I accidentally marked my 1 pound weight loss this week as a 101 pound weight loss on SP... and I had a great belly laugh that people were liking it on my feed. I fixed it, of course, but apparently not quickly enough for SP to stop advertising my amazing 101 pound loss!

:) I checked... I'd be quite underweight if I lost 101. I'll settle for half of that!!! (30 down, 50 to go. 19 pounds from Onederland!) Wed, 30 Jan 2013 21:55:49 EST Three Days in a Row! I did a workout for three days in a row during my lunch hour. Yay me! Thu, 10 Jan 2013 21:18:07 EST Should I Stop Eating? If I'm satisfied, for today only, with my 900-1,000 calories eaten, do I make myself eat more before bedtime to hit 1,200 or can I go to bed, as long as this is not a habit? Wed, 9 Jan 2013 22:21:05 EST Juicer: Bought! After watching the documentary _Fat,_Sick,_and _Nearly_Dead_, we decided to buy a juicer. Not to juice every meal or go on a juice fast. Just to have another option for healthy eating/drinking.

I used grapes, bananas, oranges, grapefruits, and apples tonight and made enough for the family. It was SOOOO creamy, frothy, and rich! I also found some online resources on what to do with the pulp, so I'll be able to use the leftovers. (But not this time, I put the whole apple core ... Sun, 6 Jan 2013 21:51:03 EST Want More Food! Mmmm, I would like to eat more today. But I can't, so I won't. That's my commitment. You are my witnesses. Fri, 4 Jan 2013 21:12:14 EST Ooooh, temptation! I am feeling soooo tempted by the candy my husband bought. Mean, mean husband. Thu, 3 Jan 2013 22:17:28 EST Sleep is overrated. But not really. I run a library. And one of my aides has been out sick, which means I've had to do circulation work a lot lately. And I have a $60,000 grant application due on Friday.

I think I'm going to have to go into work at 3:45 tomorrow morning so I have time to finish the grant application before Friday... wish me luck, and off to bed I go! Wed, 2 Jan 2013 22:12:37 EST Yogilates After more than ten months of foot pain due to plantar fasciitis, I am pleased to say that I have lost enough weight and rested it enough that I can now do some light exercise. Two days ago, I danced four Just Dance 3 songs, and today I started the Spark People Boot Camp workouts. And Yogilates.

Aftr four minutes of Yogilates, I had to stop. I'm going to do this five times today, if I need to, to finish the video. :) I'm SOOOO uncoordinated, and taking ten months off of physica... Fri, 28 Dec 2012 17:25:28 EST Daughter's Surgery This morning, my 4 year old daughter had her adenoids removed adn tubes put into both of her ears. Other than being in pain and tired, her reaction? "It's loud!" Thank the LORD above that she can finally hear!

I took her to a buffet for lunch (her choice). I took a biteful of many kinds of foods, which mae it impossible to track, but I know I didn't go too far above my calorie limit because I know what it FEELS like to overeat. Thu, 27 Dec 2012 21:34:29 EST Kickin' It by Not Gaining over the Holidays... Woo hoo! I got on the scale today and have not gained any weight over the last week - quite a feat, as I have not been great at tracking over the holidays. No, I haven't lost any weight this week, but I also have not gained.

I feel as though I have a sense for what my "minimum" and "maximum" are each day, which is making it easier to not gain when I am away from SP. :)

Yay, me! Wed, 26 Dec 2012 22:14:55 EST AAAGH! I wish my husband would stop equating beauty with thinness. It makes me feel SO resentful. Even though I've lost 11% of my body weight (and am still going!), he still can't seem to find me even the slightest bit cute, much less pretty or beautiful.

Look at my photos - only my "before" photo looks ugly, and that was mostly on purpose to make my "after" picture look better! I may not be the most beautiful person in the wold, but the one person whose opinion matters to me can't see... Mon, 17 Dec 2012 22:18:57 EST No pain, no... loss... Hello, there!

We've been dealing with some stomach thing around here, so I've missed several days of Spark... and have also seen no weight loss. I don't think I've been overeating, just in a "survival" mode.

Back to it tomorrow... weigh-in in the morning! Good luck to me and all of you who are in BLC20! Tue, 23 Oct 2012 21:13:35 EST Off the Plateau! Finally! I saw weight loss today - I am off the plateau that I've been on for two weeks. I'd like to blame it on a change in medication, but I don't think that actually had much to do with it - I was just eating a tad too much.

Now back to our regularly scheduled weight loss. Mon, 15 Oct 2012 22:29:15 EST People Crowded Around to See Me! I presented twice at a conference today... and the room was filled past capacity, with people sitting on the floor outside the door. To be honest, it was the topic and not the person that they came to see, but it still felt GREAT! Thu, 11 Oct 2012 21:32:09 EST Weigh-In Let Down It's been two weeks with little change on the scale. However, I just self-analyzed and noticed that my attitude has gone from "I hit my minimum calories, I need to stop now" to seeing my max calories as a goal. I didn't even realize my change in mindset, and I now know to guard against it. Wed, 10 Oct 2012 21:44:13 EST Under my calorie limit, even w fast food! So fun to be under my calorie limit, even with a kids' meal at Culver's for dinner! No guilt here! Tue, 9 Oct 2012 23:08:43 EST Going and Going and Going... I realize that losing weight is a long haul and that keeping it off is a lifelong commitment, I just wish it would go faster. It would be so much more encouraging. You know? Mon, 8 Oct 2012 22:41:01 EST "No Soup for You" -Seinfeld Actually, after my weigh-in today, I should be on a soup-only diet. The scale did not budge this week.

But here's the thing: IT WILL NEXT WEEK. 8 glasses of water/day, 5 freggies or more, no dessert if I'm already at my calorie minimum in the evening, and dancing with my TV at least three times this week. Wed, 3 Oct 2012 22:05:41 EST A Tad Worried about Weigh-In Tomorrow Hmmmm... tomorrow, I have a weigh-in for a challenge here on SP, and I've felt bloated all week... I am hoping that, after another week of reasonable eating, my weight will continue to go down, despite the water retention and icky feeling. Wish me luck! (And say a little prayer for my 2 day old headache!) Tue, 2 Oct 2012 20:28:21 EST Still Going, So Much Easier Than I'd Thought! Reasonable food intake = reasonable weight. Duh, me!

Wish I had pondered this ten eyars ago. Fri, 28 Sep 2012 23:37:29 EST A friend on here??? I just found out that a friend from high school, Tab, is on Spark People and has lost 20 pounds. How encouraging. And what a wonderful tool we have here... Way to go, Tab! (Now if we can get our friend Penny on, it will be even better!) Mon, 24 Sep 2012 23:07:46 EST Yes! Yes! Yes! (See also: whoops!) Each day, there is a tiny bit of weight loss. BUt (whoops) I accidentally told my hubby my weight. I was so excited to tell him how much I had lost that I instead told him what I was "down to" - which is still more than 50 pounds above him! It was a credit to him that he didn't act shocked, but praised me appropriately. And I guess it is a bit of a relief that it is not a secret any longer. Besides, I will NEVER. SEE. THIS. HIGH. OF. A. NUMBER. AGAIN. Sat, 22 Sep 2012 14:48:50 EST Continuing Amazement I continue to be amazed that I am on this journey. This morning, I stepped on the scale again... and was down again! Heavens, it feels so good to see the change, at least in numbers. (Though I'm still waiting to feel different...) Fri, 21 Sep 2012 22:06:54 EST Surprisingly, still going... OK, when I started this journey about five or six weeks ago, I had about a week of no weight loss. But once it started, it just kept going - I'm down 12 1/2 pounds, which is 1/4 of my goal, and it keeps going. Honestly, a reasonable amount of food will keep me thin (once I get there!) for the rest of my life. So simple - but I'd never internalized that. I think I was afraid of being hungry... Thu, 20 Sep 2012 21:29:19 EST So excited! so... Down three pounds in one week while limited on workouts and eating at least my minimum number of calories. A bit worried that it's a fluke. I don't feel any different yet, adn I'm down almost 12 pounds. When does the difference become noticeable? Wed, 19 Sep 2012 22:18:46 EST Wow. I wish I had been motivated years ago to eat right - down another three pounds this week!!! Tue, 18 Sep 2012 22:27:59 EST Before Photo I posted earlier with my goals/plan. This is a "before" photo. Of course, I picked something that made me look terrible - I hope the difference is noticeable at the end, because this is embarassing! Incidentally, I don't know how to turn the photo... anyone? Thu, 13 Sep 2012 22:16:59 EST New Beginnings I have the most amazing husband in the world. We've been married nine years and really do think alike - we've had two fights in those nine years. He is my best friend...

Well, you know that last fight? In it, he gently tried to break it to me that he was resentful that I'd put on weight with each of my four pregnancies... and I was a little above my ideal weight to start with. This meant that through the years, I've just kept getting bigger.

At the top of the scale... Tue, 21 Aug 2012 11:09:10 EST
