As I ride home from Vermont, I find myself having some time
to share my experience at Kripalu.

I have been receiving their catalogs for over ten years. This visit has long been a dream of mine. When I found out I would be traveling to Maine by myself for my Grandmother's memorial, I quickly figured a Kripalu visit into my driving route. It is located in Stockbridge, Mass.

... Mon, 20 Jul 2015 19:52:01 EST Eat, Pray, Love... I have finished planning my trip! I am going to Maine - to the most Northern town in the US - Limestone - for my grandmother's memorial. Hubby has to work so I am on my own! After surfing the computer for hours and hours, I settled on an itinerary that has me pretty excited! It is a 12 1/2 hour drive and since I can go and do what I want, I broke the drive up nicely. I booked a beautiful bed and breakfast in Camden, ME (everyone is telling me it is a "must see" Coastal town). I am going... Sun, 28 Jun 2015 22:36:50 EST Therapy and Inspiration... Yesterday, when I went to my therapist, we dove into the last couple years of my son's life. I told her I want to get to the point where I am thinking about the rest - good parts of his life - not the last two tragic years. She had me hold something in each hand that was hooked up to a machine. It pulsated back and forth. We talked about something I remembered - Joey and I at a sushi restaurant and him not eating much, etc. We discussed the details, then I had to close my eyes and she sta... Wed, 29 Apr 2015 21:10:59 EST The Perils of the 9" Plate... Last week and this week, for the 5% challenge, we get points for using a 9" plate. Last week I didn't eat a lot during my meals on vacation, but was not supplied a 9" plate - so I marked "0" for points.

This week I am home, so it is easy to use one.

Tonight's supper was interesting. I baked salmon, coated in grey poupon and honey tossed in panko and crushed pecans. Yum - one of my favorite dinners. I also baked 1/4 cup sweet potatoes - from schwans - and 2 cups of ... Mon, 20 Apr 2015 21:30:39 EST What Are You Doing? This past weekend was a lot harder on me than I thought it was going to be.
I planned on running, I ended up "running" in the form of errands Saturday.
I decided it was too windy to run -- an excuse. Hubby and I went out to dinner with neighbors. On the way there, we called my parents to say "hi". Dad tells me he has B-Cell Lymphoma. I seemed to always feel "yucky" especially after I ate. I thought about this a lot while I was in Jamaica. I was feeling "down" and noticed that I wasn't caring at all about myself - going out without make-up, eating whatever, not really exercising. I guess you could say I was really feeling down in the dumps.

I was once again thinking about all this after I got seated on the plane for the flight home...
That's when I observed an extremely heavy set woman boarding the pla... Every day I grab one and take it to work for lunch.
This week I decided to make chicken noodle soup - I added broccoli, cauliflower, habanero, and cayenne to the main ingredients. I LOVE spice in my soup. I test tasted it tonight and it was delicious! I am looking forward to having it for lunch this week! It's been almost 7 weeks since my son passed away. Last week I started thinking about how I felt...sick to my stomach as soon as waking up and after eating anything -- so, I could not eat breakfast. By night time I was hungry, it was the holidays, so I ate lots of junk. I felt like a cannonball had been shot through my middle. My upper back constantly ached, it slowly moved to my lower back, my hearing was all "foggy" and, in fact, I felt like I was in a constant fog. And there is the su... We wanted it to be a celebration of his life. Over 300 people came. It was held in a beautiful catholic chapel. My son passed away yesterday from anorexia. His heart stopped suddenly. He weighed 110 pounds. I have experienced such a wave of emotion. I go from shocked, to crying, to "ok", then back to shocked. Last night my husband and I moved from couch to couch and got maybe, 1 hour of sleep.

We have awesome friends. They immediately came over and sat with us. Sun, 16 Nov 2014 20:07:08 EST Exciting Week Coming Up... My husband and I are flying out to see our younger son graduate from Boot Camp this week. He called tonight and sounds relieved that he is done. A lot didn't finish. 10 quit after the first week. This stunned my Navy vet husband. No one was allowed to quit when he served. My son said another 35 dropped off along the way and others need to repeat.
I had no doubt my son would complete it. He exercises regularly and I knew mature enough to handle it (and know when to keep his mouth s... Sun, 9 Nov 2014 21:16:14 EST Update On Roxy... I have to apologize. I wrote an update on Roxy's surgery and must not have saved it correctly - just realized it didn't go through!

Roxy is healing nicely. The vet staff said she cried a lot and loudly when she woke up :(. I wish they hadn't told me. She was heavily sedated and also given Benadryl so she was out of it all day Thursday. I held her at work. She hates the cone - I think that's why she was crying so much. I took it off Thursday night and have been stuck to her li... Sat, 8 Nov 2014 12:36:33 EST Prayers Needed for Roxy... Hi guys! Please say some prayers for Roxy. She has a lump on her paw - vet isn't sure if a splinter, etc. is in it or if it is a Mast Cell Tumor :( She has been on antibiotic and inflamatories for 1 1/2 weeks and it hasn't gone down. An xray won't show splinters, ingrown hair, etc so I have opted to get it removed tomorrow. If it is cancer, she is going to lose a couple toes :(

We walk outside everyday, so I am really hoping it's something that got stuck as she was walking out the...
