RUNDARCYRUN's SparkPeople Blog RUNDARCYRUN's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Day 7 & 8 - Getting Some Pool Therapy! Yesterday, I stayed so busy, I forgot to blog! All for good reason... I did some yard work out in the heat & FL humidity, and then took the kids to a neighbor’s house, who graciously opened up their pool to us. Sun & pool therapy, oh yeah!! We had a blast...

I also has a GREAT strength tra... Tue, 19 Jun 2018 21:30:26 EST Day 6: Balance I finally feel like I have found balance. Balance that works. After turning away from what I thought worked so well for me, what I thought was the only way I could lose weight - Low-Carb dieting, even whole foods at that - I feel like I have found balance, and a nutritious lifestyle I can stick to LONG TERM. I also feel like my body is so much more balanced, like I am fueling it properly. And YES, I am eating carbs AND losing weight! I am down to my lowest weight that I have been at over the ... Sun, 17 Jun 2018 21:14:18 EST Day 5: Cheat! Ok, so today my battle wasn’t as strong, and I did allow for a cheat! Well, maybe I should call it a reward day! I HAVE been making great progress, and I ran a 10K this morning... That calls for a reward, right? It was hot and humid!! But had a great time, and even won second in my AG. I love my running community here. Here are just a few of the awesome ladies I get to run with on a regular basis.
<img src=""... Sat, 16 Jun 2018 21:41:51 EST Battle Day 4: Staying Focused Today was a good day! Good on calorie intake (around 1500), water intake (around 100 oz), and my workout this morning was AWESOME! I also weighed myself, and am only 4 POUNDS from my goal! I also took measurements, and measured slimmer in my waiste and hips than I did last year at my healthiest point.

Workout:
Jamie Eason’s LiveFit Shoulders & Abs, 5 min warmup prior to weights, and 15 min on the elliptical after.

I really pushed the weights yesterday & today!! It’s like I have 2 sides - my healthy-beast side... focused, disciplined, on fire.... and then my “I’m-stuck-in-a-rut-eating-junk” side... eating whatever is on hand, not caring, slave to my cravings, and no control. My exercise tends to stay strong, but my nutrition seems to go easily out the window... 33 You can’t out run a bad diet!!!

I had lost all tha... Tue, 12 Jun 2018 19:14:49 EST Declaring All-out WAR!! It's hard to believe I started this SparkPage like 9 years ago! Not long after joining SP in 2009, I reached my goal weight, and had lost a total of just over 50 lbs. But my journey didn't end there... it is on-going.

I maintained my weight loss for some time, but the weight started creeping back on slowly. I have had to revamp, refocus, and re-motivate myself time and time again over the years... but I am still here, still working at it.

So, here I am, trying to get b... Tue, 12 Jun 2018 10:17:20 EST Why I've given up Keto & Low-Carb diets I never thought I'd say this, but ..... I am not a fan of low-carb diets. Keto is all the craze now, and I see everyone trying it. I even tried to jump on that band wagon too, but with little to no results, which caused me to do a little research of my own.

I've done so many different types of diets, and the one that seemed to work so amazingly for me after my twins were born in 2008 was a low-carb (LCHF), whole foods diet. The weight just seemed to come off! It took a while, but u... Mon, 11 Jun 2018 08:10:30 EST Getting the Family Fit! Recently, I signed up for a 5K at my son's school, and decided to "torture" all my family by signing everyone up for a 1-mile fun run! My younger son has special needs, and is the only one who goes to school. The other three are home-schooled, and since we don't do much for PE, I started thinking it might be time to get them into running or something active. 30

Our family o... I took measurements yesterday & looks like I'm down a little bit collectively, but weight was up 2 lbs, I think mainly due to eating poorly over the weekend. So here's my recap of the last few days:

Workouts:
Friday - yoga stretches
Saturday - 7-mile "short" long run, followed by FMF Challenge leg workout & 10x 100m sprints with short recovery in between.
Sunday - FMF Challenge workout upper body & back, with 4 rounds of plyo moves - jump lunges, ... Tue, 14 Mar 2017 08:56:21 EST Day 4 of 15-Day Fitness Challenge I'm BAAAAACK! Well, at least for now. I'm working on getting back into being fitter... if that's a word. Not that I have completely derailed, but I've just been lagging along lately. I've taken a long hiatus from SP due to life just being super busy. I have tracked my nutrition here & there, and have keep working out & running, but just have not been consistent. I've also packed on a few stubborn pounds that don't want to leave. Sit tight.

I've dropped off the SparkPeople grid for months... just way, way, way too busy with life. But that's not to say I stopped trying to be healthy. Although I let a lot of good nutrition habits slide, I continued to run & work out. I even got a local moms running group going!

Due to poor eating choices, I gained a few pounds. Wed, 11 Jul 2012 13:48:28 EST And My Body Fat % is..... (Drum roll, please) I am one of those people that use a scale religiously. I have used the scale as my goal guide for a long time....

I know, I know, there are a LOT of scale haters out there. BUT I do realize that it is just a number, I don't base my life's happiness on it, I don't get bent out of shape when it fluctuates up a little (for the most part 20 ), and I TOTALLY realize that body composition - muscle mass vs. fat - is far more important than just weight....

Which is wh...
