REJOYCE51's SparkPeople Blog REJOYCE51's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Change of pace So I decided to stop my curves membership. We've been trying to cut back on everything and it's an extra $35 every month. However, I have not stopped moving....I am walking to work or part of the way 3 times a week or more. I am keeping track of my miles and hope to see some improvement. I liked curves, but was time for a change. On days that I am short on time or energy :) I park my car halfway and walk the rest. It's 2.4 miles one way or 1.4 if I park halfway at a shopping center (yes, we ... Wed, 22 Jun 2011 11:01:26 EST A New Year In Progress Here it is 2011. Wow. It has been 5 years since we left our home church. It has taken this long for the healing. I realize that although we go on with life there is always baggage that we take with us. No I have not given up my walk with God, I still love people, I still have hope and faith in God and people. We all carry our baggage from our pasts and it is time to lighten the load. I forgave a while ago but the hurt and betrayal remained to some degree (some days were better than others). ... Mon, 17 Jan 2011 12:41:38 EST Help from the nutrional page I am slightly colorblind and can not tell which color the protein square is (square needs to be a little bigger)?? Green or red?? Thanks for your help. Mon, 8 Feb 2010 11:48:27 EST Biggest Loser Contest at Curves Here it is --- January and the "biggest loser contest" starts next week at Curves (6 weeks long). It is a great way to jump-start the new year. I need accountability. The nutrition page on Sparkpeople is great. It means I don't have to keep a written food journal, just print it out in excel and turn it in at the beginning of the week. Thanks sparkpeople. I hope I do well this time. The last time I did OK but not great. The time before I did great and lost 30+ pounds. My daughter gave me a su... Tue, 5 Jan 2010 23:09:02 EST Merry Christmas to all Merry Christmas to all of you. I really appreciate your encouraging words and interesting blogs. You are all so different and unique as we all are. I am amazed at the differences and yet similarities in each of us. God is so awesome to be so creative. I love to look at trees for that very reason. All the different shades of green, different shapes of leaves and tree structure yet similar in many ways. I live in a great area to appreciate the trees. I love to drive down the "Avenue of the Gian... Wed, 23 Dec 2009 16:04:15 EST Damascus anyone? I'm thankful for the word of God. I've been thinking about Saul (Paul) & his Damascus experience (Acts 9). He had an encounter with Jesus and was blinded by the bright light. He could of built a monument there glorifying the encounter and not God. He could of stayed blind & denied the experience. He could of not obeyed God & continued doing what was "right" in his... own eyes. BUT he relied on others to lead him into town. God sent to him a man (Ananias) whom he would have persecuted before... Tue, 17 Nov 2009 01:01:42 EST Pray I am thankful that my children and grandchildren are doing well, but there are many (children and adults) who are ill. Please join me in praying for them. When you hear of someone who is sick send up a prayer for them and their families immediately. We are so busy that we forget if we don't do it right away. We don't have to know all their names --- God knows. Tue, 27 Oct 2009 00:56:22 EST Looking forwards Got back on Sunday evening from the jazz festival. Had a great time. You know many people my age (58) and older are looking at the end of their lives. At the jazz festival there was a drummer who was sitting in for one of his students --- he just had a birthday. He is 82 years young. He played the drums with vitality, accuracy and energy. So...we need to think forward, not backwards. My students range in ages from 10 to 78 years old. They are all ages and all levels (many of them are begi... Wed, 14 Oct 2009 15:19:07 EST Time for new beginnings Well today was the last day at the music store for the current owner. He has had the store for 9 years. We will miss him but he felt it was time to move on. His wife and him are moving to Grants Pass Oregon. It was also my last day in the store repairing instruments as the new owners have a friend that does repairs. I moved my shop back to my house but will repair my students instruments and maybe a few others. I will still be teaching music at the store. It will be nice to have my mornings ... Thu, 24 Sep 2009 02:44:18 EST Random acts of kindness Does anyone remember the "Random acts of kindness" movement that swept across our nation years ago??? During these troubled times we could be a blessing to someone else.

Anyone want to play??

The rules are simple ... do something nice for someone that you don't know. It could be anything --- how about giving up your parking spot in a busy lot, picking up something in the store that you didn't knock down, a smile, etc.....

Don't forget to be kind to yourself a... Sat, 19 Sep 2009 11:50:31 EST How do you add more pictures? How do I add more pictures?? I guess I am just not seeing how to do it -- it's probably right in front of my face. Just like when you are in a store and can't find something and you finally give up and ask only to find that you are standing right in front of it or close to it. Fri, 18 Sep 2009 02:12:15 EST
