Now I've always enjoyed a muffin or pastry anytime of the day or night but this year I'm not doing it. I am not going to give in. I passed on the muffins and other sweet breads. I passed on the extra calories. I passed on the guilt trip I would of had. I passed on the sugar high then the sugar crash. I passed on all this.....
<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeople.com/nw/8/7/l8701061... Sat, 2 Feb 2013 18:08:35 EST 2013, you look good to me http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5182239 2013 is going to be the year I get myself to my goal weight.

I gained back 25 pounds in 2012 after I stopped exercising and starting eating everything in sight. My portions were out of control, I ate when I wasn't hungry, I finished my plate even after I was full. I'd finish my kids plates if they left anything. No food would go to waste. Chocolates, cookies, donuts, and cake were my weakness.

Why would I let that happen when I was so close to my goal? I don't know ... Mon, 31 Dec 2012 13:00:36 EST LA Marathon http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3051249 Sunday morning I was on my way to the marathon at 4am. I spent the night at a friends house who was also running and is a pacer for the running group LA Roadrunners. We parked at the finish line in Santa Monica and took one of the many shuttles to Dodger Stadium. I sat next to a man who was running his 51st marathon. Amazing. We arrived at the stadium at 6am and with over an hour and a half before the start of the race we hung out inside the stadium and used the restrooms and people wat... Sun, 28 Mar 2010 01:15:30 EST struggling again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2166450 I haven't completely fallen off the wagon (or have I?) but my feet have been dragging for a while now. I'm still running and working out but not nearly as often or with the intensity I know I should be. I haven't been logging my workouts or meals or even visiting SP for that matter. I've also gained 5 pounds, which is no surprise considering how I've been eating! I blame it all on my computer breaking down over 2 months ago but that sounds like an excuse, No Excuses!

I'm hoping... Sat, 20 Jun 2009 11:17:55 EST Great Run Today! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1860726 I ran 4.5 miles today. According to my Garmin, I ran the first 3.1 miles in 34 minutes, averaging 11:33 minute miles, which is 6 minutes faster than my 5k race I ran in October. I finished my run at 52 minutes with an average again of 11:33 minute miles. My fastest pace was 9:39, I never imagined I could run that fast and I don't know at what point in the run I was there but I'm so excited!

I'm a very slow runner and staying between 12 and 13 minute miles was as fast as I thou... Sun, 8 Mar 2009 16:00:32 EST Changed my name http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1732651 I started Sparkpeople as my08diet last year. But with the new year I thought that name wasn't going to work for me this year and for the coming years so I have changed it to run.or.rust.

After gaining some weight in 2008 largely due to slowing down on my fitness routine and my running(i.e. falling of the wagon). I felt like I was was going to rust if I didn't get moving again like I should be.

So my new mantra is Run or Rust! I don't want to rust so I'm going to run... Fri, 23 Jan 2009 19:15:56 EST Arizona Half Marathon http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1727681
My SIL had driven from CA to run the half with my son and me so we were off to the expo to sign her up. At the expo I met up with my Spark friend Susie, Hi Susie! It was very nice meeting her.

I had run this race last year completing the full and I had registered for the full this time around but my training didn't go as well as I wanted and decided to run the half along with my son and SIL. We drove to the st... Thu, 22 Jan 2009 10:21:08 EST My first 5K http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1519336 I ran my first 5k today. I had it on my to do list to run this 5k but didn't make my final decision until this morning. I had to take my son for the 10k so I decided I might as well run the 5k. I thought, how hard could it be? I've run a marathon and a half marathon, I could run a 5k, right? Well, it was hard!!! I went out too fast and was gasping for air after 100 yards. I was thinking I could run hard the whole way but no. I had to slow down to my regular pace. I kept running and finishe... Sat, 18 Oct 2008 18:10:53 EST 1/2 marathon with my sons http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1515557 It was the Long Beach 1/2 marathon on 10/12/08. This was the second 1/2 marathon I run with my son whose 14 and my 6 year old ran the 1 mile kids run, his first. With only two 4 mile runs as his training, my son ran the 1/2 in 2:02. He says he'll train a little better for his next 1/2 in January. I finished in 2:56, kept it under 3 hours but it was slower than my previous half by 12 minutes.

It was a nice course along the beach but very crowded, the half and full runners start ... Thu, 16 Oct 2008 11:20:41 EST 20 weeks to 26.2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1224002 I'm starting my marathon training on Sunday. My marathon is 20 weeks away so I'm going to start off slow, I haven't run for about 2 months since I've been concentrating on losing some weight before I started to train. I'm excited about this next race because both of my sisters in law are running it with me, it will be a first race for each of them. They figured if I could do it, they could do it. Yeah! I love that! My son will be running in the half and my baby (he's 6) will run the 1 m... Thu, 22 May 2008 16:43:19 EST post marathon blues http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1067824 All those weeks of training and it's over in a weekend, now what? I ran a 1/2 marathon, made my goal, but two days later I'm not feeling great. I feel like I should go to the gym but at the same time I want to go back to bed. I haven't looked into what my next race will be, that will get me excited for sure. I hope tomorrow brings a new attitude. Tue, 11 Mar 2008 12:05:57 EST Our 1/2 Marathon http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1065668 First of all, it was a beautiful morning, but, it started out a little rushed. We missed the last bus that takes the runners to the start line so I had to drive to the start line where, of course, there is no parking! The start was in 5 minutes so I dropped off my son and drove down the road to find a spot to leave my car. About 3/4 mile down the road I found a church, perfect!, I parked, preyed not to get towed and started running toward the start line. The race started without me and t... Mon, 10 Mar 2008 13:32:51 EST We ALL went http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1048186 I've been trying to get my DH to start getting healthy and exercise for a year now. It took 3 co-workers and a bet to loose weight in 2 months to get him to finally start. His weigh-in is tomorrow at work.

Well our 13 yr. old son and I are training for our 1/2 marathon next week and my son had his 10 mile long run today and I was going to run 5 since I did my long run on Friday. My DH thought 5 miles was doable and decided to join us along with our 5 yr. old on his bike. As ... Sun, 2 Mar 2008 14:41:13 EST time's up http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=958677 My big run was already 12 days ago and I new I would take a few days off any workouts to recuperate. Well I didn't count on catching a cold that my 5 year old brought home from kindergarten and I added a few more days to recuperate from that. It feels good to rest from all those previous weeks of training but I could feel my old ways slowly creeping back in, especially with what I've been eating, so my resting time's up. Although I'm not 100% from my cold, I did finally get back to the g... Fri, 25 Jan 2008 13:35:04 EST my 1st marathon http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=924181 20 weeks of training came down to this one day. Sunday, January 13. My first marathon. The beginning was so exciting, with music and food, it felt like a party and you could really feel the energy in the air. Then the time came to get in the line. The gun sounded and I was off. It was surprising to see how people would start taking off their sweaters and gloves and just throw them off to the side of the road and at the water stops there were cups all over the ground. I'm not a litter bu... Mon, 14 Jan 2008 13:57:53 EST
