Thu, 8 Mar 2018 19:18:57 EST First day to the gym. Hello friends,

Today was the first day back to the gym since the surgery. Yes, I'm being careful. My daughter is making sure of that. I started out on the recumbent bike but my belly was jostling my shoulder too badly so I moved to a regular bike. Better luck with that.

After speaking with my doctor's office, he's not officially going to release me to go back to work until I can actually move my shoulder. DH is OK with this. He doesn't want me to take the chance of... Tue, 27 Feb 2018 18:05:34 EST Second Monday after surgery... Hello friends,

I'm doing pretty well since the rotator cuff surgery on the 14th. My helpers, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, went home yesterday. Boy do I miss them today.
DH and I have been trying to decide when I should return to work. Since my vacation time needs to accrue, even though I've been with the company for 16 years, I didn't have any personal/vacation time to use. So I'm not being paid for these two weeks off. 28

So, our options are fo... Mon, 26 Feb 2018 13:47:09 EST Rotator Cuff Surgery... Hello Friends,

Sorry I've been absent a lot lately. Just been trying to keep up with logging in each day and trying to log meals and such.
There's just so much been going on.

A couple of weeks ago, I'd gone to an orthopedic doctor for my sore shoulder. After x-rays and MRI he said that I had a torn rotator cuff and the only thing that would help would be surgery. This is because of how bad it's torn. Plus my bicep is partly detached. Yikes! No wonder I ha... Wed, 14 Feb 2018 10:45:37 EST Flu Season Deaths... Mostly to keep my co-workers from getting it as well. Not that it would seem to matter much, but you never know.
I posted the above headline from yesterday's paper because a friend of my daughter died a couple of days ago from flu-related symptoms. She was only 30 and had two li... Thu, 1 Feb 2018 13:40:21 EST The dreaded flu Hello friends,

So sorry I've been missing in action. I've been around. Just have been very busy with life. It seems to go on no matter what.
WIll try to catch up a bit more tomorrow with a longer blog. Suffice it to say, today I've been down with this nasty flu.

Take care and God Bless.
247 247 Wed, 31 Jan 2018 21:51:18 EST Off to a new start.... The new year is coming up quick! 2017 wasn't a very good year for me. Especially the last couple of months. Too much work and not enough time for myself.

No resolutions for the new year. They never work. That doesn't mean that I'm giving up. It only means that I'm going to have a plan every day and take it one day at a time.

Get on the "tracking wagon" again. Both food and exercise. NO EXCUSES!! Even if the overtime continues!

Less computer, less TV, ... Wed, 27 Dec 2017 09:43:49 EST Getting ready for Christmas... Hey, at least I'm getting paid pretty well. I did work overtime this evening, even though my co-workers thought I was crazy doing so.
Happened that DH wanted to go to the gym after work, and I needed to clear up some things off my desk since I'm going to be out of the office half the week next week on a business trip. Hello everyone,
Quick blog regarding how stress can make a person react. Definitely Not in good ways.
Since my last blog....well really for probably a week before that...sugar has been "a must" at least once a day.
The days will start out pretty well, with deliberate plans to workout, get 10,000 steps in every day. Then something happens that's out of my control and that plan fails.
I will admit that a lot of it is my fault for allowing things to get to me. Still have... Sat, 30 Sep 2017 22:22:43 EST Friday and a big day... Good news too... Hello all friends,

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers for my husband and the scare that we had with him. Thank the good Lord, he found out by the Urologist that it's not cancer!! They do, however, want to continue to watch the inflamation, to make sure nothing else may be going on.
He thinks it could very well be inflamed from a fall he had a couple of years ago from a horse. Good morning all,

Please say a small prayer for my husband today. He, and I, will be going to a cancer hospital for a biopsy for his prostate. He's had several tests which keep coming up with a high count. Hopefully we've caught it soon enough to make a difference.
He's not had anything like this in his life, whereas I've been through the wringer. He's scared. Something I kind of started thinking about since I'm still having trouble studying....
Could there be some neurological issue at work here? I mean, even when reading a book, which I do often, I find myself having to read the same paragraph, sentence, sometimes whole page, before the meaning of what I'm reading sinks in.
Same goes with the material that I'm reading for this test. With all the working and not enough time for myself.
Am hoping to get my DH to rub my shoulders tonight, when he gets home. That would certainly help a bit. Can feel the tension in my back and shoulders.

Part of it is because I'm trying to get used to hearing aids. Had a 30 day free trial, which will run out on ... Stop stressing over things I have no control over.
3. Start taking better care of myself instead of worrying about the job or the family. (Two of the things I have no control over.)
4. Hello everyone,
Quick blog, hopefully, to let you know I'm still around. Still studying... 24
BUT, I now have someone who's going to be studying with me. Course, he lives in Ohio, so we'd have to use texts and/or Skype in order to work it out.
He doesn't HAVE to take this test, if he doesn't want to. The state of Ohio doesn't require our agents to have this. But, because he'd heard that I've been struggling, he ordered the material, just so he can study along ... Thankfully, DH has settled down and isn't nagging me so much about the weight, cause between him nagging about my weight and nagging about this test, it's been REALLY hard not to say, "Screw this!!" and walk out! Still trying to take care of myself in as many ways possible. Eating more salads for lunch. Watching sugar intake. Easier since they've added sugar tracking now. Not really eating quite as much fruit as I had been. Not sure what to believe with all the hubbub about watching the kinds of fruit you eat. Bananas? Really?! And some of the veggies too?
Would figure that it's foods that I like.
Still trying to do as much exercise/movement as possible every day... Still studying on top of it all. Still not getting anywhere with that either. I really want to take this test very soon. Just don't see how I'd pass it with the little I have been able to study, and it being few days and far between.

First, I know that part of the reason is I get EASILY distracted. Left KC for Colorado Springs, CO at 11:00 am, had meetings while there, then flew back to Kansas City this afternoon. We almost ended up staying there overnight as the plane had some issues at first. Thank goodness we didn't! Hi friends,
Just a quick check in this evening, since I've more or less been lurking on Sparks lately. And no, studying is still not going well. I'm afraid that one or another of the medications I have to take could be what's causing the difficulty. I can read a page over three times and not retain any of what I've read. It's kind of the same when reading a regular book. I end up reading one page at least three times....every time...before comprehending what I'm reading.
DH has... It's been slow and tedious. And I've only got until March 8th to take it to be compliant. "Sigh"
My fault. Totally. And I know that. Just find it so unfair that 3 of the new ladies get to study AND get paid, but I have to study on my OWN time.
Anyway, I took today off work cause I didn't sleep that well at all last night. Hello everyone,

These past few weeks have not been great for me.
I'm at the point where I'm about to give up. In fact, whenever there's ANYTHING to eat that shouldn't be there, I'm in it. It's stress eating. I understand that.
Trying to beat the stress is not easy in my profession.
Need to REALLY focus every day to get SOME kind of exercise done and NOT make excuses. Very hard on me right now.
