You read something that resonates with you and then you read it again a year later and it may resonate in a deeper level than before. I like that. Last night a woman shared her life story, so far, and she talked about faith building moments, not trials or struggles although they were, but how God had walked with her during these times. Faith building moments. God has given me a spiritual theme every year for quite awhile now. Something to ponder, something... Sat, 17 Dec 2016 08:33:17 EST Thankful... So thankful for a great time with my family over Thanksgiving. Went for a nice walk with brother and sister after dinner. Very nice. Tue, 1 Dec 2015 22:34:26 EST Let it go... I get a word every year that is my theme for that year. I became aware of it about 10 years ago.

Sometimes I get it early, in November and sometimes into the new year. These phrases or word become a life lesson for me. Quite often they become an encouragement I am able to pass on to others. I love that!

Wish I would have written them down over time, but I did not. Maybe this year, I'll start journaling again?

Anyway, last year was "let it go". That s... Wed, 24 Dec 2014 07:15:07 EST Diary of a "woman of a certain age" Sunday, Nov 30, 2014 - the following is what actually happened this morning to me. Can you relate?

OK... so first day that I have actually slept over 5 hours. Yeah!!! This "of a certain age" is tough some days. So I got up intending to work out for an hour... no major workout for a few days. Did snowshoe on Friday with the kids- was a blast! Anyway, I went to find my Little House in the Big Woods book to read while on the stationary bike - love to read while working out. Anywa... Sun, 30 Nov 2014 07:54:54 EST Sitting in silence... or bravery? I read this spark article because a BLC26 Teammate shared it. Mon, 24 Nov 2014 17:25:58 EST Secret Identity BLC26 Masks.... hmmm. Well as an introverted extrovert I do wear a mask at times. I love to be with people, have spoken to groups up to 150 - 200 people, MC for our monthly Women's Ministry meetings... but!!! I need alone time after too much people time. If I don't know people and I'm not in charge I am extremely shy and introverted, not great at small talk and it is wearing. So when I need to... I can put on my mask and make nice and friendly. Sat, 18 Oct 2014 19:57:56 EST Disappointment, mistakes, missed opportunities... As part of the BLC26 we have an opportunity to write about a disappointment, mistake or missed opportunity and what I did about it. Rebound? What I did right? Would I change my choices / behavior if I went through it again?

I had a tough time thinking about this... couldn't remember. I also thought that I'm sure I've had them, but defense mechanisms are great/awful about keeping the memories at bay. Just read a blog that addressed the question... “Are you living your eulogy or your resume?” - the title of Arianna Huffington’s blog in a recent edition of Huffington Post. Huffington defined what she calls the Third Metric, which redefines success as more than power and money. In her mind, success also includes well-being, wisdom, and one’s ability to wonder and give. The premise is that because we are so consumed with our work, i.e. creating our résumé, we lose sight of what really matter...
