Lose 15, gain it back. Lose 20, gain it back. But my greatest accomplishment was a 50 pound loss in exactly one year. And when I hit that 50 lb. mark I swore I would never go back to the way I was. That was 21 months ago and I have gained back exactly 25 lbs. After a great deal of self-loathing ( I have NO ONE to blame but ME!!!) I didn't start hiding in the closet eating chocolate cake in the middle of the night, so it was so easy to miss the subtle chan... Tue, 12 May 2009 00:07:12 EST I'm average!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=551071 When I was heavy (I realize I've still got a ways to go...) it was so hard to go clothes shopping because I had to shop in the plus sizes. That in itself was depressing. April of last year we went to Texas on vacation, and just before we left I had to go buy some new shorts because I had once again outgrown the ones I had worn the previous summer. I was wearing a size 20! My first short-term goal was to get out of the plus sizes, the biggest 'average' size is a 16. Then as I had more suc... Tue, 8 May 2007 17:19:15 EST Atkins...no more http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=394392 Well, we gave it an honest effort. Tommy stuck with it for a week and a half, I did for 3 weeks. In the first week Tommy lost 10 lbs which was very encouraging. In my 3 weeks total I lost 4 lbs. Within 4 days of going off it I had gained 3 lbs. back. I have tried many diets, and I really thought this one would be easy. All the bacon and eggs you can eat..,Meat, cheese, where can you go wrong? It was much harder than either of us thought it would be. We both got terrible cravings for s... Wed, 24 Jan 2007 12:56:57 EST Atkins http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=354230 My husband suggested about 3 weeks ago that he go on Atkins. He decided he'd like to lose about 30 lbs and that he couldn't really 'diet' but that he could restrict himself to only meat, eggs and cheese. I did a lot of research on it, and decided that I would do it with him. So we picked a day-Dec 27th, after the holidays but before the new year when everybody else would be starting. We are now on our 6th day. I had worked out my own 'diet and excersize' program that was working well for... Tue, 2 Jan 2007 04:33:34 EST my inspiration(s) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=252204 As us mothers tend to do, I have a habit of taking care of everybody else before myself. Which is not always a bad thing, except that when time runs out, we are the ones who do without. I have been having a hard time finding time to run, so I decided that tonite, on the way home from our son's football practice I would run (atleast part way, it's still a little too far!) So I told my husband to hang around and talk to some of the other parents, then start driving until he caught up with me.... Tue, 29 Aug 2006 03:29:27 EST a little resistance training... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=243215 Although we have a great gym membership it's not always easy to find time to get there. (Or cheap to take all 4 kids to the childcare area!) So I decided to do a little home workout. I have read tons of magazine articles about how to 'work your abs flat in just 5 minutes a day!' and 'tone those buns at home' however I have yet to read the article that tells you how to incorporate 4 kids into your workout. As I lay on my floor doing crunches (200~wow!) my 17 month old ran over, sat down on ... Thu, 17 Aug 2006 13:46:50 EST
