There's no time. I really just don't feel like it today. These are a few excuses I have used, just like everyone else, I suppose. Well, the assignment was to blog about excuses to NOT exercise, and these are some of mine.

Trying to overcome them; using Spark tools to help. What are your excuses & how do you counter them? Mon, 3 Sep 2012 10:48:32 EST Welcome to another fitness level for me :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5039987 Seated exercises are saving me now. I am so glad to find the seated exercise videos on SparkPeople. Today Coach Nicole taught me the proper form for arm & shoulder exercises with dumbbells through video. Since I have limited mobility, I really appreciate learning about beneficial exercise in addition to PT daily functional exercises which are not intense enough anymore.
34

(Without dumbbells, I just followed through with the form of it all, since I think the chi... Sat, 1 Sep 2012 12:28:19 EST Look for your small goals - they can sneak up on you! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4999763 So happy this week - raised my steps per day from 500 to 750. What a surprise! It sneaked up on me that I was actually increasing my steps. Looking at the report, it struck me that it was time to up the ante.

The first step was replacing my old WW pedometer. Hubby gave me a new one for my BD last week - a SportLine Digital Motion Sensor that is light and clips on my waistband. I had planned to purchase the one on the SPark product page, but I won't look a gift-horse in the mo... Fun with recipes day.
180

Created Shar's Apple Upside Down Cake. Used Splenda Brown sugar, no sugar applesauce & egg whites. Will enter the recipe & figure out more accurate nutrition. 1/8 is about 370 calories with 2 fat grams. Making the serving size smaller might be a good idea. I like it warm with a scoop of Edy's Fat Free Vanilla Frozen Yogurt. Also a sprinkle of nuts sounds good. Sure satisfies my eternal sweet tooth. ... Thu, 12 Jul 2012 00:08:49 EST Figured out how to remind myself to hydrate! It's so easy. . . . http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4963010 It finally dawned on me how to make sure I drink enough water each day. I created 2 more snack times - one for mid-morning, one for mid-afternoon, one for evening. First thing each morning, when adding breakfast items, I add 2 cups of water to Breakfast & Lunch & Dinner & 1 cup of H2O to each snack for a total goal of 9 cups daily. 194

Now each time I add an item to my food tracker, I see the water I should be drinking. A great reminder! & it makes sure my water in... Mon, 9 Jul 2012 22:06:20 EST The heat wave broke tonight! & my food plan crashed yesterday! :( http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4960003 Yea for the weather break! But, we still need rain desperately. 27

I had a tough day food-wise yesterday. Maybe it partly had to do with all those days of high heat, but also hubby took 3 days of vacation, so he was home from Tues until next Monday. I did ok until Friday. It’s pizza & movie night at our house for years. I do usually try a lot of the tricks like lots of veggies, make my own crust, precooking the turkey pepperoni (but don’t tell hubby that it’s turke... Sun, 8 Jul 2012 01:30:28 EST THUNDER!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4948090 The loudest clap of thunder I ever heard at 11 a.m. today. My heart jumped & I yelled. WoW. It got very black & windy. We need the rain but didn't get much. ANYHOW, it made me think about what I might eat if the power went out. There's always canned tuna or a peanut butter sandwich, apples, grapes & bananas, so I guess that's ok. Oh, & good ol' H2O. :) Fri, 29 Jun 2012 19:03:00 EST Changed the background of my page today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4946646 to reflect that I AM REACHING for the STARS!!! ARE YOU? 41

“It is never easy to keep reaching for dreams. Thu, 28 Jun 2012 17:54:14 EST Too hot to cook! What are your favorite "cool" foods? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4945462 Well, busy day with out of the house chores: grocery day, bank, etc. AND it is hot -even hotter tomorrow. So looking for easy, cool food. My favorite is chopped salad; some sugar-free jello, or a power packed smoothie. Also 45 & frozen 277

Other ideas? Wed, 27 Jun 2012 22:46:25 EST worked hard today on food http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4943767 Roasted some vegetables that needed to be used and tried the Spark recipe for pork tenderloin. Made three bean salad, similar to the one from weight watchers cookbook. Tracked all my meals and cleaned up the kitchen. Took a walk to the mailbox. Made my grocery list. Explored some more Spark topics and looked at my friend's posts on FB . Wow!

Tue, 26 Jun 2012 21:02:15 EST The more I read, the more I learn and assimilate. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4940900 Every day I am learning more from the Spark articles and demos. I didn't even join for weight loss to start. I just wanted to track my food, nutrition and see where I was going wrong. I am beginning to realize how physical fitness, nutrition, and health all fit together to make for a better life. 150

Should have learned this a lot sooner. 246 Sun, 24 Jun 2012 23:54:41 EST A Day to search, save, print and make Spark recipes. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4939574 Had a great time today finding new recipes. Even entered one of my own! It takes time to find ones that fit into our lives, checking out the nutrition and products needed, and entering items into my favorites. But it is well-worth it. Eventually, the more I use the site, and the more I learn, I think the whole process will be easier. Just add a chopped salad and a baked sweet potato for a great comfort food meal! 4

Here is a picture of my veggie packed re-made... Sat, 23 Jun 2012 23:13:22 EST
