Sat, 21 Apr 2018 15:39:39 EST I found Coach Nicole Nichols Since joining SP in 2009 I have loved articles and exercise videos by Coach Nicole. She left SP (but her articles are still here and her videos are still here on SP TV) and I always wondered where she went.

Here is a link to an article about what she is up to with an interview she did on TV. It was from December 2017.

cinnati/from-fitness-to-flipping-local
-woman-changes-careers
Fri, 20 Apr 2018 03:45:36 EST Day 11 Exercise Streak: Added Exercise and How I Get My Fruits and Veggies I added about 12 more minutes to my exercise routine this morning. I'm gradually getting up a earlier each week so I have more time to exercise before work. My plan is to add another short exercise routine after work as well. Grading papers takes a lot of sitting. I must exercise to make up for that.

This weekend I plan to go to the Arizona P.O.W.W.O.W which is a food rescue. Besides the regular veggies there will be mini watermelons. We pay $10 for 60 lbs of food. I haven't bee... Fri, 20 Apr 2018 02:39:31 EST Day 10 Exercise Streak: Cardio, Weights, Trimming Bougainvillea I'm still at it, praise the Lord. Right now I don't have enough time to workout like I did when I was losing weight last winter and spring. However, I feel good.

I gotta tell ya exercise really helps. Physically, mentally, spirtually, emotionally, intellectually...

Hopefully, I'll, add more time.

Along with cardio and weights I did yardwork after work. I had to trim back the bougainvillea, no easy feat. Good calorie burn with the electric trimmer, lopper, rak... Wed, 18 Apr 2018 08:40:47 EST Day 8 Exercise Streak: Good News, "Bad" News Good: I added a few minutes more cardio.

"Bad": I didn't start tracking food in my journal (or online) yesterday.
I know it's not really "bad" but it's a common expression so I used it.

It's more of a delay. So, today it is. Back to tracking on paper or online.

Also, I really need to get my spark or drive back. I'm overwhelmed with responsibilities and things I need to catch up on. I'm having a hard time putting me first.

This week I will... Tue, 17 Apr 2018 09:17:50 EST Day 7 Exercise Streak: One Week Complete I am happy that I have started a new exercise streak. It's back as part of my daily routine so I know I must do it. There's no excuses! Mon, 16 Apr 2018 09:19:17 EST Day 6 Exercise Streak Complete I was down to 161 at Christmas but gained some duing Christmas break and more since I didn't exercise much of the winter. Sinus infections run me down and I'd just come home from work and want to rest so I'd have energy to get through the next day.

On Easter I took a wonderful hour and a half hike at the White Tanks and swore that would be the beginning of my new exercise streak. It didn't happen. But I took the plunge this past week and today is Day 6 of my exercise streak. <B... Wed, 11 Apr 2018 09:06:03 EST A Fresh Start with Exercise I've been eating well for the most part. I am still off sweet treats like candy, cookies, ice cream, doughnuts, pie, cake, bars, etc. It's been 2 YEARS 22 days since I gave sweet treats up.

However, Since the new year I have not been exercising much and it's sporadic. A hike here, a video there, a short and rare bike ride. Not consistently. And what is on my main list of things to do for weightloss? An exercise streak and tracking food!

Sad to say I've gained 7-9 pou... Tue, 10 Apr 2018 09:36:52 EST 2018 Roadshow Concert, Veggies, and Chocolate Gifts For Valentine's Day I received a lot of gifts which I am grateful for. Since Valentine's was also the first day of Lent, besides the fact that I don't eat processed sugar treats like candy, I have been giving away the boxes of chocolate and such. (I hope I don't sound ungrateful but I do let it be known often that I don't eat sweets. I get them as gifts anyway. Fortunately, I have people and organizations I can pass them on to.)

Today I cut up a bunch of veggies, all from the foo... Tue, 27 Feb 2018 19:05:39 EST Fat Tuesday Today, Ash Wednesday on Valentine's Day! Lent Begins Tomorrow! So, today I am going to take advantage of Fat Tuesday. We will be celebrating Valentine's Day today. Tomorrow we will begin Lent by receiving Ashes, fasting (It's not as bad as it sounds. We still get to eat! 😁), and abstaining from meat. Eating fish is better. Will have to keep it healthy, though!
Exercise, healthy food choices, prayer, tithing, sacrifice, service to others, etc. will be part of my Lenten journey. I plan to go hiking up a desert mountain (hopefully more than once). I... Sun, 28 Jan 2018 00:54:36 EST Day 7 Exercise Streak Besides work, I had a class Monday and Thursday night. It ran late both nights. Didn't get home until past 10 P.M. on Thurs. night. The class was a 45 min. drive from home. 30 min. or so drive from work.

I have not broken my exercise streak. That's the good news.

However, I ate too much yesterday. Sat, 27 Jan 2018 03:28:51 EST Day 4 Exercise Streak: 45 Minutes I slept in this morning. Didn't exercise until evening. Met with students after school and after carlane duty to help them with their writing projects. Then ran errands for our composting project for the science fair. I also had to stop by the public library to make a return. Came home and vegged out a little before forcing myself to get up to exercise. Today was warm up, cardio, weights, cool down. Sun, 21 Jan 2018 22:55:42 EST Day 2 Exercise Streak! A New Beginning! Avoiding exercise over Christmas break carried over into January mainly because when I do marathon grading I can not get motivated to exercise. Friday morning I woke up early and exercised. Hurrah! Feeling inspired to workout is always hard to do, for me, I mean.

Today I went to the produce rescue and came home with all sorts of goodies. I'll post a photo later. Sat, 20 Jan 2018 23:34:27 EST New Exercise Streak Started Today So, I stayed up late grading last night but woke up early so I decided to start my new exercise streak a day ahead of schedule. I was going to start tomorrow with a hike, which I'm still planning to do although my hiking buddy is not feeling well. But I woke up with unexpected energy so I took advantage of it.

I love exercise streaks. It was hit or miss since Dec. 21. Now I am ready to make this streak a long one! I ate too much sodium last night in the form of kalamata olives, artichokes in a jar, and feta cheese in the chicken recipe I made. Then tonight I met my niece at Westgate for dinner and a movie. Eating out does a number on my scale due to the sodium. I usually strictly limit the salt I eat at home but I splurged on the Greek recipe. So, tomorrow NO SALT. I'm sure the scale will be up from Wednesday morning. I ate a healthy breakfast at home. I sautéd a jalapeño pepper, mushrooms, onions. I added egg whites. Sun, 19 Nov 2017 10:01:08 EST 2Hour Bike Ride Sunday I didn't want to do exercise videos. I didn't have time for a good hike and knew that would wear me out. I wanted to drive somewhere and try a different bike trail but didn't want to spend the time driving to and from. So, I started out from home and rode for 2 hours. Once I get on it's hard to stop but I finally said to myself, "You need to turn around. You have to grade and post grades."

I started biking when it was still chilly. Roosters were crowing all over the place. I rode for 4 miles. I thought I'd do two. Then I was up to three and thought, "What the heck. I'll do four." At one point somewhere sirens were blaring for a while. I always make the sign of the cross for the first responders and those in need of their help. Sat, 11 Nov 2017 08:52:05 EST All About Me with a Hectic Schedule Thrown in! Somehow I am busier than ever during a work week and weekend where I should be limiting my activity and focusing on grading and posting grades. If all of the things I'm doing this week were next weekend, that would work out better for me.
