I'm excited about the start of spring! But I have to admit, the humidity is crazy~! I know this is Florida, but I was hoping this kind of humidity wouldn't start for a long while. Usually, the worst of it hits during the late summer to early fall.

My biggest concern is with the new vegetable plants I just put in the back porch. I already have chili peppers and bell peppers growing. Now, I've got cherry, roma and beefsteak tomatoes and some zucchini. I'm really hoping these turn out... Tue, 9 Apr 2013 17:02:22 EST I swear I didn't quit, I was just bedridden. So hopefully, the few lovely people I have befriended on this site have not considered me another drifter that gave up too soon in her challenge.

I know I haven't been very attentive to my trackers as of late. Unfortunately, I contracted a rather nasty infection that has resulted in me taking some nasty medication. One of the biggest side effects is drowsiness. And it lasts ALL day. So I've spent much of my time sleeping or attempting to get things done at a snail's pace. I still ... Tue, 2 Apr 2013 03:08:09 EST Not Starting Over, But Starting the Next Phase! Last Sunday, I completed my Les Mills Combat 60 day challenge. And with it, lost a total of 11 lbs. and lost 2 dress sizes. (Yay!)

Afterwards, I decided to take the next 2 weeks off from any high impact workouts in order to let my shins and right ankle heal up. For the most part, they are starting to feel much better. Though that right shin is still being bothersome. I hope to be pain free by next Monday! If not, I'll have to take it easy on my workouts.

I have a feelin... Sun, 24 Mar 2013 20:06:04 EST From Laying Down All Day to Craving Workouts First off, shin splints are the devil! I have some leg compression sleeves that have been a God send, but the aching in the bone is still a nuisance. Tell it to go away. :/

Anywho, I woke up today feeling refreshed. Finally! Last week felt like a real struggle. I don't know if it was the weather or what, but I had to really push myself just to get off my butt and exercise. Most of my workouts end up being done late at night around 10 p.m. - 1 a.m.

But Sunday is the star... Sun, 17 Feb 2013 18:12:14 EST Well Crap in a Hat! I have shin splints. Awesome. T.T

I swear I have the worst luck. lol!

Earlier today, I decided to go for a walk/run around the beach park down the road from where I live. Unfortunately, I got not more than 15 seconds in the running portion and my shin bones were screaming. By the time I got to the pavilions to rest up, I was practically in tears. I think all of this really started up after that 25 minute run I did on the treadmill at my gym. I felt so awesome managing t... Wed, 6 Feb 2013 17:31:46 EST Low-Cal Cooking: Mushroom, Onion & Sausage Omelette I don't know about anybody else, but I love me a good, hearty breakfast. But being on a low-calorie budget tends to put a huge damper on my usual favourites. It really cuts out a list of "can haves" with "can't haves" in bold, red lettering. And getting the hang of substitute options can be overwhelming.

Well, this morning I managed to cook up a hefty omelette with plenty of substitute options to help get some protein, dairy and taste in my meal without having to resort to a tiny, ... Thu, 31 Jan 2013 08:32:26 EST Releasing the Scale and Embracing How I Feel Instead. So it's only been a week since my last official weight in, and the results from the 18th were phenomenal to me. I lost a total of 6 lbs., and I admit that I was shocked by it. Why?

Because even though most don't admit it, many of us weigh ourselves on a daily basis. Now, I know we shouldn't take daily scale results as an important number. There are many reasons for weight gains/no changes happening even after the span of a week. Water retention, muscle gain, etc., etc. I also rece... Tue, 22 Jan 2013 23:57:43 EST I'm back in the fight and down 6 lbs.! After being sick since Saturday evening, I've finally been able to get back into the game with my fitness routines! It feels so amazing!

I went to fit club and managed to survive the Turbofire HIIT 20 workout and moved my way into the Insanity Cardio Abs workout. If my abs were not feeling it before, they will tomorrow morning! lol!

I've still got to finish my LesMills Combat workout, but I'm resting for a little bit and plan to have some carbs in my system before start... Thu, 17 Jan 2013 21:35:08 EST Got sick again! I have the worst luck! lol :( Yup, I got sick again. This time it was not a little cold. I caught some sort of nasty virus. I was vomiting and unable to eat a thing. I barely got any water to stay down. So I ended up needing an IV to stave off the dehydration.

I'm pretty sure my body is still in starvation mode from the shock of it all. So I'm attempting to watch what I eat and bulk up on as many vitamins and nutrients to help restore what I lost over the 24 hour period. I did manage to get plenty of rest so I... Mon, 14 Jan 2013 16:46:21 EST Going to Fit Club! Gonna' burn me some calories! First off, thank you ladies for the get well wishes! I'm feeling so much better today. 247

It was just a bad case of acid reflux, but I was able to get some extra medicine to put it in its place.

Anywho, today's class is going to be Insanity's Max Interval Plyo! This will be my first workout from the original Insanity fitness program. I did try the Insanity: Asylum Agility 2 workout. It was crazy hard, but very rewarding.

I also ordered the LesMi... Tue, 8 Jan 2013 18:06:12 EST It's a conspiracy, I tell ya! Yearly illness on a schedule? So I've found this strange, but for the past 3 years just like clockwork, I've managed to be ill around the 5th of January.

Year one, I had an ovarian cyst that decided to make itself known. Year two, I had uncontrollable vomiting that resulted from what I suspect was a bad batch of cookies. And this year? I've managed to lose an entire night's rest because of horrible heartburn and vomiting. And I think whatever it is that is happening now was foreshadowed by my lack of weight lo... Mon, 7 Jan 2013 13:32:21 EST No weight lost, but still a good start! So far the New Year has been going great now that my cold has passed. I admit, I'm avoiding any weight postings because when a woman is around her time of the month, water retention and bloating are unavoidable. I always shift anywhere from 3-8 lbs. so I don't want to discourage myself with numbers.

I did have a shot of jack daniels and some pizza the other night, but did some extra dance fitness to help with some of the calories. But as for the other days, I've been staying within... Sat, 5 Jan 2013 18:21:59 EST Lost My Mojo! Oh noes! So I have not had the chance to log in for about three days.

Fortunately, I have a 90 day fitness journal that I got for Christmas so I can record my nutrition and fitness throughout the day. Unfortunately, I have not done any cardio exercise aside from the energy I spend moving around at work.

I managed to come down with a cold over Christmas so I feel frustrated at not being 100%. I did play a little bit of the Xbox Kinect sports with my family, but it was very limi... Sat, 29 Dec 2012 01:14:58 EST Let's Go! Today should be interesting...

I'm going to a local intense workout group from They're called The Pensacola Fit Club. Basically, they focus on the P90X and Insanity type workouts. I'll be attempting it for the first time. I admit, I'm intimidated, but I'm also determined to see if this type of HIIT workout is for me! If not--back to yoga and pilates! haha. =P

I've recently taken an interest in exploring healthy recipes on Pinterest. There is a neat little veg... Tue, 18 Dec 2012 13:03:57 EST
