Wed, 3 Oct 2012 23:54:26 EST Hello October 2012 Goals!! This is a day early, but I figure why not get the focuses and goals out before October 1st turns into October 10th. I normally like to do a list categorized into weight, fitness, nutrition, and personal goals, but this time I'm doing it different. Instead of categories and point blank goals, they're going to be focuses and then goals based on what I'm focusing on for this month. Here it goes:

This month I'll focus on:

Writing down everything I eat. 249 <B... Sun, 30 Sep 2012 19:51:25 EST It's Been Months, but I'm Back Again! I didn't realize how long it's been since my last blog...or my last sign in to sparkpeople. Yikes! So I've gotten back on track and gotten off track...and back on. I did start this Eat Stop Eat program which incorporates fasting and it works for me. The weight loss is slow, but it's happening. I do need to get myself in check with my eating habits because they're horrible. I'm embarrassed to say what they entail. I know I just need to take it baby steps at a time right now and not over... Mon, 7 May 2012 20:30:49 EST A Wake Up Call I started a new job a little over a month ago and love it. So now it's time to get back into the swing of things...

I noticed the scale creeping up into the 180's which is the highest I've ever been. I keep saying that I'll lose it and it will go back down. Then over the weekend this picture was taken:

That's me on the left. I didn't realize how big I've gotten. Sat, 3 Mar 2012 18:37:25 EST Winded! I did not get much done today because of the tornadoes that were hitting all around this area. I'm very happy that I am safe and no damage was done to my place or car. I'm happy to hear that all my friends are safe too. One of them might have some dents and scratches on her car from hail, but nothing major thank goodness. I was hoping to get a workout in, but didn't. I had my pillows laying on the stairway ready for cover in case a storm swept through here. Tonight I'm taking it easy, w... Fri, 2 Mar 2012 21:18:10 EST March 2012 Goals and February Recap!! Thu, 1 Mar 2012 11:27:35 EST Still Searching... I finally heard back regarding the last interview I had a few weeks ago. It was a no. I did shed a few tears 46 , but only a few...barely tears there. I've found a couple of new jobs to apply to and did that today. I will keep applying and keep following up on jobs until I find something. 29 This is a determined face and I'm determined.

I do realize that the economy is rough out there...I mean really rough. I'm sure others are in the same position as me.... Sun, 5 Feb 2012 14:06:53 EST Wrap Up and Super Bowl Tonight I got to thinking about some things and it made me realize that I need to start doing my weekly goal list on here. I do have a calender/planner where I make a daily check list, but seeing it in a weekly fashion may help me accomplish more. I do get lazy on some things such as chores (not workouts) and will put it off until tomorrow...and the next day. I'll start doing my weekly blog goals tomorrow.

Tonight I was craving and wanting some good chocolate cake with frosting,... Sun, 5 Feb 2012 00:00:26 EST On the Edge I have had one interview so far this year. I'm still waiting to hear this point I consider no news as good news. I feel like I'm on the edge of my seat, but also kind of blah about it too. These mixed feelings about the job search is weird and even I don't understand them. 24 The company with whom I had my interview is a large company, big on participating in the local community, and the industry is very stable and up and coming. This would be something differen... Thu, 2 Feb 2012 09:59:47 EST February 2012 Goals and January Recap I actually did well for the month of January, not my best but well. I did not meet all of my goals, but I did come close to meeting them. There were a few days where I was sick and spent most of my time sleeping. 102 Here is a recap of January goals:

Weight
1) Lose 8 lbs. - I lost 4 pounds, so met this halfway
2) lose 2 inches total. - I lost a total of 3 inches.

Nutrition
1) Complete phase 1 of South Beach plan. - I did this for one week a... Wed, 1 Feb 2012 14:47:48 EST Lucky Number 13 Today is Friday the 13th...I didn't realize this until one of my friends pointed it out. 241 People normally view the number 13 as unlucky, but I'd like to think it's my lucky number.

I had an awesome black tank that said lucky 13 and had a jersey with the number 13, and now I have an interview next week thanks to today. 211 I had a chill day along with visiting the doggies and kitties at the shelter.

I haven't been as good with my eating this... Fri, 13 Jan 2012 18:51:00 EST Starting Week 2 Yesterday was my first week and the weigh in was at 171.6, but don't record the number until Wed. morning. I did have a couple of carby dishes during the weekend which contributed to this number, but it is lower than where I started. 30 I met with some friends last night at Olive Garden and had the chicken fettucine alfredo, but filled up on the salad and chicken before the pasta. I had some of the pasta today for lunch, but mixed it in with the rest of my spaghetti squash and ... Mon, 9 Jan 2012 17:22:34 EST Spreading the Spark!! I thought about starting a weight loss/healthy eating support group at the church I go to. Well, today I made the announcement and there were some people that are interested. I'm very excited because this is a great way to spread the spark. Of course I'll let them know about sparkpeople and encourage them to check it out 211 , but there are some people there who may not have computer access. The first meeting is next Sunday after church and I'm looking forward to seeing people r... Sun, 8 Jan 2012 17:44:22 EST Almost Finished Week 1 This is my 5th day on week 1 of South Beach modified. I'm very happy with the results so far, just need to keep it up. This weekend will be a splurge on one meal, but still going to keep it in moderation. Next week I'll incorporate good carbs slowly and simply take note of what type of food really triggers weight gain for me. I know that calories in versus calories out works is the simple math that works, but we all have different body chemistry and different foods will affect our progres... Fri, 6 Jan 2012 11:39:16 EST Day 3 of Modified Low Carb Low Sugar Diet I started a modified version of Phase 1 of the South Beach Diet earlier this week. I know most of you would say that it's not healthy and normally I would say the same, but the low carb part is just for this week. Next week I'll incorporate good, healthy carbs into my diet slowly. This would be things like sweet potatoes, brown rice, quick oats, and whole wheat tortillas. I've done phase 1 of South Beach in the past and it helped me lose the weight. I actually kept it off for a while. ... Wed, 4 Jan 2012 17:04:32 EST January 2012 Goals!!! I'm starting off the new year with my monthly goals. Sun, 1 Jan 2012 17:18:16 EST 2012!!!! Last year I had a list of 101 things to accomplish in 2011. I didn't get everything done, but was pleased with what I did accomplish. Here's my list for 2012. Sat, 31 Dec 2011 17:46:41 EST Insecurities... I need to vent...
Not sure where to start, so I'll just give a brief overview of what is going on. I have a friend who happens to be a guy (I have several of those as well as girlfriends) and he is now with this girl and have been together since August. She's pregnant and I'm happy for them. I'm not happy with the fact that she felt the need to email me basically saying that it's disrespectful to call him or email him. Umm...I wanted to say congratulations and see if both of them wan... Thu, 15 Dec 2011 12:07:41 EST Have Not Had Some Good Days I'll come right out and say it...I'm depressed. I felt better this morning due to the small bike ride and taking donated food to the food bank, but now I'm in tears. I think it's because my mom was talking about what we may need to do by end of January next year and I couldn't handle it.

I am concerned about the finances, but I also miss having that purpose. I know I have a purpose still, but it's the whole not knowing what and when. Last week I was fine, I didn't feel depres... Sat, 19 Nov 2011 11:59:31 EST I Want Candy!!! I know this is not a usual title for most of the blogs here, but I do want candy...the candy manufacturing job is what I want. I'm back on the job market and came across a really cool job that's in this area and has several "features" that I was looking for:
1) Chance to climb up in company - check
2) Leadership position - check
3) Something I enjoy - recently got into candy making so check
4) In the area - check
5) Help my career - check

This would be so ... Sun, 13 Nov 2011 15:04:46 EST Rough Road Ahead I was looking forward to the weekend and accomplishing the goals I set for myself at my job. Well, the economy sucks right now and I was let go from the now I'm out of a job and looking yet again. It's weird because when it happened I knew that I would be okay. Of course these things never happen at a convenient time...close to Thanksgiving and Christmas. It may be a few months before I'll find a full time position again because of the holiday months and then the dry spell th... Mon, 7 Nov 2011 20:17:49 EST Almost the Weekend!! Today I was hoping to get in some sort of workout, but I'm still sick and coughing. I am getting better though. I have to go down to the office tomorrow to discuss sales numbers. Mine haven't been good for October, but I'm hoping things will be better this month. I do have one new opportunity in store for this month (1 down, 5 more to go) and have a few others interested. So maybe I will make my personal goal. 211

This weekend I need to get my office straightened u... Thu, 3 Nov 2011 18:17:27 EST Today So Far... Today hasn't been very productive at all. I'm still trying to get over this awful cold/sinus congestion crap that hit me last week. I haven't done a good, hard workout in a week and it's driving me insane. Now I'm hooked on that exercise high from working my butt off. Oh well, hopefully soon I will be well enough to really kick it.

Today I did have a slice of mega veggie pizza which had tons of veggies: brocolli, tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, artichokes, banana peppers, tofu, c... Tue, 1 Nov 2011 10:15:56 EST Happy Halloween: Chocolate Makes Me Happy! Ever since I landed a new job I feel refreshed, less stressed, and enjoy every minute of it. There is something that I do miss that my new job doesn't fulfill...the creativity satisfaction from working in a lab. I do miss the days of making new products, monitoring temperatures, and basically doing cookbook chemistry. Giving up this part of the job was well worth it though for the traveling, interaction with different people, and still using my skills to help others with my new job...but I... Mon, 31 Oct 2011 16:18:28 EST Munchies Monster Last night I finished tallying up my calories and what I ate for the day. I was fairly pleased because I stayed in my range and met all the other nutrient requirements as well. Then I had some serious munchies that night. Yikes!! I knew what that usually meant for me...binging on some chips, ice cream, cheez its, or cookies. Well, I didn't have any of those...but I did have one of those 100 calorie popcorn bags. I did go over a little, but not as bad if I had reached for something else.... Wed, 26 Oct 2011 18:43:54 EST I'm Back...Again I didn't realize that the last blog I did was back in July. I could only imagine how long it's been since I've contacted anyone on here. There are sparkfriends who have contacted me, but I felt like I was "too busy" with my new job. There were a lot of changes that took place, and as a result from not tracking on sparkpeople was a small weight gain. So now I'm back, with a new username, new goals, and making SP a higher priority than before. Surely I can take 5-10 minutes to track my nut... Tue, 19 Jul 2011 10:38:34 EST The Fierceness of June I will say that I've been better this month compared to last month, but still need to improve though. Last week was my first week on my new job which consisted of training and this week I jumped right into it. I do notice that while I've been behind the wheel quite a bit for the job, I've also been walking around a lot for it too. My schedule is fairly flexible that I'm able to fit in a workout no matter what (goodbye excuses). I spent the night on the road, but that did not stop me...I d... Thu, 2 Jun 2011 10:00:32 EST Too Much Too Soon? It seems like several changes are taking place all at once:

1) Starting new job.
2) Newer car (mine was on it's last life).
3) Moving to a different apartment.

These are major things that are all taking place within a month. Wow!!!! I'm very surprised my head has not exploded with the major and minor things too:

1) Shop for car insurance for newer car.
2) Shop around for apartments.
3) Clean out room.
4) Study new job material.
... Sun, 29 May 2011 10:23:58 EST What to Do? It looks like I may have a little dilemna coming up soon. It's actually a good one, but still requires a decision...

Tomorrow morning is my third step in the interview process for a job prospect. If all goes well then I would meet the team Tuesday where they would make a decision quickly. This all started this past Friday and is moving very quickly as you can see. I know I would enjoy what the job entails, but the benefits are not as good as a couple of other prospects that I'm... Thu, 12 May 2011 11:50:08 EST A Better Week Plus the List Okay, I know I ranted about the whole living situation, but I've been shopping around for another apartment and have found quite a few that would be in my budget. My current landlord is allowing us to pay month to month rent now (original lease ends mid May 2011) so this allows some flexibility as to when I can move into a new place. I'm much happier now that I have these options and looking forward to living on my own again. I can keep all the groceries I want since I'll be the only one e... Mon, 9 May 2011 14:19:49 EST Friday Venting...But Good at the End Sorry, but to warn you guys this is a venting blog for me:

One of my biggest pet peeves are people who mooch off others. Well, that's kind of my roommate in a nutshell. To give you a brief history we moved in together back in May 2010 when she had a full time job. Her job was temporary and she was hoping to get hired on full time with benefits and everything. Well, the unfortunate came around June 2010 for her and she was basically laid off. She was job searching but could onl... Fri, 6 May 2011 15:41:35 EST !Cinco de Mayo! Today is Cinco de Mayo which means cheaper dinners, tacos, Coronas and margaritas than normal. 181 Wait, that means 230 ahead. Especially those tortilla chips and salsa...those are easy to eat too many of. 24 I could stay home, be a hermit and just wish that I could be out with my friends. 39 Or I could just have a plan of action for tonight's food and festivities. 334 I think I'll go with the second choice. 189 My ... Thu, 5 May 2011 14:19:06 EST And A Very Merry Hump Day to You! So far I've been doing okay with being back on track. I'm so glad that I'm tracking my food again because it helped me realized how much I've been eating and where I can cut back. I'm proud to say that I have eaten breakfast at home for 3 days this week (includes Sunday). I already had my once a week breakfast out yesterday, but that's it for the rest of this week. I'm also proud that I've packed my lunch for 3 days in a row. Last week I packed my lunch 4 days out of 5, but hey that's st... Wed, 4 May 2011 10:18:21 EST Insert Clever Title Here So I'm really not sure what to blog about right now. It's pretty yucky outside, but I'm so grateful that the slew of tornadoes are pretty much over for a while. I never realized how lucky I am that:
a) I'm alive
b) my place didn't get damaged
c) I was not without power for long
d) all my friends are just as lucky as far as a) goes

There are so many people that had their homes and things destroyed. Mon, 2 May 2011 11:16:00 EST Reboot... I weighed myself today and can't say I'm surprised by what the scale said...167.2. 39 I knew to expect a higher weight based on my lack of good habits, both eating and working out, the past couple of months. 40 So here I am down on the ground ready to get back up again. I'm determined and do not give up easily. 101

I got back in the bad habit of eating out for breakfast or grabbing unhealthy breakfast to go almost every morning. 2 ... Mon, 2 May 2011 10:30:37 EST April 2011 Goals I haven't been sparking all that much lately. I could use the excuse well I had on-site interviews and a presentation to put together, but what happens when the next job I have involves making presentations and some travel? I can't use that excuse everytime. I have been way off track...I haven't been tracking my workouts, have not been tracking what I eat, and eating out way too much. So now it's time to get back on the right track. Sure I could say that I have a phone interview today an... Mon, 7 Mar 2011 13:03:12 EST March 2011 Goals and Where I've Been So I have not been sparking, blogging, or even tracking for the past couple of weeks...but I swear that I have a good excuse. I've been doing research on possible areas to live in as in areas where I have job interviews lined up (Burlington, VT and Bridgewater, NJ). I've been talking to recruiters and employers plus trying to do as much research about the companies and getting prepared for the interview. My energy was low because of the emotional and mental stress from the past month. In ... Fri, 4 Mar 2011 09:34:34 EST Feels Surreal I hope I spelled that correctly.

I've had phone interviews for three weeks in a row. Last week I had two with two different companies in two different areas. Both want to fly me up there for an on-site interview. 334 One is in Burlington, VT and the other is in Bridgewater, NJ.
