Do this to SEE what you've lost! Many years ago, I worked for Weight Watchers. I had lost 70lbs. on their program and thought that working for them would keep me on track. I was one of the ladies that weighed folks each week. I heard a lot of cheers and a lot of excuses at the scale each week. One memory sticks in my mind:

I remember a woman coming in and being extremely upset because she had only lost one pound. "One pound! That's it? I worked so hard this week, and all I lose is a lousy pound? Why am I even doin... Thu, 10 Mar 2011 09:43:28 EST Need Advice on a NICE coffee grinder/maker. Help! Okay Spark friends, I need your help. My father and I want to buy my brother/sis-in-law a REALLY NICE coffee grinder/maker. I tried to call our local Starbucks for their advice, but no one answered the phone. We are looking to spend around $100 for the maker. Any advice? She knows that I tend to see the bad side first with anything personal in my life. As my husband says, I'm pessimistic when it comes to myself, my family, or money. I'm hopeful/supportive for friends, extended family, etc., but not with anything that involves myself. My motto has always been: Hope for the best, but expect the worse. I know that isn't a very good way to go about life, but it has helped prepare me for the potholes on my journey.

I think my ... Tue, 19 Oct 2010 15:21:28 EST Beginning of Week 2 on P90X & a good attitude

The funny thing about getting your head right with diet & exercise, is that you become impatient. You finally look in the mirror and say to yourself: “What the HELL were you thinking to eat all that junk over the years? Just look at you. It is going to take a while to fix this mess you’ve gotten into”. You realize that those 2nd helpings, slugging it on the couch, “sure, I’ll have dessert” moments have brought you to this point. Those slim jeans have been sobbing in the back of yo... Thu, 2 Sep 2010 15:25:19 EST Day 1 & 2 on P90X I’m the first to admit that I am a big marshmallow. My upper body strength is close to the consistency of orange Jell-O. My legs are strong from lots of running/Tae-Bo/Turbo Jam/Walking. From the waist up, I’m a physical wimp.

My brother recently told me that I needed to work on my muscles. I have read that women over 40 start losing muscle mass at an alarming rate. They seem quite innocent at first, but they are fiendish little things. Just a taste, that is all they ask of me. They know that I can't resist them. They call to me. "Eat us, Shan. Let's just say that I have a trust problem. How's that? If you ask people about me, they will probably tell you that I am kind. Wed, 21 Oct 2009 14:45:32 EST 99% attitude and 1% consistancy I really think the above makes a difference in numbers falling on the scale & measuring tape. Tue, 1 Sep 2009 13:27:53 EST Anyone else love "You Are What You Eat"? I am a huge BBC America fan. One of my absolute favorite shows is: "You are what you eat" with Gillian McKeith. This show takes a person with each episode and evaluates what they eat in a week. The host then actually has a lay-out of exactly what they ate in a week.
