Well I am not very good at keeping in touch lately. My apologies. It has been rather stressful around here lately. My father in law continues to battle pancreatic cancer. He has outlived their initial prognosis and for that we praise the Lord!! The chemo is difficult for him and difficult for my husband to watch his dad be so ill.
Our son is home for a two week leave before deploying to Afghanistan for his second tour. this in itself is stressful, but he and his wife are having marit... Fri, 23 Aug 2013 07:35:06 EST Hello everyone!! I have missed you all terribly!!! My life has been crazy...where to start...

I worked at the hospital from Jan 2nd to June 10th, still working all shifts ect...very crazy schedule. I loved the hospital and tried to get trained as much as possible but the bottom line was they weren't hiring me full I had gotten a second job at a local nursing home and juggled both jobs for a few weeks. That was exhausting!! No days off...both jobs at minimum wage. Then I got a phone call ... Mon, 8 Jul 2013 13:02:20 EST look at the positive I know I need to start focusing on the positive. We both have jobs, that is positive. I have been able to maintain my weight even with the crazy schedule, positive. Every day is different, I need to make that a positive!!

Well I sort of got my wish. I start training on days next week. but it is so I can work either days or afternoon shift. Where ever I am needed, looking at this as a positive. Even if it does mean there are 6 different shift times to deal with now. Each sh... Thu, 7 Feb 2013 09:22:50 EST ready over!! I am ready to start the new Year over. On the 2nd of January I started my new job. Good right? Well on the 3rd I had my routine yearly exam. Where they found a lump in my right breast. Did an immediate ultra sound and scheduled me for a diagnostic mammogram the following day. And made an appointment with a surgeon!! Yep, I was scared I admit it. But we prayed and kept it to ourselves apart from two friends who were praying with us. After the lovely hour long mammogram smashing and a b... Mon, 21 Jan 2013 15:23:12 EST Well then... So the New Year has started with a bang around here. New job started on the 2nd. Had the stomach flu so that was fun. Halfway thru the shift I got an emergency call from my DIL saying Kevyn was in the Er vomiting blood...turned out to be a horrid virus. He is fine and I am adjusting to the job. It is taking some getting used to working 2nd shift. But since hubby is on it too it helps. We are finally figuring out how to get our walk in each day. We desperately need our walks, emotionall... Wed, 9 Jan 2013 19:04:45 EST Before and After pics

I know I haven't really done a before and after, and while browsing on facebook the other day I came across this and was shocked at how much we both have changed in two years!! The before shot was taken in South Carolina after Kevyn's boot graduation 12/2010. The after is our trip to Cali last June, 2012.

Wed, 19 Dec 2012 09:01:45 EST new beginnings Well it looks like 2013 will be totally different for my family. Karyn will be in Australia for her adventure. Kalyn starts college classes, she is very excited. And I will have begun a new career. A new shift for both hubby and I. Thankfully the same shift!! Afternoon shift will work wonderfully with our fitness routines because we won't have to worry about losing daylight!! 244

Many have new job is in housekeeping at a local hospital. I love working in... Thu, 13 Dec 2012 08:39:24 EST Birthdays Hubby and I have birthdays 3 days apart so we usually celebrate together. This year we went to Cleveland to a local brewery. Got a fascinating tour and ate in the marvelous restaurant. We went with his sisters and their hubbies. We all live within 10 minutes of each other but rarely get together. We are trying to change that. We all enjoyed it 297

less than 2 weeks from Karyn going to Australia. We have Skyped with the host family twice now. They are very sweet, w... Tue, 11 Dec 2012 07:31:58 EST Changes Well things are changing. I have had a lot of changes in my life time. Some good, some bad. But change is inevitable. From my husbands job shift, to perhaps a job change for me. To my daughter going to Australia to live with a host family I have never say the least change can be unsettling.

But I have chosen to focus on what has not changed. I have a home to live in. My husband has a job. My daughter is not afraid to have new adventures. And I always have my spark bud... Sun, 2 Dec 2012 08:59:10 EST wow... Well our Thanksgiving weekend was lovely on one hand...we enjoyed our hike ect. I did miss my brother though. I never get to see him any more. We had our nephew for the weekend. Took him on a 3 hour train ride. He has loved trains ever since he could walk. We really enjoyed it. That little man makes me laugh so much. Sorely needed indeed!!

Our daughter Karyn has thrown us a bit of a curve. She most likely will fly out Christmas Eve for Australia. Yep, I said Australia. Sh... Mon, 26 Nov 2012 11:59:13 EST The weekend update It was a wonderful weekend. Started Saturday out with coffee and a movie with my baby sister. We saw Lincoln. AMAZING!!! Best movie I have seen in a long time. We just enjoyed each others company. We live 10 minutes away from each other but her kids are younger and involved in a lot of activities. So we are trying very hard to make time each month for each other!! 220

Terry and I walked 5 miles Sat evening 311 and had a relaxing evening home after th... Sun, 18 Nov 2012 17:17:19 EST rainy Monday's Well I am a bit strange, I admit it. I love snow, I love rainy days. I would rather walk in 30 degree weather than 80 degree. The list goes on 211 So on this rainy Monday the only thing I would do differently is curl up on the couch with a good book and a cup of coffee 106 But since I live in reality I will simply have to settle for the coffee part and dream of the book later. Napping children always seem to know when you sit down with a book 40
... Mon, 12 Nov 2012 11:58:23 EST sigh well I am trying not to panic in many areas. The election has me kind of down to be honest. We are barely making it as it is and I have a feeling the economy is just going to get worse. I really am stuck with my job situation. Not enough babysitting kids to make ends meet...but have been unable to find another job. Even a part time 2nd job. And 2 of my dads work at a plant that is going to lay off after the 1st of the year. Praying neither one of them get laid off!! That would leave me ... Fri, 9 Nov 2012 09:39:42 EST October stress! Wow that month went by like a whirlwind!! It ended on a very stressful note for me. This has been one of the longest weeks for me...very fussy baby making the days stressful. And to top work stress off the weather did not cooperate for a couple days to get outside and walk off that stress. Sorry but doing videos just isn't the same. I know I am moving and it is better than nothing. And I love Coach Nicole' s videos, but nothing beats fresh air and a power walk or long bike ride!! 31... Fri, 2 Nov 2012 13:31:01 EST The stuff dreams are made of:) Well I had the most amazing weekend. Two years ago I discovered an opera singer named Alfie Boe. He is from the UK...he was debuting in musical theater as Jean Valjean in the 25th anniversary of Les Miserables. When he sang Bring Him Home I cried. He not only has a beautiful voice but is a beautiful person. I have listened to everything I could get my hands on...become prolific in british tv and radio programmes:) You get the picture...

So when I learned he was doing a whirlw... Mon, 22 Oct 2012 21:25:48 EST perspective well once again my weekend didn't go as planned. Friday night as I was putting groceries away I hear the sound of running water. Running down the wall into my kitchen cupboards. Water line break:( Sooooo I can move pretty fast when I need all the dry goods out before they got wet!! Waited until today at noon for it to be repaired and have running water again (not down the walls!!) But at least we didn't lose anything major and no damage from the water because we were home. Imag... Sun, 14 Oct 2012 17:30:38 EST Successful weekend:) The past 2 weeks have been rough. I had a pretty bad gall bladder attack/flair up. Has really made me scale back my workouts. But we had a good weekend!! Went for a bike ride Saturday, went 14.5 miles. Shorter than we had been riding. But I felt good about it. It was tough the first 7 miles...straight into 15 mile an hour winds!! But boy was it a beautiful day!! A 10 point buck jumped out in front of us and just meandered along for about half a mile. Boy was he gorgeous!! Then we ca... Mon, 8 Oct 2012 09:03:46 EST plan B for the weekend Well this weekend did not go as planned. It started out Friday night 15 minutes after my kiddos got picked up. Gall bladder attack. UGH!!! Haven't had one in quite sometime. So it took me off guard. I spent Friday evening lying on my bed in had subsided by morning but I still felt like crap 24 So I laid low for the better part of the day. In the afternoon we went for a walk. Half our normal distance in the same time...but at least I was moving. Today I am feel... Sun, 30 Sep 2012 17:08:45 EST Ride #2 a success Well to be honest I was more nervous about riding this Saturday than the previous. We rode 24 miles with only a half hour break at the halfway point. The second half of the ride was tough. A very strong headwind the whole way back (12 miles) But I did it, and my recovery time was faster. Even my bottom wasn't as sore after this ride. We got good saddles, but I am also learning how to sit on the bike. Believe it or not it really makes a difference!! Really works the core to sit properl... Mon, 24 Sep 2012 10:20:04 EST Bike ride training begins Well yesterday we started training for our 120 mile bike ride. We thought we were riding 20 miles...turned out to be 27!! We were tired the last 2-3 miles but I was pleased with my endurance overall. Terry took a tumble, thankfully into a grassy area. No broken body or bike parts 244 Did finally convince him that we need helmets and it was a productive tumble 211

Our plan is to take these rides on the weekends...lengthening the distance gra... Sun, 16 Sep 2012 18:32:52 EST New goals Well we are at the end of a very busy summer filled with deadlines and goals to meet. Both personally and as a family. So instead of setting back and 'relaxing' it is time to set new goals. Otherwise boredom and an undisciplined life are to follow. And I have learned in this empty nest of mine that goals and keeping my mind and body busy are essential to this transition time in my life. Add to it that I am now closer to the 50 side of life than the 40...hormones are trying to sabotage me!... Wed, 12 Sep 2012 10:03:05 EST Summer officially survived...I think... Well what started as a whirlwind ended as a whirlwind. From May to September we had Karyn graduate from college. Kevyn come back from deployment to Afghanistan. Visited Kevyn and Kara in Cali. Tue, 21 Aug 2012 10:06:09 EST mind of I whine? UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I am doing well in my nutrition and fitness minutes. Of course it is easy to stay within calories when there isn't any blessed food in the house!! By that I mean there is enough food in the house for su... Wed, 15 Aug 2012 15:13:04 EST stressers well we all have stressers...mine tend to make me want to eat the whole house!! 18 This past week has been full of stressers. The job Terry had applied for fell thru. I had tried not to get my hopes up, but confess I had and was highly disappointed when he didn't get it. It would have not only been a significant pay increase but also would have allowed us to move out of this town. Something I have wanted for a very long time. But instead of wallowing in chocolate ice cream we ... Tue, 7 Aug 2012 09:01:38 EST challenging well as most of you know I babysit in my home for a living. I keep thinking when this set goes to pre school I will quit and go back to school. But finances usually dictate otherwise and I get the phone calls. So here I am with two infants...just a day apart in age. Not quite 3 months old. 170 and wow is it challenging. Mon, 2 Jul 2012 08:09:10 EST well that was fun...NOT!!! Well Friday night we got some much needed rain along with severe storms. We lost power for 29 1/2 hours...had to cut down a tree that split and was on our garage. So to say it was an eventful weekend is an understatement. No internet until just a little while ago so haven't done much on SP. But on the freezer is defrosted and I got a whale of a workout dragging the branches from the tree to the curb!! As I type he is on a plane out of there!! Overwhelming joy and relief flooded me. He called to wish me a happy mother's day. He stood in line for a few hours to get to a phone to call me. Mon, 7 May 2012 15:41:31 EST taxing my patience Well thank you to all who have been praying for me during this bout with shingles. It has truly proved to be a test for my patience. And I am not sure I am passing the test 39 The pain from the actual 'rash' is subsiding so sitting is an option again...the only way I could sit for almost two weeks was on ice packs. The nerve and muscle pain is now the challenge. Just when I think I am doing better and try to do any sort of exercise the leg gets very painful. So I am trying lit... Tue, 1 May 2012 10:15:43 EST ever wonder why? Well as I have tried to get back to a consistent routine I have been 'pushing through' feeling exhausted and just not feeling good. I figured with my schedule who wouldn't be tired. Then a week ago a rash popped up in a most inconvenient place...upper thigh and buttock area. Again, I 'pushed through' walking ect. Long story short I got tired of dealing with it and went to a clinic last night. Took her all of 2 seconds to tell me it was shingles. And I should rest!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! yeah t... Wed, 25 Apr 2012 07:47:29 EST consistency... Well the past couple weeks a have struggled with being consistent...between the lovely root canal and Terry being gone. Plus I worked a new record...28 hour shift. that will mess with your schedule 56

I am happy to say I am getting back on track...and am learning to "let go" of having to do everything.
