SARAHTHEPARK's SparkPeople Blog SARAHTHEPARK's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Loading: 50% complete Oh my goodness. It has been a while since I posted an entry. Ha! Probably a good thing! One of my goals is to spend as little time as possible in my day on a computer. :P

Guess what! I'm halfway there! More than! I clocked in at 174 pounds this morning. ONE. MORE. POUND. And it will be 50 total since I started tracking. 45 pounds was halfway. That was several weeks ago --- that accomplishment.

What have I done to get here? Well... let us reflect in a sort of semi-structu... Tue, 4 Oct 2011 13:50:15 EST Sleepy I've started getting up earlier (5:00 am, though today it was actually more like 5:20 am) so I can get my exercising all done before the humidity and heat kick in. It's no fun to take a 2 hour walk in 86 degrees with 70 percent humidity. Unless you're crazy. Crazy people like that.

Today was the first day of getting up at 5. And it was a bit of a struggle ---- mostly because I stayed up until 11:00 PM followed by freaking out every 30 minutes because I thought I could smell somethi... Wed, 13 Jul 2011 07:54:08 EST A Real Keyboard June 23rd and we finally got Internet. I was accessing everything through my phone, but it's apparently impossible to write blog posts effectively on an iPhone on sparkpeople. Maybe it's something sparkpeople could look into --- make a more touch-screen-friendly interface for blogging. Not to worry. Nearly every blog site I've used has the same issues, namely with the "Blog Entry" section of the page. There are things you can do with a mouse that you can't do with a touch-screen (not effectiv... Thu, 23 Jun 2011 16:50:58 EST Winning! I has it. I completed my weight loss clinic last Friday (June 3.) My final weigh in? 204.2! Amazing! I didn't dream I'd lose that much in two months! Holy cow. And I've got all these new habits, like obsessively looking for excuses to walk everywhere: parking is expensive, have you seen gas prices, the bus costs monies, I don't carry cash, it's only 5 miles...

This month also marks a glorious achievement in life. We finally have a home. We closed on our first house! And as of May 31, we've b... Mon, 6 Jun 2011 08:39:18 EST Supremely awesome It's been a few weeks, but fear not my sparkites! I have not strayed from the flock!!!

Yesterday, I went to see the trainer for the first time in 2 weeks. Prognosis? Down 4.8 pounds! OMG! I've lost approximately 11 pounds in 4 weeks. And I'm still going! 11 pounds out of my goal of approximately 90 are gone! That's like 12 percent of my goal completed!!! I didn't dream that I'd make this much progress so quickly! It's really motivating! :)

My back is doing much better. I... Wed, 4 May 2011 08:46:00 EST Whaaa! I've got an appointment next week with a chiropractor. Crazy frustrating. I just want to cry at this point. Appointment at 10:15. Session with trainer at 11. What am I doing? Fri, 22 Apr 2011 12:00:26 EST Whoops As with anything I do, I usually hurt myself. The new addition made to the d'oh list is picking up something wrong. I tweaked a muscle in my low back --- practically my butt. It's definitely improved over the last few days, though I'm feeling a bit down because it hurts to stand, sit, lay down, walk, squat, and bend over. Lunges, however, don't hurt. I hate lunges... Why my squats! Whyyyy!!!

I'm going to see the chiropractor this week just to make sure it's only a muscle thing and ... Sat, 16 Apr 2011 12:33:59 EST Wherein the TV leaves Today marked a good day on the weight loss track to 135. I lost almost 3 pounds since I started changing my ways. It was done using measuring cups and magic portion plates. I did not calorie count. Calorie counting seems like a righteous waste of my time when the problem(s) with my diet isn't calories, it's quantity.

Think about, really. They say a serving of meat is the size of a deck of cards or roughly 3-4 oz (depends on the density of your meat.) Yet, we order the mouth wateri... Tue, 12 Apr 2011 13:59:59 EST Starting Again Another blog. Another diet website. Another attempt at starting weight loss. I think where I failed in all my attempts previously was my lack of motivation to take advantage of the free things I can do to exercise --- the free gym at the apartment, the free gym at the hotel, the free park down the street, the free 150 mile bike path next to my home. I realize that I still face the same danger of getting completely demotivated and quitting in about 2 months --- when my Weight Loss Clinic ends.... Thu, 7 Apr 2011 13:22:05 EST
