Many of you know I became very ill a year ago this month.

I began to have severe vertigo spells, headaches, and painful neck aches. I went on a FMLA, the school fired me which was within their right as they have less than 25 employees. I was kicked off disability and went on unemployment even though I was too ill to work.

Recently I have released my western medicine doctors. High technology didn't find a cure but did find that I have... Sun, 14 Oct 2012 11:06:03 EST Mutual Forbearance and the Christmas Present http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3851714
Strange Fruit, the name I gave our last argument, for the want of a Christmas rose. One of us wants it the other one doesn’t. So sad, someone discovered that Santa Claus wasn’t real. But hope lives in the heart of the one who cries, “Be born in us, be born in our world!”

So much rage against rituals, the endless traditions, evil material trappings that also trap the heart and mind.

“Oh you petty things, no one believes in this pagan crap! This is all abo... Sun, 19 Dec 2010 03:22:39 EST Funny Feeling http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3397318 Yesterday I rejected a family party, an invitation to get together with friends and I just wanted to be alone. I had a real hard time over the past 9 months and I'm about to take my mom on a journey to meet relatives we never knew we had. My grandmother left her wealthy family at age 20. She ran off with the hired man, my grandfather, who gave her 6 children. Grandma was fond of saying "You made your bed, now lie in it." My grandfather abused his children terribly and a family pattern took ho... I've wanted to follow a vision, a spark so to speak, related to farm-based education.

As a Waldorf class teacher I had been teaching the same class for 5 years. It is the tradition for Waldorf teachers to take a class of children from 1st grade through to the 8th grade. It requires an amazing amount of imagination, commitment, strength and patience. And love, don't forget the lov... Sun, 2 May 2010 09:50:57 EST Farm Work: Healing, Vision and Imagination http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2791505 Farm work is the newest 'old' exercise in the world. My Hobby Farm, Llama Lovers, Catholic Critters, and animal loving friends know that I'm in a transition from living and teaching in the city to developing a Farm-Based Education program on my rural farm.

I struggle with trying to be in two places at once, but I can also tell you this, I'm truly learning the difference between living a rural life and a city one. As a grade school teacher I have opportunities to be on the farm for... Sun, 24 Jan 2010 21:29:45 EST Fear of Flying http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2651775 From the first time I took a flight which was while I was still in my late teens, I've never enjoyed the experience. I believe I would enjoy a small plane, an ultralight or maybe even hand gliding. I think I could even get motivated for a skydiving experience but travelling on a big jet with my body mashed between a compartmentalized, pressurized cabin and another passenger, even someone I love is just... well too confining. I guess I have a bit of claustrophobia about the whole thing.
... Raking, hauling, carrying, lifting, climbing, walking, pushing, digging, shoveling etc. etc. I've had numerous injuries all along, from stepping onto a rusty nail, (Crocs are not farm shoes) and then yesterday, I climbed up to the top of the small barn loft to retrieve the number of unauthorized eggs), then crash!

My weight went through one rung and consequently crashed through ... Mon, 14 Dec 2009 07:53:20 EST Advent Time http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2611918 It's advent time and for me that means a time of reflection. Rudolf Steiner says that at this time of the year, the Earth wakes up. The plants, the animals go to sleep in essence. But human beings have a chance to awaken in our consciousness. This is a time where the cosmic forces, angelic beings, come close to the earth and this is a time for us to think about what we need to be on earth at this time. For me, I know I need some rest. I need restoration in my thinking, willing and doing. I ne... Sat, 5 Dec 2009 11:05:10 EST Energy, Satisfaction, A Singing Heart http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2252393 What gives you lasting satisfaction?
Lasting satisfaction is a sense of completing my work to the best of my ability. I also experience lasting satisfaction from accomplishing my goals. When I set out to do something and I actually do it I am satisfied with myself. Satisfaction that outlasts everything is to be able to try to do something hard like pulling weeds, raking the yard, cleaning the hen house, cleaning the whole house well or, to play a new instrument or learn how to do some... Thu, 23 Jul 2009 07:57:30 EST 1st time taking lambs to slaughter http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2252373 Hello fellow shepherds,
I've started my life as a shepherd with bummer lambs. A nearby shepherd had several orphaned lambs as they were all born at once to about 20 ewes and it was January in Wisconsin, really cold and there were twins, and single babies all coming out at once. She had quite a few bummers. I had been wanting to bottle feed lambs as I was sure this would be a beautiful way to being a small flock. Those sweet lambs, Pendleton and Iris grew into the sweetest lambs that jump... Thu, 23 Jul 2009 07:50:00 EST
