So I made doggie sweaters for my mil's yorkies, Cassie and Kelly. lol
The body is loom knit and the legs are crocheted on.

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 21:46:10 EST Early Finish Friday? So yesterday I had a wicked headache.
Today I had a headache, chills and felt weak.
Decided I was going to try starting my doggie sweater pover again. I tried starting it last night, but the yarn is so fuzzy that when I dropped a stitch, I couldn't see it to pick it back up again. So, today I loom knitted this doggie sweater for my mil's yorkie. Modeled by my beautiful Sugar.

<BR... Fri, 26 Jun 2015 00:03:47 EST Saturday Fun Day Made myself a portable pocket today. Because of my mobility issues, I worry about falling down the stairs. In the morning I have to take my mouth guard case, phone, and reading glasses downstairs. I can't carry all of that and hang on to the railing, so i made myself a morning pocket out of scrap yarn.

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 00:39:16 EST Woo Hoo! So my customer picked up her poncho and hat today - they fit her perfectly! So, now I have a bit of money to buy yarn for a baby blanket I need to make. lol

If you're interested in checking out my yarny adventures, I made a Facebook page after someone requested a page so they could view everything in one spot. It's kind of like an ongoing yarn blog. Besides my yarny items I have funny pictures and a few thing I love.

Than... Thu, 18 Jun 2015 18:10:42 EST Finished Crochet Commission This is the crochet poncho and loom knit hat.
Does it look like $70?

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 16:59:09 EST My First Crochet Commission! I'm getting paid to crochet a shawl and loom knit a hat. So excited! It's the first time anyone's approached me asking if I could crochet something for money!
First 3 rows.

Had to rip it apart 3 times before I got it right, but I did it! Thu, 11 Jun 2015 11:12:21 EST More New Yarn So, I got some more new yarn. It's a lovely silk/linen blend. I'll be making some kind of wrap out of it, just not sure what.

Tue, 9 Jun 2015 20:59:38 EST Planning Projects So I think I have all of the yarn for my shrug. If I can pull it off, it will be beautiful.

This is the shrug.

And these yarns want to be together, but haven't told me what they want to be yet. lol

<img src=" Wed, 3 Jun 2015 20:49:56 EST Ooooh Pretty! Got some new yarns in yesterday. 2 are for a shrug (pictured below). The round multi-colour hasn't said anything to me yet, but the Lilac Wine Multi (on the right) is begging to be a shrug or cowl.

The two small ones will go with another couple of skeins to make a shrug. I'm waiting on one more yarn to go with them.

<img src=" Tue, 2 Jun 2015 21:28:31 EST New skills! So, I learned how to double crochet into double crochet. These are swatches for a potential customer.

And I learned how to make these cute scrubbies!

Pretty pleased. Sat, 30 May 2015 23:58:37 EST I'm getting orders! I've been sharing pictures of my projects on my Facebook page, and I'm starting to get orders! I had a lady order two hats in different colours. I love making this pattern, it works up so quickly and is such a nice hat!

Fri, 29 May 2015 15:33:17 EST Big Brother Set My friend and her husband just had a baby, and I already posted the set I made for the baby. This set is for his big brother, so he knows he's got a very special position now - big brother! His fav colour is orange and he loves firemen, firetrucks and everything associated. Hope he likes it.

<img src=""... Tue, 26 May 2015 16:07:30 EST New Books Hubs bought me two books on turning weaving into clothing! Pretty excited to see the types of things I can make easily!

Mon, 25 May 2015 14:27:49 EST Psychological Effects of Pain Today I became one of "those" people. The people who use the electric carts in WalMart. Hubs says it was the smart thing to do - pain avoidance. My brain says I'm admitting defeat. Admitting that I need it and dealing with that realization might take a while. As much as I joke about getting the "good" parking spots if they declare me disabled, I am paralyzed with fear at the thought. Fri, 22 May 2015 18:59:46 EST Project I'm still working on. I'm done the weaving, but now I have to do the measuring and (gulp) cutting. Cutting the length in half, going to seam the two pieces side by side, then border it in satin blanket binding. I just can't get up the courage to cut into it!

Sun, 10 May 2015 19:32:45 EST Today's Project So a friend has a project to raise awareness on the inhumane slaughter of wild horses. To that end, we're making African Flower Hex motifs, and they'll be sewn together to cover her horse, and they'l bring the horse around to different locations for parades and appearances and such.
The colours chosen are to represent the awareness ribbons.
Pink is for the women in my family that have been stricken with breast cancer.
The teal and white is for me, cervical cancer survivor.
... Sun, 10 May 2015 01:05:47 EST Trying positivity I haven't been posting regularly for a long time. Trying to keep up with work, and dealing with health issues, I had to make sacrifices.
That being said, I've been off of work since january with debilitating pain.
That led to depression and anxiety, with a little agoraphobia thrown in.
If it wasn't for online communications (Facebook, Spark, etc.) I would have NO social life. I'm thankful for my online friends.
I'm also thankful I have my crafts to keep me sane. Being stuc... Wed, 6 May 2015 15:44:27 EST First Broomstick Lace project First broomstick lace project finished. This one's for me!

Sun, 3 May 2015 19:39:25 EST Almost forgot! I couldn't find a pattern using the size of yarn or the loom I wanted, so I made up my own.

Thu, 30 Apr 2015 21:57:06 EST Baby set Granny square blanket and comfort doll in matching colours for a friend who's expecting.

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 23:45:23 EST New project Working on a new project. It's called Broomstick lace and I'm going to make an infinity scarf out of it. The yarn is a shimmering silk that I really shouldn't have bought, but I just loved it so much I had to!

Here's a better picture of the colours.

Fri, 24 Apr 2015 16:46:18 EST Hormones - T.M.I. Well, I think we're getting to closer to where we're supposed to be with my Thyroid meds. Just got my first period in over 18 months. can't say I missed it at all... just sayin!
Sun, 25 May 2014 03:17:13 EST Health update Kind of bad news.
Monday I had to call in sick to work. So much pain I was throwing up. I have to wait for them to book an ultrasound. They think I may have an ovarian cyst.
June 16th I have to go in and have my cataract measured... looks like surgery on my left eye will be end of June. Right eye will be done 3-4 weeks later.

Excited, scared, anxious... all at the same time. Wed, 19 Mar 2014 23:12:14 EST Loom Knitting Group I started a loom-knitting group on here because there seems to be some snobbery towards it in the "regular" knitting/crochet groups. I wanted a place to talk about loom knitting with other people who are on the same journey to health and wellness.

Well, it seems we're either an apathetic bunch, or maybe we just have too much going on in our lives. Hardly anyone is posting anything, only one person other than myself has posted a picture of their work. I even posted a message asking ... Fri, 7 Feb 2014 11:47:33 EST Ooh yeah, Baby! So, on Saturday, and again yesterday, I did over 10,000 steps, according to my fitbit. Major accomplishment for me. Thu, 6 Feb 2014 11:26:04 EST So excited! Today and tomorrow off of work! Woo hoo! I'm going to celebrate by taking dog for a nice long walk, then seeing if I can't get my Wii to work. For some reason it isn't working through the receiver, want to see if it works when directly connected to the tv. I need my Wii yoga!
Sun, 2 Feb 2014 13:38:49 EST I love Phillip Phillips Why was this never released as a single?

7Tq4a-s
Sat, 1 Feb 2014 12:05:05 EST Reason # 3 for waking up and not lingering in bed. I have an hour or so between when some businesses open and when I have to leave for work - so I can actually get stuff done!
Wed, 29 Jan 2014 11:12:52 EST Reason #2 for waking up and not lingering in bed. Working retail from open to close, this is the only time i get to see the sun - if it's out!

67 67 67 67 67 67 67 67 67 Fri, 24 Jan 2014 12:05:54 EST Reason #1 for waking up and not lingering in bed. Having the time to eat my breakfast and drink my tea in a leisurely fashion. Not rushed or gulping, just eating like a normal person. Not scalding my tongue with piping hot tea is just a bonus!
469 + 490 + 56 = 30 Thu, 23 Jan 2014 11:59:19 EST An explanation... Please don't be offended if I don't like your status. If your status is about points on the wheel. Spinning the wheel is just something I do on Spark, cause honestly, I like getting the points. I don't expect anyone to like my statuses that are my wheel spins either.

Now, if you get an award for fitness minutes - I will like that sucker all day long! THAT is an accomplishment involving far more work than pressing a button. You're making steps to increase your health and wellness, a... Thu, 23 Jan 2014 11:56:10 EST A true friend is more precious than the most beautiful diamond... So I had asked a friend if she could order me some yarn on her cc and I pay her. I want to make a shrug/wrap to go with the material I got to make a summer dress out of.

Here's the material and yarn.

Well, it came today. I wondered why the box was so big for 6 balls of yarn.
When I opened it up, this is what I found.

<img src=" Mon, 20 Jan 2014 18:06:29 EST Monday, Monday Yay! No, not that it's Monday, but that the sun is shining and it's my day off!
My appointment with the naturopath is at noon, then I have to drop off some unused/unwanted/broken small appliances at the recycling centre, do my wii fit and walk the dog, pull out all of my yarn and organize it, dishes, laundry... busy day. But like I said, the sun is shining!

This is what Artos thinks of last week, as well... Mon, 20 Jan 2014 14:02:04 EST Long week Well, last week was my first week back after having the flu. It seemed so long, and I've been soo tired! Couldn't sleep last night, and now I'm still tired. I want to get my house cleaned today so I can mostly relax tomorrow. I say mostly because I also have an appointment with the naturopath, and I have to get the windshield replaced.
I'm also expecting a package of yarn tomorrow. Thinking I'll organize my stash while I wait... lol. Also want to do some bath cooking so I can make my wor... Sun, 19 Jan 2014 14:51:35 EST Turning the corner? Today was the first one in (what feels like) a long time that I wasn't in a drugged up haze. My ears are still bothering me, but I think the rain/wind storms sweeping over Vancouver Island have more to do with that than anything else. Mon, 13 Jan 2014 00:58:40 EST Hate being sick! Had to email my boss this morning to let her know I couldn't make it in. Was awake most of the night coughing and managed to lose my voice. Sucks.
Tired of being sick. Wed, 8 Jan 2014 12:23:08 EST 6-9 months So, today is the last day hubby will be home for 6 to 9 months. Sometimes it just sucks having a man in the military.
In 6-9 months, my thyroid hormones should be optimized, so I'll be feeling better, have lots of energy, and (hopefully) will have been able to lose some weight. At least knowing what I know about my thyroid and the associated hormones, I've stopped beating myself up about not being able to lose the weight. It was a battle I was doomed to lose. now, however, with the prope... Sun, 5 Jan 2014 14:07:33 EST Being sick over Christmas... I got the flu Christmas day... totally sucks. Still not quite over it, but starting to feel better. Good thing, too. Supposed to go back to work on Tuesday.
Started T3 on December 15. Should have been feeling more changes, but I feel that the flu has definitely dampened those. I have noticed less body aches, so that much is nice! Now if the energy levels will just fall in line, we'll be laughing!

Vow to myself - Spark more consistently in 2014. Between the new meds, my fitb... Sat, 4 Jan 2014 13:47:15 EST Back on track! So, not only did I lose the 2lbs I gained while i was away, I lost another 1.4lbs on top of that!
I'm 5 lbs away from 200. I haven't been there in years! Hubby is away for the week, so I grocery shopped for just myself. I'm making lots of different salads: broccoli, my Mediterranean couscous salad, fruit salad - I love raw vegetables! I even picked up some smoked slamon. I flaked soe up, added a Tbsp of miracle whip, and 1/2 Tbsp of dried dill, and rolled it up in a weight watchers whol... Mon, 5 Aug 2013 22:27:02 EST Expected failure So, I had to go out of town on business last week. When I got back, I was up two pounds.
Big deal.
Our meals were provided, so it was a matter of making the best choices from a not so great supply.
Looking back, I'm proud of myself - I kept it to just 2lbs! I can lose it again. I'm back on track and feeling positive!
Just have to give my tummy time to readjust to eating proper foods again - it did NOT like what was offered! lol Wed, 31 Jul 2013 00:43:38 EST 7 weeks on Weight Watchers I'm down a total of 11.4 lbs.
I've lost a little over 5% of my starting weight.
So far, so good! Mon, 22 Jul 2013 00:18:27 EST Non-Scale Victory!!! I had a non-scale victory today!

Getting ready for work this morning, I had to punch a new hole in my belt! It was a whole inch in from the last one!

Love it! Thu, 18 Jul 2013 00:02:32 EST Oh well I didn't break 10lbs, but was I really being realistic to expect a .8lb loss in 3 days? Probably not.
I'm content knowing that I will make it on my next meeting, and might even make it to my 5% goal!
Mon, 15 Jul 2013 15:09:46 EST make-up ww meeting I missed sunday because of an even I was a vendor at. So I went to a different location today to get weighed and check the meeting. I was down another 1.4 lbs!
I fully intend to break 10lbs for my regular meeting on Sunday!
Thu, 11 Jul 2013 15:06:07 EST 2 weeks on WW = -5.6lbs! Yup, you read it right. I'm down 5.6lbs after only 2 weeks on Weight Watchers. I'm .2 lbs away from my starting weight on here! Seems like it's been two steps forward, 17 steps back up until now, but I think this could really work for me.
I even took my first Zumba Gold class last night. It was so fun, and I only had to march in place once (cause I just couldn't do the step without endangering myself or others!).
Feeling good!
Gonna go play in the garden today!
Tue, 18 Jun 2013 15:33:14 EST not so much tracking here I joined Weight Watchers a little over a week ago, so I won't be doing my tracking here, except weight! ;) I am still tracking (even more than when I tracked here!), so that's good.
I'm almost back to the weight I "started at" on here. Tells you how out of control things were.

So, the part time electronics position is going pretty well at my work. The full time person left and moved away, so I've been filling in mostly full-time hours since then. They want me for the full-t... Wed, 12 Jun 2013 12:46:20 EST OW! So I worked in the garden for about 90 minutes the other day. I was so sore yesterday! I'm so sore today! Hot baths with epsom salts and taking extra potassium doesn't seem to be helping. Might do some yoga stretches after work today, see if it helps. Fri, 26 Apr 2013 11:47:25 EST Frustrated I had to work all weekend, so was really looking forward to getting back to my exercise today.

After work yesterday, I twisted my knee climbing my front stairs. Now it's hot sore and swollen.

Alternating cold and heat, took some acetaminophen. Times like this I really miss being able to take ibuprofen. :( Mon, 22 Apr 2013 09:47:53 EST So frustrated! Trying to order some yarn online that I can't get anywhere. My paypal isn't letting me take the money right from my bank account.

Other than that, the sun is shining and my bulbs are coming up!
Mon, 25 Mar 2013 11:37:45 EST My Slouchy Hat and new slippers

So that's the new hat I made for myself on the knitting loom, and a close-up of the button detail I put on it.

And these are the new slipper socks I made for myself on the knittin...
