This is the longest that I have stuck with sparkspeople. I am still getting up at 5:30 every morning. Even this morning when I was not feeling the greatest, I still got up and ran this morning. I have exercised for more than 90 minutes for at least 17 weeks. I am proud of myself for sticking with this lifestyle change for so long.

I am at 39 pounds lost so far. I am hoping that sometime in July that I will be at 250. I alm... Tue, 16 Jun 2015 12:04:56 EST still moving along http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5928544 Earlier this week, spent time at an out of town meeting. It is really hard to eat healthy when you have to eat out a lot. I tried to be healthy by eating fish when we were out. But that did not help on the money side of things. I also enjoyed working out at the hotel's workout room. It had some interesting ellipticals and they did their job. It was a great workout. Wish the gym had them here.

Picked back up running yesterday. I went after work and it was hot and humid. I was able ... Fri, 15 May 2015 09:36:19 EST I can do this http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5923007 The semester is almost over. Giving finals this week with graduation on Saturday. Thus freeing up a ton of time. I just have one class for next semester instead of three and plus I have all summer to plan for the fall! I am looking forward to just working one job and having more time in the evenings. This more time will allow me to focus on either doing piyo more consistently or doing strength training. I am doing good getting up in the morning to work out. I backed up the time I am getting u... Tue, 5 May 2015 11:00:16 EST Noticing more changes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5921028 So I wore a Maxi dress today. Normally my belly shows some. However, today, it was not as prevalent has it has been. I also pulled out a shirt that my MIL got me a few years ago. It is an XL and it actually fit. When she bought it for me, it did not.

I have enjoyed seeing this little things that are showing me my hard work is paying off!! Fri, 1 May 2015 22:09:34 EST 30 Pounds Down!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5918411 I have been working hard for the past 4 months. I started in December but hit the workouts and the eating healthier in January. The hard work is showing off. I am down 30 pounds. I do not know if anyone can notice or not outside my husband. But it is a good feeling to see my weight down 30 pounds. There are still more that need to come off. Hopefully I can continue this trend during the summer months. I joined a local gym to keep me motivated during these hot summers. Still working on that go... Mon, 27 Apr 2015 09:25:39 EST Its like having a new wardrobe http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5911088 So I was able to wear a shirt that I have not worn in a few years. It is like a have a whole new wardrobe. I wonder what else I have in my wardrobe that I can now wear. It is exciting to see all the hard work that I have been putting into losing weight has been paying off. Although the scale has not been moving much, I still better. I have changed up some workouts adding piyo. I have been using it as a strength exercises. I am giving piyo the credit for the scale not changing. I feel the inch... Tue, 14 Apr 2015 09:56:12 EST Moving along http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5909090 Last week was spent fulfilling my civic duty. In other words, I had jury duty. I tried to eat as healthy as I could that week. Found a great sandwich shop near the court house that I could walk to and then enjoyed lunch outside. I did not sleep much that week with trying to record lectures for my classes so we did not get behind. I did start exercising again on Good Friday :) However Monday I work up not feeling well so it took me a while to work out again. I took two days off. Now feeling be... Fri, 10 Apr 2015 21:28:07 EST Back after two days off http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5898482 My parent were in town this weekend so I did not get a lot of exercising in. I did go to the gym on friday morning. Spent 45 minutes on the elliptical. I was drenched when I got off. I am amazed at how many people are there but are not sweating and more focused on their phone then their workout. There was someone on facebook and chatting while she was walking on a treadmill. I am okay if you are reading or watching a movie but facebook is a distraction. At least it is for me while I am workin... Mon, 23 Mar 2015 23:04:19 EST Rest Day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5894511 Today is my normal rest day. It is built into my week. I am working from 8:30 to 9pm. I have an evening class that I am teaching on Tuesday on top of normal 8 hour job. I did not work out this morning, and I am missing it. I can feel that I did not work out :(

Everyone needs a rest day to let the body relax after working it so hard. Even tho Tuesdays are my naturally built in rest days from exercise it is not a rest day overall.

Tomorrow I am planning to go back to th... Tue, 17 Mar 2015 09:56:20 EST plugging along http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5893819 On a whim last week, I joined Anytime Fitness for 18 months. It was only 38 a month. I have been wanting to use some gym equipment like the stationary bikes and elliptical. One thing I like about anytime fitness is that I can go anytime I want :) The university where I teach has a gym but it is always closed when I want to go. So I got mad at them, and changed. Hence the on the whim anytime fitness membership. I have been enjoying going. On days that I am not running I will be hitting the gym... Mon, 16 Mar 2015 09:19:01 EST starting running again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5890445 I made the decision to start up again doing the C25K. I have not run since May 2013 right before we bought a house and moved. I started back up on Saturday. My run pace was not bad. In fact, my run pace was faster (not by much) from when I started back in January of 2013. My average pace for W1D1 in January 2013 was 16:33 and this past Saturday it was 16:26. I did not run Sunday or Monday due to the pouring down rain. I was able to run again today. I got up at 6 AM. It was hard but I did it. ... Tue, 10 Mar 2015 11:39:40 EST Eating healthy while traveling http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5886582 I am out of town for a work conference. I have been trying to eat healthy. It is so hard when they cater the the food and I have no choice. Also with every meal they serve a big slice of pie, cake, or cheese cake. I however have been getting up early and going to the hotel fitness room and working out. This hotel has one of the nicest fitness centers I have seen. Wed, 4 Mar 2015 00:01:52 EST need to change things up some http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5868655 This past weekend was tough especially with Super Bowl Sunday. I only had one plate and no seconds with a ton of water. I tried to be good, but not as good as I had hope to be. So I am being extra careful this week.

Today is my normal rest day. I have two this week instead of my normal one. I also rested Sunday. I have been enjoying the fitnessblender workouts, but it feels like I might need to add more to my workout than 20-30 minutes during the week. During the workouts, they d... Tue, 3 Feb 2015 12:38:24 EST Another 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5865426 I said good bye to another 2 pounds this last week. Makes me really excited. As I see my weight dropping, I see my blood pressure going down. I am close to normal but it still seems far away. I also am beginning to see other changes besides the scale. I am getting some definition in my arms and legs. I can fit in pants that I had not been able to fit in last month. That makes me excited.

I have not made the switch over to all healthy food. I am eating within my calorie limits and ... Thu, 29 Jan 2015 19:05:51 EST Sunday was a rest day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5862805 I usually make Tuesday my rest day because I am at work from 8 to 9pm. I still think it will be a great rest day. However, yesterday I rested. I was not feeling well and had no energy to do anything. So Sunday became my rest day. My goal is to get up tomorrow at 6 to do a 30 minute workout before starting my day.

I am also enjoying fitnessblender's workouts. They get me sweating and sore. I am glad that they make their videos available for free.

Not down any on the sca... Mon, 26 Jan 2015 09:16:15 EST moving along http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5860505 I weighed myself two days in a row and the scale said that I was down a total of 4 pounds this week. And it stayed down when I weighed myself a few days later. I was excited for that. I have been eating within all my ranges including salt. I have been really focusing on salt and making sure I stay under 2300 mg. I have also been doing fitness blender workouts. They burn a ton of calories in 20-30 minutes. This weekend I am going to try to do a 80 minute one. Will see how that goes.
<BR... Thu, 22 Jan 2015 19:31:21 EST Measuring + HRM = Success http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5858635 I have been using a HRM since January 2nd and it has been helping me track the calories I burned. I like having the exact calorie burned. Measuring my food also helps out. I even measure my peanut butter I put on my sandwiches. Measuring has help a lot. My portion estimation has been somewhat off.

Since the middle of December, I have lost about 10 pounds. I am excited to be down 10 pounds. I hope that I will be down another 10 pounds by this time next month. Looks like I have a go... Tue, 20 Jan 2015 10:44:31 EST Time to buckle down http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5854975 I have been trying Sparks on and off for a few years now. I have great success when I track and follow a regular workout routine. However, life got in the way and I would always quit.

Back around Christmas, my side of the family was talking about going to Hawaii for Christmas this year. That made me really want to jumpstart and work on losing weight again. Even though we are not going to go to Hawaii, I still would like to lose weight for Florida. I figured if I can lose about 8-1... Thu, 15 Jan 2015 10:27:57 EST Another week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5602301 Survived another week of trying to eat healthier and within a calorie range. Have not noticed too much on the scale changing but I am being concious of what I put in my mouth. I have been doing really good not drinking a soda or two a day. I did break down and have one on Monday. I just needed a pick me up. Monday was not a great day, but I did eat yummy food. I just need to exercise more. Right now we are in the process of doing some landscaping at our house. We put in a vegetable garden spo... Wed, 22 Jan 2014 12:10:02 EST 2 pounds gone http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5592257 I weighed myself this morning and I had dropped 2 pounds since last Wednesday. Yippee!!! The only thing is that on my tracker it says I have not. When I reset my account, I put in that I weighed 280 but I actually weighed more. I started with 286 instead of 280. Now I weigh 284. Every little pound less helps. I am so excited.

I am also so exhausted. I slept good last night. Did not wake up at all throughout the night. But right now I feel like I have not slept at all. I know I did... Mon, 13 Jan 2014 11:16:23 EST Doing okay so far http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5587168 This week has been flying by. I am so looking forward to the weekend. It is supposed to be nice. Maybe I will be able to get outside and do some work on the house or yard. It has been way to cold the last few days. I am ready for the 60 degree weather that they are calling for.

I have been eating healthier. Today I ate a lot of fruits with a half of a sandwich and no bag of chips. I have been feeling hungry all afternoon. I have already added by dinner in so I know I am right were... Wed, 8 Jan 2014 17:36:36 EST Starting over http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5584656 I was doing soo good - eating healthier, losing the weight, running more and working toward that goal of running a 5K. All that went downhill when we bought a house and moved. I know it sounds like a silly excuse, but that is the truth. Moving messed up with eating healthier because for a long time we did not have a kitchen. Took 3 months to have kitchen with cabinets and working stove, 4 months to have a kitchen sink. So we did a lot of eating out and prepackaged food. Quit the exercising wh... Mon, 6 Jan 2014 17:42:31 EST March 18th http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5290983 This weekend and past week was not horribly bad. It was actually a good week. Last week, took a break from running and switched up my exercises some. I did The Biggest Loser Boot camp in the morning and Weight Loss Yoga in the afternoon. One day I switched up and did The Biggest Loser Cardio Max. That was definately a work out. This also helped me when I picked running back up today. I did W5D1 again today. The last time I did this same say was March 7th and I was about the same level as toda... Mon, 18 Mar 2013 11:23:32 EST Workout DVD Review #2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5284057 So the last time, I reviewed The Biggest Loser Last Chance workout. I kept at if for about a week, but it never really challanged me. I did it about a week. Probably will go back to it on light days. Plus, I wanted to try out the other DVDs I had bought.

Last night, I tried The Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga. I only did week 1 and Bob was the leader. I enjoyed his commentary and his interaction the contestants. He goes slow explaining what you need to be doing and gives great enco... Tue, 12 Mar 2013 14:18:29 EST Workout DVD Review #1 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5274225 I bought a bunch of workout DVDs last week. I have decided to review them.

The first one that I have tried is The Biggest Loser - Last Chance Workout. It was okay. Jillian Micheal is the instructor. However, she does not do any leading. She just talks and walks around the room. They use people from the show the biggest loser. However, they are not in sync which makes it hard to follow. Also, there is no instructions on how to do the exercises. I do like the idea of 30 second inter... Tue, 5 Mar 2013 11:32:45 EST start of another week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5272581 Last week, I had not lost any weight, so I decided to change things up a bit this week. Over the weekend, I went out and bought a digital scale. It is nice to be accurate in weighing food especially when it comes to meat. 1 oz was a lot more than what I expected. I think I might have been over estimating my meat consumption. But sometimes, that might not be a bad thing. I also bought a bunch of the Biggest Loser workout DVDs. I started a pilates one last week. It was not too horrible bad. I w... Mon, 4 Mar 2013 11:15:04 EST Another week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5251746 I officially hit the 30 pounds lost this week. It feels so great to be 30 pounds lighter and moving down in pounds and out of my now to big clothes. It is a good thing that I never got rid of any of my clothes that did not fit. They are beginning to fit again. I am so happy. The weight it coming off a little slowly, but I set it to lose 1-2 pounds a week. I find that the biggest loss is over the weekends. I have not figured out why yet, but that is how my body works. 20 more pounds then I am ... Granted it was a slow pace. But I am so happy to be able to run a mile. I did run the mile after I did 30 intense minutes on the stationary bike. I am going to continue to check to see how many miles I can run every so often in addition to running with the Couch to 5K. It means that I don't have to go to work and I can relax some. We almost had a house; however, the owner did not like our offer. She should be lucky to have received an offer because the house is falling down around her. We put an low offer in and she refused it because it was less than what she paid for the house. However, she did not buy the house in its present condition. The house needs 20-30,000 worth of work put into it. That is... Wed, 6 Feb 2013 11:29:34 EST Another week... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5237048 This weekend was not too bad. Saturday did a lot of packing and moving boxes. Usually when I am home alone, I usually just sit and watch TV and snack. So this past Saturday was great in that I did not snack nor sit around. So just having that movement helped a lot. I was more worried about Super Bowl Sunday. I like Super Bowl parties. I did snack a bit during the first half but nothing during the second half which was great. I was able to limit myself in eating. Soda was a different story. H... Mon, 4 Feb 2013 11:41:39 EST running with a cold = no fun http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5230074 So this week, I am repeating week 2 of C25K. Repeating does help me. I think I will be ready for week 3 come monday. I cannot wait to see how well I can do that week. This morning was a little rough due to not being able to breath through my nose. Head colds are no fun at all. I did stick with it. Ran/walk the first mile in 16:03 and the the second mile in 15:25. So in 36 minutes, I ran/walk 2.2 miles. I like the sound of that. I just need to slowly add in that 3rd mile which I will be able ... Wed, 30 Jan 2013 10:47:33 EST First Goal http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5221810 A few months ago, I posted a list of weight goals and my rewards for reaching those goals. Well, I reached my first one last week - weigh 275. My reward - trip to Seattle to see to amazing friends. The trip was planned in December, but it was nice to reach that weight goal before leaving for Seattle. I also did really good with eating and not really drinking any sodas. I did drink one on the airplane. I had a blast in Seattle. I thought I would have a hard time getting back into the swing of ... Thu, 24 Jan 2013 14:53:19 EST C25K W2D1 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5218629 So I did the first day of week 2 this morning. It was a little bit of a challange. The first few times of running was not so bad. It was the last three times running that I was going really slow with. I think repeating the weeks is definately helpful. I think Thursdays for sure will be gym days. I might even add Tuesday in also. Ran today because I was flying yesterday. I think I am going try to get myself into a constant routine. My college roommate has been encouraging my running. She star... Tue, 22 Jan 2013 12:45:25 EST The Biggest Loser http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5208672 Over the weekend, my husband was flipping through the channels and stopped at the weigh in portion of the Biggest Loser. Everyone was losing 10-15 pounds for that week. Sometimes I wish I could lose weight like that, but I know that is not exactly the healthiest way to go about it. Also, in real life, no one can work and exercise as much as they do on the show. Sometimes I wish I could just excerise and not work any. I wonder how much weight I would lose going about it that way. I think they ... Tue, 15 Jan 2013 16:05:04 EST Week 2 of running http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5206930 I felt better running today than I have before. Decided to do another day of week 1 on the Couch to 5K. I think that was a good decision and I think I might just do it again all week and start week 2 next week. Since I have started running, I have dropped 3 pounds. I like seeing the lower number, but I also enjoy the pants fitting a little looser. I pulled out a pair of pants that I have not been able to wear in a few years. I almost can fit in them again. I am so happy for that. I have to ke... Mon, 14 Jan 2013 15:06:54 EST C25 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5198546 I was able to complete the second day of it. I think that I might repeat week 1 again next week. It will be nice to not have to, but being that I am so out of shape that repeating weeks will help. However, I am having problems trying to figure out how to enter it into my tracker. IF I was outside, the GPS would work and tell me how fast I was and all that good stuff. However, since it is has been raining, I have been on the indoor track and the GPS does not work :(

I cannot wait t... Wed, 9 Jan 2013 10:23:06 EST Running..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5195064 I just picked up the C5K again. I am doing it with a friend this time. Hopefully I can continue it this time. Last time, I had a knee injury in which I stopped and never got back into it. Now with a friend, I have some accountability. Even though we have to different work out goals, it is nice to have someone to work/run with. We might be completing a few of the weeks more than once. It was not too bad this morning. The GPS did not work inside the gym so we did not get an accurate measurement... Mon, 7 Jan 2013 13:13:27 EST Fall http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5127571 I enjoy fall because of the cooler temperatures. It is so nice getting up at 6 and go for a walk while the temperature is 50 instead of 80+. I have been walking about 1.5 miles each morning this week. I don't take it slow. I walk fast. I figured the faster I walk the better. Plus I want to get back into running. I figured this would help.

Another thing I enjoy about fall is all the drinks. Apple cider, pumpkin spice latte, peppermint mochas, hot chocolate. I have been doing good o... Wed, 7 Nov 2012 17:09:35 EST Salt http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5121587 I am constantly going over my salt intake. I have cut out all prepackaged food, but somehow there is salt hiding in everything I eat. However, it is not like I am doubling my salt intake. The max I have gone over the 2300 is by 1000 and that was when we ate out. I don't add any salt to my food. I guess I need to continue looking for low salt foods. A few times during the week, I do eat lunch meat which as a lot of salt. But it is so crazy how much salt is in food even in foods that I would no... Fri, 2 Nov 2012 14:39:40 EST Back on Track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5118123 I started really focusing on what I am eating. It does get a little annoying tracking every little thing. But I know when I don't, I eat when I am bored or sitting at the computer. I also started walking again. I also have been looking at SP videos and found a few that I can do while sitting at my desk. Instead of using weights I used full water bottles since that is what I have laying around. I cannot wait to try other videos. Tue, 30 Oct 2012 16:06:43 EST Backsliding http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5109698 I was doing so good at keeping up with everything and exercising. But lately I have had no motivation. I think my lack of motivation is from not sleeping at night. I do not know what is keeping me up at night, but getting in 8 hours of sleep has been really hard. I try to get up early in the mornings to work out, but I convince myself to turn my alarm off and go back to sleep. I don't have time to when I get off work with house cleaning and preparing dinner. Plus, I have noticed that when I w... Tue, 23 Oct 2012 10:03:17 EST Last week was crazy http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5091096 So last week, I hardly did any traking and eating healthy. The week was out of my control. My husband's grandfather died on Sunday. So we made a crazy trip to Montana for the week. I tried so hard to keep up with everything, but with no internet at the farm, it was hard to update. I did give in to a few sodas here and there, but not a whole lot. I limited my portions and watched what I ate. However, I could not really get any exercise in. One afternoon, I worked on the farm trying to set up a... Mon, 8 Oct 2012 10:18:07 EST Day 18/weight goal/incentives http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5077083 So I thought I would come up with some incentives/goals for reaching certain weight goals. For now I am looking at the big picture. I might do some smaller incentives/goals, but for now, I went every 25 pounds.

275 -
250 - start running again
225 - run a 5K
200 - Take a vacation to Disney World
175 - run a half marathon
150 - Buy a bikini and go to the beach

Sometimes I wish that weight was easy coming off like it was to put it one. Working a d... Thu, 27 Sep 2012 12:24:26 EST Almost two weeks http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5072826 I have been doing so good at making healthy choices, that I took Sunday as a day to relax just a bit. We went out to lunch at Pizza Hut yesterday. Pizza is one of my favorite foods and it felt good to eat pizza again. I did not over eat, but pizza does have a lot of calories and fat. I did make up for it with having a salad with dinner. That helped to eat not a whole lot of pizza. Pizza just does not taste right when its all healthy. So It was a good reward to myself.

So when I we... Mon, 24 Sep 2012 11:31:00 EST Half way through week 2/Wii workouts http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5066616 I am halfway through week 2. Everything is getting easier. I do not grave that sugary soda like I used to. So I am happy for that! However, I cannot drink 64 oz of water a day. I usually drink before 40-50 oz. So I am still working on that.

I brought my Wii board back out yesterday. Normally I don't do Wii fit because after a lot of repetition, the exercises/activities get old and there is no challange. So I gave it up a year ago, but I pulled it back out yesterday for the yoga an... Wed, 19 Sep 2012 15:57:25 EST work http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5065144 Work has been so slow today which makes me a little bored. I know that they have some healthy alternatives, but after working there as a manger during grad school, I would rather stay away from there. Also, with the new menus with all the calories information it is ver... Mon, 17 Sep 2012 10:15:22 EST Week 1 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5058999 So I decided to start another weight loss journey. I tried last year. I did really well and was running/walking almost every day until I hurt my knee. I hurt it to the point in which I could not even walk. So I gave up. By the time my knee was better, I had way too much going on and I just put it to the side. Well now, I would like to lose 100 pounds by Jan 1, 2014. I would like to lose more, but that will do for now.

I have been drinking nothing but water this week, and quite fra... Fri, 14 Sep 2012 11:31:24 EST
