Not finished yet, but almost 3/4 of the way through. I started adding in a fourth meal today, tried to keep supper to under 500 but was just a bit above it. It's hard to eat in middle of the day - I got in a small meal ( I thought it would be more calories, but it wasn't) around 4 and by 7 I was famished again. I think this way of eating will really transform the way I lose weight and I think it's going to jumpst... Tue, 25 Jan 2011 21:20:26 EST No turbo today... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3942728 Instead, I walked about four and half miles at a good clip.

I walked from one side of Manhattan, east to west, from the east river to the hudson :) That's more than three miles. Central Park was blissfully quiet...

I also walked to and from work, which is like 3/4 mile each way, so it brings my total walking to four and half miles, plus I took the stairs - 7 flights - one time.

I had a Dr. appt. across town and hen it was done, it was rush hour. I realized ... Wed, 19 Jan 2011 23:57:53 EST It's working http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3920794 So got on the scale yesterday after sweating profusely at Turbofire 45. I really kicked it this time and I burned almost 500 calories. I was down again, to 167.8, the lowest I've seen. But sometimes I am just dehydrated after working out, so wasn't sure that was a number I could trust. This morning, got up and there it was!

What's crazy is that the number isn't exciting, it's the downward direction on the scale and the feeling that my hard work is finally resulting in lbs. down. Thu, 13 Jan 2011 10:01:28 EST Finished Lean Phase! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3871646 I finished three months of Chalean Extreme today and I feel great. I saw a picture of myself from June and I couldn't believe I looked the way I did. I looked uncomfortable in my own body, and sad.

Now, while still 30 lbs. away from goal, I feel strong and fit from all the ST and Turbofire I have been doing, and I look dramatically different. Only 12 lbs. lost, but I no longer look pregnant, my body's reshaping and my waist is coming back. I've got a long way to go, but I feel gr... Thu, 30 Dec 2010 12:02:52 EST From the NYTimes: BC Survivors should lift weights! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3857800 December 22, 2010, 12:01 AM
Phys Ed: Lifting Weights After Breast Cancer
By GRETCHEN REYNOLDS

Michael Hitoshi/Getty Images
Last year, an influential study examined whether breast cancer survivors with lymphedema could safely lift weights. Lymphedema, a painful and even disabling swelling of the arm, is a dreaded complication of breast-cancer surgery, especially if a woman had lymph nodes removed. Experts long thought that hefting weight of almost any kind would contr... Wed, 22 Dec 2010 14:19:52 EST Wok Magic http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3856618 I bought a $5 wok from ikea. Deep, wide and huge.

Tonight, I threw 6 chicken breasts in a little oil, then added broccoli, red pepper, sugar peas, carrots, onion, garlic and mushrooms. Added ginger, black pepper and tamari sauce, served over leftover basmati rice - and had a huge supper for 6 people! It's like the stone soup story...

Incredible. We all ate, and are satiated.

I am definitely in love with my cheapo wok. Made the $$$ spent at Ikea worth it (we... Tue, 21 Dec 2010 21:20:00 EST want to see the scale move down and other thoughts http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3817322 I was so excited on Monday. Got on the scale after working out and saw 171.9 after seeing 174-176 for a week. Got on the scale on Tuesday, back up to 176. I KNOW I probably was water loss that I saw because I was sweating profusely and had not rehydrated yet.
But I was so gratified to see the jump I was looking for, I got all pumped up about it.

Weight loss is hard for me. I am hypothyroid, and every lb. comes off excruciatingly slow, much slower than it comes on.

... Wed, 1 Dec 2010 15:15:26 EST Done Week 1 of Push http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3779368 I finished week 1 of push.

I've been doing a hybrid of Chalean and Turbofire and really loving it. I do Fire 30, 45, and 55 EZ in between the ST and try to add a HIIT to one lifting day. I do abs after lifting on Sunday.

I LOVE the way I feel. I feel revitalized, strong. I never thought I would be lifting 20 lbs., and I am...

I see myself getting tighter, too. It's noticeable. I had this weird belly that was puffy below the chest line, making me look six ... Fri, 12 Nov 2010 11:32:14 EST Push! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3767513 I was very psyched to start the second month of Chalean.

I was pleasantly surprised to see how much stronger I've become. I started lifting with 20 lbs. for the lower body, and I've been using the 10s for the upper body, with the exception of the biceps which I used the 20 lbs.

As I bent to put my weights away, I noticed how easy it was for me to pick up the tens and fives - even easier - and put them away. I don't see it yet on the outside, but I guess it's working! (I ... Sun, 7 Nov 2010 09:50:51 EST Realization http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3751855 Weight loss happens when the future goals are more important than present pleasure.

Sun, 31 Oct 2010 13:29:14 EST Chalean is awesome! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3723989 I decided to finally crack the Chalean open. I was so excited once I started, I ordered turbofire too! I wasn't sure which to do, so I decided to do both: with the help of other members, I am doing a hybrid - 3 days of lifting, three days of cardio with stretching afterwards.

I see I need to go heavier with my weights - so I need to buy new ones soon. I've been using 5 and 10 and I don't feel the screaming pain she keeps on talking about, so I am going to get new ones.

... Mon, 18 Oct 2010 17:34:19 EST Off the Hiatus... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1182026 OK, I've been completely out of the spark for almost three weeks, and it shows. I kept up the exercise, but did not log my food at all, and it resulted in me gaining about 5 lbs.

I was busy entertaining out of town guests for a week, in addition to work/home stuff. We did walk alot - we saw lots of NYC that we have not been to, so it was fun. I also got my first 10 mile bike ride of spring - up the along the hudson, from W. 84th to the GWB and back. Love the feeling! I went again... Fri, 2 May 2008 10:29:10 EST been doing this for a month... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=926919 ... and I have little to show for it. I have been exercising almost daily (between 5 - 6 times a week) and have been adding up the food I am eating. I haven't had pastries, white bread, ice cream or other junk food, aside from a couple of tortilla chips once or twice. I am hoping the scale is saying the same story, over and over again, because I have been exercising alot and perhaps I am building muscle.

Or it could be a thyroid-related issue; I need to be more careful when I tak...
