SISTERUBU's SparkPeople Blog SISTERUBU's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Week 12 - Day; Wednesday For the last couple of weeks, I have plateaued. So, this week I added walking to my lunch break. I use a pedometer to track my steps. I've read that it takes an average of 2,000 steps to make a mile.

If that measurement holds true, I have added and additional 2 mile walk to my daily schedule. I event timed myself. According to our fitness tracker, I'm walking 1 mile per 18 minutes. This calculates out to a speed of 3.3 mi per hour.

Looking forward to Sunday's weigh in to... Wed, 30 Mar 2016 22:56:16 EST Week 12 - Day 1, Sunday Total loss still sits at 16 lbs. The last 2 weeks I have lost 0 lbs. I'm on some sort of plateau and am struggling to get past it.

Ready to start week 12! Sun, 27 Mar 2016 17:09:00 EST Week 11 - Day 1, Sunday Not surprisingly, I did not have any weight loss this week. I've been sick all week long (even missing days of work). However, I maintained my last week's weight. I'll take that as a win!

Week 11 here we come! Sun, 20 Mar 2016 16:03:40 EST Week 10 - Day 4, Wednesday Keeping it positive. This week I've been in and out of the office and unable to stick to my menu developed last weekend. I have, however, been making really good choices overall. For example, yesterday my work team was on the road and we ate out. I had an Asian chicken salad with vinaigrette dressing and water.

I'm learning to make better choices when I'm not in control of the ingredients of my meal! Wed, 16 Mar 2016 10:12:16 EST Week 10 - Day 1, Sunday Yea! Scale reflects a 1 lb weight loss even though I felt too ill to work out this week! I wi.ll take it! That makes a total loss of 16 lbs in 9 weeks. Not stellar... but steady progress.

It would appear that getting a minimum of 1200 calories a day is what I need to be sure happens.

Back to the gym tomorrow.

Have a wonderful Sunday SparkPeople! Sun, 13 Mar 2016 14:46:22 EST Week 9 - Day 7, Saturday I've been ill this week. UGH! It's been hard to get my calories when I haven't felt like eating. Since I've been running a low grade fever, I haven't been going to workout either. No sense in exposing the hapless to my 'grunge'.

Tomorrow is weigh in day... hope I have at least maintained. Tomorrow starts a new week, too. Here's to a better week!

Happy Saturday SparkPeople! Sat, 12 Mar 2016 14:52:29 EST Week 9 - Day 4, Wednesday It's HUMP DAY! I made quick oats with fresh apple, a bit of cinnamon, and honey for breakfast. Not my favorite breakfast... but I know it's good for me!

I'm adding antioxidants to my lunch today. So it's chicken salad with cranberries and almonds served on a bed of spring mix salad and a small banana.

I've been watching my caloric distribution to do my best to get the proper amount of carbohydrates, fats, and protein. Just another layer of tracking my food.

... Wed, 9 Mar 2016 09:55:11 EST Week 9 - Day 4, Wednesday It's HUMP DAY! I made quick oats with fresh apple, a bit of cinnamon, and honey for breakfast. Not my favorite breakfast... but I know it's good for me!

I'm adding antioxidants to my lunch today. I'm going to pick up some work out videos when I get home.

I just haven't felt well the last couple of days. A migraine yesterday and my allergies are acting up... it's the cedar! Still feeling somewhat 'hungover' from that migraine yesterday...

But, I'm on a mission and my meal planning and caloric intake are on track!

Have a great day SparkPeople! Tue, 8 Mar 2016 13:07:41 EST Week 9 - Day 1 Sunday I pulled a report and realized that I'm not consistently getting the recommended calories. I'm on a 1200 - 1550 calorie a day meal plan. Since I started tracking in January, I've met that window maybe 4 times!

This week, I'm going to try always getting minimally 1200 calories and aim for 1400. Let's see if I've just not been giving my body enough calories for it to feel 'safe' releasing this stored fat!

Have a great week Spark People! Sun, 6 Mar 2016 19:56:04 EST Week 8 - Day 7 Saturday This entire week was a struggle. We'll see how tomorrow posts to the scale.... I keep telling myself it's a journey and it's about making better choices along the way. I've been saving diligently for a new bike. In our area, we have a tremendous bike trail system that spans multiple cities. I am planning on making use of those trails this year.

This too shall pass. Looking for next week to be a better one! :)

Have a wonderful weekend Spark People! Sat, 5 Mar 2016 15:12:13 EST Week 8 - Day 1 Sunday .. gained 2 lbs last week. Not sure why. The last time this happened, I lost 5 lbs the next week. So, I'm hanging in. Grocery shopped for the week yesterday and have been prepping meals as I can for the upcoming week.

Nice Sunday afternoon, though! Sun, 28 Feb 2016 17:33:40 EST Week 7 - Day 7 Saturday Spent the day with mom yesterday. We had soo much fun. I do have pics.... I'll have to transfer them so I can post!

This was a beautiful day!

Weigh in tomorrow... Hoping for a solid performance even though yesterday was a bit off with Mom's birthday.

Have a wonderfule weekend SparkPeople! Sat, 27 Feb 2016 20:01:02 EST Week 7 - Day 5 Headed back to the circuit training room today. My knee performed fine and I completed my routine of 2 15 minute sets. YEA!

Tutus are ready for Mom's big day tomorrow and I'm out of the office at 4 pm today. It will be a nice long weekend. (I don't return to the office until Tuesday... Whee Hoo! A 4 day weekend!)

Have a great Thursday SparkPeople! Thu, 25 Feb 2016 08:41:55 EST Week 7 - Day 4 Took a tumble in the circuit training room yesterday... Not sure how that happened but got my feet tangled up coming off the rowing machine. Sigh... My knee is very sore today and I skipped my work out to give my knee the rest I knew it required.

Will be back at it tomorrow, though!

Will have to complete some work out videos when I get off work instead. Wed, 24 Feb 2016 15:51:41 EST Week 7 - Day 2 Monday... This will be a short week. I'm taking Friday and next Monday to celebrate my mother's 76th birthday and burn some vacation that I was going to lose if I didn't use.

We're going to surprise her with a 'dress up' day and host a tea party like she used to host for us when we were little. Dress up includes tutus and tiaras. LOL

I love my sisters... we totally enjoy being silly and everyone plays! No excuses! I purchased my assorted tulle colors and ribbon to create... Mon, 22 Feb 2016 21:12:21 EST Week 7 - Day 1 Whee Hoo! Weekly weigh in reflects a 5 lb loss. Since I had gained 1 lb last week this is fantastic! My total loss over the course of the last 6 weeks is 14 lbs, an average of 2 lbs a week.

I'll take it!

Headed to the grocery store to replenish my planned menu needs. Have a great week everyone! Sun, 21 Feb 2016 13:38:42 EST Week 6 - Day 7 Took a road trip with my sister to Tulsa, OK today. It was just so nice to have some one on one time. Visited the Spirit Fair hosted at the Wyndham Hotel. One of the vendors there had cut an rainbow obsidian stone for her. It is beautiful. He had only created the one... :(

Beautiful drive, wonderful company... time so well spent. Managed to eat my planned breakfast, we skipped lunch in favor of an early evening meal. Made good choices for the main course (chicken strip salad with e... Sat, 20 Feb 2016 22:08:24 EST Week 6 - Day 5 Struggled with my strength training today.... Just the crunches piece. Was only able to complete one set. Man, those muscles are SORE. I think I increased my weight too soon. I'll lower it back tomorrow.

I was running late and also completed just one complete set of the circuit... (I usually do 2). So my exercise time is a bit short. I'll try to catch a video at home after work. Love the exercise videos on Spark.

Have a good Thursday evening everyone! Thu, 18 Feb 2016 16:39:45 EST Week 6 - Day 4 Wednesday middle of the week. Having pre-prepped menu for the week, I've been able to quickly prepare meals so far this week. In some cases I've substituted a different veggie than originally planned. I've grown particularly fond of Walmart's Great Value Snow Pea Asian Stir Fry. A 1 cup serving is only 40 calories and it contains an assortment of vegetables.

I'm feeling really strong heading for the end of the week. Strength training is going well and I've been on track with calori... Wed, 17 Feb 2016 21:42:37 EST Week 6 - Day 2 I was totally off stride last week. I took a break from the regimented menu I had established for myself. I did manage to make better choices while traveling. I gained back 1 lb. :(

Back on track this week... no traveling... and I've returned to my gym routine. 30 minutes strength circuit training 1st thing in the morning to jump start my day. It's good to be home! Mon, 15 Feb 2016 10:09:24 EST Week 4 - Day 7 Last day of my 4th week! Weigh in and Measure is tomorrow. Hoping for solid performance. I'll post results tomorrow! Sat, 6 Feb 2016 18:51:02 EST Week 4 - Day 6 Had to be out to attend a funeral yesterday... Actually, a celebration of life. Alvin Hunter was a wonderful father and provided my family with his equally stellar son, my brother-in-law Roger.

After services, Roger's company Genentec catered dinner for our family. How awesome was that?! We are truly blessed!

That being said, my meal planning was somewhat off for the day. Portion control was good but content was somewhat off. I ate a roll ... it was a wheat roll (good su... Fri, 5 Feb 2016 08:58:51 EST Week 4 - Day 4 Feeling really good about my progress this week. Learning to substitute healthily on the run! Wed, 3 Feb 2016 08:23:11 EST Weed 4 - Day 3 I'm am so hoping it's true that after 21 days of making changes the changes become HABIT! I've really noticed a difference in my breath after climbing the stairs. I work on the 3rd floor of an office building. I began (2 weeks ago) to incorporate a trip down ans up the stairwell when I break to refill my water glass. That's an addition 3 trips throughout the day.

I'm still somewhat out of breath when I arrive at the top, but, that shortness of breath goes away much quicker no! Hoo ... Tue, 2 Feb 2016 10:30:31 EST Week 4 - Day 2 Okay... Worked for a friend Sunday and didn't get my grocery list filled. So, started the week not very organized. That meant a Monday afternoon trip for supplies. Done! So I've got everything I need.

Yesterday's weigh-in reflected no weight lost. (Poo!) However, my clothes are fitting better! Hoping for more progress at the end of this week. I've decided that I'm going to stick with my current process for this week and see if my body is just 'reorganizing.'

Hope every... I'm noticing a better fit in my clothes and am proud of myself for keeping up with all the tracking. Love the reporting features of Spark.

Tomorrow is weigh in day... hoping I'm maintaining a steady weight loss. Perhaps I can get a jump start on my yard prep for Spring.

Closing in on 3rd weekly weigh in... I've been a bit off on menu this week with attending a funeral. This created cravings for things I had stayed away from the first two week. So, I've had a diet soda (which I had eliminated from my diet) and a slice of cake.

My fitness streak has held strong and I'm going to hope for the best! I can tell in m... Fri, 29 Jan 2016 14:37:36 EST Week 3 - Day 5 Started the week off coming off of an out of town trip for a funeral. This made me feel that I was behind for the week. I've had to jostle my menu, miss a day of circuit training, and make substitutions for items I had not been able to replenish due to trip.

It's taken me until today to feel like I was back on track. Stuff happens! But, overall, I'm within my calorie allotment and will just have to make up that missed workout session.

Have a great Thursday all! Thu, 28 Jan 2016 08:25:54 EST Week 3 - Day 4 Added 10 minutes of walking prior to circuit training yesterday... Trying to increase my steps. My average is 6,250. Hoping to push that average to 8,000. It's an early morning start, though (5:45 am). I also added 10lbs to the majority of my machines today, too. I'm weakest in my chest and shoulders.

Having a good week! Hope all of you are too! Wed, 27 Jan 2016 08:36:09 EST Week 3 - Day 3 ... sigh.... I was out for a funeral day yesterday which made me miss a day of circuit training. This morning was tough! I had to really talk to all those muscle groups to get them going. I've found that eating breakfast every day has made a tremendous difference in my work out. I always tell my muscle teams that I'm doing my best to give them the nutrition they need to become stronger.

Counting down the days this week until Sunday weigh in! Tue, 26 Jan 2016 11:46:46 EST Week 3 - Day 2 Okay... So, today was not steller. I attended a funeral 2 hours away from home and carrying my menu with was just not feasible. The church hosted the family... and my goodness, homemade bread, homemade brownies, fried chicken, etc.

I totally controlled portions. 1 chicken leg, and 1 TBLS portions of the sides. I splurged with a slice of homemade bread with real butter, 1 slice of lemon bundt cake, and 1/2 portion of a brownie.

Haven't yet logged to see the damage. :( But... Time to pull together the grocery list and head out. I want to get it all done so I can sleep in on Sunday.

This week I had a couple of days that I totally craved something sweet. I hung in there and stuck with meal plan items like frozen yogurt and berries.

Met all my goals this week. Week Two on track! 244 Sat, 23 Jan 2016 16:24:32 EST Week 2 - Day 5 Didn't get my usual number of steps today... feeling croupy. :( But on track with exercise and managing my food intake. So I was delayed getting into circuit training and made my breakfast but left it on my way out. (It didn't help that there was ice on the windows)

So, got to work my muscles were like "NO WAY! No food no stairs!" So I took the elevator up.
