I have lost some weight lately with a change in my food and the addition of Cardio Class. It is amazing how the results show up in my yoga class. I can move into and out of the yoga postures with greater ease since I've lost the weight. I believe if I keep tracking my nutrition and my fitness, I may reach my goal eventually. Walked the dogs early in the morning, worked half day at work, went to my strength training class and then went to my nail appointment. I do this every week of the year, this way I use up all my vacation time because the best time I can have is my time. Just some redesign of existing flower beds with more rock. Also going to take out the grass between the sidewalk and curb to put in crushed granite. Took the dogs on a 4 mile walk early this morning and got home around 7:30am. Went to a vey intense vinyasa yoga class. Then the best thing of all - I spent the afternoon with my dearest friend in the world. It was very crowded and we practiced without the airconditioner blowing. The practice is intense and always moving. This evening's focus was core, twists, hip openers, heart openers, and inversions. The instructor is marvelous because she can teach a very challenging class and everyone in the class no matter what level their practice can achieve success on their mat. It made me think about the Cardio/Strength training class I take at lunch time. Today was called 30 second challenge. We did the same ten exercises but each one of 30 seconds. We do 25 min of Spin Bike and then 25 min on Elliptor or Treadmill. I always choose the elliptor because of knee and ankle issues. The time is well spent and the instructor is very good and very encouraging giving us different levels if the max level is too much. It was a hard class and I sweated alot. My workplace has a gym downstairs from my office. Exercise classes are offered at 6:30am, 11:30am, and 5:30pm. Why isn't this gym packed all the time? Oh well, I am grateful that it is there and that there are always hot showers and clean towels so after the exercise class I can clean up and walk upstairs to go back to work. When I got home, they were tired and so was I but it was only the start of my day. Sunday includes church but today was special because I was able to go to lunch with some other folks after services. Both were very sweaty because it was 82 degrees at 5:30am this morning while walking the dogs and the yoga classroom sets the AC between 82-85 degrees. If I am going to exercise, I like to sweat. Makes me feel like I am working very hard. I know that exercise if very important but reducing the calories will also have an impact on my overall health.
