The morning drink consists of 8 oz. of water, one helping of fruit, a teaspoon of dehydrated probiotic green stuff, and a cup of kale. Morning snack is a hardboiled egg. Lunch is 1 piece of grain bread with one slice of American cheese, two oz. of turkey, grapes followed by a midafternoon snack which is 1 ½ cups of salad without dressing. Dinner is one helping. Food is not served from the table. I’m drinking at least a gallon of water, no sweet drinks, and... Sun, 15 Dec 2013 15:05:01 EST Day One (again) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5559859 The scale reads 312 pounds. That’s 40 pounds more than last March (2013) and my waist is 59 inches. When it comes to eating food and exercising there is only failure.

Coffee with two sugars and a little milk launched a healthier better life program. Coffee should taste like coffee rather than ice cream. Coffee this morning is half-and-half as cream and high doses of sugar. Coffee may have been present. It tasted great before remembering that coffee needs to taste like coffee and ... Sun, 8 Dec 2013 15:51:53 EST Hello ….My name is Richard and I am a Food Addict http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5558481 My companions are a bloated stomach, joint and muscle pain. I sit with my legs apart to provide room for my belly, in order to tie my shoes. This morning I attempted to tied my shoes on a stool and almost fell forward right on to our hot fireplace insert.

I am sitting here typing, feeling depressed and physically ill. I feel like vomiting but I know it’s from acid reflux. I took a pill and ate three Tums. I have a dull throbbing on the top right of my sternum. My right hand midd... Fri, 6 Dec 2013 15:16:05 EST Assessment at the Gym. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5356389 I met with Fitness 19 in Victorville Ca trainer (Jon/John) and he took metric measurements let me know that my BMI was 41%+ . I let him know that I was walking and that my goal was to drop 100 lb. and get to a healthier build which would allow me to have a vehicle for quality of life for the next 33 years. He was impressed over my breakfast and lunch eating habits (as long as I follow my plan.)

I paid for three training sessions two a week. They had a special 3 sessions 25 minutes... Tue, 14 May 2013 14:08:12 EST Gym Membership http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5355369 I joined Fitness 19 this weekend. I signed up and added the classes only $5.00 more per month. I figured that $14.99 per month was cheaper than buying gym equipment that sits in an empty room. I paid $59 for 4 training sessions with an initial assessment. I also signed up Margaret, my better half, at the same time. The people at the gym looked like my neighbors. I ask three members a few questions and they were very friendly. I watched a Zumba class. All the newbies were in back and they s... Exercise makes me feel good and decisive. I felt the sun warming my arms and breeze on my cheeks. I ate a healthy breakfast and a lunch full of fruits, vegetables, and health fat. I drank 9 cups of water and feel great.

Have you noticed that I have not been blogging for the last 3 weeks. Kat from UC Santa Cruz, Mariposa8, Mandy from Paris, France, and Elisabeth from Malibu. With two grandsons it has been busy. I am not tracking but I am watching what I eat.

Margaret, my better half, is about to put us on a wheat free diet. A gram of wheat is just like eating a gram of sugar to our bodies.

I hope all my Spark friends are doing well. We can do this. 381 Fri, 29 Mar 2013 13:46:00 EST This was the first week of slips and decision making. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5295147 I ended a three day weekend without walking. I slept late and kept silent for three days. Last week I walked 5 days or an hour per day. My knee bothered me wih a pain level of 1/3 while walking and a dull ache at night. I thought a little rest would be good because I increased my walking time and distance last week. The result is that my knees hurt more from not walking than walking. Tuesday I walked 1.5 miles, Wednesday 2.0 miles, and today 2.5 miles. I felt better and my knee hurt less ea... Thu, 21 Mar 2013 14:42:20 EST No amount of accolades or cheering by others will burn one calorie. This is my journey not theirs. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5281401 Yesterday I recorded another pound lost. That's 29 pounds. I've increased my aerobic walking time from 30 to 50 minutes. I walk during lunch and after work. During lunch I walk 2+ miles and walk one mile after school. Margaret and I walked 1.9 miles yesterday and 2.31 miles today. Now we are going to Costco to walk up and down the isles.

While doing water aerobics a few years back I lost 56 pounds and gained it all back when I stopped. Sun, 10 Mar 2013 16:39:49 EST Visit with My Dietitian http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5266532 Wonderful news I've lost 10 pounds from her last measurement. That's 28 pounds. Across the board I dropped my Cholesterol 20%. My HDL is still very high and it puts me at an intermediate risk when added to my age.

I have taken myself out of my safety zone by walking in front of my students and co-workers during lunch. I've been walking everyday this week and I am walking 24 to 35 minutes at a time. It comes to a 3.5 mile an hour pace. Not bad for somebody who sat for the last coup... I do not want to be seen as I am. I do very little exercise but I am willing to do physical labor where I can see what I accomplish. I enjoyed gardening and construction projects.
