Mon, 28 Mar 2016 22:10:59 EST One Year Anniversary of Becoming a Pescatarian... I have eaten meat free for one whole year. I have completed day 75 of my exercise streak. I have it labeled as "10,000 steps per day", but it means so much more to me. I wish I could re-title it.

After I lost my oldest son, Joey, I never told you guys, but, frankly, I didn't care. I would go to work or the store with no make-up on, un-matched, hair half done. That might not seem like much to some of you, but, for me, it really was. I ate whatever, didn't exercise, and was happy to make it through one more day. Everyda... Wed, 9 Mar 2016 20:44:00 EST And, just like that, I am back to running... Well, it wasn't quite that easy! I starting walking five miles per day, everyday, on Dec 25th. As I progressed, I mixed running with walking. Now, I run my 5 miles one day, walk 5 the next day. It feels really good to run again. I am not real fast right now, just taking my time, taking note of how my body feels as I go. I will start adding distance to my runs after I increase my speed. I am on track for the Philly Broad Street 10 miler May 1st. Mon, 7 Mar 2016 07:50:32 EST My Streak Continues...
Made it to Summerland Key! All settled in. Mon, 22 Feb 2016 09:02:03 EST Nice Day Today... Had a busy, but really nice day today. Started with church, then to a 90th birthday party. It was for my neighbor's Grannie. Grannie is in an assisted living home about one mile from my house. I stop in and see her with Roxy, and check on her more frequently when my friend is out of town. I loved watching her family today. Thu, 4 Feb 2016 09:06:55 EST St Lucia... My parents paid for me, hubby, 2 brothers, and their wife, fiancé to go to St Lucia. We have been having a great time. We went on a boat tour of the island. I am going to Maine - to the most Northern town in the US - Limestone - for my grandmother's memorial. Hubby has to work so I am on my own! After surfing the computer for hours and hours, I settled on an itinerary that has me pretty excited! It is a 12 1/2 hour drive and since I can go and do what I want, I broke the drive up nicely. I booked a beautiful bed and breakfast in Camden, ME (everyone is telling me it is a "must see" Coastal town). I am going... Sun, 28 Jun 2015 22:36:50 EST Therapy and Inspiration... Yesterday, when I went to my therapist, we dove into the last couple years of my son's life. I told her I want to get to the point where I am thinking about the rest - good parts of his life - not the last two tragic years. She had me hold something in each hand that was hooked up to a machine. It pulsated back and forth. We talked about something I remembered - Joey and I at a sushi restaurant and him not eating much, etc. We discussed the details, then I had to close my eyes and she sta... I seemed to always feel "yucky" especially after I ate. I thought about this a lot while I was in Jamaica. I was feeling "down" and noticed that I wasn't caring at all about myself - going out without make-up, eating whatever, not really exercising. I guess you could say I was really feeling down in the dumps.

I was once again thinking about all this after I got seated on the plane for the flight home...
That's when I observed an extremely heavy set woman boarding the pla... It's been almost 7 weeks since my son passed away. Last week I started thinking about how I felt...sick to my stomach as soon as waking up and after eating anything -- so, I could not eat breakfast. By night time I was hungry, it was the holidays, so I ate lots of junk. I felt like a cannonball had been shot through my middle. The vet staff said she cried a lot and loudly when she woke up :(. I wish they hadn't told me. She was heavily sedated and also given Benadryl so she was out of it all day Thursday.
