Not bad for someone who can't exercise.
521 Mon, 25 Apr 2016 23:40:12 EST I'm enthused! Just got a great deal on a set of oil pastels, new in box, on a local garage sale site here. I've been colouring as an adult long before this current craze swept the world. I've always believed it to have theraputic properties. This just takes things a step further for me. I'm not much of an artist when it comes to drawing stuff that looks like actual things, but I do love to play with colour. I've always had a thing for oil pastels, the way they feel, smell, the way the colour can be satura... Sun, 10 Apr 2016 17:12:35 EST So upset! So, got to go away with hubs this weekend.
Sounds great, huh?
Nope. Ended up staying someplace with bedbugs. I am bit to PIECES!!! I'm allergic to most biting bugs, so I'm covered in welts. Disgusting. So now i have to try and keep them out of my house.
Unpacking the car involved grabbing my medications and toiletries. Everything else is in black bags, still in the car where hopefully the heat will help kill anything.
Wed, 6 Apr 2016 23:39:11 EST Learning : Tunisian Crochet I love learning new yarn techniques! I was happy that it stopped going up, finally, but down is infinitely preferable.
In an enormous amount of pain, and just waiting for the drugs to kick in. Had a nice long soak in the tub with hot water and lots of epsom salts. now my legs are rubbery, but not as sore. Did nothing for my back and hip though.
Oh well, going to have a nice light lunch then see if I can get a coupl... Thu, 17 Mar 2016 16:09:51 EST What a day! Got my errands done, and hurt like a bugger after. Then, I was resting at home, waiting for my meds to kick in (can't have them if i need to drive), and my gf called to surprise me by taking me for a pedicure. It was very nice. We normally have fun, but this was great!
I totally went overboard last night. I ordered pizza, and I don't know why I was so hungry, but I ate the whole thing! I felt so terrible after, but I had a couple of glasses of water, and I knew I'd have some hobbli... Wed, 16 Mar 2016 23:50:34 EST Feeling Low So, been talking with my physiotherapist, kinesiologist, physio coordinator, and my case worker (tomorrow). Seems like they just want to get me to find another job, a seated job, so they can say they did their jobs. What about the pain I'm in all the time? When does that get addressed? The thought of living the rest of my life with this pain is NOT appealing, I can tell you. I just have to remember to mention it to my case worker tomorrow. I don't feel like my quality of life is being address... Thu, 10 Mar 2016 22:25:48 EST Oh me My legs are killing me today.
I did 5 minutes on my new recumbent bike yesterday. I hurt to begin with, adding exercise pain is a bit much lol. I will persevere though. When I consider how much I've gone through already... this is a blip, nothing more.
Been working on my crafts. Almost done 4 more comfort dolls. They are so fun to make and so fun to give. They always make people smile with their quirky expressions and cuddly bodies.
My physiotherapist has told me that I n... Sun, 28 Feb 2016 17:25:19 EST I'm so excited!!!! Sat, 20 Feb 2016 04:06:39 EST Soda Stream So, a gf of mine gifted me with a Soda Stream machine. Pretty cool device. Fill your bottle with water, screw it onto the base, press however many times you want for your optimum carbonation level. Point of fact, I don't use any of the flavour syrups.
I'm not a huge fan of drinking plain water unless it's ice cold. So I know I haven't been drinking as much as I should. A lot of my "water" intake is in my tea and juice as well as water from the jug in the fridge. For a while now, I'v... Started physio, don't know how it's going to help nerve damage, but I will jump through their hoops to keep my benefits.
I've been working on my crafts still. Thu, 8 Oct 2015 10:26:58 EST Faulty Memory So, I still can't remember what I wanted to write about last night.
Irritating.
Today, I put on makeup. I haven't done that in a long time. Not because I felt good, but because I was trying to make myself feel good. It sort of worked. It didn't do anything for the pain, but it did help my mood! I would like their monthy fitness minutes notifications.
However, I would NOT like the SparkPoints notifications and milestones.

Why? Well, it's not like we do anything to get them.

Well, I realized how wrong I was! So yesterday I had a wicked headache.
Today I had a headache, chills and felt weak.
Decided I was going to try starting my doggie sweater pover again. I tried starting it last night, but the yarn is so fuzzy that when I dropped a stitch, I couldn't see it to pick it back up again. So, today I loom knitted this doggie sweater for my mil's yorkie. Modeled by my beautiful Sugar.

<BR... Fri, 26 Jun 2015 00:03:47 EST Saturday Fun Day Made myself a portable pocket today. Because of my mobility issues, I worry about falling down the stairs. In the morning I have to take my mouth guard case, phone, and reading glasses downstairs. The people who use the electric carts in WalMart. Hubs says it was the smart thing to do - pain avoidance. My brain says I'm admitting defeat. Admitting that I need it and dealing with that realization might take a while. As much as I joke about getting the "good" parking spots if they declare me disabled, I am paralyzed with fear at the thought. Fri, 22 May 2015 18:59:46 EST Project I'm still working on. I'm done the weaving, but now I have to do the measuring and (gulp) cutting. Cutting the length in half, going to seam the two pieces side by side, then border it in satin blanket binding. I just can't get up the courage to cut into it!

Sun, 10 May 2015 19:32:45 EST Today's Project So a friend has a project to raise awareness on the inhumane slaughter of wild horses. To that end, we're making African Flower Hex motifs, and they'll be sewn together to cover her horse, and they'l bring the horse around to different locations for parades and appearances and such.
The colours chosen are to represent the awareness ribbons.
Pink is for the women in my family that have been stricken with breast cancer.
The teal and white is for me, cervical cancer survivor.
... Sun, 10 May 2015 01:05:47 EST Trying positivity I haven't been posting regularly for a long time. Trying to keep up with work, and dealing with health issues, I had to make sacrifices.
That being said, I've been off of work since january with debilitating pain.
That led to depression and anxiety, with a little agoraphobia thrown in.
If it wasn't for online communications (Facebook, Spark, etc.) I would have NO social life. I'm thankful for my online friends.
I'm also thankful I have my crafts to keep me sane. Being stuc...
