So, I probably need to start where I left off.

I saw the surgeon on 11/4/14 but it was a new surgeon at Duke because my original one left for some reason. I weighed in and had gained 6lbs since my last visit. In my year since surgery, I was only down 44lbs since surgery.. Which was very disappointing considering everything I had been doing.

He also basically had no answer on my I haven't lost weight but set me up with a thyroid doctor to have that checked and then in Jan... Sun, 25 Jan 2015 09:33:53 EST A Year Since Weightloss Surgery So, I stopped coming on Sparkpeople for a long time. I didn't feel like it was helping me at all, and I didn't to be honest miss it much.

I lost about 60lbs since surgery but most of it was initially right after surgery. I've been doing everything as I should with the occasional cheat day. I exercise, I eat protein and what I'm supposed to do.

I ran a half marathon in April - the Rock N Roll in Raleigh. I'm running one in a week, City of Oaks Half Marathon. I've ran this... Sun, 26 Oct 2014 11:58:08 EST March... So, February was the worst month I've had since surgery. I barely lost any weight last month and it makes me ill. I see all those in my online support group losing and it makes me angry.

I made it to my gym a few times each week. I need to be running because my half marathon is in 6 weeks. I wish I could get into it again and stay on it. But I feel if my weight was less, I'd enjoy it so much more.

-sigh- I'm hoping for a better month. Sun, 2 Mar 2014 16:51:49 EST 3 Month Update.. I meant to update my blog the other night but I completely forgot to.

Feburary 6 made three months since I had my gastric sleeve surgery. Things are a good bit easier now than they were a while ago, but I still have my issues.

To date - on my count I have lost almost 43lbs since the day I started my pre-op solution (277lbs, now at 234.7). It's gone a bit slower than I had hoped but at least I'm losing and not gaining. I've been eating about 80/20, and have had some stuf... Sun, 9 Feb 2014 18:29:35 EST End of 2013... So, I survived December and all that entails. I went back to a few bad habits this month (sugar, diet soda). I've really got to leave the diet soda alone. It's making my new small stomach hurt, as well as where my esophagus leads into my stomach because the carbonation hurts it. Sigh.

I've ate a few sweets from Christmas and threw some up, so that really corrects that problem. But I am eating things (processed stuff), instead of mainly protein. I plan to get back on track with tha... Sun, 29 Dec 2013 12:11:18 EST First Month In... So, I should have probably updated before now but I've been kind of busy.

I went for my first month post-op appointment on Wednesday and it went well. I had lost 21lbs since surgery and 26lbs since first of Nov (from my pre-op appt). Up to today, I am at about 28lbs lost. Still have a long way to go though.

I've only gotten sick once, and it was when I ate some chicken salad. Which it may have been that I ate too much or something. I have been going to the gym about 4x p... Sun, 8 Dec 2013 17:12:27 EST Week 1 & 2 of WLS Journey.. So, week one went really great (can't remember how much I blogged about it before). But I lost almost 14lbs in the first week. Then I lost about another 2lbs the next day. HOWEVER, and this is really nerve racking, I have stayed the same weight 254 for 6 days exactly so far. UGH. I know the weight the first week was water that my glyceron (sp) stores released. But even when I lost weight the first time, I never had my weight stay exactly the same.

I mean, down to the ounce! It does... Wed, 20 Nov 2013 18:56:37 EST Journey to Weight Loss Surgery.. So the day before surgery, was my birthday. I spent it pretty miserable because I had a massive migraine headache and was only allowed to drink clear liquids.

I eventually took a few muscle relaxers and slept until 3:00am which was when I was planning to get up and get ready to go to the hospital.

We got there, and out of a LOT of people, I was the first one they called. They got me situated pretty quickly too. By about 7:00am they were taking me into the operating room... Sat, 9 Nov 2013 17:49:17 EST Sad, Sad Day.. Well.. today just took a turn for the worse about an hour ago.

My dad has a dog named Benji. Looked just like one from the movies. Last summer, our neighbors were keeping him for a friend, who ended up not wanting him back. He eventually took up with us and with my dad. He was my dad's farm dog, rode the tractor, the truck, golf-cart.. Went everywhere he could with my dad (he's approx 2-3 years old).

He eventually became part of the family (with our other 3 dogs). To th... Tue, 29 Oct 2013 18:02:44 EST 10 days 'til surgery.. So, I read from a few sources that the closer you get to having your weightloss surgery, the emotions take a toil on you. You go through different stages.

Stage 1 - I was thrilled when I got the phone call from the office saying the insurance approved me. I was excited when they called to schedule my operation date.

Stage 2 - What if thoughts are creeping in my head the end of this week. What if this doesn't work for me? What if I don't lose any weight? What if I gain it... Sat, 26 Oct 2013 19:56:48 EST Surgery - less than 2 weeks! I got the approval call on Friday that my insurance will pay for my surgery. It may be all of it because with all of the visits I did with the other stuff, I may have met my deductable. It only took the insurance a day - and I was definitely expecting to wait longer and/or have some problems with them. Glad I didn't.

They called Monday and we scheduled it for November 6th. I was going to do it the 20th because my co-worker's daughter is having a baby and didn't want it at the same ... Wed, 23 Oct 2013 14:43:59 EST Surgery, Embarressment..& Updates.. So, it's been.. just about a month since my last update. It's been pretty busy too - I would say.

First, I want to say my dad's cancer is okay. He had a check up last week and it looks fine and he doesn't go back until Jan. 1 - it's completely healed.

After my consultation with my weightloss surgeon at Duke Raleigh (which I was so impressed with) withing the week following that, I had everything scheduled regarding my pre-op requirements! They were on the ball and quick... Mon, 14 Oct 2013 18:49:57 EST Consult w/Weightloss Surgeon So yesturday, I had my first meeting with the surgeon that's going to be doing my Vertical Sleeve Surgery and I really, REALLY like him. His name is Dr. Alfonzo Torquati. I think he's Greek, and he had an accent.

I was very nervous but he was so comfortable to be with that I got over it. I took my 6 months worth of documentation with me (it's not consecutive but within the last 15 months), my bloodwork from December and he was very impressed. He checked my neck, abdomen, ankles, lu... Thu, 19 Sep 2013 18:05:47 EST Life Altering.. Today is not a good day. For a good number of reasons, but I got a new one day.

First of all, it makes 4 years today that I left my ex-husband. I have not like todays date since. I didn't realize it until I wrote the date at work and it hit like a bag of bricks.

Second, we found out today my daddy has cancer. He's had a growth inside of his nose that kept coming back. So they removed it at the hospital under anesthetic and did a biopsy on it. It makes me really sad becau... Tue, 3 Sep 2013 18:06:52 EST Busy Week & Starting My Journey! So, these past few weeks haven't been the best. My eating has been dismal and I've not been going to the gym. But my weight has pretty much stayed around the same.

I had a flair up with my fibromyalgia this week and it was horrible. I also decided to switch back to Cymbalta because I wasn't getting anything from the Pristiq. She also found me some more samples at work, so I don't have to buy any for now. I've also been stressing about telling my dad that I've decided to have the Ve... Sun, 18 Aug 2013 13:15:01 EST On Second Thought.. So recently, I started thinking about when I had made an appointment for the Sleeve Weightloss Surgery seminar last month but canceled it. I decided I am going to go forward with it. If it is my solution, and it works - it works. If not - it won't. I am going to try as much as I can before I give up.

I have mentioned it to my mom this time. It will be at Duke Hospital Weightloss Center (in NC - I'm sure you've all heard of Duke, lol). I spoke to the lady on the phone (liked her bet... Tue, 6 Aug 2013 18:13:56 EST I QUIT. Like the headline says, I quit. I'm fed up. The straw finally broke the camels back today. I am seriously breaking up with my food addiction. My thoughts from now on are food=disgusting. I am sick and tired of eating.

The past three days. I have ate and felt disgusting (two of the three I ate bad - like everyday lately). This morning, started fresh - I barely ate much before 12pm. I just felt nauseous. But that's okay, it kept me from eating.

I did go get some sugar fre... Fri, 2 Aug 2013 16:53:47 EST Such A FAT Week... The past two weeks haven't been good to me at all. I felt horrible all last week because I was switching medications. I feel just about normal now, except my feet/ankles are still giving me issues. I have only been to the gym twice in about 3 weeks. Yes, horrible. I haven't had any motivation. Ugh. I hate it.

I've not ate good, nothing. Then Sunday my Aunt gave us some jalapeño popper things. I ate a good serving of them, and a couple on Monday. Sunday night I kept waking up itchin... Tue, 30 Jul 2013 21:16:08 EST What's Going On.. This week hasn't been a great one for me but I believe it's my own fault.

I decided to start taking my medication at night (which isn't the problem). I wanted to try it at night to see if it relieved the tension in my neck. Well then I decided to take it every other day (the Cymbalta), however this week my resolve wasn't good when it came to food and I was also tired. But I recognized this so I've started taking it again daily. But then I talked to my doctors nurse about something ... Sat, 20 Jul 2013 19:22:32 EST Surprise? For Me? Okay, well - I said I wanted this next half of the year to be better right? First day of July, I got these:

For no reason at all. There was no card with them, and the florist would only tell me that it was a man in his 30's. (A friend of mine is a friend of hers and she refused to tell her too..). I've asked everyone of that description that I know of.. and nobody admits to it. UGH. It's driving me crazy... Mon, 8 Jul 2013 17:58:40 EST The Next 6 Months. Well, today is the end of the first 6 months of this year. I pray that the next 6 months are a lot better for me.

I've been off aspartame mostly for a week now (I had two 20oz diet sodas, 1 on Thursday and 1 on Friday but they didn't seem to affect me much as opposed to I guess 5 a day..). I found Zevia on sale at Kroger and at Fresh Market for 3.99 a six pack (compared to 5.99 a six pack). I'm going to stick to them and La Crox and making my own like I was.

I also think... Sun, 30 Jun 2013 20:13:34 EST Flair Ups w/Fibromyalgia.. Okay, so I randomly decided to google 'diet for people with fibromyalgia' after a few of you mentioned the Paleo diet. I realized a few of the things that are bad for flair ups are 'aspartame' and simple carbs.

Up until this past week, I had cut out diet soda with apartame. I had some Zevia with stevia extract but that's not counted as a artificial sweetner. I barely use any splenda, or eat much sugar free things. I've started eating a lot more fruit lately as well (more apples an... Tue, 25 Jun 2013 17:32:34 EST Can't Go Anywhere On Pause.. So.. I wish I could blog that I've lost a good bit of weight since my last blog but I would be lying. I was doing good up until the Saturday after my blog - and a couple of days after running again, and I got sick with a summer cold and I mean a COLD. I still have a faint bit of it too. Sore throat for almost 4 days, then the congestion, and then the cough. UGH.

It made my gym visits go to about 2 times a week, and my eating habits crap. But my weight is still withing the 239-244 r... Mon, 24 Jun 2013 18:11:09 EST Running Again. It's funny how quickly I can fall out of running shape. If you don't keep up with it, you have to start all over again - no matter where you are at in your running.

The last day I ran was the Disney Princess Half Marathon. It was a little over 3 months ago. At one point after it, I was going to quit. I was so mad because it was causing my body to fall apart and get injured. That maybe I wasn't meant to be a runner (or long distance runner anyway). Then of course, I am hooked to get... Wed, 5 Jun 2013 18:31:15 EST Things In The Positive.. I hope it's not too early to be saying this - but I think I have finally gotten something that's working for my body problems. The Cymbalta I have been taking almost two weeks is working (Monday is 2 weeks). I feel so much better, my mood is so much better, my hip rarely is hurting (my mom said it may help it too), my muscles don't hurt, my headaches finally quit but my neck still aches.

My blood work also was negative for lupus, gout and rhumetoid arthritis, so I'm assuming it is ... Thu, 30 May 2013 18:46:49 EST Doctor Update. So, I've still been having severe migraines daily, and they haven't stopped yet, but for the past few days, I've been able to get rid of them with medicine as soon as I wake up.

I went to the doctor on Monday for this problem and for her to test me for Fibromyalgia. She had be get some blood drawn and wants to rule out Lupus and Rhumatoid Arthritis (I do have a first cousin who has it really bad). She said they test me for everything before they diagnose me with that since there is... Wed, 22 May 2013 08:43:52 EST My Thoughts On Bariatric Surgery.. I said I wasn't going to blog, but I don't see 200lbs anytime soon and I needed to blog. Some of you saw on my status I was thinking about bariatric surgery, and you are correct.

I am not thinking per say about the gastric, but more about the sleeve. I know a number of people who have had this version, and I know a least a dozen in general that have had it.

Yes, I lost 120lbs on my own the first time. The second time is nothing like the first time, definitely not in my c... Fri, 17 May 2013 20:01:20 EST Hiatus Until 200lb... So, you all have probably notice, I have deleted all my blogs. I was close to deleting my whole Sparkpeople but I didn't want to have to redo all that I have done. Instead I am simply going to take a hiatus, Neil I get my weight back to 200lbs. I seriously need to get back to below the 200lb mark anyway. It will I'm sure help whatever problem I'm still having with my hip. So, until I get back to 200lbs, I'm not going to blog. I'm starting over.

- I have 32lbs to lose starting fom t... Tue, 30 Apr 2013 06:28:27 EST
