SASSYBLONDE69's SparkPeople Blog SASSYBLONDE69's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community GULP! What did I do? I started the no sugar challenge today. I'm scared, but excited.

I took the quiz and it said I'm in control, so that's something!

Sun, 15 Apr 2018 16:25:28 EST Getting used to grieving?

It isn't the most flattering picture of me, but it shows how lovey L'il Bit was.

It's easier for me to not miss her during the day, but at night... that's a whole different ball of wax.
I miss her snuggling up to me.
I miss falling asleep to her loud purr.
I miss the heat she freely shared with me.

My life is colder without her.

I look at the ... Sun, 25 Mar 2018 19:01:40 EST I Miss Her I'm missing my Bitty-Kitty so much right now. I caught a glimpse of camoflage yarn in a shadow last night and thought it was L'il Bit for a moment. Then I cried.
I never managed to take a picture where she didn't look at least just a little grumpy, but she was the sweetest little kitty, and would curl up like a cocktail shrimp when you rubbed her belly.

Tue, 13 Mar 2018 21:49:44 EST Saxenda Update So I got a call from my Saxenda Care advisor today. How weird is it that I needed to confirm that I could skip my snacks if I wasn't hungry? I should just learn to trust myself. Eat when I'm hungry, and don't eat when I'm not.
Today I took hubby to a craft brewery to pick up some beer. We went to the bakery next door so he could pay me with a cookie. I got a ginger molasses for my tea tomorrow. It's going to be lovely.
We've been talking about how we're going to modify our eating ... Wed, 21 Feb 2018 23:32:36 EST self-awareness I was actually going to go buy jeans because none of mine fit.
7 pairs of jeans, some worn only a couple of times!
I sorted them according to size, and I'm actually looking forward into getting back into them.
The best thing in my life right now is that I've gotten my belief in myself back. Thu, 8 Feb 2018 02:14:14 EST Starting over - again! So I'm starting over, again. Tomorrow will be day 7 of my first week on Saxenda. I can't wait to weight myself. I can't wait to get my package in the mail from the dietician.
I can wait to be my best version of myself! It's going to be forever, so slow and steady.

The rheumatologist says I have fibromyalgia AND a non-specified chronic pain problem. She also says that the pool will help, and increasing my walking will help. I'm supposed to go slow and steady, don't push... Wed, 7 Feb 2018 01:20:06 EST Second Unicorn order! So cute! I'm proud of how these turn out. Only the second unicorn I've made! Fri, 16 Dec 2016 18:08:23 EST Oops! Wrong item! My last blog didn't show the project i meant to. lol
I was asked to make a little punkin bag for a boy who has a Halloween birthday. I think it turned out cute!

Thu, 3 Nov 2016 14:00:45 EST Another commission This is another commissioned item I just finished.

Mon, 31 Oct 2016 02:33:07 EST Newest creation

Thu, 15 Sep 2016 20:58:57 EST Proud of Myself I decided that I wanted to have my own beauty blog, and I went ahead and did it. Three posts in, and I'm actually building a following! I'm very excited about it. There aren't a lot of blogs for or by women my age, unless they're talking about children and anti-aging. Those things are all well and good, but not the complete focus of anyone's life. I don't have kids, and I don't want to live my life paranoid about every little line or spot. I still get pimples for pete's sake! lol Thu, 8 Sep 2016 22:44:27 EST Finally budged again So my scale finally budged again. Down .4lb. Big whoop, right? Actually it is. After weeks of it climbing for no reason I can fathom, it's going back down. I think it's because of the one med I was on.I haven't gotten it refilled since I ran out. It wasn't making any difference in my pain level anyway. Something to tell the dr.
Fri, 22 Jul 2016 02:22:24 EST Crazy Day So I decided I'm going to try and get myself on some sort of schedule. Even if all it does is get me out of bed in the morning and into a chair downstairs, so be it. I've set quite a few alarms for myself, so that if I start napping accidentally, an alarm will go off, assuring that I don't sleep the whole day away. I write everything down, or I forget. Increased my meds on schedule again, now I'm super drowsy again, and having dizzy spells. A friend of mine said her husband went through the s... Wed, 22 Jun 2016 00:41:40 EST Not into it My new meds have me hungry all of the time, and I've been giving in. So, I gained back the weight that I'd lost. Add to that the fact that I just don't feel up to proper meal prep most days, and we have a recipe for disaster. I made a nice salad for lunch today, and by the time I was done prepping it, I lost all motivation to eat it. I think I need to retool my meal plan, find foods to get excited about. Time to cruise the recipe section and my WW cookbooks, I guess. Thu, 16 Jun 2016 16:19:06 EST So incredibly angry. So, last night while I was getting my meds ready for the morning, I left my reading glasses on. As I put the two separate doses in my hand, I noticed writing on the pills. So I looked at the writing. Then I compared the pills in each bottle, to what the bottle is labeled as.
So, for the past 2 -4 weeks, when I thought I was dispensing a 30mg pill of active thyroid hormone, it was a 60mg. When I thought I was dispensing a 60mg, it was a 30mg.
So when I was taking 2 60mg pills (120mg)... Tue, 17 May 2016 15:37:42 EST Singing I'm so happy! I found a karaoke app. I didn't realize how much I missed singing until I started again. I saved a few songs, but I'm not totally happy with them. I need to practice more.

k-cups-when-im-gone/686660623_385535914

ou/686660623_385655815

Hope you like them. Sat, 14 May 2016 20:24:59 EST Exciting times! So, I won a contest, where you get $250 toward craft items. I don't know if you've been following my blog posts or not, but I have a LOT of crafting items! lol
So, I ordered a dress form for myself! I also got a few bobbins for my boats shuttle, and a band shuttle for my inkle loom (that I got for free!).
I also got in a couple of items that I got online for a friend of mine for her birthday.

It's been an eventful mail week!

Having the dress form is going to m... Fri, 13 May 2016 19:37:16 EST Cleaning day So today, I decided to clean out my fridge. Tomorrow is garbage day and when they pick up the compostables. Seems like a sensible thing to do, right?
Cleaning out the freezer was really difficult when you have pain in the places I have pain. I managed to get the freezer and fridge compartment all done. The freezer is even organized now! There were a lot of breaks taken!
I still have the door to do, but since that's mostly recyclables, I can do it tomorrow.
Still have to throw o... Sun, 8 May 2016 23:22:18 EST Oh carbs, how I love to hate thee! So, I know I'm a carboholic. To that end, I've been taking in slightly less carbs than my tracker says I need, and increasing my protein by that amount. Seems to be working.
You know how sometimes you just get a craving and nothing else will do?
Buttermilk pancakes.
Yes, tonight's supper was buttermilk pancakes, because anything else just wouldn't do. Now i feel tired and bloated. I guess that's my reminder to stick with my plan, regardless of what my cravings say - unless my c... Sun, 1 May 2016 23:32:39 EST It's moving! My turtle is moving! So far I'm down 7.2lbs since Feb.19th. Not bad for someone who can't exercise.
521 Mon, 25 Apr 2016 23:40:12 EST I'm enthused! Just got a great deal on a set of oil pastels, new in box, on a local garage sale site here. I've been colouring as an adult long before this current craze swept the world. I've always believed it to have theraputic properties. This just takes things a step further for me. I'm not much of an artist when it comes to drawing stuff that looks like actual things, but I do love to play with colour. I've always had a thing for oil pastels, the way they feel, smell, the way the colour can be satura... Sun, 10 Apr 2016 17:12:35 EST So upset! So, got to go away with hubs this weekend.
Sounds great, huh?
Nope. Ended up staying someplace with bedbugs. I am bit to PIECES!!! I'm allergic to most biting bugs, so I'm covered in welts. Disgusting. So now i have to try and keep them out of my house.
Unpacking the car involved grabbing my medications and toiletries. Everything else is in black bags, still in the car where hopefully the heat will help kill anything.
Wed, 6 Apr 2016 23:39:11 EST Learning : Tunisian Crochet I love learning new yarn techniques! This is tunisian crochet - such nice tight uniform stitches! Sat, 26 Mar 2016 00:43:48 EST Sisters! Sister Comfort Dolls are done.

Wed, 23 Mar 2016 16:52:24 EST Sweet hubs! Hubs got me a hand made shawl pin!

So in love! Tue, 22 Mar 2016 11:30:47 EST Happy Ostara Sun, 20 Mar 2016 05:48:57 EST Pain and weight loss Not sure what has tipped the scales 246 for me, but the weight is finally starting to budge. I was happy that it stopped going up, finally, but down is infinitely preferable.
In an enormous amount of pain, and just waiting for the drugs to kick in. Had a nice long soak in the tub with hot water and lots of epsom salts. now my legs are rubbery, but not as sore. Did nothing for my back and hip though.
Oh well, going to have a nice light lunch then see if I can get a coupl... Thu, 17 Mar 2016 16:09:51 EST What a day! Got my errands done, and hurt like a bugger after. Then, I was resting at home, waiting for my meds to kick in (can't have them if i need to drive), and my gf called to surprise me by taking me for a pedicure. It was very nice. We normally have fun, but this was great!
I totally went overboard last night. I ordered pizza, and I don't know why I was so hungry, but I ate the whole thing! I felt so terrible after, but I had a couple of glasses of water, and I knew I'd have some hobbli... Wed, 16 Mar 2016 23:50:34 EST Feeling Low So, been talking with my physiotherapist, kinesiologist, physio coordinator, and my case worker (tomorrow). Seems like they just want to get me to find another job, a seated job, so they can say they did their jobs. What about the pain I'm in all the time? When does that get addressed? The thought of living the rest of my life with this pain is NOT appealing, I can tell you. I just have to remember to mention it to my case worker tomorrow. I don't feel like my quality of life is being address... Thu, 10 Mar 2016 22:25:48 EST Oh me My legs are killing me today.
I did 5 minutes on my new recumbent bike yesterday. I hurt to begin with, adding exercise pain is a bit much lol. I will persevere though. When I consider how much I've gone through already... this is a blip, nothing more.
Been working on my crafts. Almost done 4 more comfort dolls. They are so fun to make and so fun to give. They always make people smile with their quirky expressions and cuddly bodies.
My physiotherapist has told me that I n... Sun, 28 Feb 2016 17:25:19 EST I'm so excited!!!! I found a recumbent exercise bike for $25 on the local garage sale site! My gf sent her husband to help me pick it up. My doctor, physiotherapist, and kinesiologist agree that it's a great idea. Might not be able to do more than a few minutes at a time, but it's something! Sat, 27 Feb 2016 01:32:11 EST Crafty fun! I got these weaving boards over Christmas Holidays, now I'm addicted to making mug rugs! Sat, 20 Feb 2016 04:06:39 EST Soda Stream So, a gf of mine gifted me with a Soda Stream machine. Pretty cool device. Fill your bottle with water, screw it onto the base, press however many times you want for your optimum carbonation level. Point of fact, I don't use any of the flavour syrups.
I'm not a huge fan of drinking plain water unless it's ice cold. So I know I haven't been drinking as much as I should. A lot of my "water" intake is in my tea and juice as well as water from the jug in the fridge. For a while now, I'v... Wed, 17 Feb 2016 19:54:16 EST Gift for Myself I made a scarf for myself to go with my new coat, and my ruffle cuffs,

and for fun, I took a picture of the sparkles in the sun!

Mon, 8 Feb 2016 23:45:03 EST Looking forward to a new challenge Going to be learning how to make hairpin lace in the near future. Thu, 15 Oct 2015 22:11:06 EST Not doing great So, we're waiting on tests to find out if I have Fibromyalgia on top of everything else, or maybe it's MS. Either way, I'm not happy. Started physio, don't know how it's going to help nerve damage, but I will jump through their hoops to keep my benefits.
I've been working on my crafts still. Actually came up with my own original pattern, too. Amazed they turned out right the first time!
Ruffle Wrist Cuffs for dressing up plain shirts, sweaters, or jackets.
The red has 3 sets of... Thu, 8 Oct 2015 10:26:58 EST Faulty Memory So, I still can't remember what I wanted to write about last night.
Irritating.
Today, I put on makeup. I haven't done that in a long time. Not because I felt good, but because I was trying to make myself feel good. It sort of worked. It didn't do anything for the pain, but it did help my mood! Tue, 28 Jul 2015 00:09:36 EST Perfect fit! Mon, 20 Jul 2015 21:52:48 EST And then there were two! Wed, 15 Jul 2015 23:43:33 EST Cutest item I've ever crocheted! I would like their monthy fitness minutes notifications.
However, I would NOT like the SparkPoints notifications and milestones.

Why? Well, it's not like we do anything to get them.

Well, I realized how wrong I was! The notification of SparkPoints milestones is SO important!

It shows the commitment to log all of you exercise. It shows the commitment to log... So yesterday I had a wicked headache.
Today I had a headache, chills and felt weak.
Decided I was going to try starting my doggie sweater pover again. I tried starting it last night, but the yarn is so fuzzy that when I dropped a stitch, I couldn't see it to pick it back up again. So, today I loom knitted this doggie sweater for my mil's yorkie. Modeled by my beautiful Sugar.

<BR... Fri, 26 Jun 2015 00:03:47 EST Saturday Fun Day Made myself a portable pocket today. Because of my mobility issues, I worry about falling down the stairs. In the morning I have to take my mouth guard case, phone, and reading glasses downstairs. I can't carry all of that and hang on to the railing, so i made myself a morning pocket out of scrap yarn.

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 00:39:16 EST Woo Hoo!
