If I can get a little faster, I know I can do a half marathon,

Towards the end of the race, one of the mentors from my training program ran back to get me and run me in. The inspiration from her was awesome.

Next stop - Disney half marathon relay and 8.1 miles!! Mon, 6 Sep 2010 22:54:50 EST Lilac 5K & Inspiration http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3259688 Ran the Lilac 5K today in 45:07. Not too bad, considering all the hills.

The best part was my good friend ran with me. It was her first 5K and she did a great job! She is my marathon relay partner. The sweetest part is that she called me her inspiration. She is one of the strongest women I know, so it means a lot to me. Sun, 23 May 2010 14:32:33 EST Ok, now I am really on the hook :-D http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3222949 I just registered for the WDW Wine & Dine Half Marathon Relay and I told my running partner I would do the longer (8 mile) portion. Now I really need to keep focused on training from now until October.

Wish me luck & any attempts to keep me on track are welcome! Wed, 12 May 2010 16:29:09 EST I deserve it http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3213409 A funny thing happened this weekend. I was treating myself to some sweets for Mother's Day (cheesecake over 2 days and an awesome cupcake over 2 days) thinking "I deserve it. It's Mother's Day."

Then, a thought jumped into my head. I deserve to be healthy and fit, too. This did not stop me from eating the sweets, but it did stop my from continuing to eat junk. I believe in moderation, so the sweets were not "bad" or a deal breaker, esp since I spread them out, but that new thought ... Mon, 10 May 2010 09:28:00 EST Halfway there http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3210839 I realized that I am halfway to my goal!! 34 lbs gone and 34 left to go. I know the next 34 may be harder, but I'm determined to get there and see.

One another note, I ran the ENTIRE 5K this AM and even shaved a little time off from the first one.

Hope everyone has a great Mother's Day!! Sun, 9 May 2010 12:54:43 EST Finished my first 5K http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3158354 I finished my first 5K this AM!! I ran . I most of it, but did take some walking breaks. I may be slow, but at least I am trying. I finished 521/561. Sun, 25 Apr 2010 11:25:28 EST Is it worth it? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3144346 I was just browsing the forums and someone asked "Is it worth it" to track your food and exercise. As I typed my answer, I got a little choked up. Heck yes, it's worth it. I'm worth it. My daughter is worth it. My husband is worth it. We deserve to be a healthy, active family. I LOVE that I can chase my 3 year old around the playground and be the crazy mom. I love that if she decided to take off running (and not listen) I can chase her down without feeling like I am going to die. My father pa... Wed, 21 Apr 2010 10:30:23 EST Scale Victory and random thoughts! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3140117 I got on the scale this AM and for the first time in at least 5 years, the number started with a 1. WooHoo!! I also noticed that the dog food weighed 31.5 lbs which is around the amount I have lost. Man, that bag was heavy, too.

I am so looking forward to sitting on a plane next week and not feeling so fat. The same with the rides and everything else.

Have a great day! Tue, 20 Apr 2010 10:00:40 EST A little nervous http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3119353 I have to admit that I am a little nervous that my 5K training program is coming to an end. I like the workouts and the accountability. If I don't do my solo workouts, than I may not be able to complete my group workouts. Plus, I like checking them off the schedule on the fridge.

SO my question is - What's next? How do I keep myself going? Wed, 14 Apr 2010 15:23:15 EST Intervals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3111960 I just wanted to say that I ran all my intervals today. That means 42 minutes of running. I am pretty sure that is the longest I've ever run in my entire life.

Bring on the 5K! Mon, 12 Apr 2010 21:07:24 EST What a Beautiful day! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3106142 I just have to share what I great day I am having. 30 lbs gone! Gone forever. This is almost the weight of my daughter. I am looking forward to the next 2 goals - being in the 1's (one hundreds) and losing as much weight as my daughter weighs (around 35 lbs). It will be interesting to carry her and think of all the weight that is gone!

Plus, I walked/ran 6 plus miles yesterday and I feel fantastic. Not sore, not achey, just great.

And, the sun is shining. After naptime, ...
