It just needed more juice and I was a long w... Tue, 10 Feb 2015 10:01:37 EST Back Pain http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5869640 This past weekend I somehow managed to hurt my back. I think it is just a pinched nerve or something. DH has been rubbing me down with Ben-Gay in the evening which has helped. So has sleeping on a heating pad for the past 2 nights. By the time I get to leave school for the day I am starting to feel the pain again so my walking has been off so far this month. Falling behind already on my step counts, but I really can't tolerate back pain. I can work through most pain (and I have!) but ba... Wed, 4 Feb 2015 20:53:42 EST Walking Home http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5864628 Worked the whole day today. Three times a year our school does something called the Star Reading test and I administer it for the whole middle school. It takes a lot of time and paper pushing to make sure every kid gets it done. Some more than once if their score drops significantly from the previous test. I don't mind it though. It takes me away from the usual day and gives me an opportunity for extra pay. Usually takes a week to do all three grade levels.

But I still walke... Wed, 28 Jan 2015 16:15:17 EST Depressed http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5862928 I had some difficulty being motivated this past weekend. I seem to get in a funk occasionally and just don't feel it, so I don't. I know it puts me behind and I have no one to blame but myself but how do so many people on Spark stay so upbeat every single day?

I walk like a fiend. I watch what I eat. I've been faithful to ETL for months now. But my weight does not budge. At all. I've been stuck at 201 consistantly for months. Am I depressed over it - yes. Will I give up -... Mon, 26 Jan 2015 11:48:39 EST 30 Degrees and Loving It http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5860358 It is 30 degrees today. Just cool enough that you can see your own breath but yet warm enough that my heavy gloves were too much. I switched them out for the lightweight pair that live in my cavernous pockets but after a bit even those had to come off. I was in the zone today on my walk home and loving every second. I love, LOVE! when the temp is just slightly cool as it is today. This is the temperature when it feels wonderful to be alive. When I come around the last bend and there sta... Thu, 22 Jan 2015 14:49:13 EST Another Snow Day and I Used It Wisely http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5859661 Snow day again today. Quite a surprise actually since it is exam week in the high school and RARELY do they call school during exam week. A 2-hour delay I could see but the whole day, a real head scratcher.

My initial plan was to workout a bit and then bury myself in a book. I've got quite a few waiting for me that I downloaded with some Christmas money. But instead I felt like cooking after my workout. Doesn't happen often, but I usually take full advantage when it does. Lot... Wed, 21 Jan 2015 16:18:44 EST Stuff http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5858587 I took a couple of days off last week to rest my heel. I felt guilty both days but I have to admit that my foot felt fantastic yesterday. So DH and I went on a trek, a long trek. By the time we had finished I needed to rest. Heck, partway thru I asked if we could just stand for a minute so I could catch my breath.

This morning it does twinge a bit. I have to walk home from school though so I will have to tough it out. DD has class today so she has my car. This will be my l... Tue, 20 Jan 2015 09:48:39 EST BBC Shows http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5854939 I have discovered a couple of BBC murder mystery shows. "DCI Banks" and "Case Histories." Our library owns Season 1 of DCI Banks but not the next 2 seasons. They also own both seasons of Case Histories. I watched the first season of DCI Banks a couple of weeks ago and really liked it. Haven't seen Stephen Tomkinson since his days on Ballykissangel years ago. He is still brooding but makes a nice chief detective. Very believable part and I will probably get the next season from interlib... Thu, 15 Jan 2015 09:45:34 EST Canned Soup is Bad http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5849684 I made a resolution to track my food again in hopes of seeing why I have been stuck on this plateau for so long. It has been an eye opener already.

By the time I get home in the afternoon I am very, very hungry. I haven't eaten anything since 6AM and I usually don't get home until 2PM or later depending on how long it takes to walk. Lately I have been eating canned soup. It is quick and filling. But every day my sodium count is out of this world. Well duh. Canned soup is ful... Thu, 8 Jan 2015 17:53:56 EST New Year, New Me? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5843092 I've been thinking about my new year resolutions for over a week now and this is what I've come up with.

In 2015 I am going to -

1) Walk an average of 15,000 steps per day.
I have been trying to increase the amount I walk each month. My greatest achievement was 600,000 in December, but I really had to push myself every single day to make that goal. It was hard since it did not allow any rest days. I had a foot injury and I still had to walk or make up the lost... Thu, 1 Jan 2015 17:32:18 EST I Made It! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5842559 601,902 was my total for December.

O-M-G I actually made it. Even on the last day I was still doubting myself. I just wanted to sit and relax but I needed those last 12,000 steps to make goal. So I pulled up my big girl panties and hit the mini-tramp. I have discovered that I don't have to watch a movie to keep going, I can listen to a book too, I just need something to occupy my brain while I'm stepping along. I finished Jan Karon's "Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good" a Mit... Thu, 1 Jan 2015 08:27:55 EST Long Cold Day Walking http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5841527 Brrrr. Today was incredibly cold due to the wind. I think I've written how much I dislike wind when I walk. A breeze on a warm day - very nice. But wind changes everything. Today was only 20 degrees. Tolerable normally but on a windy day it is not. I could only walk one lap, less than 2 miles before getting back in my car and leaving the park. I was the only person to even attempt today. I should have tried for two because it meant that I would have to walk even longer on my mini-tra... Tue, 30 Dec 2014 20:50:15 EST It Is Doable! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5840073 I belong to the 10,000 Steps group here on SP. I am not, by far, one of the leading walkers. But I sure do give it my all each month. My biggest total steps for a month was 516,567 last March. 31 days it took and looking back over my spreadsheet there are a lot of under 10,000 step days. For December I officially said I would walk 480,000 steps but really my goal has always been 600,000 steps. Pretty lofty goal. But I've been getting up early every day and walking for a half hour befor... Sun, 28 Dec 2014 18:55:57 EST Foot Update http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5839546 I have rested my foot for 3 days now. It feels much better and I am planning on a short walk tomorrow morning. Did some stepping on my mini-tramp today and it was fine. Even putting on the shoes didn't hurt as much as before so it must be healing. I will still take it easy as I don't want a repeat of the pain I was experiencing. Sat, 27 Dec 2014 21:11:13 EST All Dogs Should Be on Leashes! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5838515 Tuesday I took my friend R's elderly parents dog, Casey, for a walk in town. He is getting much better behaving on a leash. Sticks to my side and only occasionally barks at other dogs. But Wednesday, what a day. We are doing the big loop, I'm listening to a book when across the road (a busy road) comes a little dog. Fortunately for him his owner managed to grab him before it got hit. Didn't grab the other dog that was also loose and it was on it's way across instead. But no, two houses... Thu, 25 Dec 2014 21:18:03 EST Smaller Jeans - Almost http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5837002 My daughters and I drove to Ann Arbor today for our annual dental appointments. While we were there I wanted to stop by Briarwood Mall to poke around. It was a slow day (except at Williams & Sonoma - yikes!). I bought some new under eye cream which really seems to mask my huge under eye bags (finally one that works!). I also tried on a size 14 jean since my 16's are a bit loose now. Got them on but couldn't zip them. But I know I am headed in that direction and it makes me feel good. I... Mon, 22 Dec 2014 21:23:18 EST And we did it! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5836374 21,414 steps is twice around. 2-1/2 hours of constant walking (well except the two times I needed to stop to use a restroom). The last mile was the worst. We were both tired and dragging but we made it. I took a hot shower as soon as we got home which helped energize me. Not enough to go out walking again but it sure made me feel better. Had a nice lunch and now I'm doing my Spark thing and sitting in a chair. It is amazing how good it feels to sit after such a long walk 224... Sun, 21 Dec 2014 14:03:46 EST I Am Ready http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5836017 Today DH and I walked the new longer trail today. I have walked it twice before on my own and I like it. One lap is 12,000 steps for me and very interesting. Tomorrow he wants to attempt doing it twice. Twice! I am not sure how it will go. It was cold and slick today from the freeze last night. Tomorrow promises to be warmer but I want to start earlier in the day because it will take a very long time. I am ready to try this. I am ready! Sat, 20 Dec 2014 19:50:11 EST Walking to Clear My Head http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5833522 The county added a new wide trail in the park where I walk. 12 feet wide and set like a sidewalk thru people's front yards. But it is a marvel. Now we can go further. One lap on the new expanded trail is like 1-1/2 laps on the old one. Fabulous. DH and I walked two of the longer laps Sunday. Now that is a workout! DH kept up and only had trouble with his foot near the end. We love it. Lots of people walking and enjoying. Took most of the summer but well worth the wait. Wonder what... Mon, 15 Dec 2014 17:44:56 EST Date Night http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5832562 Great weekend so far. Last evening I needed 6,000 steps to reach my daily goal. It was 7 at night, dark out, but DH suggested we go to the park and do a couple laps. Yep in the dark. We took along a couple of flashlights for safety.

It was wonderful. No wind. The flashlights provided just enough light. Only one other walker. We parked at the nearby Wendy's (lighted parking lot) and put in 2 laps. It was really fun and he has promised to do it again next Friday too. Kind o... Sat, 13 Dec 2014 21:19:24 EST I Love Walking http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5829839 5,568,551

I keep a spreadsheet of my daily steps which I update weekly. Mostly I did it just to make sure I was getting in 'enough' steps to make my monthly goal. I have average step count, a monthly total, how many steps until I reach my goal, my average needed to reach goal, stuff like that. I could see my rest days at a glance because they were always under 10,000. Last winter, when I walked home every day from school but drove on Fridays I can see those Fridays instantly. ... Mon, 8 Dec 2014 18:32:26 EST Wednesday stuff http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5827148 Today's movie was The Full Monty. What can I say about this movie? It is one of my favorites and I watch it at least once a year. I absolutely LOVE the music in this movie. I have the soundtrack loaded on my iPod. My daughters make fun of me when I play it in the car (they also do when I play some old Prince music). It makes me feel young and happy. What's not to love.

I'm really getting into the morning workout. Today I had to fill in for the building secretary for the mor... Wed, 3 Dec 2014 20:01:00 EST War Horse http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5826545 Today's movie was "War Horse". I really liked this movie. Kind of a 'boy and his dog' type of movie only it was a boy and his horse and how he kept searching, and even went to fight in a war, in search of his horse (who had been sold to the army by his father). There were some incredible scenes during the movie that really moved me. The boy riding his horse so fast that they passed a car. The horse, literally running for it's life on the front line during WWI and getting tangled up in so... Tue, 2 Dec 2014 17:57:26 EST 7 Day Streak (and counting) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5825693 Completed one full week of rising early to exercise. I have to admit that it has been wonderful. I don't even mind getting up early to get in those steps. I am raring to go by the time I get done. Showering and eating breakfast take no time and I am relaxed by the time I leave for work. I arrive and I already have 4,000 steps on my FitBit which makes me very happy. Shooting for 15,000 each day and I'm well on my way there before 8AM!

Thanksgiving 4-day weekend went well. Had... Mon, 1 Dec 2014 09:48:51 EST Day 3 Was a Wonderful Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5823474 Day 3. I am loving getting up early and exercising. It puts me in such a good mood and I am happy (happy!) when I get to work. Today was only a half day for students. Which means only 2 hours for me. 2 hours! I was especially excited. I got off before 10AM. Woo-hoo! Went home, changed my shoes, and went over to pick up the dog. We had a wonderful walk in the park. We were the only ones there at the time. A slight snow but the weather was delightful. I could have walked all day. <... Wed, 26 Nov 2014 18:56:14 EST Day 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5822956 Today I was suffering from a migraine. Haven't had one of those in years and it put me down. Down for the count. Took a nap and then felt better. But I missed my opportunity to walk the dog so I headed downstairs to get some steps in on my mini tramp.

Today's movie was "Sparkling Cyanide" with Colin Firth's little brother Jonathan Firth. I actually thought he was the young man who played James Nesbitt's son Nick Monroe in the short-lived series "Monroe," which I dearly loved. ... Tue, 25 Nov 2014 18:57:43 EST Start of a New Streak. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5822408 After having such an awful week last week I have decided that I need to up my game. Starting this morning I got out of bed a half hour early to do some walking on my mini-tramp in the basement. 30 minutes walking in my pj's and I started my day with almost 4,000 steps before breakfast. That's what I'm talking about! Told DH to wake me tomorrow too. I'd like to make it a new habit. I have found that I get in more steps and feel better if I do two walks per day. On the weekend DH and I w... Mon, 24 Nov 2014 19:00:42 EST National Fish Day? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5821641 Yesterday DD asked why we don't have a holiday centered around eating fish. Good question. We have turkey on Thanksgiving, duck/goose on Christmas, ham on Easter. Why don't we have some kind of holiday with fish? I bet the first settlers/explorers to arrive here ate fish. Probably ate lots of fish until they realized what other meat sources there were available (deer, elk, etc). So she and I talked about it a bit and I told her to pick a day and we would name it something and that would... Sun, 23 Nov 2014 13:04:42 EST Tough Week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5821257 This week has been tough for me. I don't recall being so depressed over winter before and not wanting to do anything. But all this week I have struggled with walking and wanting to exercise at all.

Today it finally got above freezing. It was wonderful. 44 outside and I went for 2 wonderful walks and really got to clear my head. That is exactly what I needed to do. I feel so much better and I'm already looking forward to tomorrow's walk(s). Now I just need to maintain that fe... The bitter cold (it's only mid-November for goodness sake!), the blowing wind, the snow. Excuses, excuses. But it is dragging me down. I don't want to do anything but sit in a recliner and nap. I'm doing a FitBit Weekly Challenge and I'm failing miserably. Usually I go into these challenges great-guns. But this ... Wed, 19 Nov 2014 19:23:33 EST Updates http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5817804 So far no movement on our house. It's a little disheartening but DH doesn't want to move in the winter so I guess it's ok. We recently replaced the front storm door to something nicer. And now we are discussing updating the master bath. New counter, double bowls, wall scones, a little tile. I think it will look very nice. It is long overdue. Doesn't mean we still won't be selling, no we definately will be. But it may make it more desirable (those double bowls) to the next owner.
... Sun, 16 Nov 2014 14:45:37 EST Movie Night http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5815762 Got my stitches out today (finally). My arms feel much better. The scars look impressive (red) but should heal up pretty quickly. I feel good.

Had quite a bit of time to kill after my visit to the Doctors office and before meeting R for a movie (Intersteller). Called older DD and she met me at the park and walked 3 laps with me. I think that is the longest she has ever walked with me. I feel so much better since I didn't get in my 10,000 steps yesterday. I always feel kinda ... Wed, 12 Nov 2014 20:49:56 EST Thank Goodness for Friends http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5814468 This past weekend I managed to walk over 25,000 steps both days. It felt really awesome to do this and I think this is something I would like to strive for each weekend for the rest of 2014. I know I can do it!

This morning was a little difficult for me. It is a Monday so I kinda know why but I was expecting to feel so blah after such a successful fitness weekend. But the kids were really bugging me today (I had a couple of argumentative kids and I really dislike that). When I... Mon, 10 Nov 2014 20:40:45 EST Ahhhh, Nothing Like a Walk (or Two) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5813237 Twice I went walking today. And twice I got caught in the rain. Didn't melt (much LOL) either time and actually enjoyed both my walks. Got almost 25,000 steps in because of it and I feel FABULOUS! There is nothing, and I mean nothing, like a walk outside. It really calms me and keeps me focused.

Older DD has been having trouble with panic attacks for the past few months. Not sure what brought them on but I have suggested, on numerous occasions, that she needs to exercise a bi... Sat, 8 Nov 2014 19:09:01 EST How Gloom Became Fun http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5812154 It was another gloomy day today, but today I decided to conquer my aversion to walking in the rain. It was more of a misty drizzle and actually pretty nice to walk in. I was the only person over at the park but that was nice too. I finished my audiobook (Hamish Macbeth and The Death of a Macho Man). All-in-all a really wonderful walk. Thu, 6 Nov 2014 19:11:50 EST Random Thoughts on a Gloomy Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5810809 It is a gloomy day. DH hasn't set up my mini-tramp yet for winter and I've only gotten in 6,700 steps so far today. One of my FitBit buddies asked me to join him to a week-long challenge and I accepted. You would think it would really motivate a person no matter what but walking in the rain is one of my least favorite things to do. Wind, snow, heat; those are okay but rain. Ugh. You get wet and drippy. The leaves are wet and slippery. Just not a good time. But I will attempt to get i... Tue, 4 Nov 2014 16:34:24 EST Rested http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5808344 Because I've been doing extra steps all month to meet my new, higher goal I discovered on Wednesday that I only needed to do 4,000 steps for the last 3 days to get there. And since I have been getting a little burned out I decided to just take a break. So I did not go on any walks except what I accomplished during my normal day. I haven't taken a day off in 491 days (my current log-in streak). I was going to walk today but it was pouring rain this morning, then turned to blowing snow. An... Fri, 31 Oct 2014 20:38:01 EST This Plateau - Part 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5805440 R and I got in a lot of walking this weekend. She is getting faster and keeps up now. She commented to me about her weight - she has been losing since joining me on the walks - and is very pleased. I was kidding her about her extremely baggy pants one day and she admitted that she knows she needs new pants but is afraid to buy them because she always puts the weight back on. Then we talked about making the exercise a daily thing. I never dreamed that I would be talking to someone else ab... Mon, 27 Oct 2014 06:04:52 EST A Creature of Habit http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5803451 Yep, that's me. I put things away 'where they belong' so that I can find them again. Usually. Today I discovered my purse not in it's usual spot. Actually, I couldn't find it at all and I panicked. Looked around the house and then I remembered that I had driven my DH's car yesterday and it doesn't have any hiding places for my purse when I am walking so I stashed it under the passenger seat. And then promptly forgot about it. Out of sight - out of mind. So I phoned DH and asked him if... Thu, 23 Oct 2014 14:08:31 EST Christmas Shopping (?) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5802943 Did some Christmas shopping with older DD today. Snuck out of work early and we met up and then drove to Eaton Rapids. I had remembered a small table that younger DD had liked and wanted to get it for her before the weather turned bad. We had a great time, the table fit in the trunk of the car perfectly and is now hiding out in older DD's house awaiting the holidays.

Friday this week I will be filling in for the building secretary all day. I don't really care to work a full day... Wed, 22 Oct 2014 18:05:59 EST Good Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5800964 My friend, R, is down visiting her parents again. When she visits I get in twice as many walks. This morning she phoned early (8AM) and wanted to go out. Hot dog! I threw on my clothes and off we went. But it turns out she needed to walk because she and her DH were moving furniture for her parents. Her dad needs to move downstairs now. Still a good walk. But I really needed more than just a couple of laps so I went back home and talked my own DH into walking with me. Off I went for a... Sun, 19 Oct 2014 15:58:36 EST Family Stuff http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5799845 My BIL is in the hospital and I will probably visit him this evening. He has been there a couple of days. He and my sister are both 70. Not old by any means. But to look at them, talk with them, you would think they are ancient. It turns out they are both also diabetic and do nothing (nothing!) to change their ways. No exercise, no change in their diet. Nothing. It makes me angry (you can probably tell) that they have chosen to do nothing and then expect sympathy/help from the rest of... Fri, 17 Oct 2014 12:33:17 EST The Search for Tan Slacks http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5797586 This past weekend I drove to Ann Arbor in search of a new pair of tan slacks. Last week I got rid of a very expensive pair that I just hated. Turns out I may have acted in haste.

Tan slacks, it seems, are only to be worn by people who are Size 12 or less. I went into 6 stores and it was the same in them all. Us 'chubbies' can only wear black, maybe blue; but definately not tan. Macy's had a pair of oddly colored brown jeans that I considered ever so briefly. But I want tan, n... Mon, 13 Oct 2014 17:53:50 EST Stuff Again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5796990 This morning I awoke with a killer headache. Took a couple of asprins but it just didn't cut it. I was nauseous and the pain was centralized over one eye. DH told me I had a sinus headache. But I was needing my morning walk so off I went. 5 miles later my head felt much, much better. Stomach had settled down and my day was off to a great start.

Couple of days ago I wrote about eating Pop Tarts. Ick. I have discovered that I am happiest when I stick strictly to my ETL diet a... Sun, 12 Oct 2014 18:54:20 EST How Do American's Eat This Crap? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5794869 This morning I overslept so I was hurrying around. I always eat breakfast before going but today there was nothing. I had a small amount of salad which I wanted to save for lunch and only 1 serving of my bean stuff to put on my salad. But breakfast - what to eat? Then I spied DD's pop tarts, so I ate one. OMG how can kids eat these things! We serve them to the kids at school for breakfast. So sweet, so sugary, so not healthy. I wanted something else but ran out of time. My lunch, how... Wed, 8 Oct 2014 20:27:19 EST More Ramblings http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5792916 My friend R is in town again at her parents. She tells me the funniest stories about her parents when we go walking. But her father is not doing well and her sister has left everything pretty much up to R and her DH. It is frustrating for her but she knows I am there for her to talk with. This time she is staying almost a full week. Tomorrow we are going to the movies, something neither of us do very often. Her plan is to drop off her car for some repair work and we will walk to the the... Sun, 5 Oct 2014 17:49:04 EST New Trip Info http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5792418 Today was only 43 degrees. Cool, windy autumn day. It was lovely. Walked in the early morning with DH and then again in the afternoon with my friend R and her dogs. Lots of steps today and it makes me happy. She also gave me a newspaper clipping about a bike excursion that she is interested in doing one day. In Quebec. I looked it up on the internet and it sounds pretty interesting. I guess you can take your bike with you on the train (didn't know that). I will have to investigate fu... Sat, 4 Oct 2014 19:44:36 EST Stuff http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5790675 The last couple of days I've had to work the entire day at school, usually I leave at 12:30, so staying until 3 is a very long day. But the one advantage is that I get in a lot more steps. Today I got 9,000 while I was at school so I didn't have to walk as long afterward in the park. That was good because we celebrated older DD birthday today with shrimp fajitas that younger DD made for dinner. They are very good - tortilla, marinated shrimp, cooked onions and green peppers, chopped jalap... Wed, 1 Oct 2014 20:34:39 EST
