Fri, 21 Mar 2014 07:04:44 EST The Binge Monster Returns I thought I had locked all the doors and boarded up all the windows, but I must of forgotten one because the binge monster found his way into my home today. Oddly, he looks a lot like me.

After doing really well for quite some time, I had an all out binge today.

I got out of routine and everything spiraled out of control. The sad part is that i am not even sure if I accounted for everlything. (If you see my tracker...the 1600 calories at the bottom were the binge)
... Mon, 30 Dec 2013 08:22:30 EST Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying...Don't Wait til Jan. 1st to Live I keep hearing people say that they are waiting util Jan. 1st to get healthy. For me fighting towards health is a daily battle. Every day I wake up ready to fight, some days I win, some I don't. However, I don't want to wait. I know there are a lot of temptations this time of year. Trust me the goodies are in my house too. However, I am trying my best not to have my all or nothing attitude. You know the one that says, I ate three (okay five) cookies, might as well have that wine and fo... Wed, 18 Dec 2013 08:20:40 EST I Wanna Be Like Mike! "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. Doing great .....juicing, plant strong, and progress It has been awhile.

I am still doing great. Losing at a slow steady pace. I continue to juice a day or two a week. Or sometimes just make a juice for a snack. I now eat lots of fruits and veggies and am pretty much meat, dairy, and oil free. I still have a weakness for cheese and substitutes are not worth it, so i let myself indulge once in awhile. I also don't fret about being meat/oil free when a special occasion rolls around (out to eat, friends, ect...) so all in all I w... Mon, 27 May 2013 10:49:48 EST Screwing my head on straight before it is to late! Hi Spark!
This past month has been a hard one for me. Lots of stress. The result was that I was on and off with my eating. I would eat great for a day or two and then terrible for a day or two. In the end I gained a few pounds back (6 to be exact). It is time to get this under control before I end up were I started.

Update for my boys: My son's broken arm is healing. His surgery went well and all looks good. I have made my peace with holding my 2nd grader back a year.... Thu, 4 Apr 2013 09:21:30 EST When it Rains it Pours It's raining, It's pouring...........Life is so crazy right now.

First as you all know the sequestration has had profound effect on my families financial situation and added a lot of stress for my husband and I.
Tuesday night my 10 year old slipped at the high school swimming pool locker room and broke his arm. Unfortunaly he is going to need surgery next Tuesday. Also, got a call a few days ago from my 7 year old's teacher requesting holding him back next year. Ugg.....can... Fri, 8 Mar 2013 13:05:15 EST Guess who is in Onderland?
Well, I am in onderland. I am so happy about this and feel really healthy (besides this cold). In two months I lost a whopping 43 pounds. In January I lost 32 pounds while juice fasting. In February I lost 11 pounds while committing to a diet of vegan and mostly fat free (nuts are a daily part of my diet along with flax and chia). I wasn't perfect, I never successful cut out cheese completly. There were good days and bad days. I feel like it was real and something i could stick ... Sat, 2 Mar 2013 11:25:04 EST I can't Stop Crying Tomorrow is the day that our government changes our lives. This sequestration will be taking roughly 43% of my husband's pay away. Looking at our finances is showing that times are going to be tough. Tomorrow I will have to sit my kids down and explain that they can no longer do taekwondo, guitar lesson, and other activities that cost money. We will have to tell them that there will be no trip to see family this summer. The other summer activites we have planned will also be off. I do... Thu, 28 Feb 2013 07:57:32 EST The Forgotten Protectors of Our Country I don't use my blog to talk about things other than my health often. Also, I am in no way a political person. I try to stay away from those kind of conversations. However, today i am a bit frustrated with our government and need to vent.

You see my husband is a United States Border Patrol Agent. I have become one of "those" people I went shopping this morning and filled my cart with fruits and veggies and lots of other things I used to not buy. Like: rice flour, flax meal, almond meal, egg substitute, coconut water, tofu. As I looked at my cart I thought "Yuck, I have become one of those people!" As the cashier checked me out, I found myself hoping she would notice that I am one of "those" people!

The last time I ate meat was on December 31. I have eaten lots of good salads and fresh fruits and veggies. I kept having at least one juice a day, usually for lunch. I noticed my stomache gets full alot quicker. I have kept with the gallon of water.
I gotta tell you that I felt a whole lot better when on the fast and almost want to go back to it. I am excited about the new way I plan to eat and about having a cup of coffee! :) However, I am also nervous about the end of this fast. I am scared to slip back into my old habits. I feel like I have gotten rid of the cravings for "bad" foods, but scared that once I start eating again I will not be as strong. Sat, 26 Jan 2013 20:38:08 EST Day 25 of 30 Day Juice Fast I can see the end of the tunnel and oddly that makes it harder to stick with it. I am going to stick it out. As I said before I need to prove to myself I can finish what I start. But gosh, I had to do a lot of self talk today. Mostly about that darn coffee. I really think it is a comfort thing. It gets cold and I feel like I should be holding coffee in my hands.

Had some good juice today.

breakfast:
carrot
orange
rei fruit (a new one for me....kind ...
