Musings about motivation and diabetes http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5664952 Once again it's been a long time since I posted to my blog. I have still been coming to Spark multiple times a week, but I have not been committed to sticking with a program. I won't make excuses, as I proved to myself back in 2010 that no matter how busy I am I can fit fitness and good eating choices into my life without feeling deprived. It's a matter of getting back into the habit, and I need to do it again.

Over the last year, I've been helping my parents and then my mom after ... Sat, 5 Apr 2014 10:40:39 EST Wow - I've definitely been neglecting the blog! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5033173 Hey, SparkFolks!

Hope you all are doing great! My godson is going into first grade today - I can't believe that it's the end of summer already and that he's already almost six years old!

I've had an exciting summer traveling all over the place - Alaska, Pennsylvania, Florida, Bahamas (including a Disney cruise)...I've mostly been maintaining but I'm back to losing again, thank goodness.

Over the last several months, although I've had a kind of yo-yo year, I'... Mon, 27 Aug 2012 12:27:13 EST Happy New Year! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4650785 Howdy, SparkPeople!

Well, we're solidly in 2012 now. I'm back to tracking everything I eat (although last night I went to a game party and I don't think I captured all the snacks...) as well as trying to get back on the exercise track. Today I am going to try to do all the stuff I thought I'd be doing this past week as I've been off work. We'll see how that goes!

I'm hoping that 2012 will bring with it new awareness and motivation, as I know that when I eat healthier ... Mon, 2 Jan 2012 10:26:28 EST OK, nothing like getting your health numbers to motivate getting back on track! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4456607 Hello, SparkFriends!

So I have been ebbing and flowing all summer in terms of paying attention to what I'm eating, and I'm definitely not doing as much exercise as I was when I was being regularly successful. My company offers free health screenings, so I went today and had the usual weight/BP/Glucose/Cholesterol stuff done. While I'm not completely out of whack, it's apparent I really need to start paying attention again. My overall cholesterol is 205, which isn't TOO bad, but ... Tue, 30 Aug 2011 13:19:01 EST Dodging a bullet? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4389670 Hello, SparkFriends!

I find that it is amazing how easily one can fall out of good habits. I had been doing so well for so long and was saying how easy it was to fit in exercise and ensure I got all the possible SparkPoints for the day. Weeeelllll, I'm sorry to say that consistency has not been my strong suit. I've logged in every day and done some of my items, even when out of town unless there's no access, but otherwise I've been really spotty about tracking food, making good ... Wed, 27 Jul 2011 12:00:08 EST Reasons to Lose Weight Revisited http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4328425 So for one of my challenge teams, I'm supposed to list my reasons for losing weight. As I've covered this in past blogs, I thought I'd paste the previous ones here and add comments.

1. Overall better health/lower risk of diabetes which runs in my family
2. Truthfully, seeing a smaller number on the scale than I have before
3. More stamina for aerobics and sports
4. Healthier outlook and habits / lifestyle change
5. Tue, 28 Jun 2011 13:59:52 EST Must regain motivation! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4272317 Hello, SparkFriends!

Just realized I hadn't posted a blog for almost three weeks! I've really fallen off that particular habit, since I was posting daily for quite a while. There's no time like the present to get back on track - not tomorrow, not Sunday so that it's at the beginning of the week, but today!

At the beginning of my Spark journey, as is normal for any new venture into weight loss for me, I was extremely motivated. I regularly drank my water, I started a w... Thu, 2 Jun 2011 11:08:21 EST Walking around the zoo http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4231548 Happy Friday, Sparks!

Today went completely differently than originally planned. I thought I would end up trying a different Zumba class this morning at 8 and then having a massage at 11, which I'd walk to. Instead, my godson's mom asked if I wanted to go to a local petting zoo and park with the kids. How could I say no?

I still got up early and tried to do a walk-in appointment at another massage place in the same chain - to no avail. So I drove to Barnes and Noble, ... Sat, 14 May 2011 02:04:51 EST Fairly normal day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4229433 Happy Midnight, SparkPeople!

Here it is five minutes to twelve, and I'm getting this blog in just under the wire. Today was fairly straightforward - got a bunch of little things done at work today working from home, got a new(to me) Oldsmobile Alero that I bought from a coworker smog-checked today, had a singing lesson, and worked on some silk banners I was making for an event this weekend.

I did pretty well with food and less well with exercise today. I made a yummy S... Fri, 13 May 2011 02:57:40 EST Trigger Foods http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4227142 Happy late evening, SparkCompanions -

As another belated countdown assignment, we were asked to revisit our trigger foods. For me lately, it appears to be cheese and crackers. Chocolate is still somewhat of a trigger, though if I pre-portion some for myself, it works ok. The PopChips are dangerous if I'm at home and the whole box of them is available to me (I subscribe through Amazon to receive a case per month so I have them to bring to lunch, but sometimes they are hard to re... Thu, 12 May 2011 02:50:28 EST Reasons to Lose Weight http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4224612 Hi, SparkFolks!

I'm just starting on a new 10% challenge that goes for the next 8 weeks. One of the Pre-challenge assignments I hadn't gotten to yet was to list the reasons I want to lose weight, so here we go:

1. Overall better health/lower risk of diabetes which runs in my family
2. Truthfully, seeing a smaller number on the scale than I have before
3. More stamina for aerobics and sports
4. Wed, 11 May 2011 02:16:36 EST Slowly but surely getting back on track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4222150 Evening, SparkFriends!

Sorry I haven't posted much in the last week or two - I've been backsliding with some of my healthy habits, so although I've been on Spark every day except a couple days of unexpected lack of internet access, I've been sadly lacking in the blogging department!

Things have been going ok - I've been trying to keep on walking, and I do some strength exercises every day, but not very many. I need to reestablish the habit of spending ~ an hour doing ex... Tue, 10 May 2011 02:35:33 EST Back on track! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4195609 Evening, SparkFriends!

I've been a little bit of a slacker on doing my daily blog and my regular exercising lately. When I saw that there's a new bootcamp team, I thought it would be just the thing to get me back into doing the strength portion of my workout, so I joined the Spring into Shape bootcamp team.

I also had a rare Wednesday evening free, so I tried a Zumba class for the first time. What fun! I did better than I thought I would, though there were definitely ... Thu, 28 Apr 2011 01:12:54 EST Made it through the middle of the week http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4180781 Hi there, SparkFriends!

Here we are at the very end of Wednesday. It was a good day at work - I got some important stuff done and didn't waste too much time. I need to be productive again tomorrow though - have some deadlines coming up.

I was a little extra snacky and under-exercisey today. I think I need to find something that will re-motivate me again, as I was doing well for a long time on ensuring I got at least my walks in and preferably my 10 minute workouts str... Thu, 21 Apr 2011 02:58:28 EST Monday, Monday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4175899 Hi there, SparkFriends!

I have been a slacker and not posted my blog the last couple of days. It's actually been a nice weekend. I'd been fighting a cold and taking Nyquil at night and Dayquil during the day to try to ensure I had a voice on Sunday when my church did its big Easter program. I ended up sleeping in on Saturday until almost 11:00! I weighed in on Saturday as well, and, wonder of wonders, made my 8 week 5% goal, losing 3.2 this past week. Woo hoo!

I rel... As is usual for a Thursday, I worked from home today. Both the gardener and the housecleaner came today, so I have a squeaky clean house and yard for a brief moment in time. It's always a nice stress reliever to have a clean house! I bought myself some flowers (stargazers) to put on the mantel to add a homey touch.

I got to meet a friend for lunch today, which was nice. I used to see more of her but she mo... Fri, 15 Apr 2011 01:51:25 EST It's Laaaaaate http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4164641 Good End-of-Evening, SparkPals!

It's been a long day. It's mostly been filled with good stuff, though - got a fair bit of catching up done at work and with some efforts outside of work for which I'm responsible. Went out for lunch but had a nice light soup and salad meal, and dinner was healthy leftovers. Had a little extra snacking today, but nothing that felt out of control. I walked a fair bit, and at our dress rehearsal for Sunday's Easter presentation (we do it on Palm Sun... Thu, 14 Apr 2011 02:52:38 EST Busy day, relaxing evening http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4162231 Top of the evening, SparkPeople!

Well, it was a busy day at work today. I got a lot done, and one of my friends asked me to come by at lunch to help with a computer problem. I didn't get out to do that until almost 2:00, and then I realized I needed gas. I got to the gas station a mile or so away and then discovered I'd left my purse at the office. Sigh. Drive back to the office, get purse, return to the gas station, and then go to the friend's house. Fortunately I was able to f... Friday I had setup for the event I was responsible for. Saturday I was wearing three different job hats, so there was much juggling of responsibilities. It was VERY cold both nights, but we had plenty of blankets, thank goodness. I didn't eat that much this weekend, so I had a 6oz steak at Black Angus this evening. I had one indulgent potato skin, but otherwise I did OK - had a salad and a baked potato which I didn't e... Sun, 10 Apr 2011 23:49:14 EST Popping in to say hi http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4152941 Hi, SparkPeople!

I'm logging in from a coffee shop down the hill from the event I'm running - no cell service up there so my cellular air card didn't allow me to log in from the event. So far everything is running smoothly, and I've gotten a ton of exercise today!

Eating was a bit more challenging, but I did stay in my range for the day, or close to it. Hoping to be able to come down the hill tomorrow to log in for my points as well.

Have a fantastic weeken... Sat, 9 Apr 2011 00:28:20 EST What a day! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4150884 Hi, SparkFolks!

Whew - what a day. I worked from home today, as I generally do on Thursdays. There was a software problem that caused me to be on the phone just about all day long, so I didn't get to make the dinner I wanted to. I still was able to put something on the table, but it wasn't what I'd planned. Because I was so busy work-wise, though, the silver lining is that I didn't do any undue snacking.

This week I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow morning instead of... Things here are pretty normal. Work was a bit crazy, but I got through the day. Tomorrow is a work-from-home day, and I'm off Friday to work an event. I still have some work left to organize the event, but it seems to be going OK.

Food-wise I did pretty OK today - I went to In-N-Out burger today but had a single burger with no bun, which was only 240 calories. I had a yummy soup and salad dinner, walked for an hour, an... Thu, 7 Apr 2011 02:12:11 EST Happy Tuesday! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4145848 Evening, all -

I realize I didn't actually get a chance to post last evening. I went to a San Jose Sharks game unexpectedly, which was a lot of fun since we won. I cooked a yummy steak yesterday and a Weight Watchers chicken recipe today. It's been an OK couple of days for exercise as well. I even relaxed a bit - who knew it was possible?

Hope you all have a great Wednesday! Wed, 6 Apr 2011 01:48:16 EST Lots of accomplishments today! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4140308 Evening!

The day started out great. I was on the mic at church this morning, and I had one song that I had the lead and part of it was solo. It went great! It was baptism Sunday, so particularly second service the house was packed, so the energy was really up there. The rest of our set went pretty well as well.

Afterwards I went home to grab my laptop and then went to the kids' house to take care of them so that their dad could go to fighter practice across the stree... Mon, 4 Apr 2011 02:32:55 EST A nice well-rounded day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4137992 Hi there!

It was a beautiful day here in sunny California (no, we don't always get sun here - we'd had a ton of rain for a couple of weeks, and it's been great to have the sun all week). It was actually overcast this morning and cooler than it's been the last few days. I went for an early walk and then made some yummy cilantro/mint/greek yogurt dip and had some of it with sugar snap peas.

Then I went to another T Ball game and saw some folks I knew that were relate... Sun, 3 Apr 2011 02:18:24 EST Children's Discovery Museum http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4135901 Hello to you all!

I had a fun day today - I got to spend the day with my godson and his sister (4 years old and 1.5 years old). I wanted to save their parents day care money, since I was off today. We went to a local children's museum, the Children's Discovery Museum. There were a lot of play areas for the kids to do various things, including playing with bubbles, water, giant blocks and the like. We were there for about two hours (including a snack bar lunch - I had half a gri... Sat, 2 Apr 2011 01:55:35 EST T Ball - what a concept http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4133360 Evening!

Wow - it was warm. It was over 80 degrees here today. I had a good day working from home and did some walking on the Wii at lunch and after work. I cooked a butternut/apple soup for lunch - it was really yummy.

This evening after work I went to my 4 year old godson's first Tee Ball game. It is amusing to watch - kids at that age do not yet know the overall purpose of the game, so there was a lot of everyone chasing the ball, a fair bit of kids hitting the bal... Fri, 1 Apr 2011 01:58:15 EST Fun time at the ball game! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4130765 I had the opportunity to do to a day game, the last exhibition game for the SF Giants. It was against the As, and it was very exciting. It was pretty slow for much of the game, but right at the end the Giants came from behind (1 to 0) to win it! (2 to 1). I had some garlic fries, but it was balanced overall. I had a smaller dinner, and it worked out ok. I had some work to do this evening, so exercise was somewhat less today, but oh, well. My weigh-in for my other challenge came out well... Thu, 31 Mar 2011 02:59:45 EST Loving cooking these days http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4128066 Evening, SparkFriends!

One thing that of course changed once I started being more conscious of my eating is that I cook way more often than I go out for meals. However, I hate being bored with food, so I try to make at least a few new recipes a week. Sometimes they're off SparkPeople, and sometimes they're out of the scads of cookbooks I have. Today I made a pan-seared chicken with lemon chive sauce from America's Test Kitchen. It was yummy. This week at the grocery store I pi... Tue, 29 Mar 2011 23:50:44 EST Another Monday comes to a close http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4125673 Good evening, all you SparkFriends!

I had a pretty good day all around today. I was in a good mood, and I got stuff done at work. I had a little snack issue today because my mom gave me a bag of Japanese cookies, and they're my favorites from when I was little, so of course I ate too many. I adjusted in other parts of my day, though, so I'm only very slightly over my calorie range for the day.

It was sunny enough to walk out of doors today! I did my evening walk but ... I saw No Country for Old Men at a friend's houlse. That was....interesting, though I didn't like the ending. I saw Rango in the afternoon yesterdy after dropping by a local amusement part which was open just for my company! Rang was cute, though a bit surreal. This morning I was on the mic, so I had a lovely singing morning. This afternoon I've been at a Welcome Baby open house. I got to see a few follks that I haven't seen... Mon, 28 Mar 2011 02:35:45 EST Woo hoo! On my way down again! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4120781 Hi, SparkPeople!

Today was my weigh-in day, and I posted a two pound loss! This is significant because I've been rotating around rather than going downward over the last few weeks, so this feels like I am edging away from the weight I was stuck at. We'll see if I can continue the downward trend this coming week, but I'm glad in any case that I'm showing progress.

My exercise has been sort of interesting lately. Due to the rain, I haven't been walking outside as much, b... Sun, 27 Mar 2011 01:26:25 EST Hoping for a good weigh in tomorrow http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4118944 Happy weekend, all!

I had a fun day today with my mom at the SF Flower and Garden Show. I ate pretty much on plan today. When I weighed myself today, it appeared that I had lost a bit, but we'll see.

I will get a bit more exercise before bed tonight, as well. This weekend I should be able to get some extra exercise in as well.

Have a fantastic weekend! Sat, 26 Mar 2011 01:17:45 EST Nothing like a clean house http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4116613 What a day! I worked from home today, which was just as well, since it was rainy all day. I did my Wii Fit Plus body test and a half hour of Wii Walk it Out at lunchtime. I did a 20 minute Wii Zumba routine after work to switch things up a bit - I did better than I thought I would considering it was the first time I'd really played other than looking at a tutorial the first time I put it in.

The house cleaners came a bit before 1:00. WIth four of them working, they were done i... Thu, 24 Mar 2011 23:54:30 EST Cleaning folks come tomorrow http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4114334 Good evening to you all!

We're still have inclement weather out here in "sunny" California - it's supposed to rain/potentially hail overnight and into tomorrow. I wonder if the gardener comes when it's rainy out? We have tent canvas hanging up in the backyard from last weekend that will essentially get washed over and over again until Sunday through Tuesday when we are expecting a dry spell for a few days - long enough for the canvas to dry. The house cleaners are coming tomorro... Thu, 24 Mar 2011 02:35:37 EST Really good day all around http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4111535 Hi, SparkFriends!

Well, today was a good day. I was pretty productive at work, and I went for my walk and DIDN'T get rained on today, which was a marked improvement from yesterday. Once I got home, I made a nice recipe for pork tenderloin - with balsamic vinegar and Splenda brown sugar blend for the glaze.

Then after dinner I did an hour of Wii's Walk it Out and did my strength exercises, including a last minute workout for my Kiwi Biggest Loser team. I ate my prescri... Wed, 23 Mar 2011 00:02:59 EST Monday, Monday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4109109 Good evening to you all!

Today was a day to be (mostly) back in my routine. I kept busy at work, and I went for my walk at lunch - though I got rained on when I was halfway around the block the second time, so I was pretty wet when I was done. I also did 20 minutes on the Wii Walk it Out game this evening, and I'm about to do my strength stuff.

Snacks-wise, I did pretty well at work, but I've overdone it a bit at home. I made a good dinner with reasonable portion sizes... Tue, 22 Mar 2011 02:34:46 EST Lessons Learned http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4106300 Hi there!

As I mentioned yesterday, I was at a weekend event from Friday until this morning. I learned a few things. It's true that I've been to some events since I began SparkPeople last November, and I've been able to keep up with my points gathering and exercising in spite of being away from home. However, this weekend's event was different than the others, and it's taught me that I need to find ways to be better prepared.

At this weekend's type of event, the typi... Yesterday I did all my exercise in the morning so that I could get going to the event I was going to which is about 2 hours away. I picked up a friend an hour away, and then we drove to Woodland and stopped at the grocery store and picked up a ton of stuff.

We got to the site, and I set up all the kitchen stuff and made some bread and pasta for the folks I was feeding. Then with a friend's... Sun, 20 Mar 2011 02:52:17 EST Happy St. Patrick's Day! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4100060 Hi there!

Well, this was a pretty uneventful day, all things considered. I did my corned beef in the crock pot, so before work today I was cutting up potatoes and carrots to get it started. I worked from home today, so I got to be in my jammies almost all day. It was a pretty productive day work-wise.

My DH was planning to go up to the Woodland area tonight in advance of an event we have this weekend, so he had some corned beef before he left. The friend that's stayi... Fri, 18 Mar 2011 02:41:14 EST Just another day in California http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4097652 Hi there!

Today was reasonably uneventful, all in all. I didn't like my weigh-in for the Kiwi Biggest Loser team I'm on, but I tried not to let it get me down. I was good about my meals and snacking today, and I walked for an hour on my Walk It Out game. I've done a half hour of strength training this evening in addition to more walking, so I'm doing OK overall.

I had singing rehearsal for Easter this evening, which was lovely, and I got to chat with a few of my fri... Thu, 17 Mar 2011 02:17:58 EST Fun Fiddler on the Roof! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4095140 Good evening, all!

Well, it was another slightly festive day. Although I ate healthy snacks in the morning and ate reasonably when I went out for a birthday lunch today, I did have a slice of yummy carrot cake. There were carrots...and raisins... and walnuts - there are Omega-3s in walnuts, so they're healthy, right? 334

The plus was that I was so full I didn't snack the rest of the day. I probably should have had just salad for dinner, but we went out to d... Wed, 16 Mar 2011 02:32:06 EST Daylight Saving Time and sleep http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4092471 Hi there!

Wowza - I didn't help matters any with DST. I stayed up entirely too late Saturday night (got home at the new 4AM after playing games with friends). I had told myself I would try a yoga class that was happening at 10:30, so I set the alarm for 9:45 and actually made it over to the class. I enjoyed it - it was also nice to see the friend who was teaching it - who went to high school with me. I had her on my Facebook and had seen other fitness offerings she had but the ... Tue, 15 Mar 2011 02:47:03 EST It was a day of festive eating... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4087565 Hi, SparkFriends!

I realized that in yesterday's blog I neglected to mention that my great-aunt, who lives in the affected area of Japan, is fine. Thanks to those who expressed concern. Other relatives do not live near the affected area.

Today was a day of festive eating - had tea with friends this afternoon and am at a game party now. I do notice that Spark seems to have advanced the time already, as it's still 11:19 but it is showing points for the next day, so I'll... Sun, 13 Mar 2011 03:20:53 EST Fun with video games http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4085543 Well, this will be the last night's sleep before the time change tomorrow night. Hope that transition works well for all of you!

Today (other than that pesky thing called work) I had some fun with video games. At lunch I took my walk on the Wii instead of on the street, and I got about a half hour done. Then this evening, my housemate decided to set up his new XBox 360 with Kinect, so we went to the store to buy some games. He got a dance game and a sports game, and there was a... Sat, 12 Mar 2011 02:32:44 EST Wii Walk it Out and other musings... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4083204 Happy Thursday night to you all!

I had a great day overall. Work was uneventful, and I was reasonably controlled around food considering I was working from home so had lots available to me.

The new thing I did today was try the Walk it Out video game for the Wii. It tracks steps and approximate distance and calories burned, and you get points for walking to the beat of the soundtrack. You can use these points to develop the world and unlock other game features, like n... Fri, 11 Mar 2011 02:07:50 EST And another day down... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4080440 Hi there!

So I weighed in this morning for the beginning of a challenge team that I'm on. It showed a nice .6 pound loss since Saturday, my normal weigh-in day. I'm not planning on logging weight twice a week, so Wednesdays will be a nice check-in for how I'm doing and I may be less likely to weigh daily like I've been.

Work was mostly uneventful. I did get my walk in at work; I still need to do my walking at home. I got a little lazy when I got home and finished off... Thu, 10 Mar 2011 00:03:15 EST Walked a 5K today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4077782 Hi there!

Well, it was a pretty good day. I went to work this morning and was able to do a 1.6 mile walk at lunch today. For one of my challenges, some pre-work was to walk or run a 5K and then compare the time with how I do in 10 weeks when the challenge is over. I did it today in 52:10, just walking briskly with no running. I've been using the 5K your way walking program, and I'm on week 5 of 5 there too, so I was able to note that time on my training program as well as on a ... Tue, 8 Mar 2011 23:58:59 EST And I make my blog post before midnight for the win! (or at least for the points) :) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4075056 Well, what a day - I was pretty motivated with exercise today. Food-wise I did OK, though I wasn't at the bottom of my range today. I did, however, get a long walk in at work today (~2 miles) because I needed to go to my ATM, and the walk I have mapped in the Fitness Tracker that includes the ATM involves me walking to the ATM and then back around my office's block twice. I did some hip flexors in the restroom today, and then this evening I did two different videos, my five minute challenge... Tue, 8 Mar 2011 02:53:01 EST Exercise-o-matic http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4072009 Hello, my SparkFriends -

What a good day all around! I slept in this morning and then got up to do a bit of Sparking. My DH had to work today, and we have a friend staying with us at the moment. He'd mentioned he wanted to walk down to his office to see how long it would take him, so when he got up I asked if he was still planning to do that. That gave him the impetus to actually do it, so we ended up doing about a 57 minute walk all told. When we got back, I did a task I had... Mon, 7 Mar 2011 01:45:12 EST
