ROBERTSONHLA's SparkPeople Blog ROBERTSONHLA's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community I really need to get back on track! Sooo, as of June I had lost 100lbs. June marked the completion of a full year of change. I kept going and dropped a few more pounds, fitness and eating were going well. And then, I broke a toe, even that didn't slow me down. I kept up with running, and my routines but a few weeks later my foot was in so much pain I could barely walk.
That was mid August. Here I sit, my foot is repaired but I haven't made it back to the same level of fitness and I've gained 15lbs. I never ever felt this ... Tue, 1 Nov 2011 16:32:39 EST Woohoo! Movement again! So, last week I wrote about being sort of stuck. This week I tried really hard to track and to up my exertion while exercising. I ran 5-7k every other day and hit the gym every day almost.
Well, that plus the lack of hormonal bloating pushed me to a 4lb loss! It is always amazing to me that I can chart a trend in my loss based on a certain cycle! Just a few more pounds and I will be at the top of my healthy weight!

Heather Sun, 17 Apr 2011 12:26:48 EST 10 months in at Sparkpeople I know I have made some very big accomplishments but staring at the ounces I have lost over the last couple of weeks has me a little annoyed.
You see, just ounces are actually all I should have lost. I have been slack about tracking, I missed a couple of days at the gym and perhaps I indulged in a few too many foods from the "other" category.
My unofficial goal was to hit 100lbs lost by the end of my first year at Sparkpeople. I might not make it. I know the lack of movement this... Sun, 10 Apr 2011 11:28:21 EST I love Spring! I feel so alive! I managed to get a bit of biking in last week. It was a bit cool and a bit windy but so wonderful to exercise outside!
I am approaching 85lbs lost and it has me hopeful that one day I may actually be in the "healthy weight" category!

Heather Sun, 20 Mar 2011 13:25:38 EST I think I need to eat more..... I can't figure out how to make my spark profile recalculate my caloric needs. I know how to change the number of calories to burn etc. It has occurred to me that my second job is very active. I am a night time stock person so I am constantly on the go. I am lifting boxes (lots of boxes!), bending, climbing, twisting.....and starving!
I work two jobs (about 72 hours a week) which sometimes means I work up to 20 hours/day between the two. It is a temporary solution to a problem, at this p... Sat, 5 Mar 2011 14:16:12 EST I bought some Goal pants! I was at Costco yesterday and saw a cute pair of pants that roll up into Capris. I decided to buy them in a size 12 with the commitment to fit into them in time for capri weather. Well, I tried them on last night and they fit, and fit well with room to move! I have just been making due with the clothing I have as I don't want to invest in more. I have to wear a belt so I guess I didn't notice how big they have gotten on me. The last new pair of jeans I bought were a 14 and upon studying them ... Sun, 20 Feb 2011 13:01:34 EST Back into routine So, I seem to be settling back into routine. The healthy active routine, not the injured and forced to be lazy routine!
Last week I watched the scale slowly rise. I knew it was in response to my hormones and a certain visitor I was expecting so I decided to stay off to avoid becoming discouraged. Well, today I stepped back on and I had lost the three I was up last week and another three!
I am guessing those pounds are due in part to a couple of other changes I have made too. It ha... Thu, 17 Feb 2011 08:14:31 EST It's been a rough start to the year. I injured my back on January 1st. Apparently I dislocated my pelvis. It has been a very painful journey but I think I may be ready to hit the gym again for some gentle exercise. I was really worried about the outcome of my injury weight wise. I have felt that i haven't been making the healthiest choices. When I got on the scale this am I realized I was only up a lb for the whole month.
In any case, I am back to tracking my food intake and hopefully back to the gym! Sun, 6 Feb 2011 09:54:38 EST I came prepared to get back on the wagon As it turns out, I was on it all along. I guess perhaps the journey isn't as obviously bumpy as it used to be!
I thought my tumble off of the wagon would happen when I went on vacation but I managed to keep focused. I exercised plenty and didn't feel too guilty about anything I had eaten. I came back from vacation but had a hard time getting back into my gym routine. My husbands shift has changed, my daycare person closed her daycare---this adding much stress and some adjustment to the... Mon, 29 Nov 2010 10:59:05 EST Fighting, fighting, I have been battling something all week. It hasn't won yet, I am still holding it off.

In a way I wish it would either win or move on! I have scaled back on the exercise a bit and that seems to have given me the upper hand. I need to kick this in the butt before I head on vacation in 10 days!

Heather Sun, 31 Oct 2010 17:55:30 EST an eight month plan! I am an organizer by nature! The beginning changes have spiralled. At first it was a plan to become healthier, that turned into a plan to take back my life. I wanted to back away from all of the stress. It was work related stress. A job that was poor paying and toxic.
So, I started exercising, I started using Spark and I started eating healthier.
Soon, (as in 4 months) I had changed jobs, exercised lots and had lost 50+lbs. Now, for the next transition. I have started a second job.... Sun, 24 Oct 2010 14:28:52 EST I am stronger than I give myself credit for! So, about 6 weeks ago I started exercising at a gym, with a personal trainer. Prior to that I have been swimming, biking, walking, and some running. I had lost 30lbs in just three months.
Back to the trainer, I have found a wonderful fit. I am incredibly challenged. Today she had me do an exercise circuit that she had me try my first week. It was an epic fail back then, couldn't even come close to accomplishing it. Well, today I rocked it! I was apprehensive going into it. I hadn't done ... Thu, 7 Oct 2010 17:20:34 EST Below 200lbs! I can't believe I made it! In just under 17 weeks I have lost 41lbs.
My clothes do not fit and they are starting to look ridiculous with a belt! I think I may go buy a pair or two this week-end.
My goal was to be 200lbs by October 6th so I am a bit ahead of my goal. I am working to make it to 190lbs by November 6th and then I will likely lower my goal to 5 or 6lbs/month.
I weighed myself in the afternoon, after lunch so I am sort of curious what my morning weight would have bee... Thu, 23 Sep 2010 17:28:19 EST Flu last week, and now a cold this week I can't wait to feel better! I have maintained the 2lb loss I experienced last week but haven't managed to move any weight this week.
Usually when the kids go back to school we get a cold or virus that goes along with it--this year it just seems to be me that is getting sick!
I have continued to exercise a bit this week but it has been a struggle! I am hoping by next week I will be feeling well again. Fri, 17 Sep 2010 15:07:48 EST Well, 3 months in and...... just over 35lbs lost!
Woot! I was 204.8 this morning! My husband asked what we are going to do to celebrate when I reach 199.....I only yesterday admitted to my true starting weight (240) and my current weight(204.8). He loves me just the way I am so it's all the same to him, so he says!
Well, we are taking advantage of the last day of summer vacation for the kids. We are heading out shortly to walk on the beach and perhaps pick some apples.
Have a wonderful day! Mon, 6 Sep 2010 08:42:24 EST Going against the schedule! Well, normally I would document my weight loss today. I always record it on Saturday. I did weight myself and I am down 2lbs but I am going to wait until Monday to document it.
Why? Well, Monday is my three month anniversary of this journey. I am hoping to be celebrating a 35lb loss! As of today it was 34lbs.
I can't believe all of the changes I have made. I got out of a toxic work environment, I have organized my life, got us on track financially, and lost almost 35lbs!
I can'... Sat, 4 Sep 2010 13:02:48 EST a compliment while naked This morning while I was at the pool one of the other regular swimmers complimented me! She said "Wow, it looks like your fitness efforts are really paying off!". Now, aside from the fact that I felt slightly uncomfortable standing there almost naked, I felt great!
Now, at the hour I swim the population at the pool consists of 70+ year olds. They have all been very encouraging---they see me walking everywhere and know I swim 5-7 hours/week.
My car has been out of commission most of... Thu, 26 Aug 2010 17:50:30 EST 1/2 lb shy of the results I was hoping for. I was hoping to be 210lbs today, but I was 210.5lbs. It was still a 2lb decrease but I really wanted it to be 2.5!
I really can't believe I have lost almost 30lbs. I was starting to think ahead about my next goal....I am setting them at 10lb intervals. I am trying to focus on what a realistic length of time is. I know the rate at which I am losing will slow a bit, it is hard to know when to expect that to happen.
I am adding new types of exercise and keeping up with my old program t... Sat, 21 Aug 2010 10:41:05 EST Still Motivated I had a very excellent exercise week! I am excited about a Zumba class I have enrolled in for the fall, I have a meeting with a personal trainer next week to discuss some strength training. I will continue to do my cardio outside of a gym for as long as possible. I may see about the spin class offered through the same gym, they provide a very guided approach and work with an individual or small group. It is a bit pricey but worth the investment, I think.
I anticipate that I will reach th... Sun, 15 Aug 2010 09:56:51 EST Marching Forward I am still nursing my knee a bit. I have decided to give it a rest until September and then I will re-start C25K. I am so excited for the fall and all it will bring!
In the meantime I am walking at least an hour/day, swimming 5 mornings/week, and I am going to start biking this week.
I am loving having the time for fitness! Sun, 25 Jul 2010 21:19:51 EST Rough Start To The Week but I am holding strong. I could have curled up in a ball and stayed depressed, I could have eaten for comfort but I haven't.
Instead, I have exercised ( a lot!), and I have tried to continue to eat at least the minimum for my food categories.
I gave notice at my job and was dismissed on the spot, now they are harassing me at home. I was able to move up the start date of my new job so I start there tomorrow. The hours and the salary are better, it is a better work environment and I ... Tue, 20 Jul 2010 19:17:11 EST First Big Milestone! I have lost just over 20lbs since the beginning of June! I don't really feel any different, I just feel like me. I am exercising more and more, and I guess I have a bit more energy.
I am now 218lbs--I was 22o full term with my second child just over three years ago. I had many struggles over the last couple of years but I am feeling like the sun is starting to break through and things are getting brighter!
About a decade ago I was struggling to drop those last five pounds, I really...
